LeTV announces first Snapdragon 820 smartphone: 4GB RAM, 20MP, 4K display

Snapdragon 820, Qualcomm’s latest mobile chipset has been hotter than ever. To contribute to that, more than 30 devices, including Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra and Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro have already signed up for this new SoC.

Now we have recently heard that, LeTV, all the way from China, is now teasing a new smartphone using the Snapdragon 820.  If this comes true and LeTV can launch their next flagship soon in early 2016, they will be ahead of the game, standing in the list of first smartphones to update this new trend.

There are particular specs we all expect LeTV will pack for their upcoming device, to make it even more irresistible with the Snapdragon 820. If the smartphone is about to feature the latest SoC, it should also have premium 4GB RAM, a decent camera of at least 16MP (but more preferably 20MP+) and a big battery from 4000 mAH and above. A beautiful 4K display will also be highly appreciated.

Quick review about LeTV: The company was first established in 2004, but just joined the smartphone market lately and introduced their first devices back in April 2015. Although LeTV is not yet widely known outside China and Asian markets, they are actually a big company with up to 5,000 employees and are growing fast with better and better strategies from time to time.

According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820 supports a new graphics chip that saves 40% of power consumption. The Snapdragon 820 SoC also has a new camera system named Spectra, which provides higher quality of images and other improved features. Qualcomm also says that the Snapdragon 820 will be available starting the first half of 2016. So let’s wait for several months to actually experience this updated version from one of the most powerful chipsets available in our market nowadays.
