Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 launch in Malaysia – King of SUB RM750 phones

Many news sources have announced Xiaomi is going to hold an event in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, 3 November, 2015 and Hugo Barra, Vice President of International for Xiaomi, is likely to be there as well. So, we wonder what they are bringing to our country 😀 .

Xiaomi_Redmi_Note_2-3

Specifically, we think that can be Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, the one that has been stirring up the mobile market lately thanks to its powerful package of specifications and super good price. We say that because not long ago, Redmi Note 2 was spotted in certification databases of not only Singapore but also Malaysia. Therefore, there is a high possibility that the official Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 launch in Malaysia will happen on Nov 3 and the device will go on sale just shortly after.

Besides, the invite has been released and whatever the product introduced at the event is, it will be available for four markets: Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Price in Malaysia?

According to Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 2 16GB ROM plus dual 4G LTE version is priced at 899 CNY (RM605) in China. As a result, we believe the Redmi Note 2 price in MY will not change a lot, perhaps just ranging from RM610 to RM700. Wow, it will become the king of phones under RM750 for sure. Don’t you agree? We are at the end of October, which means there are only a few days ahead before Xiaomi Malaysia unveils their machine(s). Let’s wait and see what kind of surprise they will give us on Nov 3 😉 !

Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro certified at the FCC

We know Xiaomi is a big company focusing on smartphones in China now. As it is developing, expanding the market is something necessary and apparent. Specifically, Xiaomi is actually having some plans for some foreign markets, including the U.S. and it seems like they are taking some first steps since a Xiaomi phone has been spotted being certified.

redmi-2-pro_03

Not long ago, the Wall Street Journal reported Xiaomi was “considering entering the US market,” and nearly one week later we saw a Xiaomi smartphone show up on the FCC website. We recognize immediately that it is Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro coming with 2GB RAM.

We as well as many people feel a bit surprised since during the WSJ interview, Xiaomi hinted they were about to begin its U.S. operations with their 2 most outstanding devices Xiaomi Mi Note and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, not Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro. Nonetheless, some others agree that Redmi 2 Pro can be a good start as it is super suitable for entry-level to mid-range consumers.

In terms of Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro specs, it boasts a 4.7-inch HD display, a Snapdragon 410 SoC chip, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 2,200mAh battery. In addition, the version appearing in FCC filing is supported with GSM850/1900 and LTE bands 2, 4, and 7. Though, that is pretty an average package of features. So, we bet the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Pro price is definitely extremely affordable. Some sources mentioned Xiaomi has already sold this phone in select markets for around $110 and above.

Anyhow, please keep in mind that not every phone passing through the FCC will eventually go on sale in the U.S. But, this is a good sign for Xiaomi when at least it is being considered. Good luck, Xiaomi 🙂 !

Shoot down a spying drone without wasting a bullet!

Do you like drone? Do you like see a drone approaching your place and observing what you are doing? If not, there is no problem at all, right?! But if yes, what will you do? Will you whip out a 12-gauge shotgun every time it whizzes over your porch? If you are not allowed to do that, so what’s the other way?

While it might drain all the fun out of drone hunting, there is now a non-kinetic alternative to taking out unmanned aerial nuisances that won’t send dozens of tiny, potentially lethal metal pellets speeding through the air toward your neighbor’s pool party.

The Ohio-based applied science and technology group Battelle has developed a system named “DroneDefender” to make drones unable to continue flying “without compromising safety or risking collateral damage.”

In other words, DroneDefender is like a weapon to fight against an alien, but do not take it too seriously 😀 . In fact, it makes use of a harmless directed-energy pulse to disrupt the radio frequencies that control the drone’s flight. “It basically makes the drone think that it’s gone out of range,” said Dan Stamm, Battelle senior researcher. Therefore, you will no longer experience the unpleasant feeling of watching a drone spying us and any bad consequences of shooting it down.

In addition, according to Stamm, the drone will follow one of three default commands: “It’ll either hover in position until the pilot can regain control link, it lands so the pilot can recover it physically, or it returns to its point of origin.”

Nonetheless, the DroneDefender is not likely to reach normal consumers soon since the radio frequencies it controls (aka jams) are being strictly regulated by the Federal Communications Commission. Yet, we have to admit that Battelle’s invention can enable law enforcement and other government authorities to stop drones without risking public safety.

