On the Asus’s facebook page, teaser image is shared with a line downside: “It’s April 1 and this flagship destroyer is for real”. This is such a plan as the Taiwanese company has successfully get people’s attention towards their new launch in the 2nd biggest country of all.
More than 2 variants of the Zenfone 2 will be released this time in India. They all follow the same pattern of a 5.5-inch 1080p display or a 5-inch 720p display, new ZenUI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and featuring Intel Atom SoCs. There will be differnces in mobile chipset and RAM (2GB or 4GB). Each differs from the others in the internal memory but all can be expended via microSD card (up to 64GB).

Samsung Galaxy S6 review: Samsung answers all critics with the new S6 flagship
It seems that Samsung got lost somehow with Galaxy S line before. From the first S line product, Galaxy S1, Samsung had made it not a flagship worthy bearing the standard for Android phones against Apple. However, with the launch of the Galaxy S6, the company has a chance to fight back.
Most of the criticism pointing at the Galaxy S5 have been fixed, the Galaxy S6 is just simply not as flashy as the Galaxy S6 Edge or other premium devices but it has its own attractiveness. Who said Samsung had lost its mojo?
Samsung Galaxy S6 – a glass design
Customers have been complaining about Samsung’s plastic phones for years. From the S1 in 2010 to the S5 in 2014, they were all plastic. Back to the old days, plastic phones were ok. But for now, why do we have to pay more than $500 (RM 1848) for a phone that itself looks cheap?
All thing has changed in the S6. Literally there’s no plastic on the outside of the phone. The front and back are covered with super-tough Gorillas Glass 4 and its sides are all aluminum.
While the Xperia Z3 also has similar glass and metal outlook, the curved glass makes it look softer and even narrower. The device bring a feeling of boxiness for users but the 6.8mm thickness is hard for adults.
Seeing this design and holding it in hands, we think Samsung should stop producing leather effect plastic phones earlier.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Storage
The S6’s unibody, which means you can’t dismount the back and take out the battery, makes it more premium, more expensive than any other Samsung phones launched last year.
That is ok but the company has also get rid of the memory card slot. This action maybe the response to Apple having success with selling 128GB iPhone. This is obviously a money-making move since many people are happy with a 32GB version anyway. If you want to upgrade into 64GB model, it will cost you RM 20 per month. There’s even a 128GB model available for those who want to spend RM 3180 on a phone.
Samsung Galaxy S6 – The thumb-lover
Not so many people care about the extra coming along with the phone when the basic is good already. Finally, Samsung has embed the fingerprint scanner in the home button, which is right under your thumb. Now instead of wipe over the home button, you just have to place you finger on it, like the iPhone Touch ID sensor.
The new scanner on Samsung Galaxy S6 works better than that on the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5. Should it not work, there is defenitely somthing wrong with your using.
Super AMOLED Display
The screen of the Galaxy S6 is quite amazing. Samsung did a leap up in the screen tech giving it qHD quality with density of 577 ppi stretching over the 5.1-inch screen.
Unless your eyes are as good as an eagle, you will not be able to see the pixels. However, the screen is not the biggest improvement on the Samsung Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S5 had that before. Both boast a Super AMOLED screen giving you flawless contract and deep black whether you are outside or in a cinema. You can also choose you a color palette for your phone: super vivid or more accurate and natural. This is not new but still a great feature anyway.
Android 5.0 Lollipop
The software seems familiar at first but some new stuff may cause some difficulties. The Galaxy S6 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and has the latest version of Samsung’s custom UI.
On this Android 5.0 Lollipop, everything moves differently. When you tilt the phone, there’s a parallax effect on the wallpaper but the animation still don’t react towards them. It makes the phone better organized compared to older phones like Galaxy Note 4. It is a bit more business-like and that’s good.
Like HTC One M6, Galaxy S6 does adopt the themes. We can now change things such as the icons, wallpapers, widgets and system font. This is a full update. But there not much themes available. What Samsung can learn from from HTC One M9 is automatically creating a theme around a picture mechanism.
Other than that, the software is pretty good. The Samsung Touchwiz lags seem to have disappeared making the S6 a joy to use. There’s a couple of time when the phone paused for a second but it may be an early-software glitch rather than a standard performance problem.
Samsung Galaxy S6 specs: EXYNOS vs SNAPDRAGON
The processor power of Galaxy S6 can’t be beaten either. Until March 2015, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were condidered the most powerful phone in the market. Samsung uses its own Exynos 7420 CPU rather than a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip like the HTC One M9.
The top line Snapdragon 810 CPU is said to prone to overheat. That could possibly the reason why Samsung had such move. The Exynos turns out to be a good deal as well. We don’t really care much about it but the company had really done an amazing work.
