OPPO R7 and R7 Plus: New ultra-thin flagships launched

OPPO R7 and R7 Plus are going to be the next ultra-thin flagships produced by OPPO in 2015. As we are getting closer to the OPPO R7 and R7 Plus official launch at the end of the May, the company has given us some hints by unveiling new images of these smartphones recently.

OPPO R7 and R7 Plus

OPPO R series usually appears ultra-thin. If you remember, the OPPO R5 was considered the world’s thinnest smartphone with only 4.85mm of thickness. Now, according to R7 and R7 Plus renders, it is likely that these versions will be the successors to OPPO R5 or maybe even slender. On the other hand, R7 and R7 Plus will probably take 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a 5.9-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, respectively.

oppo front

In terms of design, the devices share a metal frame surrounding the bodies, which rejects the rumor that R7 and R7 Plus are borderless. However, notice that the phones employ very thin bezels with the use of 2.5D glass on the font, which gives people an optical illusion that they have no bezels at all.

One minor difference between the two models is that OPPO R7 Plus has a large OPPO branding below the display and R7 does not. On the back, R7 Plus contains a fingerprint scanner, dual-tone LED flash and a small black part next to the camera that could be an infrared LED for the camera focus. Those details are placed in the middle on the top of the phone, different from R7, whose camera is put on a top’s corner. For the power buttons, they are also not the same. R7 Plus’s power button is on the right while the standard R7’s is on the left as you can see in the following picture.

oppo back

Well, let’s take another look at OPPO R7 and R7 Plus specs:

OPPO R7 Specs:

R7 reportedly has 2 processor based variants depending on the region where it goes on sale. One of the two variants will run a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, and the other on a 1.7GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6752 processor. No matter what variant it will come with, the 3GB RAM and 16GB of storage are not to be changed on R7 versions. The phone will also feature a 20.7MP rear camera.

OPPO R7 Plus Specs:

Next we have OPPO R7 Plus running on the 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6795 1.9GHz. It also sports 3GB RAM and 32 GB of storage. Besides, the rear camera is likely to be 20.7MP, too and the front is 7MP.

OPPO R7 Plus

Although the official images of R7 and R7 Plus were released by OPPO, to know what we have heard so far is true, we have to wait until 20 May, which is said to be the OPPO R7 release date and R7 Plus release date. Perhaps OPPO R7 Malaysia and R7 Plus Malaysia will then also come to Malaysia market this year, and hopefully R7 price as well as R7 Plus price in Malaysia will be affordable for those who like these OPPO products.

Xiaomi Power Bank 10,000mAh: Newer, Smaller and Lighter

Xiaomi has introduced a brand new 10,000mAh Power Bank which is a bit smaller than the recent 10,400mAh Power Bank. However, people may consider its smaller size and lighter weight as good points. About its appearance, you will also get the same metal clad body and the same charging chips made by Texas Instruments and US Power Systems. Now, let’s check out some important numbers to show how the Xiaomi’s new product is like.

Xiaomi Power Bank

Xiaomi Power Bank:

10,000: 10,000mAh is the capacity of the new power bank.

207: It weighs 207 grams, which is 43 grams lighter than the 10,400mAh version (250 grams).

60.4: It measures just 60.4mm wide, obviously smaller than the 77mm wide 10,400mAh Power Bank.

size

22: Though it is smaller in width, the new power bank (22mm thick) seems to be thicker than the former (21.6mm).

62: It has 62 hours of standby time.

2.1: Its output pushes 2.1Amps from a single USB port.

4: There are 4 LED status lights on this device.

pic

5,200: The positions of its microUSB input and full size USB port has been changed to be in the middle, like the Mi 5,200mAh Power Bank.

40: In China, Mi 10,000mAh Power Bank costs 69 CNY, which means this Xiaomi power bank price is about RM40 in Malaysia.

In conclusion, for those who want to buy a new power bank, they can take the Mi 10,000mAh Power Bank into consideration. It has just been launched by Xiaomi manufacturer recently, and one remarkable point is that this new device is lighter and smaller in comparison with the Mi Power Bank 10,400mAh. Anyhow, we have not had the Xiaomi Power Bank Malaysia 10,000mAh as well as the official Xiaomi Power Bank price in Malaysia yet. Maybe it’s gonna be here in the near future.

