iPhone 7 – 5 features you need to know: dual cameras, no headphone and a 2nd…
iPhone 7, regardless of all the mixed comments pouring over the internet, is forever and ever one of the most popular smartphones every one wishes to have/is curious about. iPhone 7 is nowhere close to its release date, yet rumors are suggesting these interesting features just don’t want to miss.
1. A stunning design
Do you still remember our previous article about 6 of the most gorgeous Apple iPhone 7 concepts introduced to the tech world by aspiring designers? Did you just simply fall in love with at least one of them? Apple is believed to be working their best to give iPhone 7 a stunning design with slim body and premium metal material. Whether they will choose to keep their signature design alive or give this phone a totally new look, we trust Apple to make a right decision of how this beast looks like
2. No headphone jack. Yes headphone jack.
A stunning design is also the reason why we have heard about this concept the past days. It all started when a source claimed that Apple is trying to make their new smartphone as slim as possible by killing the 3.5mm headphone jack. Later, other source suggested that the headphone jack is definitely one thing to stay. And the net keeps going around these arguments. For as far as we updated, it is very likely that Apple iPhone 7 will not have the jack, instead there will be 2 speakers, for the reason as explained in our previous article.
3. Dual camera set up
Earlier Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst from KGI, has supported the rumor that Apple is packing a dual camera set-up. If this becomes real, iPhone 7 will not be the first one to feature such sensor, yet contribute to make it a more popular trend for smartphones launched in 2016. What do you think about the idea that, a smartphone has not one, but 2 cameras to support one another and produce the best image quality possible?
4. OLED display and 3GB RAM
iPhone has always received mixed feed backs from its users and non-users for having such a small RAM (never passing 2GB). This time, with the brand new iPhone 7, it is being rumored that the smartphone will have an improvement with up to 3GB RAM. Besides, there will be an OLED display in exchange for LCD display used in the current iPhone 6. If this happens to be true, iPhone 7 will be making huge changes for what we know about Apple smartphones.
5. There will be a 4-inch iPhone 7c
And yes, Apple does have a plan to bring back that affordable 4 inch variant of their premium phones. If nothing changes, it seems very much like we will have iPhone 7c some time after they launch iPhone 7 flagship. There is not much information unveiled about this variant, yet we spotted a render design
iPhone 7: this is how the smartphone looks like without 3.5mm jack
Rumors have said that Apple is thinking of “killing” the 3.5mm earphone jack on the upcoming iPhone 7 to make the smartphone as slim as possible. Let’s take a look at how it will look without the jack
iPhone 7 – how it looks without earphone jack
The idea was made by designer Eric Huismann, by expressing the no-jack rumor onto a real concept design. To make it best he could, Huismann even include a Bluetooth earphone because the phone body is too slim to carry a 3.5mm jack. Huismann also replace the physical Home button we find on a typical iPhone these days with a 3D Touch Home button, coming along with interactive vibration to signal users when they touch the Home button.
Generally speaking, Huismann does make any significant change in the overlook of this iPhone 7 concept compared to the iPhone 6 and 6S we know as of now. However, the body is much slimmer, the back cover is smoother and flatter, and the camera module does not protrude on the back. To make his concept as realistic as possible, Huismann also desgined different variants for the upcoming iPhone 7, with different display sizes to best fit their category.
We all know that Apple has just launched iPhone 6S and 6S Plus not really long before. And because of that, it would take them a while more till the demand for the current smartphones cools down and till the right time for Apple to launch their later generation. However, we have seen and talked about many concept designs of the iPhone 7 up to now, including this latest design by Huismann.
iPhone 7 – next flagship smartphone of 2016
With the amount of rumors and attention we have known by far, seems like iPhone 7 is going to be a very strong smartphone of the upcoming year. Some iPhone 7 features to expect, if you have not known yet, include waterproof, OLED display, a bigger RAM and even more enhanced camera, which we expect 20MP or more.
This iPhone 6S clone costs only Rm160
iPhone 6S is a controversial device, which many people love and many people question why. Recently in China, a company in Shenzhen has introduced a clone to the iPhone 6s for a super tiny price tag of $37. This means the iPhone 6S clone price in Malaysia is only Rm 160. I suppose the clone is targeted to customers who don’t want to pay that much for the real handset, but still love to have a so-called iPhone to use.
iPhone 6S clone – what RM 160 can buy
Now, let’s take a closer look into the iPhone 6S clone. In terms of build, the clone has a 5 inch display with 960 x 540 resolution. The handset is powered by quad-core A7 processor, while the real version features A9 chip set. The iPhone 6S clone RAM is only 512MB and goes with another 4GB of internal storage. This is a tiny combination, I must say. And we yet to know whether the smartphone offers SD card slot to expand its memory or not.
