New 4G Xiaomi LeadCore Phone passes TENAA – 225 RM?

In November we heard the news that Xiaomi will be launching a Leadcore cpu-powered smartphone, that could cost as low as 399 Yuan, 65USD and would still sport 4G LTE. Now Xiaomi’s newest 4G low-cost phone just got certification by TENAA, China’s equivalent of SIRIM. We already know some of the specs of Xiaomi’s newest phone.

The most important news about the new Xiaomi Leadcore phone is that it will have 4G LTE, which is very nice at this low price. So far all the news and rumors really point at a price of just 399 Yuan, which Xiaomi mainly achieves by using the low-cost Leadcore processor.

Design wise the new Xiaomi 4G phone looks a lot like the Xiaomi Redmi 1S. The gadget has the same capacitive buttons as the Redmi 1S and has a more understated design. So far we know the xiaomi leadcore device will support TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA/GSM Networks.

Additional specs include a 720 display, 1G GB of RAM and the Leadcore 1860CPU. The Leadcore 1860 is built by 28nm Cortex A7 structure and can be theoretically clocked up to 2GHZ and has the Mali T628 GPU. While we most likely wont see this in a 65USD chipset, the Leadcore 1860 can theoretically support 2K displays and 1080p FULL HD videos.

The device resembles the Redmi 1S handset from Xiaomi to some extent, you get the capacitive buttons below the display and the design doesn’t exactly scream “look at me!”, but it does the trick. The device has support for GSM / TD-SCDMA / TD-LTE network bands. The handset uses Leadcore 1860 (LC1860) processor, while it features a 720p display and 1GB of RAM, which is rather staggering if you consider the price point.

We do not have an official name for the new Xiaomi phone yet, but considering it has already passed the TENAA Certification it will very likely launch in the next weeks in China. If Xiaomi can really keep the price level of 399 Yuan for a 4G phone, this phone will sell crazy in all Xiaomi markets.
