4. Gionee Elife E8: 6-inch screen

Well, if LeTV Le Mas is most powerful here, then Gionee Elife E8 is its “scary” competitor. Gionee Elife E8 specs have whatever it takes to be a wonderful flagship: a 6-inch 2K AMOLED screen with 490 ppi, 3GB RAM, 64GB ROM (expandable up to 128GB) and a 3,500mAh battery. Its cameras are even better than the Max’s. The rear one is capable of 24 megapixels and the front is 8 megapixels. Those who love selfie may fall for this phone as well.

5. Sony Xperia C5 Ultra: 6-inch screen

Spec-wise, the front screen measures 6 inches with IPS LCD FHD display. Impressively, C5 Ultra has a borderless design which makes it look pretty cool. After Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus launch, we immediately think about Apple iPhone 7. Though the iPhone 7 launch is still a year away, nothing can stop rumors and concepts from flying all over the internet. So far we’ve heard that iPhone 7 will come without a home button and now we’ve got something related to its screen, something related to OLED display.

Actually, we think the rumor can be reliable since it was from AppleInsider. Accordingly, the iPhone 7 will sport an OLED display, which means they will give up on LCD one. As we know, Apple watch is the only Apple device featuring an OLED screen nowadays and no smartphone is equipped with it. Back to 2013, Tim Cook claimed that the OLED was “awful” when it came to color saturation, which is totally different from what they are going to do with the iPhone 7 if the leak comes true. Yes, he may have changed his mind. The, what can be the reason behind this?

A possible one perhaps is that OLED display has been improved a lot compared to itself in 2013. Specifically, it is able to offer a deeper black and work without a backlight, so the smartphone containing it will be slimmer, a good idea for the upcoming iPhone 7. And we guess that LG can continue supplying Apple with OLED displays like they did for the Apple Watch.

In conclusion, changing from LCD to OLED is an awesome way to give phone users a better visual experience and Apple iPhone 7 can become more famous than its predecessors. Though, the company has not confirmed yet. So, let’s wait and see!

About Everdisplay & 4K AMOLED Display

Everdisplay – a display manufacturer in China has just introduced a 6-inch 4K AMOLED display with 734ppi pixel density. Currently, the highest pixel density on the mobile device is said to be the Samsung Galaxy S6 with 5.1-inch QHD AMOLED screen (reach up to 577ppi pixel density).

At the end of 2014, the Everdisplay manufacturer began mass producing 5-inch 720 AMOLED displays. Followed by, the company continue to brought out the 5.5-inch and 6-inch panels for mobile devices, along with 1.4-inch 400×400 circular AMOLED for the wearable market, and 8-inch AMOLED for the automobile market.

4K Display For Devices

According to Everdisplay company, they have not intended to apply the new 4K resolution display for smartphones, instead of that the company will focus on virtual reality devices (VR).

The company shared that the distance from our eyes to VR displays  is  much closer than to the screen of smartphone. For this reason, VR need higher screen resolution.

Up to now, Everdisplay still has not revealed the specific time to bring the AMOLED 4K panel into production. However, the Everdisplay’s 4K screen (734ppi) is still not a most impressive panel to be introduced. In this early year, Sharp has launched an IGZO with 4K resolution and pixel density up to 806ppi.

Samsung even claimed to be ready for producing a 11K display, one of their coming products will have up to 2250ppi pixel density. This is such an incredible figure at the present moment.