Geekbench score shows that the Galaxy S6 is nearly 15% more powerful than its main rival at the moment, HTC One M9. The Exynos processor scored 4547 points while the top line Snapdragon only got 3959 points. This point can exceed some laptops.
The phone doesn’t get hot as well. That’s what impresses all of us. The phone just gets a bit warmer but it’s not as warm as what people experience using Sone Xperia Z3, another glass’n’metal phone. It gets hottest when charging as Samsung gives it turbo-charge.
It is alittle bit hard to explain how the company keeps it cool. The Galaxy S6’s Exynos 7420 CPU has transistors that are 14nm across, while the rival Snapdragon uses a 20nm process. The smaller the transistors are, the greater the efficiency is and the less energy waste as heat.
We are not sure how Samsung did it so far but it could create huge advantage with this phone generation.
Battery duration
It is undeniable that the more advanced the processor is, the larger the battery is needs. The Galaxy S6 has a 2,550 mAh battery, which is not much for 5.1-inch qHD display. But, endurance is spectacular overall. With one charge, the phone can survive 14hours video playing and a day and a half. Despite having a slightly smaller battery than the S6 Edge, it seems to last longer. Samsung’s fans have expected to have a 3,000 mAh battery on the S6 but perhaps the company had made a decision.
Samsung had upgraded the charger instead. Now you can get 70% battery capacity with 30 mins of charging. This is when the phone gets hottest.
Samsung Galaxy S6’s camera
In the race for higher megapixel in camera, where HTC has given its latest model One M9 a camera resolution up to 20MP, the S6 sticks with 16MP. The figure itself doesn’t mean anything. The camera is still great after all. Compared with the Galaxy Note 4, the sensor isn’t upgraded but the lens is all new.
It has an f/1.9 lens while most lens on smart phones are f2.0 (the smaller, the better). It’s not the biggest surprise yet as the low-light performance on th Galaxy S6 is way better. Night shots are clearer and brighter, and indoor shots will be far less noisy.
With a 16MP sensor, good light and great dynamic range, you will have wonderful shots. Samsung has recently become a master of HDR photos and it keeps offering even more options for the Galaxy S6. Auto mode is available as well as you can turn HDR mode ON/OFF. The purpose is to give you choices where needed. But nothing can compare with the full HDR shots. Without HDR engaged, you can take as fast as your finger can tap on the screen. Of course, it is in good lighting condition. At night, the speed slow down but still faster than Galaxy S5
The faster sensors gives you the ability to take arty effect pictures too. When shooting close subjects, you can have shallow depth of nicely blurred background. You can’t just get it with lower range phones.
The camera app interfere is awesome too because the HDR switch and other essentials are on the left side, while the shutter and mode selection are on the right side. It create a plain look as it should be.
One good news is that now, with Pro mode, you can manually choose focus, ISO and some other things for your shooting. You don’t to struggle with the auto-focus when taking macro shots.
The device has a 5MP front camera, which is now the standard of most smartphone. For indoor shooting, the phone does it well at managing brightness. Nevertheless, in lower light, details decrease. Honestly, HTC One M9’s UltraPixel camera does better work for selfie purposes.
Samsung Galaxy S6’s Sound
Without the Boomsound, does HTC still have the no.1 speaker? With so much effort, Samsung had made us surprised with the Galaxy S6’s internal speaker this year.
After having putting little speakers at the bottom of the phones for so long, Samsung has eventually put the Samsung Galaxy S6’s speaker to the bottom edge and put it on steroids. It’s louder and higher-fidelity than prior Galaxy phones.
The volume of sound of the Samsung Galaxy S6 is louder than that of HTC One M9 but the quality of sound seems equal. The HTC’s speaker (BoomSound) still rocks but Samsung’s is cool too.
Conclusion
For now, Samsung Galaxy S6 is considered the king among smartphones. Other than being an attempt to get us to hand in $500 or more, it’s an upgrade that fixes almost what is missing in the Galaxy S5.
It’s a new age of Samsung smartphones. One thing we are not pleased is its missing memory slot, where mediaholic may spend $800 to possess a 128GB version.
As for the camera section. The Samsung Galaxy S6 really crushes its opponents owing to screen tech and raw power. Sure there will be some part that HTC One M9 or other high-end smartphones will win but that’s just small number.
If you want to draw attention with flashy outlook and fashionable accessoried, the S6 Edge may be well fit, otherwise, a “flat” Samsung Galaxy S6 is acceptable, where almost every features are similar but the appearance.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 proves itself to be a strong competitor of the famous iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus or any other flagship phones.
After all, ranging from RM 2800 to RM 3400 is the Samsung Galaxy S6 price in Malaysia when releasing . This price is worth investing.