Talking about user interface, the iPhone 6S clone also features and iOS theme to make it a complete “iPhone device”, though we haven’t detected whether it is iOS 9 or previous version. I guess RM 160 can bot buy you an LTE-supported smartphone, but you will have dual-SIM with 3G internet: good enough for any normal mobile network usage.
Since design would be what matters when it comes to clones, this iPhone 6S copy cat knows their original well enough to feature all 3 color option: silver, gold and of course popular rose gold.
The clone industry has been developing quite fast so far, especially in China. It is interesting that you can actually find a smartphone that looks like that expensive iPhone 6S, with the price of only 1/10.
iPhone 6S clone and the clone industry
This is, however, not the first time we find copy versions of iPhone devices. It is their unexplainable popularity despite the high price, is the resason why many Chinese manufactures started to mass production their own versions, with super cheap pricing, to meet up the vast demand of their market.
Here is a short introduction video of the iPhone 6S clone!
Who’s the copycat? “It’s Apple that copies us” said HTC!
HTC has denied that they copied Apple iPhone 6 design for their latest flagship smartphone HTC One A9. Moreover, HTC revealed that “it’s Apple that copies us”…
We can feel the heat of this discussion is increasing day by day. Just after we heard and saw the first leaks of HTC One A9, things were started since it looked like a current Apple iPhone. Then, after the HTC One A9 launch, this new device of HTC has been receiving a lot of complaints mainly saying that it copied the Apple iPhone design.
Of course, when it is no longer a simple talk, HTC has to raise their voice to protect themselves and their newborn handset. At a press briefing in Taiwan, Jack Tong, president of HTC North Asia, said that “it’s Apple that copies us” in terms of design as they were the first to introduce a metal unibody smartphone about 3 years ago.
“We’re not copying. We made a uni-body metal-clad phone in 2013. It’s Apple that copies us in terms of the antenna design on the back,” said Mr. Tong at a press briefing in Tawain on the HTC One A9 release date.
Besides, he added that the One A9 is thinner and lighter than previous HTC metal-clad phones, which is considered as a change and evolution. And if there has to be a copycat, it is Apple, not HTC.
If you remember, there was an HTC One M7 launched in March, 2013 with an aluminum unibody frame and plastic antenna lines across the phone. 18 months later, Apple announced iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with similar looks and carried over to iPhone 6s line-up. So, who is right and who is wrong?

In conclusion, though we cannot be 100% sure that HTC One A9 did not copy iPhone 6 or vice versa, it is clear that both phone makers have borrowed or at least got “inspired” by a similar design from each other over the years. We wonder what will happen next. Whether Apple will take legal action against HTC for this case? Let’s wait and see!
Apple stealing AGAIN, charged a heavy $862 millions FOR….
Do you think 862 million dollars is a small number? Of course not! But, Apple will probably have to pay that much for what they did!
According to Reuters, a U.S. jury has recently found Apple guilty of equipping their A7, A8 and A8X chipset with a patented technology by the University of Wisconsin-Madison (WARF). There is a strong possibility that Apple will have to face a huge damage pay out, about 862 million dollars, this time.
Specifically, WARF has been owning the license since 1998. The tech is about improving energy consumption effectively and increasing the chip’s productivity without wasting too much battery energy. That sounds like something not only Apple but also many other manufacturers would want to do to their smartphones.
In fact, Apple A7, A8 and A8X chip are being used in Apple iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and some Apple iPad versions, and maybe they are going to get involved in the patent infringement case WARF has just raised up. This somehow reminds us of a similar situation happening last month when WARF was also the one to take up a lawsuit against Apple, targeting Apple A9 and A9X processors used in Apple iPhone 6S and iPad Pro.
Apple got sued in January 2014 and the result has been announced by the jury. Apple has to pay the University of Wisconsin-Madison 234 million dollars for the the patent infringement in terms of Microprocessor, according to AFP.
“This is a case where the hard work of our university researchers and the integrity of patenting and licensing discoveries has prevailed,” Carl Gulbrandsen, managing director of WARF. They was seeking 400 million dollars in damages, but the jury decided to award less than the expected amount, which is not unusual, basing on what Shane Brunner, who is a partner at the Madison law firm of Merchant & Gould and not involved in the case, said.
