Microsoft 940 & 940XL to launch: 2K screen and 20MP

Microsoft is going to hold an event in New York. What will happen there?

This newest rumor says that Microsoft will release 2 smartphones known as Lumia 940 and Lumua 940XL on October 19, 2015. And it seems like the launch will take place at an event hold in New York. Besides, the giant will also introduce their new tablet Surface Pro 4 and smart wearable Microsoft Band 2.

Are Lumia 940 and Lumia 940XL coming for real?

According to the source, Lumia 940XL is a phone sporting a 5.7-inch 2K screen, a Snapdragon 810 octa-core paired with 3GB RAM. Other Lumia940XL specs include 32GB of storage, a combo of 20MP rear PureView cam and a 5MP front snapper. Furthermore, Lumia 940XL is equipped with an iris scanner, a USB Type-C port, and a native pen.

Meanwhile, Lumia 940 specs are lower than the XL version a bit. It is because Lumia 940 will come with a 5.2-inch display, and a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core. Anyhow, other Microsoft Lumia 940 features are close to its bigger brother Lumia 940XL. It shows that this Lumia duo can satisfy many types of consumers.

About Surface Pro 4, it is said that the machine will not have many differences in terms of general design compared to its predecessor Pro 3. However, Surface Pro 4 specs can be better, for it is reported to own a bigger display as well as higher resolution. On the other hand, the tablet will be thinner and lighter to meet the demands of people. Apart from that, the function Windows Hello will also be seen on Surface Pro 4 thanks to Intel RealSense tech.

So, has the atmosphere got hotter now? Though, we still need to hear from Microsoft more about Lumia 940 and Lumia 940XL prices and detailed specs!

What do you think about the Microsoft Lumia 940 and Lumia 940XL price in Malaysia?

Huawei Honor 7i vs Lenovo ZUK Z1: the battle you just CAN’T miss

We have just seen the debuts of 2 new smartphones in the last few days and they have brought some good impressions to the public. Those guys all have some special features to stay in people’s minds. So, in order to see how different they are and which one is better than the other, we would like to take a look at them in terms of designs, specs and prices. Then, tell us which is your winner!

huawei honor 7i vs lenovo zuk z1

HUAWEI HONOR 7i VS LENOVO ZUK Z1

Firstly, it is about the design. We can see that ZUK (backed by Lenovo) has chosen a safer way to design their ZUK Z1 with a metal frame together with glass material. That is quite a common look we usually spot on some flagship smartphones. Meanwhile, Huawei Honor 7i decided to stand out by getting rid of the the front-facing camera and adding a flipping one, instead. It means that with just one shooter, you can use it to take quality photos or selfies whenever you like.

Moreover, Huawei Honor 7i also sports a fingerprint sensor on one side of the device while that of ZUK Z1 is placed in its home button, which is what we usually see in phones on the market nowadays. ZUK Z1 can totally be proud of its modern USB Type-C port because Honor 7i does not have it. So, chin up ZUK Z1 and congrats Honor 7i on your interesting design!

Next, we’ll come to the specs, comparison. Basing on the following table, you can notice the differences more clearly:

Huawei Honor 7i Specs

Lenovo ZUK Z1 Specs

Dimensions 143.2 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm 155.7 x 77.3 x 8.9 mm
Weight 157 g 175 g
Display 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 pixels (~423 ppi pixel density) IPS LCD 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 pixels (~401 ppi pixel density) IPS LCD
OS Android EMUI 3.1 UI CyanogenMod 12.1 based on Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop)
Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core 1.5 GHz 32-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400
ROM 32 GB (expandable up to 32 GB) 64 GB (non-expandable)
RAM 3 GB 3 GB
Camera 13 MP Sony IMX230, Phase Detection Auto Focus for fast 0.1s focus, f/2.0 Rear: 13 MP, 4160 x 3120 pixels, autofocus, optical image stabilization, dual-LED flash

Front: 8 MP

Battery Li-Po 3100 mAh Non-removable Li-Po 4100 mAh
Color White, Gold White, Dark Gray
SIM Dual SIM Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)

Well, it is not very hard to recognize the differences between Huawei Honor 7i and Lenovo ZUK Z1. If you care about the screen size, definitely ZUK Z1 is a better choice, for it comes with 5.5 inches. Nonetheless, the pixel density of Honor 7i is a bit higher that that of ZUK Z1 despite the same resolution.

About the processor, they both use Qualcomm chips but the models are not the same. ZUK Z1’s is SD805 (2.5GHz) which is faster than Honor 7i’s SD616 (1.5GHz). Though, they all boast 3GB RAM, which is much powerful than other 1GB or 2GB RAM phones.