In the occasion of 5th anniversary, at the conference yesterday, Xiaomi had announced a bunch of new products to the crowd.
It only takes Xiaomi 5 years to go from zero to hero. And now, it’s the 4th largest phone manufacturer in the world. The success of Xiaomi is expected to escalate incredibly with the launch of the following 5 new devices: a new pink version of the Xiaomi Mi Note, the 55-inch version of the MiTV 2, a Mi Power Strip, Mi Smart Scale and Redmi 2A.
Mi Note Pink Edition
This pink device is theoretically another variant of the flagship Xiaomi Mi Note. Other than a pink body, everything in this charming phone remains unchanged in comparison with the original version, from the spectacular spec and gorgeous design. Since this is a limited edition, only 20,000 units will be sold. The price os it is also a little bit higher than the basic because it comes with a 5,000 mAh power bank. MiTV 2 55-inch
Xiaomi does give a big surprise with the 55-inch MiTV 2. This large flat screen features a 55-inch 4K Ultra LED Samsung panel, MStar 6A928 processor, 2GB RAM, Wireless sounder and all new aluminium subwoofer.
This 55-inch MiTV 2 costs CNY 4,999 ($806 or RM 2,984) in China. However, due to high import tax, we can’t expect it to go internationally.
Mi Power Strip
The Mi Power Strip is a small charging strip that is as slim as a pencil box. The Power Strip boasts 3 power sockets and 3 USB plug providing fast 2A charging. For safety demand, the company also put an internal shutter mechanism and surge inside. All of this comes along with an amazing price, just CNY 49 ($8 or RM 30).
Mi Smart Scale
The Mi Smart Scale had been leaked before but what we had seen was just a white glass bathroom accessory. Now, more details are uncovered. The Smart Scale can track down the weight of the whole group, up to 16 people and compare it international standard integrated inside. It is compatible with Anfroid and iOS and connect via Mi Fit App.
Similar device from Meizu costs CNY 199 ($32 or RM 119) but this device is only for CNY 99 ($16 or RM59).

Sony Xperia Z4 Benchmark: 5.1″ display, Snapdragon 810, and 20MP camera
It’s been 6 months since the high-end smartphone Sone Xperia Z3 was first released. There are plenty of predictions about the upcoming Z series phone, the Z4. Recently, a GFXBench test on a Sony product coded E6553 has been released. This product can possibly the next Z series, the Sony Xperia Z4.
It seems like Sony is not willing to enter the resolution race on the smartphone. The company is still loyal to 5.1-inch display with a standard, 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. According to the GFXBench’s result, the unknown device from Sony is powered by a 64-bit, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with four ARM Cortex-A57 and four Cortex-A53 cores, Adreno 430 graphics, 3 gigs of RAM, and 32GB of storage. The device is also enclosed with a 20MP main camera and 5MP front-facing shooter.
Not so long before, the metal frame of the Z4 was leaked as well, where stated that the Z4 would be 1mm thinner than its predecessor.
Back to the reason why this code-named Sony E6553 can be the Xperia Z4. It is pretty easy. First of all, the hardware or the spec gets what it takes to be a flagship device we are all waiting for in 2015. Secondly, the code name itself gives us some clues for guessing. There must not be an incident that the capital letter in the front of is in alphabetical order, which can stand for the year of manufacturing. For instance, the Sony Xperia Z was coded C6603 and launched in 2012. We had the letter C. The Xperia Z3, coded D6603, got released in 2014. We had the letter D. Now, the unknown device gives us the letter E. Is there any connection between these letters?
Two reasons above suggest that what we are expecting for can be logically the specs coming from the new Z4.
Xiaomi Launch 80USD Redmi 2A and Pink Xiaomi Mi Note!
At today’s conference, Xiaomi has announced 2 new handsets. One is Redmi 2A, the 80USD phone we had talked before, and the other one is a variant of its Mi Note, a Pink Mi Note
First, targeting directly to ladies who love fashion and technology, the company gives us a Pink Phone.
Actually, this new Pink Phone is a female version of the Xiaomi Mi Note, which has been well-known for a while up to now. This is not the first variant of the flagship Xiaomi Mi Note. Just about one week ago, a natural bamboo edition Mi Note was debutted as well. Compared to the original version of the Mi Note, other than all-pink exterior, every spec detail remains the same. People say that this pink phone takes inspiration from the Bazaar editor in chief: Somans.
However, the price the Xiaomi Mi Note Pink Edition will be higher than the original one, about CNY 2,499 (nearly RM 1,500), since the pink one comes along with a gift box containing a Xiaomi Mi Note Pink Edition 16GB and a 5,200 mAh battery.