Nokia E1 smartphone design includes specs

If Nokia Power Ranger can be a high-end smartphone to mark the Nokia’s comeback next year, Nokia E1 can be a mid-ranger helping Nokia get closer to consumers who want affordable devices…

Nokia-E1-front

Most of us know Microsoft took over the Nokia’s Lumia branding and Nokia would not produce smartphones until 2016 to complete the deal. And recently many sources have claimed that Nokia is working on designing new handsets for their comeback, which has been making a lot of people excited. While waiting for this, we found some interesting concepts that can inspire the company, from the high-end category to the low-end one. So, this time, let’s check out one belonging to mid-range: Nokia E1.

Nokia-E1-design-and-specs-b

Our first impression is that it is very beautiful. Every inch is perfect and outstanding from older handsets of the manufacturer. Specifically, the phone was designed by a Russian designer named Dmitriy Mezenin. If the E1 comes true, it should be made with a metal body though plastic is not too bad. Besides some nice curving, Nokia E1 has extremely thin borders and looks like running Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Nokia Z Launcher. Maybe Android 6.0 Marshmallow would be better!

Other Nokia E1 Specs will probably include a 2.3GHz Intel 64-bit Atom processor, PowerVR G6430 graphics, and a 4.95-inch Full HD IPS display. In addition, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 2700 mAh battery will be on-board, too. As for the camera, a 20MP rear and 5MP front-facing shooter seem to be… enough 😀 .

Nokia-E1-design-and-specs

About the Nokia E1 price, we assume that with such specifications and look, E1 may cost around $200-$250 (RM855-RM1,100). If so, Nokia E1 can beat a lot of rivals in its kind.

Anyhow, those are some features coming along with the render Nokia E1. Hopefully, the firm will consider it for their future’s products since it is so pretty, we have to say. Don’t you agree with us?

MWC 2016: Powerful phones in 2016 – 20.7MP cam and Snapdragon 820

We are pretty close to the end of 2015 and heading to 2016. As usual, we will be looking forward to MWC – Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry and where you can know about many new products and inventions to be launched in the future. Next year, MWC 2016 will take place in Barcelona, Spain from Monday through Thursday, 22-25 February 2016. However, the main point in this post is that what smartphones which will be introduced there are. Let’s figure it out with us!

If MWC 2015 had HTC One M9, Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, Microsoft Lumia 640, Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, Huawei Honor 6 Plus, ZTE Star 2, Nokia N1, etc. as some of the highlights, MWC 2016 should have the following devices:

#1: A foldable/bendable smartphone – Maybe from Samsung:

This can totally come true since we have heard about a project of Samsung in which they are preparing and developing a kind of phone featuring 2 screens and it can be folded, literally. This is considered as a truly new step in the smartphone world and Samsung does have whatever it takes to commercialize as well as make money with this new machine.

Samsung Foldable Smartphone

#2: HTC One M10:

At MWC 2015, HTC One M9 was announced and there is a high possibility that its successor, a phone called HTC One M10, will see the light at MWC 2016. But HTC One M10 should sport a better battery and new features like a fingerprint or iris scanner. On the other hand, some source mentioned that One 10 could be known as HTC O2, said to be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a huge 6-inch Quad HD screen displaying Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. As for the camera, there are will probably be a 20.7MP rear snapper with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP selfies shooter. Last but not least, the handset will be powered by a 3,500mAh battery. What do you think about such HTC One 10 specs?

#3: Samsung Galaxy S7:

These days we have been hearing a lot of news related to the next flagship of Samsung. It is Samsung Galaxy S7. It is said that Samsung company will probably offer 3 versions of Samsung Galaxy S7 perhaps in order to satisfy more types of consumers. Moreover, Samsung has planned to add the Exynos 7422 chip into Samsung Galaxy S7 Specs for Indian market, and Exynos 8890 (as known as Exynos M1 achieving some super impressive scores in benchmark testing) for Korean, Japanese and European ones. Meanwhile, the well-known Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (shipping with the high-end Adreno 530) will also appear in another ver for American and Chinese markets.

#4: Samsung Galaxy S7 edge:

We really hope that Samsung will also bring the edge version of S7 to WMC 2016. And it will be awesome if the phone looks like the concept we have seen recently.

The concept shows that S7 edge takes the trapezoid shape, looking pretty similar to a device in a Samsung’s recent patent. In the pictures, we see that extra display space replaces bezels on Samsung Galaxy S6 edge and almost move to the top and the bottom of the device.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge

As for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge specs, we are not aware of much information about them but prediction is that S7 edge features will be similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 specs. For example, it can boast a Force Touch-like display, a USB Type-C port, fast charging and data transferring tech (those are what we heard about the Galaxy S7 specifications).

