Lenovo K80M: 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM & 4000mAh for only RM 750

Lenovo K80, which has been a top device in its range, sports good specs such as 4GB RAM and 4000 mAh. For RM 1000, Lenovo K80 is a great choice. However, that is not the only good phone you will have. Lenovo K80M, a 2GB RAM version of the phone, is a nice deal for those who want a good phone but still is offered at budget price.

Lenovo K80M display will be a 5.5” IPS screen with 1080p resolution, the same as what we found on Lenovo K80. Moreover, it gets power from a 64-bit Intel Atom processor at 1.8 GHz, which Lenovo K80 also sports. Therefore, we have almost the same power and basic performance on both devices.

The most notable different between Lenovo K80M and Lenovo K80 specs lies in the RAM and ROM. Lenovo K80M only sports 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, instead of 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage on the original device.

Even if this is a cheaper version, 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM seems great enough. Moreover, Lenovo K80M battery is still the huge 4000 mAh one, which adds more charm to this handset.

Lenovo K80M camera is a 13MP sensor with 5MP front snapper. Moreover, you also get optical image stabilization for better photo quality.

At the moment, there is no info on Lenovo K80M release date outside China yet. However, Lenovo K80M price in the Malaysia should be around RM 750. Considering this is a good deal, we hope Lenovo Malaysia will bring the handset to us as soon as possible.

Nokia – Alcatel Deal gets official with green light from Authorities

In April this year, Nokia fans got the good news that Nokia is planning to buy the french Alcatel-Lucent. Now the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States has approved the Nokia – Alcatel purchase. The U.S. Department of Justice approved the Nokia deal earlier, which means that now the way is free for what could potentially make Nokia – Alcatel one of the biggest telecom-gear producers’s worldwide.

After countless speculation about the future of Nokia, Nokia announced in April to buying its rival Alcatel for 15.6 billion euros (17.68 Billion USD). The EU’s Antitrust commitees already approved the deal earlier, noting that the two companies would still face strong competition, without danger of a monopoly.

Huge plus Huge equals Much Huger ???
Nokia buys Alcatel Lucent

The deal will probably close in the first half of 2016. While most of the press calls the deal, a combination of Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent, its really an acquisition by Nokia. Nokia offered their shares for a 0.55 to 1 ratio to Alcatel-Lucent Shareholders. That means after the deal Nokia shareholders will have 66.5% of the shares and Alcatel shareholders the remaining 33.5% of the combined company.

The new cooperation will be called Nokia Corporation and still be headed in Finland, the origin of Nokia smartphones. AL, similar to Nokia Networks is working on networking equipment. Combined revenues for 2014 were close to 26 Billion Euro. With the two companies combined, their more then 40.000 employees in R&D will focus on development of 5G, Internet of Things and also cloud services.

With this the Nokia Cooperation will become a direct competitor to Huawei and Ericsson. Ericsson holds the largest share of ireless network equipment industry at 40% and Huawei 20% as the cost leader. The new formed Nokia – ALcatel company will have 35% immediately.

Since Nokia sold their phone division to Microsoft last year, for 7.2 Billion they have focused mainly on network equipment, location services and patent licensing. Alcatel-Lucent is not directly connected to the phone maker Alcatel, many news missing this important piece of information.

We want to end with a good note for all Nokia Smartphone fans. Here an excerpt from the Nokia-Microsoft Deal: “Upon the closing of the transaction, Nokia would be restricted from licensing the Nokia brand for use in connection with mobile device sales for 30 months and from using the Nokia brand on Nokia’s own mobile devices until December 31, 2015.”

This means as of January 2016, Nokia is free to use the Nokia brand for smartphone sales. With the release of the Nokia C1 we might very well see the first Nokia Android Phone in 2016. Source: TheStreet.com

Lenovo Vibe X3 cameras are good too, packing a 21MP for main shooter and 8MP selfie sensor.

One downside is the thickness of the phone since it measures 154 x 76.4 x 9.4 mm and it would weigh around 175 grams. However, there must be a reason for them to design it this way, and it could mean a very large battery with the essential long lasting battery life.

Tell us what do you think about the Lenovo Vibe X3 desgin? Do you guys like it?

Samsung Galaxy S7 aka Project Lucky: 4GB RAM, 4K display

“Project Lucky” is known as the codename for the rumored Samsung Galaxy S7. Even though, it hasn’t been long since the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge Plus came out, rumors state that Samsung is already in the process of developing their next flagship, and it’s been promised to provide as high quality product with amazing features if not better.

The new Samsung Galaxy S7 will also display 4GB RAM, which matches the amount included in the most recent Samsung’s product. The Samsung Galaxy S7 would also have a 16-megapixel rear camera and a large 5.7-inch display. The rumors have also stated that Samsung would launch two sizes of the Galaxy S7 at the same time, hence the users would have more than one option as to which phone to select from. An interesting piece of information to note is that the rumors have claimed that the S7 would possibly have 4K resolution that matches exactly the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, another competitor in the market.

Samsung Galaxy S7 aka Project Lucky

Another exciting news for the users who usually like a lot of storage on their phones, Samsung Galaxy S7 might come back with the additional microSD card on top of the already built in internal storage options of either 32 GB or 64GB. This “Project Lucky” seems very promising with all the amazing built-in features as well as the additional pieces that are worth noting. This new project might be another hit in the near future when it comes out for us users.

However, these are still rumors and haven not been officially confirmed, but this could be something worth anticipating. Stay tuned! We will come back with more interesting info!