One more thing, only 20,000 units of this gorgeous pink phone will be sold worldwide. It will officially go on sale on April 8th.
Another phone that comes out today is Redmi 2A. After a long time being rumored, the company has finally announced the next gen of cheap phone. As being said, the device is equipped with L1860C quad-core processor, and powered by 1.5GHz, GPU for Mali T628MP2.
Moreover, the phone features a 4.7-inch 720p screen, a 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front-facing camera and a 2,200 mAh battery. 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory will be embedded. the device also supports 2 SIM, 4G LTE and fast charging mode.
The official price for Redmi 2A is CNY 599 (about $97 or RM 357). But on the first day of launching, April 8th, Xiaomi does offer all its fans a CNY 100 off, which means the phone cost you only CNY 499 ($80 or RM 297).
What a price!!!
New Xiaomi Mipad 2 leak including call function
After being rumored for a while, images of the Xiaomi Mipad 2 have eventually been released. The image reveal that the design of the Mipad 2 is refined and looks more authentic. The specs still remains a mystery to all Xiaomi’s fans but according to some of previous rumors, the device will have 7.9-inch retina display, 2GB RAM. Some have said that the device can possibly feature a 1.8GHz Intel chipset instead of NVIDIA’s Tegra K1.
This new model has its appearance looked like the Mi Note at the curved glass and the placements of camera and sensor. The Mi logo is on the upper left and the earpiece is at the center. There is a possibility that the Mipad can make phone calls. If so, this will be a good move of Xiaomi as Cellular data increases the portability of Xiaomi’s products. Looking at the Mipad, Xiaomi does it well to make it a flashy tablet rather than a colorful one.
This can be the first device that runs on MIUI 6, which is based on Android Lollipop. Furthermore, the Mipad 2 has a metal frame and a glass back as we can see on the picture.
The Mipad was the first tablet of Xiaomi, a fast-growing Chinese OEM and it turns out tobe a successful one. How’s about the Mipad 2? Can it be a phenomenon among kinds of tablet available in the market once again?
Asus Zenfone 3 rumor: fingerprint scanner included?
The Asus Zenfone 2 is still now on the wishlist of many Asus fans around the world as it‘s got affordable price along with spectacular specs and gorgeous design. What can customers expect more from the next gen of smartphone produced by Asus?
Asus has been officially introducing the Zenfone 2 in Taiwan and China, and other areas will soon get the device in the following months. With up to 4GB RAM, Intel CPU, and stunning appearance, Asus Zenfone 2 is really a global phenomenon. While the phone is still hot, Asus has already had a plan on the improvement and replacement.
According to Asus boss Jerry Shen, the Asus Zenfone 3 will be launched on the latter half of the year. Other than an updated model of the Zenfone 2, the Zenfone 3 will be added some more specific feature. A fingerprint scanner embedded can be an example.
Once again, we can hope that the phone is shipped with 4GB RAM and Intel CPU.
There are hundreds of rumors about the design of the Zenfone 3? Will it remain the same? Will it be thinner? Will it be narrower? The only thing we can do is to wait until we get the official info from the producer.

OnePlus Two with Snapdragon 810 and fingerprint identification?
Last year, nearly one million units of the OnePlus One were sold. The trend of making flagship phone at a lower price is proved to be a successful one. Obviously, there will be obstacles in the path but OnePlus has experienced a lot. When the OnePlus Two come out, it should go much smoother. However, it is not expected to happen until Q3, 2015. At the moment, the OnePlus Two is the main topic of some gossiping.
The OnePlus Two is said to have an incredible design compared to its forerunner, the OnePlus One. Also, rumor has it that the OnePlus Two looks like the Oppo Find 7. If so, it is not quite surprising because many of OnePlus top executives come from Oppo. And further connection between 2 companies is hard to explain.
In addition, it is expected to have fingerprint identification system driven in the home button. The latest Qualcomm 64-bit Snapdragon chipset powers the phone. Another specific spec of this new OnePlus phone has been told tales is that it ships a 5.5 inches qHD display, which is of the equal size of the OnePlus One. It carries a 3,100 mAh battery which is an upgrade from a 3,000 mAh battery of the OnePlus One.
Thanks to some innovation in comparion with the OnePlus One, the new OnePlus Two is going to cost you more than its sibling. What we do expect is the improvement of the invitation system of the OnePlus Two. To have that incredible price and razor thinness, OnePlus company must have a very good grasp of supply and demand to compete with its rivalries. It’s been a while since the first OnePlus One was released. With that given period, the company is sure to have come up with a lot better ideas to keep it moving forward.
One of the co-founders of OnePlus claims that the OnePlus Two will surprise people. Hopefully, we will soon witness that amazement.
