Apple wins an appellate court ruling, Samsung to nix UI features from older phones
Because of being the two biggest competitors in the markets, Samsung and Apple have always been fighting over customers as well as their copyright of phone features. Nonetheless, they both have losses and wins across the board in different aspects making it hard to determine whom the definite winner is.
In the recent court appeal, Apple seems to be winning this race. According to the court appeal, it states that some of the older editions of Samsung Galaxy phones have been equipped with features that were used exclusively on iPhones, which might have caused harms for Apple’s sales profits. Samsung was required to pay a sum of money of up to 120 million US dollars to make up for harms that they might have caused Apple.
On top of that, no only the court also wanted Samsung to compensate for Apple, but also wanted Samsung to remove these features from their software. Some of the features that were believed to be overlapping between the two big companies were slides-to-unlock, auto-correct, and the quick link ones.
“It’s an important precedent for Apple and any company that seeks to protect product differentiation,” claimed Nick Rodelli, head of CFRA Legal Edge, a US forensic, accounting, and legal research firm. “This broadens their moat here in the U.S. and makes it more difficult for new entrants to come into the U.S. market and rip off Apple’s features.”
These have been found to break the terms of the copyright. These overlaps could be found on Samsung ‘s 2011 flagships, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S2. This might not cause great impact on Samsung’s sales profits and businesses, but this court ruling opens a new chapter to any companies who want their copyright to be protected and to not be copied by any other companies. This would draw a line for any two rivals whose products might be similar in some senses and to force the designers to come up with new ideas that won’t be overlapping between companies and line ups.
Samsung smartphone shipments to rise by just 0.95% this year!
The two rivals Apple and Samsung are the two biggest competitors in the mobile industry nowadays. As a result, their sale profits and the number of product orders are constantly being compared.
According to a recent report, we were told that the shipment for Samsung in 2015 would only be increased by 0.5%, which is a lot less than its rival, Apple, whose product orders in 2015 have increased to 19%. In previous years, specifically in 2012, it was the golden year for Samsung as their shipment rate was at 131%, which was a lot higher than that of Apple at 50%.
However, the number was being dropped down as the year went by. At first, in 2013, the high shipment rate of 131% dropped to 45% and then went all the way to 0% in 2014. The reason for this decrease in shipment rates is unknown or at least not stated in the report.
However, the fact that T-Mobile has cut down its price by 200$ (equivalent to RM862 in Malaysia) on Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy Edges, and this goes for the mobile companies in Europe as well could be due to various reasons or it could be that Apple has finally taken its turn and came out with newer products with excellent features.
Let’s just wait to see what’s in store for Samsung this year 😉 !

Samsung Foldable Smartphone leaked with Snapdragon 820 and 3GB RAM
Some new leaks about the world’s first foldable smartphone have been seen on the internet these days. More interestingly, most of them were originated from a project called Project Valley of Samsung. Let’s check out what it looks like 🙂 !
Samsung Foldable Smartphone leaked pictures
In the the past few months, the mobile industry has been stirred by some pictures of a foldable smartphone made by Samsung company. To be specific, they appeared in a plan called Project Valley.
According to this project, Samsung is preparing and developing a kind of phone featuring 2 screens and it can be folded, literally. This is considered as a truly new step in the smartphone world and Samsung does have whatever it takes to commercialize as well as make money with this new machine. And lately, through some pics of the foldable handset leaked on the internet, we know how Samsung is going to deal with the design and tech to make such a concept come true.
Looking at the photos, the screen which is able to be bent is the key here. It sits right on the of a textile-like material. On the other hand, tensile springs and mechanisms function as a keeper to help the bendable screen stretch tightly once the clamshell opens.
Besides, a few specs about the foldable phone are also spotted. It is said that a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, 3GB of RAM and an expandable internal storage (which means there will be a microSD card slot) will be included. Unfortunately, for other information related to battery, display resolution, color, price, availability, and so on, no words have been officially made, yet we hope that Samsung will soon release more details in the near future.
So, what do you think about this concept and will you be glad to have this foldable smartphone? Share with us your opinions 😉 !

