Samsung Galaxy J7 review: LED flashes for both cams
Samsung Galaxy J7 is considered as a smartphone owning many impressive features. Now, let’s review what it’s got for the design, specs and price to know why J7 is so attractive!
Samsung Galaxy J7 review
Samsung Galaxy J7 Design
Samsung Galaxy J7 belongs to the mid-range phone category. Though it looks pretty simple, J7 is still able to impress people with its Samsung traditional design, containing a physical Home button on the front surface but it does not take up too much space. We can hold the phone easily and comfortably. There are 4 rounded corners, a big screen on the front (with a size of a phablet) together with a secondary camera, a speaker and LED flash. However, the back of J7 looks not really as cool as we expected since the design of the main snapper is not attractive.
Well, if we had to grade the Samsung Galaxy J7 design, we would go with 7/10. Do you agree?
Samsung Galaxy J7 Specs
As for the specifications, there is a 5.5-inch HD display that can bring users high quality when they play games or watch movies. The whole machine is powered by a Snarpdragon 615 64-bit octa-core chip paired with high-end Adreno 405 GPU, 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Although the package of Samsung Galaxy J7’s features is not the best once compared with others in its kind, J7 is able to deliver pretty good productivity, smoothness and speed.
For a mid-ranger like J7, it is not very surprising when it has a combo of a 13MP rear and 5MP selfie camera, but the fact that it is equipped with LED flashes for both shooters makes us excited. Then, we can take beautiful pictures even in low-light conditions.
Summary of Samsung Galaxy J7 specs:
OS: Android 5.1
Chip: Snapdragon 615
RAM: 1.5GB
Display: Super AMOLED 5.5″ HD
ROM: 16GB (expandable)
Camera: 13MP, AF, LED Flash, f/1.9 + 5 MP, LED Flash
Thickness: 7.5mm
Weight: 170g
Battery: 3,000mAh
Samsung Galaxy J7 Price in Malaysia
It is priced at RM999, which seems an OK amount of money for those who want to buy a Samsung smartphone. Yet, we have to say that with RM999 or perhaps less than RM999, we can buy another one which is stronger in terms of specs. Nonetheless, a truth which cannot be denied is that Samsung products are usually said to work well. Therefore, you do not have to worry about its quality.
CONCLUSION
We have been through the review of Samsung Galaxy J7 design, specs and price. In general, they are a good combination. J7 still has its own advantage such as the front-facing cam coming along with a LED flash. So, if you are looking for a new smartphone for under RM1000, you can totally take J7 into consideration.

Samsung Galaxy A9: 5.5″ FHD, 3GB RAM and 16MP ROTATING CAMERA
Samsung sometimes comes up with great things like the curved screen of Samsung Galaxy edge series and they have kept developing them. Interestingly, some smartphone giants like Apple or Xiaomi also have been rumored to adopt that idea in the future. So, we have hope that Samsung could have something new in the upcoming months. And that day has come but we are not sure if it is new enough!

A few weeks ago, there was a smartphone from Samsung company allegedly called Samsung Galaxy A9 after a device coded as SM-A9000 was through the AnTuTu benchmark test. And recently, some pictures of the Samsung Galaxy A9 have been leaked on the internet, showing a handset with a rotating camera, which reminds us of OPPO N1 immediately. On the other hand, its front-facing speakers at the bottom of the phone also makes us think about an HTC smartphone. That is why we said that we were afraid that Samsung would not be able to bring consumers a special machine in terms of both design and specs.
As for the Samsung Galaxy A9 spec, it is said that the handset will sport a 5.5-inch Full HD screen and a Snapdragon 620 chipset (which is the latest one from Qualcomm and will be released at the end of the year). Additionally, an octa-core 1.8GHz CPU and the Adreno 510 GPU will be on-board as well. Other features include 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (we do not know if it can be expandable or not), and Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.
However, the manufacturer has not confirmed anything yet, so we should take the information as well as images with a pinch of salt. We will come back if there are more details about Samsung Galaxy A9 😀 .
How to make Samsung Galaxy Note 5 back transparent?
