Xiaomi Mi4i with SN808 for international market ???
1. Xiaomi Mi4i with SN615 causes heating problem.
Xiaomi Mi4i hit the market a few months ago and also drew much attention from phone consumers due to its specs, design and price. However, besides good comments, there have been complaints saying that the main processor of Mi4i, the Snapdragon 615, does not really work well. It is not as fast and cool as expected. After being informed of the problem, Xiaomi manufacturer announced the updated MIUI v6.5.50 to fix the Mi4i’s overheating issue. Nonetheless, we wonder if Xiaomi wants the Mi4i to be known worldwide, will they change their strategy? Say, by switching to another SoC for the device?
2. A new phone called Xiaomi Libra appeared on Geekbench Benchmark.
We notice that recently there has been a Xiaomi smartphone spotted on the Geekbench benchmark website. It is named Xiaomi Libra, sporting the premium Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset and 2GB RAM. In fact, Xiaomi Libra was not listed on the Xiaomi roadmap 2015. As a result, we do not think that it will be a brand new product from Xiaomi.
On the other hand, the SN808 is slightly slower than the Snapdragon 810 chip, so we do not think that Xiaomi will use SN808 for their famous upcoming flagship Xiaomi Mi5. If not, are they just simply going to introduce a new phone called Xiaomi Libra for the local market? Not very long after the Mi4i launch and before the Mi5’s big day?
3. The limited availability of Xiaomi Mi4i on international markets.
As far as we know, even though Mi4i has been going on sale for months in its home country, it has been not very popular on other markets outside China. To explain this situation, the leading Chinese Industry Analyst – Pan Jiutang claimed that Xiaomi has been working on something more powerful than the original Xiaomi Mi4i, something that would probably be powered by the premium Snapdragon 808 chip. Anyhow, we are not sure how they will call it for now.
4. A possible conclusion to make is that…
…the plan of changing the chip is possibly for the international availability of Xiaomi Mi4i. And that could be a wise choice since Xiaomi Mi4i has been known to be a good smartphone with a better than average build and display. If they can solve the problem caused by the processor, Mi4i would become even worthier. Xiaomi Mi4i with SN808 for international markets does not sound bad at all!
Tablet sales continue to drop, people show more interest on smartphones?
It was announced by Forrester Research that tablet sales will continue to fall further this year. According to the source, the reason for this is the release of many cool and mid-price phablets – smart phones that have more than 5-inch display.
The research shows that more than 41% users in the world own a phablet and 11% people answered that their tablet is also their phablet. This counts as one reason why the sales drop. Even Apple products – iPad Air – have the same problem of dropped sales.

However, as of nowadays, Android tablets are all over the market, some with just $50 (RM190) in price. Availability gets stronger, making this kind of device less “in style” than it was.
Moreover, as the companies increasingly provide cool smart phones with bigger display, tablets seem to be out of place. Since the release of Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung’s tablet sales have reduced by 5%. Apple iPhone 6 or other phablets also contributed to this trend of dropping tablet sales.
By the way, there may be still hope for the tablet market. As tablets are more and more important for business, employees start to use it more for work at least once a week. Comparing to PC and laptops, tablets are much easier to use and travel with. It also seems that 29% of the companies are willing to provide tablets for their employees. Moreover, tablets are more enduring than smart phones, and that is why using tablets will become a sustainable activity in the work place.

Google Nexus 5 2015 AnTuTu scores beat Meizu and Samsung flagships!
We have been hearing a lot about the next Google Nexus generation that is going to be produced by Huawei and LG company. Though there has been not much official information announced, we are glad to spot a leaked benchmark scores related to the new Nexus that can give us some hints about the Google’s new flagship.
The mentioned scores comes from AnTuTu Benchmark 5 on the LG handset and literally surprises us: 85,530 points.