In terms of BlackBerry Venice screen size, previous rumors suggested that it will be a 5.4 inch display. Now with the real life image, the ratio seems legit enough to fit in 5.0-5.5 inch range.
According to our latest information, beside typical Android OS, the company will also add in some signature BlackBerry feature for the Venice slider.
Another leaked piece of information we heard also claimed that, when the device starts up, there will be an image of a bugdroid holding a shield. This image is targeted to emphasize BlackBerry’s security on phone. In other words, it is to ensure users that the BlackBerry Venice is nothing less than another secure handset by the company.
Some other BlackBerry Venice specs we know for now include 3GB of RAM, 18MP camera and a Snapdragon 808 processor in board.

Nokia 3310 Pureview with 41MP camera is the most unique smartphone
First produced in 2000, Nokia 3310 is one of the mobile phones that built Nokia into a legend like today. It is also one of the most popular and successful handsets that is used by so many people around the world. According to reports from Nokia, more than 125 million units of this Nokia 3310 were sold worldwide. And according to what we observe, there is hardly anyone who can not recognize this signature from the Giant.
Well, yeah, but that is not the reason why we are writing this post. What we want to mention is that, there is a rumor suggesting that this handset is making a modern-day comeback. Started as a fan art, but this new Nokia 3310 Pureview is so cool we hope that Nokia and Microsoft will seriously think about bringing it to real life.
Being called a “Windows Phone makeover”, this Nokia 3310 Pureview that we are about to introduce is probably one-of-a-kind that you never see in any other handset.

In this concept, the Nokia 3310 Pureview looks much alike to its original design, but is added with a huge 41MP PureView camera with Zeiss optics and Xenon flash.
The 3-inch display features touch screen and a customized version of Windows Phone 8. In terms of Nokia 3310 Pureview specs, the “smartphone” sports 2GB of RAM, microSD card slot, LTE connection.
You love this Nokia 3310 Pureview already? Cool because so does Nokia.
Actually they even got Juha Alakarhu, Nokia head of Imaging Technologies to say this:
“I’m really excited that we’ve found a way to marry our innovative PureView technology with such a beloved device. With its durable design and iconic look, we think even more people will enjoy our signature PureView magic ”
(Published on official website of Microsoft)
In terms of the new Nokia 3310 Pureview design, you can see in the picture the big round camera on the pack with 41MP written on it. Together with classic metallic dark blue, the Pureview Nokia 3310 also comes in yellow, blue, red and green color options. WOW, a very Microsoft thing!

