Lately Sony has mentioned that they upgraded firstly Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z with Android 5.0 Lollipop, then rolled out for Xperia Z, Z1, Z2 and Z3.

So, what’s next?

The answer may get you excited since Sony confirmed that they will be upgrading those products along with Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 to Android 5.1 from July, 2015. Besides, due to receiving lots of feedback and requests to extend the list of products with Android Lollipop, finally Sony has decided to add Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua to the portfolio.

However, keep in mind that the timing and availability may vary by market, which means Sony Malaysia will either release the Android updates in July also or perhaps later.

 

How can we update our Xperia devices?

To check the availability of updates, we can go to Settings -> About phone -> Software updates, and next select System updates. Otherwise, you can download and install new software by using your computer and a USB cable.