Samsung has just announced their Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Pink Gold lately. Though, no matter what color it is, your smartphone is still not really outstanding. So, how about making the Note 5 back cover transparent? 😎
How to make Samsung Galaxy Note 5 back transparent?
It is a genius, isn’t it? But note that Samsung is not the one that creates such a style. In fact, over at Reddit, a user with the name of Skarface08 has posted a pic of a transparent Galaxy Note 5 along with some basic steps to make it.
Actually, the idea is to remove the color film under the phone’s glass back. At first it sounds pretty simple since it is like you just need to take the film out of the machine, yet when we remember the rear of the Galaxy Note 5 is non-removable, we wonder how he/she can do it. Luckily, removing the back is not that hard! A razor blade, a suction cup, and a heat gun will help you.
“You first have to heat it up. I use a Ecoheat gun that gets it really hot, the use a suction cup to pry the back off. After that you let it cool off a bit and take off all the film with a razor blade. Then i just stuck it back on the phone because there was already adhesive on the actual device,” according to Skarface08.
In general, we love such a unique transparent Samsung Galaxy Note 5 so much and hope that someday the company will produce a smartphone like that. However, at the moment, if you are considering doing so, please keep in mind that some unexpected problems may happen and make you lose the warranty of your device although the whole process seems not very difficult. For more tips on how to do it, click HERE.
In case of being able to turn your Note 5 into a transparent one, do not forget to share with us, okay 😉 ?!
Samsung Galaxy S7 edge concept: Breathtakingly beautiful design
Samsung Galaxy S6 edge has brought Samsung great success and a good sign showing that they are using the right material and design for their smartphones. And if the company is working on a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge to launch with Samsumg Galaxy S7 in the future, it is not something much surprising. However, the question is that whether S7 edge can be as successful as its predecessor?
There are still several months before the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge release date, but many Samsung fans cannot wait to see it in real life. As a result, concepts for S7 edge were born to satisfy people’s desire as well as curiosity.
Here we got one and a special thing about it is that Galaxy S7 Edge takes the trapezoid shape, looking pretty similar to a device in a Samsung’s recent patent. In the pictures, we see that extra display space replaces bezels on Samsung Galaxy S6 edge and almost move to the top and the bottom of the device.
In general, the handset seems strong and sturdy even without the physical home button. The rear camera is designed in a beautiful way and it seems hard for the cam’s lens to be scratched or damaged. On the other hand, there are volume control buttons placed on one side of the phone.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge specs, we are not aware of much information about them but prediction is that S7 edge features will be similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 specs. For example, it can boast a Force Touch-like display, a USB Type-C port, fast charging and data transferring tech (those are what we heard about the Galaxy S7 specifications).
In the end, though it is a concept, we hope that it will come true since the design is gorgeous. Don’t you think?
Are you willing to exchange a Galaxy Note 5 for a OnePlus 2?
Remember when OnePlus One was introduced last year, it stirred the mobile market like a storm. And we thought it would happen again with the OnePlus 2. However, things did not seem to happen that way. The OnePlus team has had a harder time mainly because of the OnePlus 2 launch and selling method.
We also thought they would give up, but with the information appearing these days, perhaps OnePlus will once again join the competition with a mid-range phone called OnePlus X. Moreover, we are aware that they recently have enabled those without invites to buy a OP2 and launched a new contest where people can give their Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, or Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to the company in order to take a free OnePlus 2 in return. But, it is important to note that OnePlus has promised to donate those phones to a charitable organization called Hope Phones, helping bring medical tech to where it is needed.
Although their intention is good, honestly, we do not think it works. Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge Plus and Note 5 cost much more than OnePlus 2. And it is not 100% sure that whoever donates will be able to get an OP2 back since OnePlus advertised it as a contest, only shipping 50 units in total and picking the winner randomly. Then, how can people feel like participating in?
To recap, we can see that OnePlus is trying their best to draw more people’s attention to their smartphones. Nevertheless, we also have a feeling that the contest cannot make it. Do you agree?