Yu Yuphoria: New metal-frame, Snapdragon 410 and 4G LTE phone for RM400

After letting the fans choose the name for Micromax YU’s new product, finally it will be known as Yu Yuphoria. In terms of Yu Yuphoria design, Yuphoria is likely to dress a metal frame, “miracle in metal” as they call it. This metal frame goes around the phone’s edge with the back made of soft plastic. The company’s teams in Bangalore and Beijing will be the ones in charge of crafting the phone, and they mainly aim at metal mid-rangers such as Samsung Galaxy A3; however, it’s gonna go with a more affordable Yuphoria price.

Yu Yuphoria Specs:

Recalling information we have heard about Yuphoria specs, it will be powered by a Snapdragon 410 (four 64-bit CPU cores and Adreno 306) processor, featuring 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage along with a microSD card slot. The screen is a 5-inch 720p HD one protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and the cameras are 8 mega-pixel, f/2.2 for the rear and 5 mega-pixel, f/2.0 for the front.

For the battery, it is a 2,230mAh one with Quick Charge 1.0. One more interesting point about Yu Yuphoria is the Wolfson audio chip, which can help bring great audio quality.

Yu Yuphoria price is about $110, so that maybe Yuphoria Malaysia price could be around RM400. It is said that Yuphoria release date is May 28, but Yuphoria Malaysia release date has not been made yet. So, we’ll try to continue updating you with more information about this new phone!

OnePlus One Touchscreen Issues: Firmware update helps solve the problem

As we know, since the OnePlus One launch last year, it has been reported several times for issues related to the touchscreen. Specifically, OnePlus One touchscreen simply is not responsive to its users. It does not identify human touch, it detects the touch not made by the users, or sometimes it does things people do not want. Furthermore, the screen jumps around occasionally when the user scrolls pages or uses different multitouch gestures. Those issues really annoys who is using OnePlus One. So, has the company come up with any solution?

OnePlus One

OnePlus One Response:

OnePlus One touchscreen issues appeared to cause some heated discussions in different OnePlus forums. Though perhaps the number of OnePlus One owners having such problem is kind of small compared to the whole its user base, those people did want to be heard. Good thing is that OnePlus did response to them. “We take your feedback seriously and have been putting the One through a battery of tests and determined that there are different issues at play, some software and some hardware,” said the official forum post.

OnePlus

It was explained that some problems might happen in the software and hardware of the touchscreen element. In addition, OnePlus are also working with their touchscreen technology partner Synaptics in order to find out an effective resolution for the issue by a firmware update.

Hopefully, the solution they mentioned will come true soon. As OnePlus One Malaysia launch has just happened recently with OnePlus One price in Malaysia from RM1,197 to RM1,297, the company would not want to lose Malaysians’ impressions of its smartphone with such problem. If you are also a OnePlus One user experiencing the touchscreen issue, what would you say?

Meizu MX5, M1 Note 2 and Avengers versions are around the corner

Back to last year, 2014 was quite a successful year for Meizu when it got back and brought consumers cool products such as MX4, MX4 Pro, and M1 Note, released in September, October, and December, respectively. They were all highly evaluated, so that people seem to expect such things or more in 2015. With MX5, M1 Note 2 and Meizu Avengers edition which are likely to be coming, can Meizu make another great year?

Meizu MX5

Meizu MX5, M1 Note 2 and Avengers edition:

It is said that on May 18, 2015 Meizu will hold an event in which they will announce the launch of a Avengers version for Meizu MX4 and M1 Note smartphones. Some teasers are released to introduce white Meizu MX4 and yellow Meizu M1 Note with logo of Avengers on the back. If you remember, we showed you Avengers edition of Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge before, and perhaps in the future, Oppo could also create something similar. So, this means you surely will have many choices for an Avengers smartphone.

avengers

On the other hand, one of the coming phones is Meizu M1 Note 2, which  is considered as the second generation of Meizu Note model. Many sources claim that it is likely to have an alloy body rather than a plastic one, and feature a fingerprint scanner, similar to Meizu MX4. Furthermore, some insiders said that June 30 could be the Meizu MX5 release date. The device will come with a metal body and fingerprint scanner. It is quite certain that both of the phones will be powered by Mediatek chips, especially after the Taiwanese chip giant has decided to invest in the smartphone maker.

In the end, those are rumors about the launch of Meizu MX5, M1 Note 2 and Meizu Avengers versions. Let’s wait and see what actually comes out. Hopefully, we will be officially informed of Meizu MX5 Malaysia release date and M1 Note 2 Malaysia release date in the near future.

iPhone 6s, 6s Plus breaking news: Force Touch and Sapphire Back!