At the moment, new products of Apple such as Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus have sported the Apple A9 and A9X chip.
So, what do you think about the situation and the amount of money that Apple must pay out? Is it fair to WARF?
Android flagships beat Apple iPhone 6S at mobile camera ranking!
This seems to be good news for Android fans and bad news for iPhone fans. But, we have to admit that Android flagships beat Apple iPhone 6S at mobile camera ranking, at least in the DxOMark‘s list!
Although Apple iPhone 6S camera has been improved a lot when capable of 12 megapixels for the rear and 5 megapixels for the front shooter (much better than the 8MP rear and the 1.2MP front one of iPhone 6), it was not able to be the champion of the camera battle. Instead, many of this year’s Android flagships made it, topping the DxOMark’s mobile camera ranking list.
Specifically, the latest flagship phone of Apple just stopped at number 10 position, even under the previous generation Apple iPhone 6. Though, their final scores were the same.
Then, what were the Android devices that beat iPhone 6S?
Yeah, yeah, we will not make you wait longer. Here is the list of top 10 smartphone cameras according to DxOMark:
- Sony Xperia Z5
- Samsung Galaxy S6 edge
- Google Nexus 6P
- LG G4
- Samsung Galaxy Note 4
- Motorola Moto X Style
- Sony Xperia Z3 Plus
- Apple iPhone 6 Plus
- Apple iPhone 6
- Apple iPhone 6S
However, in general, Apple did quite well since there were up to 3 handsets (iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S) joining the top ten. Meanwhile, Sony and Samsung also did a good job with 2 machines per brand appearing in the list. On the other hand, we notice that no Chinese smartphone took a spot. Yet, say, the result is not 100% correct (but of course it does serve as a good base). We mean things can change once there are more phones taken into consideration.
To recap, we would like to congratulate Android on your winning, but keep trying as Apple will also do their best to get a higher place 😉 !
Interbrand 2015: Apple leads the game, Google is the runner-up and Volkswagen loses its place
Recently, we have been informed of the ranking list of the best brands in the world – the Interbrand 2015. Check it out!
2015 Interbrand Best Global Brands Report
Accordingly, Apple is still the one that leads the game and Google is still the runner-up, which is not really surprising to be honest. Basing on the list, we also know that the brand value of Apple increases 43% (or more than 170 billion dollars) this year. Though Google cannot be ranked first, they are also able to increase 12% (more than 120 billion dollars).
In terms of growth, the 2015 Interbrand Best Global Brands Report records that the brand value of Facebook is able to become the one that has developed fastest with 54% increase, reaching more than 22 billion dollars. On the other hand, Microsoft with some positive changes gets 11% increase and more than 67 billion dollars, ranking at the fourth place.
Besides, we have IBM coming in fifth, Samsung seventh, GE at eighth and Amazon at tenth. Looking at the entire top 100, we see that Volkswagen loses their position, compared to last year. They had to deal with many problems, so falling from the 31st to the 35th can be understandable.
According to Jez Frampton, Interbrand’s Global Chief Executive Officer, “The Best Global Brands report examines what it takes for brands to succeed in today’s hyper-fragmented world. As people demand immediate, personalized and tailored experiences, business and brands need to move at the speed of life. Many of the brands in this year’s Top 100 are so intuitively aligned with people’s priorities, that they are able to seamlessly integrate into their everyday lives.”
Apple continues leading the game!
In general, most technology giants are listed in the top 10 of Interbrand 2015. Some familiar and famous ones like Apple, Google, IBM, Microsoft, Samsung, GE and Amazon have succeeded in standing still in the list. Bravo!
BlackBerry teases Apple for their weak Privacy Policy?
It is quite coincident when Apple has just released iOS 9.0.2 to updated their Privacy Policy, BlackBerry also sent out a message related to that issue on the page of BlackBerry Priv, which is going on sale in the near future.

Apple iPhone 6S Plus battery can live as long as Samsung Galaxy Note 5
Apple iPhone 6S Plus battery can live as long as Samsung Galaxy Note 5 one. Can you believe that?
iPhone 6S Plus is one of the latest products by Apple this year. However, some people feel quite disappointed by its battery capacity: 165mAh less than its predecessor iPhone 6 Plus (2,750mAh vs 2,915mAh for the 6S Plus and 6 Plus, respectively). Normally, we have only expected the iPhone 6S Plus to last 6 hours or so, pretty similar to Apple iPhone 6 Plus. However, it seems like we have to rethink now!
