No one can’t deny that Nokia is a giant brand in the mobile phone industry. They used to release a lot of products belonging to various ranges before being sold to Microsoft at the end of 2013. Besides the brick phones famous all over the world, Nokia also produced many models with great features. It was the time when Apple was just well known for iPod and Macbook, or Google was only mentioned as a searching tool on the internet. So, the following are the 5 gorgeous representatives of not only their kinds but also Nokia! Check them out!

1. Nokia 9000 Communicator (1996): The FIRST Smartphone

Nokia 9000 Communicator was considered as the first smartphone by Nokia. It could play the role of an ordinary phone and small PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) with a full QWERTY keyboard. On the other hand, 9000 Communicator ran on OS GEOS v3.0, allowing you to check email, surf the web, send and receive fax.

2. Nokia 7650 (2002): The FIRST Symbian* Phone

Apart from being the first Symbian device, Nokia 7650 was also the first one to be equipped with camera in the Nokia’s house. It ran on Symbian 6.1 along with 32-bit 104MHz chip of RISC, 4MB RAM, 16MB ROM and a 0.3MP shooter. As for the Symbian 6.1 OS, you could check your email, send MMS message, sync your phone with a computer as well as run Java apps.

Touchscreen seemed to be a strange idea to phone users 10 years ago. However, Nokia decided to bring it closer to them by creating Nokia 7710 featuring a touchscreen. The display’s resolution was 640 x 320 pixels plus 65 thousand colors, 90MB of internal storage and MMC card slot. Symbian Series 90 was in charge of the phone’s OS.

4. Nokia 7610 (2004): The First Phone having 1MP camera

Born in the same year with Nokia 7710, Nokia 7610 leaf came with Symbian S60 v7.0 and the first 1MP camera as a Nokia device. Did you get one at that time?

5. Nokia N82 (2007): The FIRST Phone with Xenon Flash

Launched in the same year with the Apple iPhone number one of the series, Nokia N82 had a 5MP cam with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash. It belonged to N-series with 128MB RAM and double-core ARM11 processor.

LeTV – the young and ambitious phones makers in China has launched three new device in this year. Recently, the compay unveiled the latest information that the next smartphone will use the most awaited Snapdragon 820 chipset.

The company has released a teaser image at Hong Kong, including the front panel of a super-slim smartphone with the words of “820” in the middle. Earlier, CEO and COO of LeTV been revealed on Weibo about the Snapdragon 820 will be runned on the upcoming device. Currently, the company already has two high-end smartphones which are LeTV One Pro and LeTV One Max running Snapdragon 810 chip.

The disclosed information about the first smartphone running Snapdragon 820 chip does not guarantee that they will be the first manufacturer to launch a device using most powerful Qualcomm chip. According to current information,  Snapdragon 820 chipset are not ready for mass production until early 2016.

Although Qualcom has not officially announced the Snapdragon 820, but the company revealed some interesting information. For example, the new Adreno 530 graphics will have 40% higher performance, and 40% battery saving compared with the Adreno 430 on Snapdragon 810.

About LeTV, this is not the manufacturer has a great reputation in China. However, they are creating a good effect on the market. According to reports from China, LeTV manufacturer has the fastest growth rates in China. Not long ago, the company launched three new smartphones which are Mediatek powered LeTV Le 1, and Snapdragon powered LeTV Le 1 Pro and Le Max. All of them have the powerful specifications and attractive price range.

Upcoming Gionee Elife S7 Mini smartphone is a super slim design which looks alike the Elife S7 was announced in April 2014. Elife S7 Mini is a different version of the ultra-thin smartphone Elife S7. The GN9007 device is newly certified by TENAA.

The upcoming Chinese smartphone also has gone through Geekbench benchmark tools and all of the smartphone’s specifications seem to be efficient.

Based on the Elife S7 mini leaked specs,  the smartphone will come with 5-inch screen HD resolution (1.280×720 pixels) with 294ppi pixel density achieved. This smartphone will be equipped with octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It also has MediaTek MT6753, Mali-T720 graphics as well as 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, microSD card slot expandable upto 128GB.