#5: Windows 10 smartphones:

It seems like Windows Phone cannot really compete effectively with Andoid OS or iOS, it is still a well-known one. Moreover, Windows 10 Mobile is here and we see how cool Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL are, so hope that Microsoft will bring something even cooler than that duo to impress us.

#6: Chinese smartphones:

We noted that Huawei and ZTE always had big stands at MWC, and that can happen at MWC 2016 again with more eye-catching handsets. Besides, we would like to see a real flagship in terms of both specs and design from not only Huawei and ZTE but also other famous Chinese manufacturer such as OnePlus, OPPO, Meizu and Xiaomi.

PREDICTION:

Though there is no reliable source for some other phones like LG G5, Sony Xperia Z6 and Motorola Moto X (2016) launching in Barcelona, we hope they can find a way to be on the MWC 2016’s stage.

CONCLUSION:

MWC 2016 is ahead and we should be prepared to welcome many remarkable and beautiful machines from Samsung, LG, Huawei, etc. when the time comes 😉 !

Xiaomi MIUI 7 OS for specific phones: Xiaomi Mi Note, Xiaomi Mi4, Mi…

If you are looking forward to seeing the new Xiaomi MIUI 7 OS on your Xiaomi devices globally, the wait is about to end today, October 27, 2015!

MIUI-71

“We are really excited to announce MIUI 7 global stable build for MIUI fans all around the world. With two months of testing and optimization, MIUI 7 global stable version is to roll out from Oct. 27, 2015. Yours by design! Get ready for upgrade,” said Xiaomi.

Lately, the company has announced which of their smartphones will be receiving the update. They are Xiaomi Mi Note, Xiaomi Mi4, Xiaomi Mi3, Xiaomi Redmi 2/Prime, Xiaomi Redmi 1S 3G, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and Xiaomi Mi Pad. Unfortunately, we do not see any signs of  phones like Xiaomi Mi4i or Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. That is quite strange since they are also popular Xiaomi products. Hopefully, the manufacturer will add more phones to this list in the near future.

MIUI-7-global-rollout-on-7-

Anyhow, for those who are using one (or more 😀 ) of the handsets listed above, you can install the latest OS from Xiaomi today and enjoy all the interesting new features it has such as face detection mode, ‘Goddess’ theme, and Mi Roaming.

Additionally, according to many sources, Xiaomi revealed that the MIUI 7 China stable build (aka Chinese version of Xiaomi MIUI 7 OS) would be available for Xiaomi Mi2/2S, Xiaomi Mi3, aomi Mi4, Xiaomi Mi4c, Xiaomi Mi4i, Xiaomi Mi Note, Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, Xiaomi Mi Pad, Xiaomi Redmi 1S W, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.

And here is some tips for you to install MIUI 7. First, find a stable and fast Wi-Fi network before trying the upgrade. Second, make sure that your machine’s battery level is over 50% because an OTA update will absolutely waste a lot of energy. Then, press the button to download the OTA update and wait 😉 !

In conclusion, some specific Xiaomi smartphones have been confirmed for both the Chinese and global roll-out of the Xiaomi MIUI 7 at the moment. So, what are you waiting for? Check them out now and see if your machine is one of them 😎 !

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro first images leaking

I believe by now, many of us Mi lovers are waiting for the next sign of upcoming Xiaomi Mi5 to be launched. And yet, on some online resources, users spotted and alleged image, claimed to be of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro

As the name suggests, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro should the updated version of currently popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. However, the only difference we spotted for now is just a metal casing instead of plastic. Other Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro specs look quite similar to it predecessor.

Alleged-images-of-the-Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-2-Pro-leak (1)

Therefore, some expected Redmi Note 2 Pro specs include a 5.5-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution. The device will be powered by 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage toghether with MediaTek MT6795 chip set. Redmi Note 2 Pro cameras will feature the popular camera sensors: 13MP for rear camera and 5MP for front shooter.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro will have a decent 3060 mAH battery to help run the device for a good time. One more special thing about the Pro version is that it will have Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed.

In terms of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro design, the handset will be carrying a fingerprint scanner and full metal body. Seems like metal build and fingerprint scanner are the next popular specs future smartphone are going to sell on. (Recently introduced, we have Meizu Blue Charm metal also comes with these 2  features). Does metal body really matter that much? Many say the alloy makes the whole device look much classy and premium but what is your opinion?

For now, we don’t know yet about Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro release date or price in Malaysia. But as what we observe, it could carry a slightly higher price tag than its predecessor.

