Have you watched one of the most important events in the technology world – IFA 2015 live stream? Many announcements were made, yes, and we are ready to introduce you some great news, with Acer’s brand new Gaming Phablet Acer Predator 6.

It seems Acer, more popular for their awesome Acer Gaming Laptops will make a comeback with its new flagship killer Acer Predator 6. Aiming at gamers who want a powerful beast for their large games, Acer Predator 6 is a phablet with huge screen and great specs: deca-core processor and 4GB RAM.

acer predator 6Acer Predator 6 is an upcoming gaming phablet from the company

For now, Acer only unveils the device’s most basic Acer Predator 6 specs. As we have stated above, Acer Predator 6 display is a huge 6’’ screen, which means more viewing experience while gaming. Moreover, 4GB of RAM is really great, and it seems the other flagships will have to be aware of this phone’s power. Especially those from bigger companies like Samsung or Sony.

The Acer Predator 6 smartphone gets its power from a deca-core processor, which we guess is the Helio X20 from Mediatek. Acer Predator 6 camera is said to be a whooping 21MP sensor, which rivals that of Sony’s previous flagship –Sony Xperia Z3.

acer predator 6 (2)

Announced together with Acer Predator 6 is a tablet for gaming, named Acer Predator 8 tablet. The name suggests that the tablet will feature 8’’ FHD screen. Moreover, this tablet sports 2GB RAM, and 32 or 64GB of internal storage. The tablet gets its power from Intel Atom X7-Z8700 processor. With only 2GB of RAM, the Acer Predator 8  will most likely be cheaper then the smartphone. The Predator 6 Release Date will be together with the tablet though.

Acer Predator 6

Asides from the Acer Predator 6 Specs above , not many specs of the two gaming beasts are unveiled. However, as we know they will be in the market soon, the hype is very strong. At the moment, there is no information on availability and pricing of any of them. Price Pony will update Acer Predator 6 price in Malaysia as soon as we receive further news.

Gamers, are you excited? Will Acer Predator 6 Malaysia make you wow like these beasts have done? Leave us a comment to let us know more about your thoughts 🙂

After so many days of waiting, finally Sony has officially introduced their flagship Sony Xperia Z5 at the IFA 2015.

As what we expected, Sony has brought us up to 2 flagship smartphones this year. They are Sony Xperia Z3 Plus (aka Sony Xperia Z4 in Japan) and Sony Xperia Z5, which has just been launched at the beginning of September. Of course, Sony Xperia Z5 is the main character in this post, but since it also has other siblings such as Z5 Premium and Z5 Compact, we would like to talk about them later.

For the Sony Xperia Z5 design, the company still uses the “OmniBalance” design. In fact, Z5 does not really look different from its predecessors. The power button on a side of the Z5 is a bit bigger than usual to include the fingerprint sensor, which is something that we have been informed of before.

ASUS ZenFone 2 vs ZenFone Zoom: What is the main difference?

ASUS ZenFone 2 or ZenFone Zoom?

zenfone 2 vs zenfone zoom

ASUS ZenFone 2 ZenFone Zoom are both from the same house and said to be the key products of their company this year. While ASUS ZenFone 2 has been receiving a lot of success and fame in the mobile industry, ZenFone Zoom seems to be a bit “quieter” than its sibling. However, it does not mean that the Zoom has no potential to be a hot machine. In fact, ASUS ZenFone Zoom specs, especially the camera, are really worth consideration. So, what should we choose between these quality handsets? Let’s find out the answer together 😉 !

ZenFone 2 is considered as a strong upgraded version of ASUS ZenFone 5 in terms of specs and design. One thing that has made Zen 2 so famous is its powerful 4GB RAM, which also brought it the “world’s first 4GB RAM phone” title. On the other hand, ASUS ZenFone Zoom is also able to sport the same fantastic RAM. Then, apart from that one, are there any differences?

Spec-wise, in order to show you a clearer view of these guys’ differences, we have created the following table:

ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE551ML   ASUS ZenFone Zoom
Dimensions 152.5 x 77.2 x 10.9 mm Dimensions 158.9 x 78.8 x 12 mm
Weight 170 g Weight 185 g

SIM Dual SIM (Micro-SIM, dual stand-by, dual call) SIM Dual SIM (Micro-SIM, dual stand-by)
Color Osmium Black, Sheer Gold, Glacier Gray, Glamor Red, Ceramic White Color Meteorite black, Glacier white

We can see that there is not many differences to state. The only one goes to the camera system. First, ASUS ZenFone 2 rear snapper is equipped with dual LED flash and PixelMaster function, helping capture photos in low light condition (brightness can increase up to 400%). In addition, there is a 5MP front cam with Beautification feature that will make your selfies even more gorgeous. Furthermore, it has Selfie Panorama mode for 140degree wide images. In general, we cannot deny that the shooter system of Zen 2 is already good, but how about ZenFone Zoom?

ASUS ZenFone Zoom appears to be a smartphone for those who love taking pictures. Despite being capable of the same 13 megapixels, ASUS ZenFone Zoom rear camera boasts many advanced features such as laser autofocus, 3x optical zoom, optical image stabilization, and dual LED flash. Interestingly, the 3x optical zoom reminds us of Nokia 1020 but it is much slimmer at 11.95 mm, bringing us a feeling of holding a professional and fashionable camera.

Nokia 1020

Well, as for the cost, ASUS ZenFone 2 price ranges from RM600 to RM1,300. Meanwhile, ASUS ZenFone Zoom price has not been officially announced. As a result, you may have to wait. Yet, since ASUS smartphones are known as affordable ones, so we predict that Zen Zoom will also come with a good price tag.