For shooter, there are the 13MP camera , and the 8MP camera on the front. The device will have 4G LTE connectivity and preinstalled Android 5.1 operating system. There will be 2 viriants on Black and White color options. The Elife S7 mini price in Malaysia and release date haven’t been announced yet.

Due to be shortened slightly on screen size, so the overall appearance of Elife S7 mini also smaller than the sibling Elife S7. However, according to the size specs, the Elife S7 mini will not thinner than its predecessor with the thickness of 6mm (thicker than 0.5 mm). It may have a rather slender 144.9×69.8×6 mm body

Back to the ultra-thin smartphone Elife S7 (size 139,8×67,4×5,5 mm and weighs 126.5 grams). It equipped with 5.2-inch Super AMOLED Full HD srceen solution and Corning Gorilla Glass toughened glass 3. IFA or Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (International radio exhibition Berlin, aka ‘Berlin Radio Show’) is one of the oldest industrial exhibitions held annually in Germany in September. Moreover, it is considered as one of world’s leading trade shows for consumer electronics and home appliances. This year, IFA 2015 also happens in September as usual but promises to show many “unusual” ideas from various brands there, including ASUS.

Recently, ASUS has officially confirmed that the company will hold a press event of their own at IFA 2015 on Wednesday, September 2. Besides, ASUS also has just released a short teaser revealing what they are bringing to the show.

In the video, alongside what looks to be some new computers, we caught a glimpse of a new smartphone and smartwatch. It can be a new ASUS ZenFone device featuring a textured button which is quite identical to the buttons many ASUS phones have been sporting currently. According to some rumors, this ASUS phone will belong to the mid-range category but come with top specs nowadays. Is it possible?

Apart from the new smartphone, as mentioned above, a few images of a smartwatch are also seen in the teaser. However, we are quite disappointed when realizing that it is the same ASUS ZenWatch 2, launched at Computex in June, 2015, and the same teaser clips used for the announcement video of the watch. Yet, one good thing is that the availability details for this product are likely to be unveiled on September 2.

Then, we are now looking forward to September 2, 2015 to see what technology companies will bring us. It is said that Samsung will go there with their new Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch and Huawei with a new “unique” smartphone (rumored to be Huawei Mate S). How about ASUS? Though the teaser somehow satisfied our curiosity a bit, we still prefer seeing things in person. Hopefully they are as awesome as ASUS ZenFone 2 4GB RAM!

Some info about a new HTC device has been spread on the internet. It will be a high-end device called HTC O2 and equipped the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip.

After noticing that HTC One M9 has not really received much success as the company expected in terms of sales, revenue and benefits, it seems like HTC should consider changing their strategy. And perhaps the next flagship will be responsible for solving the current problems.

According to the company’s CEO, Mr. Cher Wang, they are going to release a totally new device including design and many other things. They also promise that it will not follow in the One’s footsteps. We can see that the coming product is to take the role of a “Hero”, helping HTC overcome the crisis now and get back on track.

Recently, there are many pieces of information related to the “Hero” Mr. Wang mentioned. Specifically, it will be named HTC O2, powered by Snapdragon 820 chip produced by the procedure 14nm FinFET of Samsung. Accordingly, SD820 is said to give better performance and improve the battery life. One more important thing is that it will not cause heating issue like Snapdragon 810 which is one of the main reasons why HTC One M9 sale was not good.

Besides, from a Chinese leaks, HTC O2 will probably feature 6-inch 2K screen with 490 ppi, 4GB RAM and a combo of 20.7MP rear and 5MP front snapper. Other HTC O2 specs are a 3,500mAh battery and 64/128GB of internal storage. As for the design, HTC O2 will also have BoomSound stereo speakers like HTC One M9 together with the ability of water and dust resistance.

Reportedly, HTC O2 launch date will happen in the Q1 of 2016. However, none of the above info has been confirmed officially by HTC. Therefore, just take them with a pinch of salt.

The fact that giant PC companies get involved in mobile phone industry is not something new. We can reveal some of their names and even their position on the ranking list, from the first to the sixth. They are Lenovo IDC, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Apple, Acer, and ASUS.

