Xiaomi Redmi 2 vs Lenovo A7000: A Budget-friendly Phone Race
Here we have a small comparison between Xiaomi Redmi 2 vs Lenovo A7000 for your reference when you want to get a new friendly-budget phone with good specs.
Xiaomi Redmi 2 Malaysia release date vs Lenovo A7000 Malaysia release date:
Xiaomi Redmi 2 Malaysia release date was in March, 2015 while Lenovo A7000 Malaysia is still on the way. It will go on sale on 20 May, 2015, which means about 2 months later than Redmi 2. Most people will think A7000 is likely to have more advantages in a race like this, for there has been new changes or development in mobile technology within 2 months. As a result, perhaps Lenovo A7000 has had timely adjustments or appliances to their upcoming device. Anyhow, is it 100% sure that 2 months’ time can make Lenovo A7000 stand out when compared to Xiaomi Redmi 2, which is also considered as a budget-friendly and well-equipped smartphone?
Xiaomi Redmi 2 Malaysia price vs Lenovo A7000 Malaysia price:
At the moment, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Malaysia price is RM449 if you take a look at the official page of Xiaomi Malaysia here. RM449 seems an affordable price for the specs it offers. That is also why many people consider Redmi 2 as a killer for phone in its category. Meanwhile, Lenovo A7000 Malaysia retail recommended price is RM699. However, due to an exclusive partnership with Lazada Malaysia, consumers can pre-register here for a RM625 Lenovo A7000. At first sight, we can notice immediately that A7000 is more expensive than Redmi 2, yet is there anything about this Lenovo device that makes it hard for buyers to choose between it and Redmi 2?
Xiaomi Redmi 2 Malaysia specs vs Lenovo A7000 Malaysia specs:
First, let’s talk about Redmi 2. It is a 4.7” IPS LCD HD (720×1280, 312ppi) screen with Gorilla Glass helping resisting scratches and fingerprints. One other feature is dual standby 4G LTE that enables users to download songs, movies, pictures, etc. 10 times faster than a phone supporting 3G. Besides, it has 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A53 processor based on 64-bit Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of storage and Android OS 4.4.4 KitKat with MIUI 6. About Redmi 2 camera, it comes with an 8MP autofocus OmniVision rear cam with 28mm wide angle lens and a 2-megapixel for the front. The whole phone is powered by a 2200mAH rechargeable battery. In terms of looks, Xiaomi Redmi 2 appears more compact, thinner at 9.4mm and lighter at 133 grams, featuring rounded corners and a textured back with 5 colors for choosing.
The other competitor is Lenovo A7000. What does it have?
It has a 5.5″ HD IPS screen (720×1280) that features a wide-angle view of about 180°, bringing true theatre-like visuals. Additionally, it includes 4G LTE like Redmi 2, and 1.5GHz MediaTek True 8Core processor with 2GB RAM, 1GB more than Redmi 2. A7000’s storage is the same as Redmi 2, 8GB. This phone is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop, and equipped with a combo of 8 mega-pixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 5 mega-pixel fixed-focus front camera. A7000 has a larger battery, 2,900mAh, up to 16 hours 3G talk time, and dual SIM 4G LTE/3G HSPA. About its appearance, we note that it is 7.99mm thin, weighing 140 grams. Instead of 5 color choices like Xiaomi Redmi 2, buyers will just have two colors: Onyx Black and Pearl White. One remarkable thing about Lenovo A7000 is its Dolby Atmos. It will enhance not only music, videos and games, but also video chats “with audio that flows above and around you”, like in a cinema. So, probably this can be the thing that makes Lenovo A7000 outstanding because of being the first smartphone with Dolby Atmos.
Before wrapping things up, we would like to get you a clearer comparison through the following table:

10 things I DON’T like about smartphone
1. It wakes me up when I am sleeping well on Monday morning.

3. It rings loudly when I am in an important meeting.
4. It makes me wait too long for downloading a page.
5. It takes almost my friend’s attention away from me.
6. Run out of battery too soon. I need to charge E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E.

10. It ain’t no adult. So easy to break. Stop working whenever it wants. And always ask for so much attention.
Gionee Elife E8: will take 100MP Pictures! Camera BEAST!
UPDATED NEWS:
It has been awhile since the last time we saw Gionee Elife E8 on TENAA page. Now we have more detailed information about Gionee Elife E8 specs as well as its outstanding feature – the camera that can take 100MP photos.