As for the camera combo, we have to say that the 8MP front-facing snapper on ZUK Z1 is amazing already, even higher than Xiaomi Mi Note Pro or Sony Xperia Z3 Plus. Yet, if compared to Huawei Honor 7i in this case, the new ZUK smartphone has to step back a bit because its rival owns an up to 13MP selfie cam thanks to the flipping trick. As a result, selfie lovers will have to think a lot about choosing one of them.

Finally in this part, we would like to mention the battery capacity. It is obvious that Lenovo ZUK Z1 has better advantage due to its 4,100mAh. This can be the decisive feature that draws lots of buyers’ attention.

So, that’s all about the specs. How about the price?

Specifically, Lenovo ZUK Z1 kind of surprises people with the affordable Lenovo ZUK Z1 price 1,800 Yuan (about RM1,195) while the Huawei Honor 7i price is even lower: 1,599 Yuan (about RM1,062). Therefore, it seems like Huawei Honor 7i is a good option if your budget is just around  RM1,100.

Of course, that’s our opinion. They have their own strengths and weaknesses, so we need to carefully consider our needs and priorities. Hope that you can pick out the best one for you!

Xiaomi Mi4c: 5″ FHD, MIUI 7 OS and Snapdragon 808 instead of Mi 4i?

It seems like Xiaomi Mi4i has not brought the expected results to the company since it has received quite many complaints about its performances. We think Xiaomi’s also been aware of this situation and come up with some resolution. Is that the reason why we are seeing a new Xiaomi product called Xiaomi Mi4c come in the next weeks?

Xiaomi Mi4c will look similar to Xiaomi Mi4i?

Recently, we have spotted a Xiaomi model named Xiaomi Mi4c not only on the TEENA certification page but also on Geekbench and Antutu benchmark. According to news sources, this Mi4c is a variant fo Xiaomi Mi4i, running a premium Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chip, which runs the flagship LG G4. And obviously, Xiaomi Mi4c is not something that Xiaomi planned before as in the Xiaomi’s roadmap of 2015 we saw months ago, there was no sign of Mi4c. Therefore, we have a feeling that it is a backup plan for Xiaomi to compete with other handsets from ASUS, Huawei, Lenovo, etc. in the budget phone battle.

That even makes us more curious about those guys’ differences which can help Xiaomi Mi4c stand out. So, we pay more attention to the Xiaomi Mi4c specs revealed on the internet. Accordingly, apart from the chipset, its screen size remains 5 inches with Full HD resolution, 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage.

Xiaomi Mi4i

As for the camera, there are still a 13MP main and 5MP secondary shooter for you to capture all the beautiful moments. Besides, the whole phone will be powered by a 3,100mAh battery, quite similar to the old Xiaomi Mi4i. However, one thing that may make you happier is the OS of Xiaomi Mi4c. It is highly expected to be the new Xiaomi MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Moreover, TENAA also mentioned a new feature of this Xiaomi machine. It is Infrared Blaster which enables you to use the device as a universal remote control. Sound interesting?

To recap, we do not know yet if Xiaomi Mi4c still has other special things to distinguish it from Xiaomi Mi4i. But, there is one thing we are sure that will make phone buyers have to consider this device: the processor Snapdragon 808. Hopefully, the Xiaomi Mi4c can solve whatever problems Mi4i is having and come with a good price.

Well, how much do you think Xiaomi Mi4c price in Malaysia will cost? Share with us your opinion about this new device!

Huawei Nexus 6 leak: 5.7″ FHD AMOLED, Android Marshmallow and 8MP selfie cam

Say, we not only have Huawei Nexus (2015) which is in the works, but also have another Nexus device produced by Huawei called Huawei Nexus 6. Through some leaked renders of this device on the internet, we admit that it is beautiful. And now, we’ve got a whole video for Huawei Nexus 6. Let take a look at it!

Huawei Nexus 6 leak

https://youtu.be/Vypj-uzGzlw

This year, Google is expected to release up to 2 Google Nexus models: one version comes with a 5-inch screen and the other is a phablet. So, the handset shown in the video is the phablet as mentioned. According to @onleaks, Huawei Nexus 6 will measure 59.4 x 78.3 x 6,6/8.5 mm, featuring a 5.7-inch FHD AMOLED display. Besides, it will be equipped with a stereo speaker on the front surface, a USB Type-C port, a fingerprint scanner and the newest OS Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

As for the processor, if it is out in the second half of 2015, it is likely that Huawei Nexus 6 will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 chip. Yet, we wonder why Google does not decide to use Snapdragon 820 which is more powerful and newer than SD810. Though, those pieces of info have not been officially confirmed by either Google or Huawei, so we’d better wait a bit more. Other Huawei Nexus 6 specs are 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a combo of 13MP rear and 8MP selfie snapper.