Samsung Z3: Look like Note 5 with 120-degree angle selfie cam for RM540
Besides the big sub-brand Samsung Galaxy, the company has created a new series known as Samsung Z. Its first member, if you remember, is Samsung Z, which was launched in June last year, and then we had Samsung Z1, launched in January, 2015. Ten months after that, they decided to continue developing this sub-brand by introducing a new handset called Samsung Z3, announced just a few days ago…
So, to make you understand more about the Samsung Z3, here are some interesting facts you need to know!
Samsung Galaxy Z3 Specs
This is a mid-range phone, but it’s got a super AMOLED 5-inch display, Tizen 2.3 OS, a dual SIM and 5MP wide-angle front camera, which are pretty good for normal use. Additionally, Samsung Z3 also supports Ultra Data Saving mode in order to help save money for using 3G.
| Samsung Z3 | |
| Dimensions | 141.6 x 70 x 7.9 mm |
| Weight | 137 g |
| Display | 5.0-inch HD (~294 ppi) Super AMOLED |
| OS | Tizen OS, v2.3 |
| Processor | Spreadtrum Quad-core 1.3 GHz |
| ROM | 8 GB (expandable up to 128 GB) |
| RAM | 1 GB |
| Camera | Rear: 8 MP, LED flashFront: 5 MP |
| Battery | Li-Ion 2600 mAh |
| Color | Black, Silver, Gold |
| SIM | Dual SIM |
Samsung Z3 Design
As for the design, Z3 seems pretty “manly” due to the square-shaped form, but it does not mean that only men can use Z3. It is still a good choice for those who like square 😀 . Moreover, looking the phone from the back will make you think that is the premium flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 5, which means Z3 may be cheap in the price, but not cheap in the look at all. And apart from the basic colors such as black and white, Samsung Z3 also comes with gold color.
Samsung Z3 Price
Though Samsung Z3 is listed as a mid-range phone, it is still able to attract many people by its wide angle selfie camera, up to 120 degrees to be specific. Back to July, 2015, Z3 used to be mentioned as a phone running on Tizen OS with super affordable price. And yes, it did come true. It is priced at 130 USD (which is around RM540 for the Samsung Z3 price in Malaysia).
Conclusion
Samsung not only releases high-end smartphones but they also care about other ranges. Samsung Z3 appears a good device in its kind. So, let’s wait for Z3 to come to Malaysia 😉 !
P/S: We also wonder is that why Z3? Where is Z2? Can you help us find a good explanation for this?
Samsung Galaxy S7 specs will come with three different chips!
Lately, a piece of information has mentioned that Samsung is very optimistic about the future of the new Exynos 8890 chipset with Mongoose CPU. It will give high productivity and be used for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7. However, another source has informed that Samsung Galaxy S7 will not only be run by the Exynos 8890; there are up to 3 variants with 3 different processors…
Samsung Galaxy S7 specs will come with three different chips!
Yes, it is said that Samsung company will probably offer 3 versions of Samsung Galaxy S7 perhaps in order to satisfy more types of consumers. Moreover, Samsung has planned to add the Exynos 7422 chip into Samsung Galaxy S7 Specs for Indian market, and Exynos 8890 (as known as Exynos M1 achieving some super impressive scores in benchmark testing) for Korean, Japanese and European ones. Meanwhile, the well-known Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (shipping with the high-end Adreno 530) will also appear in another ver for American and Chinese markets.
If everything turns out to be true, it can be the first time Samsung releases a flagship with 3 different chips. Yet, we wonder if that is a wise strategy or not when they do something unusual.
We are not sure whether Samsung Galaxy S7 launch date will happen in early 2016 and reach consumers by the end of the Quarter 1, 2016. Though, in the end, no matter how hard the company is trying to introduce their device as soon as possible, it has to take some more months until the phone is completed. And things can change!
Well, what do you think about the above idea? And which one would you like to choose? Share with us your opinions 😉 !
Very FIRST smartphones coming with HUGE 6GB RAM in the world !!!
This year, we have witnessed the birth of the world’s first 4GB RAM smartphone coming from ASUS, and then it has been turning into a gorgeous trend. Most mobile manufacturers have at least one device sporting 4GB RAM. So, we guess that since this feature is becoming so popular as time passes by, something more remarkable will be invented. And, it seems like this time it will be Samsung to lead the game. They are said to be working on a new LPDDR4 DRAM for the next Generation 6GB RAM smartphones, hopefully in 2016.