Do you think with kind of similar specs to the older model, and only a few new features, it is worth the update?  Share with us i fyou are using the Redmi Note 2 and whether you would want this Note 2 Pro 🙂

In terms of Sony Xperia Z5 Dual look, it uses OmniBalance design which is typical for the high-end Xperia series, including an all-alloy cover and rounded corners to bring consumers a premium feeling. 10 Best smartphones owning the highest Antutu scores in Q3

If in August we announced that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was the phone scoring the highest Antutu points, this time, we have to say that the Note 5 has been defeated by a Chinese smartphone. What is it? And how about the other spots of TOP 10 devices owing the highest Antutu scores in the Q3 of 2015? Let’s check out our list now 😉 !

1. Meizu Pro 5: 76,852

The first place goes to Meizu Pro 5. Congrats!

Meizu Pro 5 launch happened in September and it has been available on sale since this month. In terms of design, the Pro 5 dresses a glossy all-alloy cover with rounded corners, which somehow reminds us of Apple iPhone design. As for specifications, Meizu Pro 5 specs include fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port and fast charging function allowing the handset’s battery to get 65% within 30 minutes. Moreover, this brand new Meizu machine owns an Exynos 7420 chip of Samsung. This processor is said to be one of the strongest smartphone chips in 2015 and used for 2 Samsung flagships: Samsung Galaxy S6 and Note 5. That is also why we get this result!

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: Gaming phablet VS Legend tablet

Acer Predator 6, launched earlier in October, is such a hot beast that got attention from most of our users. Nokia N1 tablets, launched a while ago, is Nokia’s first attempt in the tablet category. However, despite the huge public attention, whether both the Nokia N1 and the Acer Predator 6 are wise movement from the companies is still an open-ended question.

That is also the reason why I came up with this comparison: Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1, to compare their selling points and what could hook users into them.

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: Gaming Phablet VS Camera Tablet

Acer Predator 6 display sports a generous 6 inch, which is huge compared to average smartphones. But such display is just perfect for the purpose Acer Predator 6 is serving: gaming device. A large display is exactly what every gamer is looking for to have maximum enjoyment with their favorite programs. –> true gaming beast

Nokia N1 tablet has a 7.9 inch display, which is quite popular for a tablet to date. Weighing 318g (which is close to double an average smartphone like the Asus Zenfone Selfie), Nokia N1 is handy and comfortable to hold enough for any action to be made on it. One thing to notice is that, with 8MP and 5MP sensors, the Nokia N1 cameras are quite premium compared to those sensors on other tablets. –> such a camera tablet

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: specs comparison

Acer Predator 6 has quite a high-end combination of specs. The device sports powerful 4GB RAM with amazing 10-core processor. This boosts the device’s performance and guarantees the fastest loading for “impatient” heavy gamers.

Meanwhile, Nokia N1 specs are considered high compared to typical tablets on our market also: a strong 2GB RAM with famous Intel chip, quad-core on board and a long-lasting 5,300 mAH. Perfect for those who are in need of constant use on a big-screen electronic device.

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: selling points

Acer Predator 6 is definitely the dream device of any heavy gamer out there (do that include yourself?). It looks stylish, with perfect specs, long battery and just right to work on any game you like. Yes, I would say that, a combination of strong design and stronger inside is what help sell this Acer Predator 6.

Nokia N1 – an Android-based tablet from the smartphone legend. Its name is powerful enough to attract lots of users. The tablet comes with elegant design, long battery, and especially a very decent camera (which is not easily found in others) are what help sell this Nokia N1.

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: and their draw backs

However, like most other devices, both of these have their certain draw backs. While the Acer Predator 6 is quite amazing, it only targets a small group of specific users, and comes with quite high price. (For now, we don’t know the exact Acer Predator 6 price in Malaysia yet, but we suppose it would not be less than RM2,760). These factors really limit the number of Acer Predator 6 units sold worldwide.

Talking about the other, Nokia N1 is a decent device from Nokia. While it has many strong points: good reputation, nice camera, long battery, there is one thing that can restrict sales: the category. As you may also notice, we are now more and more interested in smartphones rather than tablet, the Nokia N1 can lose many potential users for having a big and bulky display compared to those fit-in-your-pocket mobile handsets.

Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1: closing note

Both Acer and Nokia are vey famous mobile OEMs worldwide. We see their strong and weak points, and I bet they do also. I firmly believe that both companies have very clear business strategies and know what they are targeting.

I hope this Acer Predator 6 VS Nokia N1 comparison gave you a fuller look into these very interesting beasts, and maybe, help explain some of your questions about the two.