From the video, the Huawei Nexus 6 black version is pretty impressive with a whole metal body. In general, the design looks very unique. Apart from the black color, Huawei Nexus 6 may come with 2 more color variants: Gray and gold.

To recap, another Google Nexus is rumored to come in the next months, launched by Huawei company, called Huawei Nexus 6. We still lack quite many important details about Huawei Nexus 6 specs, Huawei Nexus 6 launch date and Huawei Nexus 6 price. So, keep looking forward to this amazing phablet!

Amazing Nokia Swan Concept: 42MP camera that turns into a Tablet

Recently, we have heard a lot about the ‘back on stage’ information of the giant Nokia brand. Previously, there were many information about Nokia Power Ranger, the great Nokia phone concept. Nokia Power Ranger is really something to look forward to if the phone is to be out in the future.

Nokia-Swan-new-generation                                                 Nokia Swan is a hybrid between a smart phone and a tablet

Moreover, as concepts make us feel more hopeful for the unique mobile market, there are more and more designs coming. One of the special examples is Nokia Swan, a concept by Dani Vinh from Vietnam which has a wonderful phone with huge 42MP camera.

The Nokia Swan combines smart phone and tablet into one device. For normal cell phone use, it is a completely amazing smart phone. With a quad core CPU, probably an Intel chip, and probably over 4GB of RAM, Nokia Swan is really something we should buy. Moreover, it comes with 128GB of internal storage.

When opened, the device transforms into a tablet, with dual touch screens. If you want, you can use it as a small laptop also. SinceNokia Swan display is around 5.3’’, it will turn into a 11’’device when transformed.

Nokia Swan concept is a great thing to look at while waiting for Nokia to come back. Nokia fans out there, are you satisfied with this hybrid device between a smartphone and a tablet? If this device is to come true, Nokia Swan will be a wonderful device for both entertaining and working!

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro leaked with a RM653 price tag?

Is Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro leaked on the internet?

It seems like Xiaomi will continue their current success after Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 with a higher version of it. Let’s say, perhaps it will be called Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro or so. We wonder if it is the device that has been mentioned in some sources as a new Xiaomi machine waiting for receiving a network license. Its model number is 2015712, accordingly.

Besides, we also heard that it will support TD-LTE / LTE FDD / TD-SCDMA / WCDMA / GSM network. Other Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro specs (as we call in this article) will include a 5.5-inch Full HD display, an octa-core 2.2GHz processor (we do not know the brand of the chip yet), 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. In terms of camera, the phone has a 5MP front-facing and a 13MP rear snapper, which we usually see in common phones today.

This higher version of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is said to cost 999 Yuan (about RM653 for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro in Malaysia). Though it is worth more than the Note 2, the price tag is still so affordable. Don’t you think?

In general, we do not have enough official info about Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro to compare it with the standard version Note 2, but basing on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 specs, we can somehow predict what will be improved in the coming product and hope that it will be launched soon in the near future.

ZUK Z1 coming to Malaysia with Cyanogen OS, USB-C and USB 3.1?

In early August, we saw the debut of ZUK Z1, a new smartphone from a company backed by Lenovo. Besides, it was said to be an interesting new competitor in the “affordable yet powerful” smartphone battle. That made us kind of excited and curious but also a bit say when not knowing when it would be available here.

ZUK Z1 coming to Malaysia with Cyanogen OS, USB-C and USB 3.1?

However, recently, there has been good news about its availability on other markets outside China. To be specific, an international model is in the works with Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12.1 out of the box.

Similar to the standard version, the international ZUK Z1 is powered by a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM. On the other hand, the handset also sports a 5.5-inch FHD display, a 13MP main cam, an 8MP front snapper, a fingerprint scanner, and a generous 4,100mAh battery. Moreover, ZUK Z1 is equipped with the modern Type-C USB port and fast USB 3.1 standard. Sound cool?

Nonetheless, one thing we are wondering is that this ZUK Z1 will be sold in all international stores or for just some countries. We predict that Asia, Europe and maybe even North American can be included in its journey.

As for ZUK Z1 price in Malaysia, there is no word announced for that. Though, the Chinese version is expected to cost around $280 (RM1,170). Hopefully when hitting our shelves, ZUK Z1 price tag will still be remained.