Although it is not finalized yet even up to today, being published on Microsoft page and being spoken by Nokia authority figure proved a lot. We hope this Nokia Windows phones that looks like a basic phone but actually carries ENORMOUS camera sensor will really come true one day.
Google Nexus 2015 Rumor Roundup – September 2015
The Nexus 2015 is one of the most awaited devices for this year. The Nexus 2015 Launch might be already happening in 2 weeks on 29.9 this year. In this post we will Sum Up all infos and rumors that we have so far about the next Nexus 2015.
The Nexus 6 was undobtedly a great smartphone, but definitely not for everyone. In our opinion the main reasons were the large 5,96″ Screen and also the large price. If you like large phones though, the Nexus 6 is down to 350 USD and a great phone at this price. The large size made very traditional Nexus fans not switch and stay with the older Nexus 5.
Now lets get to the new Nexus 5(2015). According to most information out there, there might be two Nexus 2015 Versions launching soon. One manufactured from LG and one from Huawei.
Reportedly the LG Nexus 5 will resemble the older Nexus 5 very closely and could be a direct successor. Most probably Google will call it the Google Nexus 5x. Earlier reports called it as Codename Bullhead. Rumored specs include a 64-Bit Snapdragon 808, 5.2″ FHD display and 2700mAh battery.
Nexus 5X Design:
This picture is the newest we got for the LG NEXUS 5X. Biggest caveat here is that is very much looks like a Nokia Lumia (see the gallery picture)
Nexus 5X Prices
According to GSMarena the LG Nexus 5x will be priced at 400 USD for the 16GB Base Model. This would make it 50 USD more expensive then its predecessor. Also it would put the LG Nexus 5X in direct competition with the Moto X Pure Edition, which might have higher specs though.
Way more rumors and information are concentrating on a Huawei Nexus 2015 though, so we will focus more on this one.
Reports and information about a Huawei Nexus have been making the rounds for a while now. The good news is that the information comes from multiple sources, including very reliable ones. While LG Nexus 5x is still a bit unclear, we can be pretty sure that Google and Huawei will launch a Nexus 2015 this year. Here is the sum-up of what to expect.
Nexus 2015 Design
We have seen very few clear details of what the Huawei Nexus will be like, but one thing is clear, it will be large again. Most rumors suggest it will be the same size as Samsung’s Note Series with at least 5.7″.
According to leaks from @evleaks, will come with a metal frame and fingerprint scanner. If you know a bit about the Huawei phone line, this reminds of Huawei’s Flagship Mate Series. If you have a look at the upcoming Mate 8 Series, it might very well include some hints at the Nexus 2015 design.
We include also some renders and leaks, mostly from @OnLeaks. @OnLeaks is a great resource of information but of course we cant confirm the authencity yet. See the Gallery at the End of the Post. The most recent includes the Nexus 2015 in a case, which shows quite big top and bottom bezels. According to @onleaks the phone will measure 159.4 x 78.3 x 6.6/8.5 mm and boast front-facing dual speakers.
Original 2013 Nexus 5: 13.79 * 6.92 cm = 95.4268 cm2 (-11.66 cm2)
Galaxy Note 5: 15.32 * 7.61 = 116.5852 cm2 (+9.5 cm2)
Furthermore we have a video, showing the upcoming Huwei. For sure we dont know if its for real yet, but check it out yourself.
Huawei Nexus Display
Most reports so far point to a large 5.7″ Huawei Nexus smartphone, might be even with a QHD resolution of (2560x1440p). This would mean a 515ppi pixel density for the Nexus 2015. Overall this would mean only a small difference to the Nexus 6, due to the small size difference.
Nexus 2015 Specs and Hardware
Most rumors say that the Huawei Nexus will come with Snapdragon 810, like most other flagships in 2015. Evan Blass from @evleaks claims that it will come with Snapdragon 820. Seeing the imminent Launch Date, this is pretty unlikely though.
According to the newest GeekBench Stats the Huawei Nexus 2015 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and 3GB of RAM. Also it will sport Android 6.0 Marshmallow, that will launch officially alongside the new Google Nexus smartphones.
While Snapdragon 810 might not surprise many, it would be a huge change for Huawei. So far Huawei has been exclusively using their own Kirin Chip Series. Most likely Google has the Qualcomm chipset as a condition. Also according to Evan, the Nexus 2015 will come with a fingerprint reader, a first for the Nexus series. This would make a lot of sense, since Android M has native support for fingerprint to make purchases on Play Store etc.
Also there is a good chance that the new Nexus will come with USC Type C, which they already implemented for the new Chromebook Pixel, and also pointed too for new Android smartphones. Probably the new Nexus is not going to have Micro-SD support.
Camera
So far the upcoming Nexus Camera is the point where we have the least information on. We have some rumors that point to a dual-camera setup for the LG Nexus 5x. As well the Huawei Nexus might sport the same Dual Camera Setup as the Huawei Honor 6Plus.
While to most a Nexus 2015 Dual Camera would be gimmick at best, we wouldnt leave the possibility completly out of the game. Google has been playing around with Dual-Camera technology in Project Tango and they seem to have a depth of experience on that subject.
If the we will get a LG G4 Nexus, we hope that they will include the LG G4 camera. So far the Nexus Series Camera quality was ok, but not outstanding. The LG G4 camera would definitely be a great addition to the new Nexus. For the Huawei Nexus we dont have information on Camera yet.
Nexus 2015 Software
Nexus phone stay true to Pure google experience, and we expect this to be the same with the upcoming Nexus 2015. We also know that the next Nexus will sport Android Marshmallow, the newest version of Google’s OS.
Nexus 2015 Prices and Release Date
Most prior nexus devices have been launched in October or November. We expect this to be the same for 2015 Nexus edition, although some reports suggest a launch date as early as 29th September. According to Evan Blass, the Nexus 2015 will start shipping in Q4.
As for pricing, the reports we have so far state a 400 USD Price for the Huawei Nexus 16GB and 450 USD for the 32GB Version. This would make it more expensive then the previous one and also 70 USD more expensive then the OnePlus Two.
Overall we will update this article with the newest leak to the Nexus 2015 Launch. Please share in the comments your ideas on these rumors. What would you like the Nexus 2015 to be like?