Reportedly, ASUS’s revenue of the second quarter includes 61 percent coming from PC products and 22 percent from mobile phones and tablets. Accordingly, they sold 4.8 million laptops, 600,000 desktops, and 3 million mobile phones. It seems like ASUS is trying to push and sell more their smartphone field. And we think that is possible since just at the beginning of this year, ASUS produced the world’s first 4GB RAM phone – ASUS ZenFone 2, which has become many people’s first choice when it comes to buying a powerful but affordable handset.

On the other hand, ASUS foresees that by the end of 2017 it will have generated more money from smartphones than PCs. It is also expected that the profits from mobile sales will catch up with those from the PC sector. Of course, while moving towards the goal, they have to compete with many other brands.

Furthermore, the situation is that currently HP, Acer, and Dell have received very little success in the phone business and even Lenovo, which has been said to have much potential in this area, is also seeing a sharp decrease in selling phones. Obviously, chances for a brand to shine in this industry are not many. So, what can ASUS do in order to maintain or get a higher place in such a world?

However, as ASUS was the pioneer in the 4GB RAM phone trend, we look forward to and feel interested in their upcoming ideas. Yet, the question is when ASUS will start another trend. Many ASUS machines have been spotted on certification pages, but they are not really outstanding in terms of specs and design. Hope that what ASUS is planning will surprise us in the near future!

According to the latest data from Strategy Analytics, Apple has surpassed Microsoft in mobile phones sales at the end of last quarter, and become the second largest mobile phones company in worldwide. Its sales include both of smartphones and feature phones.
According to statistical data, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sales rose 35% compared to Q2 2014. In the last quarter, Apple sold 47.5 million also smartphones and currently occupies 11% of the market phones globally.

Meanwhile, Samsung has become the leader with 20.5% market share, despite a reduction of 2.2% in the last quarter. That is the result of difficult business of Samsung in recent times, the two flagship Galaxy S6 and S6 edge recently launched are not attractive enough for users. However, with total sales of mobile phones is still high, so it helps Samsung maintain its first position.

Some other notable features of Strategy Analytics, Microsoft’s market share is significantly reduced. In Q2 2014, the software giant still held at second place with production line of Nokia handsets. Then in Q2 2015, Microsoft only holds 4th position.
Meanwhile, Apple climbed to second place in the list, their products are only smartphone, and without the feature form models.

Analysts forecast strong growth of smartphone and feature phone’s decline from now to 2020.

The Chinese manufacturers also has strong growth. Huawei ranked as third place with 7% of the global market. The new flagship of Huawei’s Mate 7 received a lot of positive reviews.
Xiaomi after very strong growth in the last 18 months, is now showing signs of going down again and stood at fifth rank with 4.6% market share.
Analysts also predict strong growth of smartphones from now until 2020. Then, feature phones will decline, but do not disappear. Besides, China will still be the  most powerful growth in the market.

Chinese smartphones have created a bloom over the past few years. It nearly spreads out in global market with a surprising speed. Many smartphone users are gradually switching from their current ones to Chinese Android devices. Chinese phones have surpassed many big brands and taken the world’s notice!

So what are the main reasons that make those Chinese handsets so attractive? Here are some outstanding features that Chinese brands can benefit consumers :

Let’s have a general look from many non-Chinese big brands such as Samsung, LG, HTC or Apple and we can see that the upgraded versions mostly follow the previous models and just have a little change from their old designs. Therefore, international smartphone upgrade and design seem to no longer attract users.

On the other hand, take a look at many recent Chinese brands like ZTE, Xiaomi, Huawei or Meizu, OPPO, etc. They cover a fresh design and new features that significantly catch people’s eyes.

Up-to-date Specifications

We can see that most of Chinese smartphones always stay up-to-date with the newest high-end technology compared to many huge brands. They all have “BEAST” features, processors or cameras offer all of the necessary specs for their consumers!

Affordable

This is also the most obvious benefit that Chinese manufacturers support for users. These devices are fit to people’s average budgets. The prices are various and ranging from the cheapest to the highest. Even with $100, you can still have a smartphone coming with really great specs.