For those who are looking forward to the appearance of Apple new products this year, they may have already known about the coming iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, which are likely to be equipped with Force Touch and Sapphire back.

iPhone 6s?

iPhone 6s

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo – who usually reveals information about Apple’s new products quite correctly, has recently published a new report saying that Apple will continue producing phones with 4.7” and 5.5” in 2015. On the other hand, the possibility of a 4-inch version of the iPhone 6C is rejected one more time, at least not this year.

The 2 products will take the names as iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Force Touch Tech, which debuted on new MacBook and Apple Watch, is going to be applied for 6s and 6s Plus. That will become one of the remarkable features on this duo and bring users new and interesting experience. Besides, they will be powered by Apple new A9 chipset with 2GB LPDDR4 memory and 12 million-pixel cameras.

iPhone 6s

The iPhone 6s 5.5” may look more graceful with a sapphire glass display. However, it seems to be only a limited edition while the mainstream models are going to employ the Ion-X glass. Additionally, Apple will add more color for people’s choices. That is Rose Gold color once appearing on Apple Watch, and Tyrant gold Brilliance. Finally, the report also mentioned the Touch ID whose accuracy will be improved to promote Apple Pay.

In conclusion, before iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Malaysia release date is officially announced, we should wait to see whether the above information is true or there will be changes in the new iPhones.

Xiaomi Mi4i Malaysia: 4G LTE and 3,120mAh battery under RM800!

Mi4i is latest smartphone brought to you by Xiaomi, and they have promised that Xiaomi Mi4i Malaysia release date will be within this month. It seems like Xiaomi is carrying out the promise. Some revelations claimed that the company will announce Xiaomi Mi4i prices in Malaysia next week. This news was seen at Mi Malaysia Instagram when Xiaomi Malaysia replied to questions asked by their followers. However, Mi4i release date is still a mystery.

Mi 4i

Let’s take a quick view of Xiaomi Mi 4i Specs:

With a 5-inch Full HD display, an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor, and 2GB RAM, it is considered that Xiaomi Mi4i is the successor of its predecessor Xiaomi Mi3. In addition, Mi4i includes 16GB storage, 13MP rear and 5MP front camera, and is equipped with dual-SIMs supporting 4G LTE. For those who want an all-day battery, they may feel satisfied with Mi4i 3,120mAh battery. One thing that should be noticed is the lack of microSD card slot. They decide that the removal of the slot from Mi4i will bring users better experience.

Xiaomi Mi4i

Xiaomi Mi4i Prices in Malaysia:

Basing on Mi4i prices that are listed as below for other markets like Singapore, India, Hong Kong and Taiwan, we believe that this device will be priced at less than RM800 or around RM750.

India: Rs. 12,999 (about RM729)

Singapore: S$279 (about RM752)

Hong Kong: HK$1599 (about RM743)

Taiwan: NTD 6,449 (about RM762)

If what we predict turns out to be true, Mi4i price appears a bit higher than Redmi Note 4G price in Malaysia (RM625), yet not as much as Xiaomi Mi4 Malaysia 3G version only (RM1,199).

Mi 4i

To recap, for less than RM800, Xiaomi Mi4i Malaysia, coming with a 5″ FHD screen, a large battery and supporting 4G LTE, can be one of great choices for consumers in general and Mi fans in particular. So, what do you think about Mi4i and its price?

MICROSD CARDS: irreplaceable or unnecessary?

Debates on expandable storage on mobiles seem like it will never end, especially when recently some big guys like Samsung Galaxy S6 and Xiaomi Mi4i have removed microSD card slots from their bodies. This somehow causes another heated discussion in the community of smartphone users. So, the question is: “Why are there so many people who want microSD card slots while smartphone manufacturers want to get rid of them?”

microsd card

FOR THOSE WHO WANT MICROSD CARDS, IT’S BECAUSE…

The main reason for the existence of microSD cards is because of their COST and convenience. MicroSD cards appears along with feature phones and allows users to store their pictures, songs, contacts, themes, videos, etc. However, it does not cost much money for such a useful card. Moreover, a microSD card slot can connect with a computer or a smart device easily, so we can download or transfer files conveniently and store anything we like.