(Pic source: GSMArena)
This 6-inch 2K screen device will boast a 23.7-megapixel rear camera to be specific. The chipset will be an octa-core 2GHz one paired with 3GB RAM. However, the rumored fingerprint scanner to be built in the handset is still not confirmed yet.
Another good news is that Gionee Elife E8 together with Gionee M5 (famous for its remarkably huge 6,000mAh battery) are going to be launched in Beijing, China on 10 June, 2015. Just a few days to go!
——————–
Though Elife E7 has just gone on sale, Mr. William Lu – Gionee’s President claimed that they would introduce Elife E8 soon. This new comer has frankly drawn quite much attention since there was some revelation about Gionee Elife E8 camera and the latest news says that it has an ability of taking 100 mega-pixel photos.
Gionee Elife E8 appeared on the certification website of China TENAA not very long ago. Thanks to the TENAA visit and some new teasers posted by Gionee, we know more about Elife E8 camera. It will be a 23MP rear shooter that is capable of producing 100MP photos. Many people predict that the technology can be similar to what is used on OPPO Find 7, which can take 50MP pictures.
If you remember, the Find 7 rear camera includes a 13MP Sony Exmor RS (Stacked CMOS) IMX214 sensor, a six-part lens with f/2.0 aperture, and OPPO’s Pure Image 2.0 image processor which makes 50-megapixel “Super Zoom” creation possible. The camera will take 10 shots extremely quickly consecutively, then automatically pick out four best shots and combine those into a 50-megapixel one. Back to Gionee Elife E8, it might go that way too but with a 23.8MP sensor which is perhaps the OmniVision OV23850. The OV23850 offers phase detection autofocus, HDR in real-time (video only) and 4K video at 30fps.
Other Gionee Elife E8 Specs:
Along with the camera sensor, Gionee Elife E8 will also feature a 6” screen with 1440×2560 Quad HD resolution that gives a pixel density of 639ppi. On the other hand, the phone has 3GB RAM, 32GB of storage, fingerprint scanner, 7MP front camera, and a 3,520mAh battery. The whole device will be powered by MT6795 SoC and run by Android 5.0. However, these still remain to be officially confirmed.
If the Gionee Elife E8 taking 100MP photos does come true, consumers who want to have great pictures can take this smartphone into consideration. Elife E8 release date and price will probably be announced in the next few weeks, and then Gionee Elife E8 Malaysia can be also brought to our country. Let’s wait and see!

OPPO R7 and R7 Plus: New ultra-thin flagships launched
OPPO R7 and R7 Plus are going to be the next ultra-thin flagships produced by OPPO in 2015. As we are getting closer to the OPPO R7 and R7 Plus official launch at the end of the May, the company has given us some hints by unveiling new images of these smartphones recently.
OPPO R series usually appears ultra-thin. If you remember, the OPPO R5 was considered the world’s thinnest smartphone with only 4.85mm of thickness. Now, according to R7 and R7 Plus renders, it is likely that these versions will be the successors to OPPO R5 or maybe even slender. On the other hand, R7 and R7 Plus will probably take 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a 5.9-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, respectively.
In terms of design, the devices share a metal frame surrounding the bodies, which rejects the rumor that R7 and R7 Plus are borderless. However, notice that the phones employ very thin bezels with the use of 2.5D glass on the font, which gives people an optical illusion that they have no bezels at all.
One minor difference between the two models is that OPPO R7 Plus has a large OPPO branding below the display and R7 does not. On the back, R7 Plus contains a fingerprint scanner, dual-tone LED flash and a small black part next to the camera that could be an infrared LED for the camera focus. Those details are placed in the middle on the top of the phone, different from R7, whose camera is put on a top’s corner. For the power buttons, they are also not the same. R7 Plus’s power button is on the right while the standard R7’s is on the left as you can see in the following picture.
Well, let’s take another look at OPPO R7 and R7 Plus specs:
OPPO R7 Specs:
R7 reportedly has 2 processor based variants depending on the region where it goes on sale. One of the two variants will run a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, and the other on a 1.7GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6752 processor. No matter what variant it will come with, the 3GB RAM and 16GB of storage are not to be changed on R7 versions. The phone will also feature a 20.7MP rear camera.
OPPO R7 Plus Specs:
Next we have OPPO R7 Plus running on the 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6795 1.9GHz. It also sports 3GB RAM and 32 GB of storage. Besides, the rear camera is likely to be 20.7MP, too and the front is 7MP.