In fact, Apple iPhone 6S Plus is able to achieve 33,060 seconds, or 551 minutes, or 9 hours and 11 minutes. It was proved by the Phonearena’s proprietary battery benchmark. Impressive, isn’t it? They also emphasized that iPhone 6S Plus can be the first case for an iPhone in their database. More specifically, according to them, 6S Plus “clocked the exact same figure as Samsung’s shiny new Galaxy Note5”, which features a bigger batt of 3,000mAh. At least, Apple has shown people that their iPhones can sometimes be stronger than others, right?!
Nonetheless, some people cannot 100% believe the result since it was reported that iPhone 6S Plus’s time for standby, talk time, and video and music playback was equal to its predecessor. Besides, its quick charging also fails to impress people. It takes you 165 minutes to get a fully-charged iPhone 6s Plus, which is easily outdone by other Android devices on the market.
In conclusion, we have to say that the battery life of iPhone 6S Plus is pretty surprising when it matches with that of Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Anyhow, we still wait for more such good points of Apple iPhone 6S Plus as well as iPhone 6S!

Will Samsung still be the TOP smartphone manufacturer in the Q3 of 2015?
Counterpoint Research has once announced that Samsung was leader all over the world in terms of both mobile phones and smartphone shipments in the Q2 of 2015. Specifically, the company was able to get 21% of units shipped in the period of time from April to June while Apple was the runner-up when accounting for 14%. Huawei was placed third with 9%, and then Xiaomi with 5% and ZTE with 5% were able to complete the top five.
In case of including feature phones, Samsung was ranked first with 19% when it came to global mobile phone shipments in the quarter 2. Next places belonged to Apple with 10%, Huawei with 7%, Nokia with 6% and ZTE, Xiaomi, TCL (Alcatel) and LG with the same 4%.
Even though Samsung could be the smartphone leader in most continents of the world, North America still saw Apple as its leader due to its 31% share. Meanwhile, Samsung had to take the second position with 24% and LG third with 15% of the North American market.
Now, if we do not care about the brands, we can see that smartphones themselves have accounted for 75% of mobile phone shipments globally in Q2. And 50% of them were shipped with 4G LTE support. The United States and China were able to make up 67% of the market for phones equipped with LTE in Q2, 2015.
Those are some outstanding numbers recorded in the Q2 report. How about Q3?
There has been no official report for this period of time, but Samsung’s profit in the Q3 of 2015 is predicted to be about 4.5 billion dollars, which is less than the Q2 and less than what this giant expects. Though, Samsung is said to still be able to receive 42.04 billion dollars in the third quarter of the year. Not a bad number at all!
However, can it help Samsung maintain their position in the Q2? Or will Apple with iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus launch reverse the situation? Let’s wait and see!
Apple wins an appellate court ruling, Samsung to nix UI features from older phones
Because of being the two biggest competitors in the markets, Samsung and Apple have always been fighting over customers as well as their copyright of phone features. Nonetheless, they both have losses and wins across the board in different aspects making it hard to determine whom the definite winner is.
In the recent court appeal, Apple seems to be winning this race. According to the court appeal, it states that some of the older editions of Samsung Galaxy phones have been equipped with features that were used exclusively on iPhones, which might have caused harms for Apple’s sales profits. Samsung was required to pay a sum of money of up to 120 million US dollars to make up for harms that they might have caused Apple.
On top of that, no only the court also wanted Samsung to compensate for Apple, but also wanted Samsung to remove these features from their software. Some of the features that were believed to be overlapping between the two big companies were slides-to-unlock, auto-correct, and the quick link ones.
“It’s an important precedent for Apple and any company that seeks to protect product differentiation,” claimed Nick Rodelli, head of CFRA Legal Edge, a US forensic, accounting, and legal research firm. “This broadens their moat here in the U.S. and makes it more difficult for new entrants to come into the U.S. market and rip off Apple’s features.”
These have been found to break the terms of the copyright. These overlaps could be found on Samsung ‘s 2011 flagships, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S2. This might not cause great impact on Samsung’s sales profits and businesses, but this court ruling opens a new chapter to any companies who want their copyright to be protected and to not be copied by any other companies. This would draw a line for any two rivals whose products might be similar in some senses and to force the designers to come up with new ideas that won’t be overlapping between companies and line ups.