Another reason is that if a phone offers a small storage space with a microSD card slot, that phone’s price is not very expensive. These days, expandable storage cards are even cheaper than before, just from RM15 to several hundred ringgit, which means you can freely add a significant amount of storage to your smartphone without much concern over the card cost. Imagine that with just a small card worth about RM60 to RM70, you can increase the storage of a 32GB smartphone up to 64GB. Meanwhile, Apple asks for RM424 more for a 64GB iPhone 6 compared to a 32GB one. Of course, there are some differences in the technology between the native extra storage and the expanding one with a microSD, but to be honest, ordinary consumers do not tend to care about that.

micro-sd-card-stock

Thirdly, microSD card slots is portable. There are still many people prefer a microSD card to cloud syncing nowadays because who knows when the Internet is going to be low or in some countries, the Internet is expensive, so it is far cheaper to have a microSD card to store internal data.

FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT MICROSD CARDS, IT’S BECAUSE…

What did phone makers think when deciding to move the microSD card slot away? The answer mainly surrounds one word: PERFORMANCE. A slower-class card like Class 4 will have slower read or write speeds while a newer class like Class 10 microSD card is faster but more expensive. Thus, consumers who are not fully aware of the differences would be more likely to buy a slower one without understanding the results of using it. And why does smartphone maker concern about this matter? Let’s see how Xiaomi’s Hugo Barra explains:

“You think you’re buying like a Kingston or a SanDisk but you’re actually not, and they’re extremely poor quality, they’re slow, they sometimes just stop working, and it gives people huge number of issues, apps crashing all the time, users losing data, a lot of basically complaints and customer frustration. It’s gonna be a while before you finally accept that maybe the reason why it’s not performing is because you put in an SD card, right? You’re gonna blame the phone, you’re gonna blame the manufacturer, you’re gonna shout and scream and try to get it fixed, so many different ways until you say, ‘Actually, let me just take the SD card out and see what happens.’”

Who would want such bad press?

class-microsd-card-speed-600x394

We know that Samsung Galaxy S6 features with a new UFS 2.0 flash memory that is said to be a lot faster than the standard flash one on smartphones, and closer in performance to solid-state drives (SSDs). Even a Class 10 memory card would appear slow with that kind of speed, which surely leads to complaints saying that the device is “slowing down”. Hence, to prevent those things beforehand, Samsung chose to remove one of the most practical features to maintain Samsung S6 premium performance.

Similarly, that is also the reason why Hugo Barra is against the presence of microSD card slot on their affordable Xiaomi Mi 4i smartphone. “For high performance the devices, we are fundamentally against an SD card slot,” he claimed.

Finally, in aspect of “portability”, smartphone makers argue that there are many types of cloud syncing like Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Box, etc., so smartphones do not need need microSD card slot anymore. Your phone can automatically syncs app data to your Google account, so in case of using a new device, your apps would be downloaded immediately. Why worry about a flimsy and tiny card when you have the power of the cloud?

KEPP MOVING FORWARD…

We do not know whether this surprises you or not, but years ago Google was going against cheap memory expansion. Specifically, in 2011, Google did begin to encourage phone makers to increase phone internal storage instead of relying on expandable memory. The feature that let apps be transferred to a memory card called Apps2SD and introduced in Android 2.2 Froyo, seems to be a temporary solution. However, consumers are not likely to forget the cheap microSD card, so maybe they still choose small internal storage and external storage.

card

To conclude, we have to admit that microSD card has its own pros and cons. So, whether people should keep and improve microSD cards or replace it with another better solution is still debated. How about you? What would you say? Are you FOR or AGAINST microSD card?

Meizu MX5 Leak: Borderless Design and 41MP Camera?

Meizu MX5 is around the corner! It is going to be introduced in a special event on June 30 this year if the rumors are to be believed. In the leaked render below, we can see that Meizu MX5 will dress a metal construction outfit and contain a fingerprint scanner embedded in its Home button, not what all of its predecessors did before.

Meizu MX5 Malaysia

So far people have heard a lot of things about how MX5 looks like, but nothing is assured because very few leaks of this phone have been seen. Well, today we would like to show you some renders that try to accurately portray Meizu next flagship. Take a look at the following pictures.

Meizu MX5 Malaysia

According to these renders, the MX5 will probably be another smartphone designed as borderless for its screen. If this is what going to happen, it shows that Meizu will join the “bezel-less” trend not only in China but also all over the world. Besides, some clues for Meizu MX5 specs have been mentioned like it would be powered by MediaTek MT6795 SoC and boast an octa-core CPU 2.2 GHz. Also as we wrote before it might come with a 41MP PureView Camera in Collaboration with Nokia.

In the end, those are rumors and renders for Meizu MX5, which is not confirmed officially yet. As we get closer to Meizu MX5 release date, things surely will become clearer. Hopefully, Meizu will also bring us Meizu MX5 Malaysia with a reasonable MX5 price in Malaysia.

Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi5 Plus with Octa-Core Snapdragon 820!?

Recently, we have revealed the coming of Xiaomi Mi5 in the Xiaomi 2015 Raodmap. For Xiaomi Mi5 Specs, we know that it is going to sport a 5.2-inch 2K display, a 16MP snapper and a 3000mAh battery with 3GB or 4GB RAM.

XIaomi Mi5 and Mi5 Plus

Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi5 Plus version will come with a 6-inch borderless design 2K screen and a 4GB RAM plus 64GB of storage. Besides, it also has optical image stabilization and 1600w pixel camera.

Xiaomi_Mi5_Plus_2

In general, it is said that both Mi5 and Mi5 Plus will surely be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with 64-bit computing and 8 CPU. However, though Snapdragon 810 is powerful and, it does overheat and contains some other problems regardless of how Qualcomm has explained this fact. Therefore, Xiaomi will probably reconsider whether to choose Snapdragon 810 or not.

It is likely to happen since now many sources claim that Qualcomm’s MSM8996 (Snapdragon 820) is going to be released as a processor using Samsung‘s 14nm process. This can be another choice for Xiaomi, which is  is waiting for a new generation of processor and wanting to launch its products as soon as possible.

After all, Mi5 and Mi5 Plus release date are expected to be in July this year. Then, we will know which processor is suitable for Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi5 Plus. So, do you think that Mi5 and Mi5 Plus should adopt Snapdragon 820 processor?

Sudio Klang Earphone Review – Beats Xiaomi Pistons any time!

Sudio Klang earphone
klang_black_unboxing

Good:

The look, the look and the look! Whatever your style, Sudio Klang earphone will give it a notch towards Swedish elegance with its leather pouch, golden lining and golden clip. And OK, the sound’s strong bass and warm clarity go here, too.

earphone

Bad:

Definitely chic, the leather pouch proves to be a little hard to handle – it takes real efforts to store the headphone in there without making it look like you don’t care.

Overview:

If you are in need of earphone, this one will make people go: “Where did you get that cool thing from?”

All four colours of Sudio Klang earphone (white, black, brown, orange) come in solid white boxes. Opening the big box you’ll get three smaller flatter boxes that self-explanatory label ‘Klang’, ‘Case’, and ‘Owner’s manual warranty card’. The earphone itself ports a thicker cable, a gold-plated stereo mini plug, and a subtle three-button remote; altogether it feels more sophisticated than most in-ear peers at first glance. The right cord is longer than the left, suggesting that you could (should) circle it around the back of your head and clip it on your neckline with the golden looking clip.

earphone

Klang is best compatible with iPhone, iPad, and hopefully, all the next iThing. It is accompanied by four pairs of extra ear sleeves to really cater to your ergonomic comfort, also to guarantee it won’t fall out of your ears easily regardless of the position you use it with (they know you scroll in bed!) I fumbled a little at my first sleeve change but if you revert it, sliding the new sleeve in will be as smooth as pulling the old one out. Indeed a smart accessory to accompany my other smart devices.

earphone

Performance wise I was pleased with the fullness of the sound – Adele sounds like she’s singing just for me, and I think Beethoven wouldn’t complain of the symphonic effect this tiny thing retains for my entertainment. There’s a slight bias on basses though so you’ll be all set for Lorde but when switching to Rihanna you might need a little adjustment (for example a change of song). Sound balance is pleasant – try “Rewind” by Devlin ft. Diane Birch and you will be able to detect the rapper’s englishness even if you haven’t known him before. Intriguingly, the sound differs a little when I listen to the same songs on my phone – a more “live” component suddenly adds in, delivering a performance feel versus that from a studio record. I’m a fan of performing art so by all means, love it.

Earphone

One thing I find strange with this otherwise near perfect earphone is the size of the pouch. I haven’t been successful in storing the whole earphone inside it – either the cord will pop up, or one of the earplugs dangle loosely around. But then I look at all the promo images of Sudio Klang earphone on the mighty web and find none with a closed pouch. Maybe it’s intended to never fully close so that at least one part of this slick thing can call out to you (and anyone near you) then. That’s ok with me. I come to like to flaunt it around now.

Conclusion: at just $60, free shipping worldwide, Sudio Klang is a good buy for its sonic clarity and elegant features. I like bass (though not all about it), and my fashion radar already tunes in. Enjoy yours!