Although the official images of R7 and R7 Plus were released by OPPO, to know what we have heard so far is true, we have to wait until 20 May, which is said to be the OPPO R7 release date and R7 Plus release date. Perhaps OPPO R7 Malaysia and R7 Plus Malaysia will then also come to Malaysia market this year, and hopefully R7 price as well as R7 Plus price in Malaysia will be affordable for those who like these OPPO products.
Xiaomi Power Bank 10,000mAh: Newer, Smaller and Lighter
Xiaomi has introduced a brand new 10,000mAh Power Bank which is a bit smaller than the recent 10,400mAh Power Bank. However, people may consider its smaller size and lighter weight as good points. About its appearance, you will also get the same metal clad body and the same charging chips made by Texas Instruments and US Power Systems. Now, let’s check out some important numbers to show how the Xiaomi’s new product is like.
Xiaomi Power Bank:
10,000: 10,000mAh is the capacity of the new power bank.
207: It weighs 207 grams, which is 43 grams lighter than the 10,400mAh version (250 grams).
60.4: It measures just 60.4mm wide, obviously smaller than the 77mm wide 10,400mAh Power Bank.
22: Though it is smaller in width, the new power bank (22mm thick) seems to be thicker than the former (21.6mm).
62: It has 62 hours of standby time.
2.1: Its output pushes 2.1Amps from a single USB port.
4: There are 4 LED status lights on this device.
5,200: The positions of its microUSB input and full size USB port has been changed to be in the middle, like the Mi 5,200mAh Power Bank.
40: In China, Mi 10,000mAh Power Bank costs 69 CNY, which means this Xiaomi power bank price is about RM40 in Malaysia.
In conclusion, for those who want to buy a new power bank, they can take the Mi 10,000mAh Power Bank into consideration. It has just been launched by Xiaomi manufacturer recently, and one remarkable point is that this new device is lighter and smaller in comparison with the Mi Power Bank 10,400mAh. Anyhow, we have not had the Xiaomi Power Bank Malaysia 10,000mAh as well as the official Xiaomi Power Bank price in Malaysia yet. Maybe it’s gonna be here in the near future.
Yu Yuphoria: New metal-frame, Snapdragon 410 and 4G LTE phone for RM400
After letting the fans choose the name for Micromax YU’s new product, finally it will be known as Yu Yuphoria. In terms of Yu Yuphoria design, Yuphoria is likely to dress a metal frame, “miracle in metal” as they call it. This metal frame goes around the phone’s edge with the back made of soft plastic. The company’s teams in Bangalore and Beijing will be the ones in charge of crafting the phone, and they mainly aim at metal mid-rangers such as Samsung Galaxy A3; however, it’s gonna go with a more affordable Yuphoria price.
Yu Yuphoria Specs:
Recalling information we have heard about Yuphoria specs, it will be powered by a Snapdragon 410 (four 64-bit CPU cores and Adreno 306) processor, featuring 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage along with a microSD card slot. The screen is a 5-inch 720p HD one protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and the cameras are 8 mega-pixel, f/2.2 for the rear and 5 mega-pixel, f/2.0 for the front.
Furthermore, the device will also be equipped with Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android Lollipop. In the aspect of connectivity, there will be dual-SIM and 4G LTE support. For the battery, it is a 2,230mAh one with Quick Charge 1.0. One more interesting point about Yu Yuphoria is the Wolfson audio chip, which can help bring great audio quality.
Yu Yuphoria price is about $110, so that maybe Yuphoria Malaysia price could be around RM400. It is said that Yuphoria release date is May 28, but Yuphoria Malaysia release date has not been made yet. So, we’ll try to continue updating you with more information about this new phone!
OnePlus One Touchscreen Issues: Firmware update helps solve the problem
As we know, since the OnePlus One launch last year, it has been reported several times for issues related to the touchscreen. Specifically, OnePlus One touchscreen simply is not responsive to its users. It does not identify human touch, it detects the touch not made by the users, or sometimes it does things people do not want. Furthermore, the screen jumps around occasionally when the user scrolls pages or uses different multitouch gestures. Those issues really annoys who is using OnePlus One. So, has the company come up with any solution?