Specifically, the AnTuTu scores of Google Nexus 5 2015 is 20,000 points higher than Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with Exynos 7420 chip and Meizu MX4 with MediaTek MT6595 chip. This could mean that LG will be using Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 for the LG Nexus 2015.
Besides, one minor thing we know about the new Nexus is that the one made by LG will probably be called Google Nexus 5 2015 in order to make it differ from the previous Google Nexus 5. On the other hand, we also anticipate that the machine will sport a 5-inch screen and run on Android OS. Hopefully that would be the new one: Google Android M, perhaps.
Also, AnTuTu Benchmark has reckoned that the Google Nexus 5 (2015) will have a Full HD display, kind of opposite the current news saying that Nexus will boast a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Anyhow, none of the info pieces has been claimed by either Google or LG.
To conclude, we are excited and curious at the same time when knowing that Google Nexus 5 2015 got such high scores on AnTuTu Benchmark. That is a great signal for the coming of a powerful flagship. We will pay close attention to this beast and inform you of the news as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

The differences between HD, Full HD and Quad HD Screen Smartphone
At the present time, the more innovative of technology, the more feature specs of smartphone are created. Thus, many smartphone users may have many questions around such specs. The screen resolution is one of those queries. There are many uncertainties around HD, full HD and Quad HD screen display.
HD
HD stands for high definition. It simply means a measurement of pixel of 1,280 x 720 pixel. Regardless of the screen size, if the pixel stays at this measurement, it’s a HD display. So, it can be assumed that the smaller the screen, the higher pixel density, and it will have better picture.
For instace, 4.3-inch screen will come with 342ppi pixel density, 4.7-inch will drop to 312ppi. However, it is not a matter because according to Apple when it launched iPhone 4, 300ppi is human “sweet spot” in a certain distance.
FULL HD
This one is the higher step of smartphone standard display. The definition of Full HD is 1,920 x 1,280 pixels. With the smartphone around 5-inch, the pixels will be 441 ppi. Once again, pixels will be adjusted basing on the screen size. The pixel will spread out more on a larger screen. Similarly, it will squish on smaller screen.
QHD / Quad HD or 2K
QHD is the abbriviation of Quad HD. Its measurement is 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. That is the reason why it called 2K, which measured over 2,000 pixels. Those resolution often defined by its mesuarement. Therefore, in the same way, HD will come sometimes called 720p, and Full HD called 1,080p. Then, a 5.5- inch QHD display has a pixel density of 538ppi.
For instance, 5.5 inch LG phablet form is G3 with resolution 1440 x 2560px hit the same pixel density of 534ppi.
Comparision between LG G3 (QHD) and G2 & HTC One M8 (Full HD)
Here are the pixel densities of some popular phones since then:
- Apple iPhone 4-5s: 326ppi
- Samsung Galaxy S3 (4.8-inch, 720p): 306ppi
- Samsung Galaxy S4 (5-inch, 1080p): 441ppi
- Samsung Galaxy Note III (5.7-inch, 1080p): 386ppi
Viewing distance
However, the viewing distance also affect the sight seeing of display sharpness and clarity. Here are some ideal distance appropriate with the devices.
- Typical 480p phone (4” display like Galaxy S III Mini): eye starts to notice pixelization from 37.4cm
- Typical 720p phone (4.7” display like Nexus 4): eye starts to notice pixelization from 28cm
- Typical 1080p phone (5” display like Galaxy S5): eye starts to notice pixelization from 19.8cm
- Typical 1440p phone (5.5” display like expected LG G3): eye starts to notice pixelization from 16.4cm
Battery and Screen Resolutions
More pixels are put in a display will make the processore work harder. Therefore, battery impact is one of the concerns. Basing on our purpose of needs, we can wisely choose between crystal clear screens, or the long run battery life. It’s up to your personal preference!

THREE Huawei new phones appeared on Chinese Certification Website
Not so long ago, Huawei released their flagship Huawei Honor 7. However, recently, there have been up to three new Huawei devices spotted on Chinese National Radio Certification website. Is Huawei planning to introduce new phones when the Honor 7 has just hit the market?
THREE Huawei new phones appeared on Chinese Certification Website
According to the listing, we got their model numbers: ATH-AL00, RIO-AL00 and CRR-AL00. The first one ATH-AL00 is mentioned as another member of Honor family. Therefore, we guess that it could be Huawei Honor 7 Plus with bigger screen or upgraded specs. Besides, the phone is likely to own a CNC body. Another model – CRR-AL00 – will come with dual SIM dual standby and support GSM / CDMA2000 / TD-LTE / FDD-LTE network. Apart from the above info, we also notice that the upcoming machines will sport Kirin 930 series chip instead of the new Kirin 950 chip.
Anyhow, there is not enough information for us to be sure about those three phones from Huawei. Yet, they have appeared on the internet, which means there would be more details related to them released in the near future. Stay tuned! We keep updating on the upcoming Huawei smartphones.
