Together with Gionee Marathon M5, Gionee Elife E8 has recently been introduced at its launch event. After so many leaks spread away, finally it’s officially unveiled but with more surprises, the camera’s ability to be specific.

 

As you remember, the unique selling point of Gionee Elife E8 is its ability to take 120MP photos instead of just 100MP like we heard. Before Gionee, we had OPPO Find 7 which first surprised the smartphone world by its 50MP picture capability. So, it seems like Gionee is trying their best to impress consumers with the double pic quality.

Looking closer to the Gionee Elife E8 Specs, we learn that the handset is powered by MediaTek MT6795 (aka Helio X10) octa-core 64-bit CPU and 3GB RAM. Additionally, there are 64GB of storage and a microSD card slot to expand to memory if you wish to. On the other hand, Elife E8 owns a 6″ 2K screen, fingerprint scanner, 3,520mAh battery and Amigo UI 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

And of course, we cannot forget the star of the show! It’s the Elife E8 camera combo including a 24 mega-pixel primary camera and 8 mega-pixel secondary selfie snapper. We used to wonder why a 24MP cam can produce 120MP photos, and now we have the answer: Thanks to software. In other words, the sensor takes advantage of PDAF (phase detection autofocus) to have an extremely fast focus speed from 0.08 to 0.20 seconds, according to Gionee company. That’s really fast. As for the front cam, 8MP can make your selfies look great!

Last but not least, we as well as many other consumers care about the price. Gionee Elife E8 price is set at 2,299 Yuan (about RM1,385 may seem to be the Gionee Elife E8 price in Malaysia). Do you think that is reasonable?

In conclusion, Gionee new flagship smartphone this time really stands out. Its specs are strong enough; design is eye-catching, and the camera’s capability is awesome: 24MP shooter takes 120MP photos! How does that sound?