Here we are in the last months of 2015, which is also the right time for us to start looking around for leaked news about the first smartphones to come with such gigantic 6GB RAM.
Check out the following 5 devices we collected from the internet!
1. Samsung Galaxy S7
First, we have the flagship Samsung Galaxy S7, the successor to the well-known dual Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. Of course Samsung will not want to miss this chance to be the pioneer. We can easily see that Galaxy S7 is coming and Samsung is rumored to be release a 6GB RAM phone in the future. So, why can’t S7 be that 6GB RAM smartphone?
According to the leak, Samsung Galaxy S7 specs will include a dual camera setup, 6GB of RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Though there is no word made for the Samsung Galaxy S7 camera sensor at the moment, we believe they will just make it super well, for this giant has been famous all over the world for their premium shooters.
2. ASUS ZenFone 3
Coming up next is the ASUS ZenFone 3. Some people think perhaps ASUS will be able to repeat their success with ASUS ZenFone 2 and it can be the ZenFone 3 to be the world’s first 6GB RAM device, not the Galaxy S7. Who knows, right? Earlier, some said the ASUS ZenFone 3 would come with 5GB RAM, yet it was before Samsung announced their 6GB RAM for smartphones. As a result, our logic is that ASUS will grab this chance to join the 6GB RAM battle!
3. Sony Xperia QT
Sony Xperia Q line is a concept which quite surprises us. They are pretty awesome, honestly. They mention that there will be two versions named Sony Xperia QA and Sony Xperia QT. While the Xperia QA only sports 3GB RAM, making it a lower end variant, the Sony Xperia QT specs will be the higher end one and totally fit our category in this post when boasting 6GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 hands-on: Queen of the Notes
This year, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 came along with Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus. It is said to be more advanced than its predecessor Samsung Galaxy Note 4. However, due to lack of microSD card slot and a big battery, the Note 5 did not receive much positive feedback.
In general, Galaxy Note 5 design looks like the original Samsung Galaxy S6 in the front surface and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge in the rear. When compared to the Note 4, the 5 is more sturdy with a stronger mental frame.
In terms of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 specs, there is actually not many differences in comparison with the duo Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge specs. The phone still uses the Exynos octa-core chip. One advanced feature here is the powerful 4GB RAM LDDDR4 and the internal storage has been changed to the UFS 2.0 standard enabling faster transferring speed.
On the other hand, the S-Pen is also a plus for the Note 5. Samsung improved the pen a lot to make it a useful companion. You do not have to pull it out of the silo like before. There is a small button on the handset; you just need to press it and slowly take the pen out. Nonetheless, some people think that the new way does not really help except bringing a more modern and interesting feeling.
For more details about the Galaxy Note 5 specs, check out the following summary:

Samsung profit report in Q3: Nearly 80% jump compared to last year
Semiconductors and displays are the main factors that help Samsung revive. Their shares increased with the highest rate since 2009…
According to some analysts, Samsung Electronics could generate profit below market expectations due to its unimpressive performance of the mobile unit. However, recently, Samsung has released a profit report which proved them wrong.
Specifically, Samsung’s shares increased 8.7%, which is said to be the biggest jump since 2009. Though the whole results were not totally announced, just looking at the operating income that rose to $6.3 billion can tell how great the company has done. That is a HUGE 79.8% jump if compared to the same period last year. Good job, Samsung!
In addition, semiconductors and displays are the ones that help Samsung become so strong. They contributed much to the success of many recent Samsung Galaxy flagships that are competing well with Apple iPhones together with Chinese and Indian devices. Moreover, the semiconductor business of Samsung is gaining profits from providing components for Apple iDevices. And if Samsung just keeps doing well, they will be able to stand still at the top place among semiconductor producers, making it five quarters in a row.
Also for the mobile division, analysts’ expectations are 24% rise compared with the last year (which is around $1.9 billion). And this time, Samsung will be able to see the year-on-year rise for the first time in sever quarters.