ASUS ZenFone 2 Malaysia First Impressions: 4GB RAM BEAST

ZenFone 2 is attracting many people these days. As we have mentioned before, ASUS Malaysia brings all 4 ZenFone 2 Variants to Malaysia. The ASUS ZenFone 2 Malaysia Prices will start at RM599 for the ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE550CL 5″ Version and up to RM1,299 for the ASUS ZenFone 2 4GB RAM Version. And in this post today, we would like to look at ZenFone 2 in terms of our first impressions.

ASUS zenfone 2

ASUS ZenFone 2 Looks:

In comparison with other phones belonging to ASUS family, ZenFone 2 is not very different. It is made with metallic back and general styling. It has 5.5” display Full HD; yet is a bit shorter than OnePlus One 5.5” (152.5mm as compared to 152.9mm, respectively), but totally wider (77.2mm to 75.9mm). ZenFone 2 comes with the thickness of 3.9mm at its thinnest point. This smartphone weighs 170 gram, not light but not too heavy. Somehow you can relate to the iPhone 6 Plus with the weight of 172 gram. It is solid enough and likely to fit most common palms partly thanks to its slightly curved back.

AsusZenfone2

On the front surface, ZenFone 2 includes three button beneath: Back, Home, and Multi-tasking. There is also a new rear mounted control underneath the camera for users to take photos or adjust the volume. With that arrangement, the phone’s sides are completely bare. The power button is on the top of ZenFone 2. Some people do not think that is a good choice because of the size of the phone. Users may feel harder to reach the button on the top than on one side.

ZenFone 2

Well, until now, you can see that ZenFone 2 and its predecessor have many things in common, right?!

Let’s talk about ASUS ZenFone 2 Malaysia versions:

The first in ZenFone distinctive versions is Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) with a 5.5” full IPS screen, 4GB RAM (the world’s first smartphone with such spec), a quad-core 64-bit 2.3GHz Z3580 Atom processor, a 3,000mAh battery, and 32GB of storage. Rounding off the back is a 13MP f/2.0 camera with a dual LED flash and the front is a 5MP front snapper. Besides, if you want larger storage, you can choose 64GB version. Aside from such a crazy amount of RAM that would help it deal with high load apps, we also have a variant ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML) with 5.5″ FHD, 2GB RAM, 1.8GHz Z3560, and 32GB ROM.

zenfone 2 versions

Next is the ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML) with a 5.5” 720p IPS display, 2GB RAM, and a 1.8GHz Z3560 quad-core processor. Apart from those things, this version shares the rest of the phone’s qualities. Both ZE550ML and ZE551ML will be running Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI 2.0 on top and able to get an extra 5GB ASUS web storage.

For all ASUS ZenFone 2 Products, click HERE!

Last but not least, the model ZenFone 2 (ZE500CL) comes with a smaller screen of 5-inch HD 720p. It is equipped with an older 1.6GHz Z2560 processor, a 8MP rear – 2MP front cameras, and a smaller battery – 2,500mAh one.

ASUS ZenFone 2 Malaysia Prices:

The Zenfone 2 Malaysia has been officially launched not long ago and their prices are varied as the following:

ASUS ZenFone 2 Accessories:

Along with ZenFone 2, some new accessories for the phone are also produced. Three of them are two new camera accessories (ZenFlash and LolliFlash) and ZenPower 10050mAh powerbank.

ZenFlash, which is connected to the phone via the microUSB slot, is a rear mounted camera accessory that enable you to turn your ZenFone 2 into a high end DSLR-like camera. It also gives a huge boost to the details of photos taken in low lighting conditions. The ZenFlash price is about RM67.

ASUS-ZenFlash1

LolliFlash, which reminds us of a colorful lollipop, affixes to the device’s headphone jack. It can be used as a dual-toned LED torch to get more natural photos or maybe as a protective cover for the phone. The LolliFlash price is about RM33.

lolliflash

ZenPower powerbank has a higher 2.4A output helping charge quicker than standard 2.1A based powerbanks. Unfortunately it is only available in Indonesia market now with a price of about RM75.

zenpower

Those are first impressions for ZenFone 2. In general, it does well and looks well in relation to the ASUS ZenFone 2 Malaysia specs and prices. From our experience from the ZenFone 2 Event, it was for sure consistent and smooth, so in terms of performance, there will be no complaints. Nonetheless, we have to wait till it is tested in real life to see whether ZenFone 2 can beat other players or not. But let’s be honest, at a price of RM1099 for 4GB RAM – ASUS ZenFone 2 could be the Smartphone King 2015.