According to many reliable news sources, ZUK will officially reveal the international plans for ZUK Z1 at a special event in Shenzhen and we will update all the related info as soon as possible. Then, stay tuned! We’ll come back soon!

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 vs Xiaomi Mi4i: Now we’ll look at their specs and prices!

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 vs Xiaomi Mi4i

1. Specs:

Firstly, it is easy to see that Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Xiaomi Mi4i have the same display resolution but different screen size. This can be understood easily since Redmi Note 2 belongs to the Note series of Xiaomi, yet the difference is not very significant. Apart from that, the camera combo and RAM capacity of 2 phones are quite similar.

About processor, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 uses a new 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 octa-core chip while Xiaomi Mi4i houses a Snapdragon 615 one, which usually receives complaints about heating issue. Furthermore, Redmi Note 2 processor runs faster than its competitor, so that at this point, it seems like the Note has more advantages.

As for the storage, both Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Mi4i offer 2 options: 16GB and 32GB. Basically, they do not include a microSD card slot for us to expand the memory. Though, it is said that the Note 2 Chinese version does contain the slot. Anyhow, that’s what happen in China. When going on international markets, Redmi Note 2 and Mi4i are the same in terms of ROM.

Last but not least, the batteries of both machines are different when Redmi Note 2 coming with a 3,060mAh cell and Mi4i with a 3,120mAh one. In case of caring much about the batt capacity, perhaps many buyers will choose Mi4i.

2. Price and Availability

Xiaomi Mi4i was launched before Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. As a result, it is surely available here with Xiaomi Mi4i prices in Malaysia range from RM750 to RM890. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was just introduced this month and it might take some time to hit our market. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 price is only about RM500, which is kind of lower than the Xiaomi Mi4i price in Malaysia. Therefore, we think Xiaomi new budget phone can probably become the first choice for people to consider.

In conclusion, all the things we have shown you are for your reference. Hope you can make a good decision and share it with us!

Huawei out Huawei Honor 7i with flipping camera for RM 1K

Recently, a new Huawei Honor machine has been launched in Beijing. And it is the Huawei Honor 7i that we heard about a lot of times a few weeks ago.

As what we informed you, this is a unique smartphone due to its camera. It appeared on TENAA with the model name ATH-ALoo. The smartphone was said to bring users interesting experience with a sliding camera. Specifically, it could slide up to show a front-facing shooter with an extra Xenon flash, which would allow you to take beautiful selfies in a whole new way.

But that was before the Huawei Honor 7i launch date. Things have been changed a bit. Honor 7i actually comes with a flipping, not sliding, snapper. Anyhow, it’s also…awesome, right?!

https://youtu.be/9OFOOITX6zo

Compared to Huawei Honor 7, Huawei Honor 7i body is more rounded and made of plastic. The most highlighted feature is its flipping Sony 13MP f/2.0 cam, equipped with sapphire protection and dual LED flash. Interestingly, this cam can flip 180 degrees to become a front cam. You will still have the same 13MP sensor to capture anything you like.

huawei honor 7i

Furthermore, Honor 7i has another special selling point you need to know. It is the fingerprint scanner built on one side of the phone, not on the back or in the home button as usual. That also makes Huawei Honor 7i the “industry’s first” phone sporting the “smallest fingerprint modules.” However, some people have pointed out that such a fingerprint scanner (FC) did exist before Honor 7i. And they were implying ZTE Nubia Z9 Exclusive version, whose FC is placed on its power button and volume rockers on one side of the handset.

In terms of other Huawei Honor 7i specs, there are a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display with 423 ppi, a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor, and a 3,000mAh battery. Besides, you can choose either 2GB RAM plus 16GB ROM or 3GB RAM plus 32GB ROM edition. The whole phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and Emotion UI 3.1, and supports a dual SIM, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.

As for the Huawei Honor 7i price, you can find it right away in China with a price tag of 1,599 Yuan (approximately RM1,030) for 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM via China Mobile, but 1,699 Yuan (approximately RM1,094) via China Telecom and China Unicom for the same variant. The 3GB RAM + 32GB ver is available at 1,899 Yuan (approximately RM1,223) via those 3 mobile carriers. Yet, so far Huawei has not announced any plans to release Huawei Honor 7i on the international markets.

To recap, we are quite interested in this new Huawei Honor device and can’t wait to test its flipping camera and fingerprint scanner on the phone’s side. Hope that Huawei Honor 7i will soon arrive here in Malaysia!