However, that is for the third quarter of 2015 when Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus were launched one month earlier than Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. In addition, Samsung smartphones have to fight with many high-end but cheaper handsets and low-end ones from Chinese and Indian makers. Note that the sub-$200 phones are mainly responsible for increasing the sales
Apart from such an impressive report, we wonder if Samsung can continue to do that in this Q4 once Samsung Galaxy S6 shipments are dropping “significantly” according to an IBK Securities analyst. He also adds that the Average Selling Price in September dropped 14%.
Well, anyway, we would like to congratulate Samsung on their results in Q3 and hope that they will remain the same or even develop more at the end of the year.
Smartphone concepts that will NEVER come true
Before an official smartphone debuts, usually we see their its concepts first, which is very beautiful and glossy. However, it hardly ever comes true! So, in this post, we would like to introduce 5 best smartphone concepts we wish were real!

In 2013, Samsung really surprised people when announcing that they would produce devices with bendable displays. It means that you could fold the phone and put in your pocket. Besides, the bendable display tech was also said to be last longer than other current techs.
There was time that people believed Samsung would soon release a Galaxy Note equipped with a bendable display at the end of 2013. Though, eventually, it turned out to be Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and somehow made consumers disappointed. Yet, fortunately, Samsung Galaxy Note edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge have been able to regain people’s trust and we hope that the bendable display will come true some time in the near future.
2. Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime
Last year, the flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 did not bring much success to the Korean giant. Therefore, many Samsung fans built up another variant of Galaxy S5 called Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime. Basically, Samsung Galaxy S5 design would come with a glossy metal cover, completely different from the plastic one on the original Samsung Galaxy S5. And of course, the Samsung Galaxy S5 specs were also more powerful. For example, the phone would sport a Snapdragon 805 chip, 3 GB RAM and a 2K screen. At that time, some said that Galaxy S5 Prime would be a great response to LG G3.
Nonetheless, the Prime did not get launched, but we think that Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge introduced this year have done better, instead.
3. Lumia 1030/McLaren
After a lot of mid-range smartphones running on Windows OS, it seemed like users really wanted a high-end handset with an awesome camera to come last year. As a result, Lumia 1030 (aka McLaren) concept was born. Accordingly, the Lumia 1030 would own a PureView snapper capable of up to 50 megapixels, much higher than Lumia 1020 in order to satisfy those who love taking photos.
Moreover, Lumia 1030 would also support short-pulse LED flash 4th generation instead of Xenon. It would help you capture things better at night. Sound good?
Unfortunately, Microsoft claimed that the Lumia 1030 project was officially canceled after that.
4. HTC O2
After the failure of HTC One M9, leaked information about HTC O2, a new sub-brand of HTC, has started to spread away. It was also predicted that the company was planning for a debut of a flagship sporting top specs, which would help increase their competing ability on the market.
In terms of HTC O2 Specs, there would be a Quad HD screen, MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core chip, 3GB or 4GB RAM and a camera with f/1.9 and OIS support.
Nevertheless, at the moment, some sources say that the HTC O2 plan has been stopped without specific any reasons. And no one knows if it can be continued in the future or not. Perhaps the appearance of the mid-ranger HTC One A9 with plastic design is a replacement. Don’t you think?
5. Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra
Last but not least, we have Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra. It was phablet planned to be launched last year. Moreover, many experts were so sure that Xperia Z4 Ultra was worth waiting most this year due to the amazing Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra Specs and super thin bezel design.
Spec-wise, the device would feature Qi wireless charging and Exmor RS 20.7MP sensor with 26,500 ISO, including recording 4K videos. Though Sony stated that they would get rid of the microSD card slot and increase the internal storage to 32GB.
Interestingly, at that time, the phone was rumored with the pretty name Sony Lavender, but in fact, Lavender is coded for the current Sony Xperia C5 Ultra. It shows that the Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra would never come to life.
Actually, there are a lot of phone concepts existing nowadays and some of them are super cool and potential enough to come true, like the Nokia Swan, ASUS ZenFone 3, etc. So, hopefully we will be able to see it someday.
