According to the tech page Tom’s Guide, they has just examined some smartphones’ quick charging ability. They consist of ASUS ZenFone 2, Samsung Galaxy S6, Google Nexus 6, Motorola Droid Turbo, Apple iPhone 6, LG G4 và OnePlus 2. We can see that those are famous and amazing phones from big firms. Then, if they have good results, it will make their brand more popular and convincing. Don’t you think?

In this test, the examiners have some fixed time points which are 5 minutes, 15 minutes, and 30 minutes. Besides, they also check the charging ability when the batteries of the above machines want to reach 80% and 100%.

In case of getting 100% of batt, we’ve got results as the following: Samsung Galaxy S6 takes 1 hour and 22 minutes, LG G4 1 hour and 36 minutes, Droid Turbo 1 hour and 47 minutes, Nexus 6 1 hour and 49 minutes, ZenFone 2 1 hour and 49 minutes, OnePlus 2 2 hours and 10 minutes and finally iPhone 6 1 hour and 49 minutes. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Malaysia be available with Dual-SIM variant only

Recently, some news sources have announced that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus will come to Malaysia with dual SIM feature, but how about microSD card slot?

As we mentioned in a post before, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with model number SM-N9208 would come along with quad-band 2G, dual-band 3G, and 4 LTE bands (850/18002600). Besides, the device would sport a dual SIM. Locally it would support Wi-fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, NFC and ANT+. So, they are what we know for sure about Samsung Galaxy Note 5 now.

Furthermore, some more info related to this flagship duo has been claimed that both Note 5 and S6 edge Plus will lack removable batteries and expandable storage, just like their elder brother Samsung Galaxy S6 launched at the beginning of the year. Though a rumor has been raising on the internet these days, saying that Note 5 will have a hybrid SIM tray slot for users to put a microSD card in, it is wrong info and not going to happen in Malaysia.

As for the price tag, both devices are expected to arrive in Malaysia in early September, a few days later than our neighbor Singapore. Accordingly, Note 5 hit the Singaporean market last Saturday, 15 August, 2015 with two color options: Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum. However, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ will make it on 22 August, 2015 with prices set as below:

– Samsung Galaxy Note 5 32GB: SGD1,088 (~RM3,190)
– Samsung Galaxy Note 5 64GB: SGD1,188 (~RM3,483)
– Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus 32GB: SGD1,188 (~RM3,483)
– Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus 64GB: SGD1,288 (~RM3,776)

Well, basing on this list of prices in Singapore and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 price in Malaysia (RM2,499), we predict that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 price in Malaysia would be ranging from RM2,900 to RM3,500 and S6 edge Plus from RM3,400 to RM3,800.

note 5

In conclusion, we think maybe we have to get used to the fact that most flagship phones nowadays and in the future will be coming with no microSD card slot.

Nokia was the first to make AMOLED Display, NOT Samsung ?

Samsung is known for many high-end features and one of them is AMOLED screen, even we are now having the Super AMOLED display . Most high-end models are equipped with this technological displays. Nevertheless, this invention was not first made by Samsung but Nokia.

Originally launched in 8/2008, Nokia N85 is the first phone models to be equipped the Amoled screen with dimension of 2.6-inches and a resolution of 240×320. N85 is the smart phones using the Symbian operating system. Moreover, the device can slide in both directions with the purpose to use its special functions.

n85

At the time of 2008, the N85 is equipped some of extremely notable features such as 3.5 G connectivity, Wi-Fi, 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and autofocus capabilities

The first machine of Samsung to use the AMOLED display is the  i7110 is the machine which was launched in October 2008. Until Febuary 2009, this new model officially appeared on the market.  Sharing the same similarities of the N85, Samsung i7110 uses Symbian operating system and has a 2.6 inch AMOLED screen with the 240×320 resolution and candybar design, but it cannot be slipped.

In 2008, there were various types of handsets came with the OLED display. However, the Amoled was introduced as an advanced technology which had lower power consumption and better frequency response times.  At that time,  the first two handsets equipped AMOLED Screen performed quite poor under direct sunlight, both machines can not display well. Then, they are not the touch screens for sure.

How about you? Which was your first smartphone that have the AMOLED display feature? Tell us your stories 😉

Meizu MX5 Pro Plus to sport 2K screen, Exynos 7420 chip and 4GB RAM?

As what we have heard, Meizu is going to release a high-end smartphone equipped with an Exynos chip of Samsung.

According to a Chinese news source, Meizu is planning to use Exynos chip, a Samsung’s processor, for their upcoming flagship in late 2015. Many people assume that it can be the successor to the flagship Meizu MX5 launched in the middle of the year.

Meizu MZ5
Meizu MZ5 was launched in the middle of the year!