In conclusion, we think that if you are looking for a device good at taking photos, you should choose ASUS ZenFone Zoom. Otherwise, ASUS ZenFone 2 would be enough for either normal or heavy use!

Surprised with the result of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 durability test

Besides the good package of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 specs and attractive price, lately Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has made people surprised by its impressive durability when examined in tests involving water and height ;). What are they and how is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 after such tough exams? Let’s check it out now!

As we know, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has been one of the most well-known smartphones currently. Consumers not only in China but also in other countries really fall for it since the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 price of around RM500 and features are so good that they cannot resist it. But, of course, as it is getting more attention, Note 2 will have to face more challenges to prove its true value. And some of them have recently been shown on the internet. Interestingly, we found one that can reveal how long-lasting this Xiaomi’s product can be.

A Youtube user known as Sami Lou posted a video of testing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 durability. From our point of view, the exams seemed difficult for smartphones! Firstly, Redmi Note 2 had to be soaked in water for a short period of time. Then, it was dropped from the height of 1.5m and 1.8m to a hard surface. However, once the test finally finished, surprisingly, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was still able to work normally without any serious damages. To be honest, it gave us a totally new impression about the quality of this mid-range handset. How about you?

In conclusion, no matter what the doer thought when doing it, the video has succeeded in highlighting the good side of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. And we have to say that it will not be strange at all if Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 can create a hit sale for the company in the near future. It has what a typical phone user usually looks for in terms of specs, price and durability.

Nokia & Alcatel-Lucent’s deep secret: 14 millions and overtaking Samsung?

Nokia Phones is going to acquire Alcatel-Lucent as part of its revival to the mobile phone business. However, what benefits will the merge bring to both Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent? Recent news show that the CEO of Alcatel-Lucent will receive around 14 million from this merge. Although the deal is not closed yet, it seems this is a wise move for Alcatel-Lucent.
Ever since the announcement, Alcatel-Lucent only has a few months to complete leftover tradings before all the business is taken over by Nokia. And Alcatel-Lucent CEO, upon signing this contract, will receive around 14 millions in bonus for over three years.
However, as France is in crisis, the government calls up Combes (Alcatel-Lucent’s CEO) on this issue. The CEO said this amount is not only for his departure but also for the recovery plan of Alcatel-Lucent as well. The company also announced that Combes has saved it from bankruptcy. And that is what is the most important thing the merge has done for Alcatel-Lucent.

But as for Nokia, what benefits do the Finnish company get? As we all know, Nokia phones is coming back in 2016. However, Samsung phones is leading in this market. To get as much workforce and power back to their prime days the last decade, buying smaller companies is a good choice. Moreover, as Alcatel-Lucent already has cooperation with some Chinese firms, which is one of the largest markets, Nokia Phone Comeback is going to reserve some upper-hand moves.

Nokia Smartphone Comeback 2016

Whatever it is, Nokia coming back will make many other big names in the mobile world a bit uneasy. Let us wait until 2016 to see if any amazing flagship will be out, and if this merge proves fruitful for both companies. In the mean time, you can check out several articles about upcoming Nokia phone concepts here.

The video is supposed to be officially launched next Wednesday for the announcement of Sony’s biggest flagships of the year.

Although the video is spoken in French and the resolution is not the best (since this is just a leaking version), we still enjoy what is provided: real Xperia Z5 hands on pictures! If anyone of our PricePony readers can understand the conversation, please share with us so everyone can enjoy 🙂

Sony Xperia Z5 trio – What to be expected

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, the most “high-end” version among the three, is expected to feature 5.5” screen with 4K display and amazing 23MP front camera. From the Sony Xperia Z5 hands on that we see, the device has an elegant and classy gold color with typical Sony design.

Sony Xperia Z5 may be the most talked-about among the three. If nothing changes, the Sony Xperia Z5 hands on will come with 4GB of RAM, 4,5000 mAH and 4K video support and 23MP camera.

For now, we don’t know much about the Sony Xperia Z5 compact, yet. But as usual, a “compact” version of a flagship tends to be slightly smaller in size, less premium specs and of course, in return, a more affordable price. So we won’t be surprised if the Xperia Z5 compact will have 3GB of RAM and 3,500 mAH or so.

HTC One A9 (aka HTC Aero): World’s first 4K display and deca-core chip phone

HTC Aero has been said to be the next flagship smartphone of HTC and will be launched sometime later this year. Moreover, it will be one of the world’s first devices to sport the powerful deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor.

And recently, a new piece of info mentioned that HTC Aero will probably be called HTC One A9 9 (is that “A” for Aero?), according to @evleaks. Though the source’s news has not been confirmed yet but it is highly possible that it will be the case since HTC One is one of the most important, premium brand of the company. As a result, it is not strange at all if the next HTC flagship comes from the One series.

Besides the deca-core processor, there can be a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display, 4GB RAM and an interesting rear camera supporting RAW photography. With such hing-end features, HTC One A9 price can reach around $500 – $600 (RM2,086 – RM2,503).

Despite the claimed info that HTC One A9 (or HTC Aero) will be released at the end of this year, we are quite unclear about its availability since the MediaTek has announced that devices powered by their MediaTek Helio X20 processor would not be available before the early 2016. Then, maybe the One A9 will hit the shelves at the beginning of 2016. Let’s see what will happen.

In conclusion, this amazing smartphone with so many top features will bring great experience to consumers, which can help HTC get back on track. In the following gallery, let’s have a look at some alleged pictures of HTC One A9 (aka HTC Aero), then, share with us your opinions about it 😀 !