OnePlus One Response:
OnePlus One touchscreen issues appeared to cause some heated discussions in different OnePlus forums. Though perhaps the number of OnePlus One owners having such problem is kind of small compared to the whole its user base, those people did want to be heard. Good thing is that OnePlus did response to them. “We take your feedback seriously and have been putting the One through a battery of tests and determined that there are different issues at play, some software and some hardware,” said the official forum post.
It was explained that some problems might happen in the software and hardware of the touchscreen element. In addition, OnePlus are also working with their touchscreen technology partner Synaptics in order to find out an effective resolution for the issue by a firmware update.
Hopefully, the solution they mentioned will come true soon. As OnePlus One Malaysia launch has just happened recently with OnePlus One price in Malaysia from RM1,197 to RM1,297, the company would not want to lose Malaysians’ impressions of its smartphone with such problem. If you are also a OnePlus One user experiencing the touchscreen issue, what would you say?
Meizu MX5, M1 Note 2 and Avengers versions are around the corner
Back to last year, 2014 was quite a successful year for Meizu when it got back and brought consumers cool products such as MX4, MX4 Pro, and M1 Note, released in September, October, and December, respectively. They were all highly evaluated, so that people seem to expect such things or more in 2015. With MX5, M1 Note 2 and Meizu Avengers edition which are likely to be coming, can Meizu make another great year?
Meizu MX5, M1 Note 2 and Avengers edition:
It is said that on May 18, 2015 Meizu will hold an event in which they will announce the launch of a Avengers version for Meizu MX4 and M1 Note smartphones. Some teasers are released to introduce white Meizu MX4 and yellow Meizu M1 Note with logo of Avengers on the back. If you remember, we showed you Avengers edition of Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge before, and perhaps in the future, Oppo could also create something similar. So, this means you surely will have many choices for an Avengers smartphone.
On the other hand, one of the coming phones is Meizu M1 Note 2, which is considered as the second generation of Meizu Note model. Many sources claim that it is likely to have an alloy body rather than a plastic one, and feature a fingerprint scanner, similar to Meizu MX4. Furthermore, some insiders said that June 30 could be the Meizu MX5 release date. The device will come with a metal body and fingerprint scanner. It is quite certain that both of the phones will be powered by Mediatek chips, especially after the Taiwanese chip giant has decided to invest in the smartphone maker.

In the end, those are rumors about the launch of Meizu MX5, M1 Note 2 and Meizu Avengers versions. Let’s wait and see what actually comes out. Hopefully, we will be officially informed of Meizu MX5 Malaysia release date and M1 Note 2 Malaysia release date in the near future.
iPhone 6s, 6s Plus breaking news: Force Touch and Sapphire Back!
For those who are looking forward to the appearance of Apple new products this year, they may have already known about the coming iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, which are likely to be equipped with Force Touch and Sapphire back.
iPhone 6s?
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo – who usually reveals information about Apple’s new products quite correctly, has recently published a new report saying that Apple will continue producing phones with 4.7” and 5.5” in 2015. On the other hand, the possibility of a 4-inch version of the iPhone 6C is rejected one more time, at least not this year.
The 2 products will take the names as iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Force Touch Tech, which debuted on new MacBook and Apple Watch, is going to be applied for 6s and 6s Plus. That will become one of the remarkable features on this duo and bring users new and interesting experience. Besides, they will be powered by Apple new A9 chipset with 2GB LPDDR4 memory and 12 million-pixel cameras.
The iPhone 6s 5.5” may look more graceful with a sapphire glass display. However, it seems to be only a limited edition while the mainstream models are going to employ the Ion-X glass. Additionally, Apple will add more color for people’s choices. That is Rose Gold color once appearing on Apple Watch, and Tyrant gold Brilliance. Finally, the report also mentioned the Touch ID whose accuracy will be improved to promote Apple Pay.
In conclusion, before iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Malaysia release date is officially announced, we should wait to see whether the above information is true or there will be changes in the new iPhones.

Hong Kong: HK$1599 (about RM743)
Taiwan: NTD 6,449 (about RM762)
If what we predict turns out to be true, Mi4i price appears a bit higher than Redmi Note 4G price in Malaysia (RM625), yet not as much as Xiaomi Mi4 Malaysia 3G version only (RM1,199).
To recap, for less than RM800, Xiaomi Mi4i Malaysia, coming with a 5″ FHD screen, a large battery and supporting 4G LTE, can be one of great choices for consumers in general and Mi fans in particular. So, what do you think about Mi4i and its price?