It is expected that the high-end Meizu flagship will be Meizu MX5 Pro Plus, instead of the name Meizu MX5 Pro like it was rumored before. In addition, it will be the main Meizu product to join the race and compete with other strong devices such as Xiaomi Mi Note, Xiaomi Mi Note Pro and perhaps even the most anticipated Xiaomi Mi5 and Xiaomi Mi5 Plus. To support their fighter, Meizu is said to be considering choosing Samsung Exynos 7420 chip. Well, will it be a good choice?

meizu

Maybe! Exynos 7420 is the chip that is being used for most premium handsets of Samsung like Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, and the latest duo Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus. So, if Meizu MX5 Pro Plus is really going to include this one plus other top specs, it can become a super “tough guy” that other brands should be watching out.

On the other hand, another reason for Meizu to opt for this Samsung chip is that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 is receiving many complaints due to causing overheating issue. Meanwhile, though MediaTek chips have good quality and price, they are not likely to bring premium feeling for a flagship phone. As a result, it seems like Samsung’s SoC Exynos 7420 is the best option at the moment.

In terms of Meizu MX5 Pro Plus specs, we are not informed of much info but pieces we collected are quite important. Specifically, it will sport a 6-inch screen with Quad HD (1.536 x 2.560 pixel) resolution, 4GB RAM and a 20,7MP rear camera.

Meizu MX5 Pro Plus

Anyhow, apart from those features, we have no words made for other Meizu MX5 Pro Plus specs, Meizu MX5 Pro Plus launch date as well as Meizu MX5 Pro Plus price in Malaysia. However, we are pretty sure that it is a smartphone worth the wait. So, stay tuned! We will come back with more information!

Samsung Galaxy S7 leak: Snapdragon 820 and Android M

Many people wonder what Samsung company will do after Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus launched on August 13, 2015. So, here is  your answer: Samsung Galaxy S7!

We know that Samsung Galaxy S series is one of the main brands of Samsung and there is no doubt that the giant will maintain it for a long time. As a result, we are not very surprised once hearing about Samsung Galaxy S7 concept. Though, we are quite taken aback when information of it comes this early.

There is one recent leak in China showing a data interface related to Samsung, “MSM8996” (the model number of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip), and “Jungfrau” (the code name of a new Samsung Galaxy smartphone scheduled for release in 2016). It is likely that the new device of Samsung will be run by the new Snapdragon chip and even the new OS Android M.

If there is such a great machine coming next year, we guess it can be the flagship Samsung Galaxy S7. Possibly, Samsung has been currently examining the Snapdragon 820, totally different from the kind being used for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge (Exynos). Perhaps, SD820 is so good that Samsung cannot resist.

On the other hand, we figure out that if the manufacturer is starting testing the chip, it may be in the very last stage to be fully finished and rolled out at the end of this year or in early 2016.

In conclusion, we would be very glad if the Samsung Galaxy S7 leak turns out to be true. Hopefully, more details of Samsung Galaxy S7 will come out in the near future.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge plus (Dual-SIM version) spotted on SIRIM

The Dual-SIM version of Samsung seemed to be the most awaited product on recent market. Recently, not only the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 but also the Galaxy S6 edge+ with DUAL-SIM edition got the SIRIM certification.

The spotted Galaxy S6 edge+ model number in Malaysia will be the SM-G9287C. For the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, we got the SM-G920F and SM-G925F respectively. However, few days ago, with the Galaxy Note 5 carries the number SM-N9208, it was mysteriously deleted from the SIRIM’s list.

In terms of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ specs, it shares the same screen size with Galaxy Note 5. The smartphone gets 5.7-inches screen with double curve. Overall, it has many similarities to the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. But this device will come with larger 4GB of RAM and higher 3,000 mAh battery capacity. However, the S6 edge+ will also be alike the recent S6 edge with non-removable battery.

In addition, it is predicted that the dual-sim slot on device will be a hybrid of microSD and second SIM card option. This means the second slot will have to be sacrified if you need an expansion of memory.

The S6 edge+ device might not have of productivity S-Pen, the unique item of the Note series, but the amazing keyboard accessory was spotted. The keyboard allows users to experience the full QWERTY typing feeling.

As we can see that the Dual-SIMs trends have attracted many people and becomes the feature that many high-end smartphone manufacturers are concentrating in. For this reason, we can easily catch many Dual-SIM items from many famous brand such as Huawei P8, Xiaomi Mi Note, Sony Xperia Z3+ as well as HTC One E9+.

Galaxy S6 edge+ launch time will be on this Thursday, the same launching date of Galaxy Note 5 tablet which is considered to be the most awaited item too !