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 leak: 5.7″ QHD, 4GB RAM and 23MP

Xiaomi is said to be working on a new phablet with super thin bezels Snapdragon 820 processor. This product will be a strong competitor that can even make Apple iPhone 6S Plus và Samsung Galaxy Note 5 worried.

The mentioned machine will be called Xiaomi Mi Note 2, a successor to Xiaomi Mi Note launched at the beginning of this year. Looking at the picture, we are quite impressed by the phone’s thin bezels. The Home button can be equipped with the fingerprint tech Sense ID Ultra-Sonic of Qualcomm. On the back, there is a dual camera, which means that the picture quality will be enhanced a lot, similar to what a Lytro camera or HTC One (M8) can do.

Some latest news claims that Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560) screen, promising to give you great experience with images, videos, etc. Moreover, the new handset will be powered by the new Snapdragon 820 chip paired with Adreno 530, 4GB RAM plus 32GB or 64GB of storage. Other specs include a 3,500mAh battery together with Quick Charge of Qualcomm, and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.

In terms of taking photos, Mi Note 2 sports an up to 23MP rear snapper and 12MP front one. Can you believe it? We know that everything can happen in this modern world where technology is developing incredibly strongly, but if the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone owns such a perfect combo, it totally can beat a lot of devices on the market.

Unfortunately, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 launch date is announced to be next year and there are no words made for Xiaomi Mi Note 2 price as well as its availability in the international stores.

Then, what would you say about this beast from Xiaomi company? Share with us your opinions 🙂 !

LG G4: 5.5″ 2K screen, 16MP cam and AMAZING 8,500mAh battery

Recently, we’ve got some interesting news related to the flagship LG G4 launched in April this year and it will get you excited 😉 !

We all know that LG G4 already has a great set of specs, but now, it will be even more impressive when sporting Zerolemon’s new battery pack for the LG G4. Basically, LG G4 just features a 3,000mAh cell but for a flagship containing many top specs like G4, it does not seem enough for most people. If that’s the case, now Zerolemon battery pack for the LG G4 can help solve the problem easily since it extends the phone’s batt capacity up to 8,500mAh able to provide three-day life, even with fairly heavy use. That’s an amazing number!

Nonetheless, one thing making us worried is that the phone will look ugly due to such a huge battery. In fact, with the new 8,500mAh cell, LG G4 measures 21.3mm and weighs 178g (increased from 9.8mm and 155g), not really much heavier but a lot thicker. Though, some others do not care much about that. They just simply like having a phone that does not need charging everyday. Besides, Zerolemon has been able to give the machine a soft-touch plastic back case implementing back-mounted buttons.

For those who feel interested in this new feature of LG G4, you can now get the battery with only $59.99 (RM258) plus an 180-day money back guarantee.

For other LG G4 specs, you can have a look at the following table:

Samsung Galaxy A9 leak: 3GB RAM, 13MP Cam and Snapdragon 620

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 just hit the market not long ago, but now we are informed of a new Samsung phone in the works. Most people would think about Samsung Galaxy S7 at once since many rumors about that remarkable flagship have been spreading on the internet these days. Though, it is not! Actually, it is a machine belonging to the Samsung Galaxy A range, called Samsung Galaxy A9.

Obviously, it is the successor to Samsung Galaxy A8 launched in July, 2015 and said to be powered by a Snapdragon 620 SoC chip. Recently, the device also appeared in the database of GeekBench with the model number known as “Samsung msm8976fhdlte-eur-open”. That’s pretty complicated!

Samsung-Galaxy-A9-images (1)

Samsung Galaxy A9 leak on GeekBench

Samsung-Galaxy-A9-images

However, it gives us some hint about the Samsung Galaxy A9 specs. Specifically, we notice the part “msm8976”, which usually refers to the presence of Snapdragon 620 processor with CPU consisting of eight cores — quad-core Cortex-A72 and quad-core Cortex-A53. Moreover, the chip has the ability of recording 4K videos and playback. As for other Samsung Galaxy A9 specs, there are a rear 13MP camera, 3GB RAM and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.

Samsung-Galaxy-A9-images (2)

Well, there is not much detailed information of Samsung Galaxy A9 features released at the moment, but we have seen its scores on the benchmark: 1325 points in the single-core test and 4461 points in the multi-core test. In fact, they are quite an impressive results for SD 620, a chipset considered Qualcomm’s “not premium” silicon.

In terms of Samsung Galaxy A9 price and availability, we have received no info related to them. Anyhow, we wonder if Samsung really wants to introduce up to 2 Galaxy A products this year or they will wait a bit more to make Galaxy A9 a “bomb” smartphone in early 2016.

Then, what do you think about the idea of Samsung Galaxy A9?

Sony mocks Apple over iPhone 6S battery life

The new Apple iPhone 6S launch has been the hottest news during these past couple days with new features and the unchanged battery life.

iPhone 6S

With the impressive features that Apple has always come up with and also with the unchanged battery life that would last users an entire day, would there be a weak spot for this new line-up?

iPhone 6S

Surprisingly, this question was answered by Sony, who tweeted a question: “Hey Siri, what about the battery life?”and provided a link on how to switch to Sony from iOS, it seems that Sony might have just found the sore spot for the new Apple iPhone 6S line-up.  Sony claimed that their new Sony Xperia Z5 line-up provides users with 2 days worth of battery and that’s something the Iphone 6S is not capable of.

iPhone 6S

Not only Sony has been boasting about their new line-up, but also Samsung is attacking the Apple’s new product. Samsung has been tweeting about its latest Samsung Galaxy S6 line-up and how similar it is between the Apple iPhone 6S specs and the Samsung’s products. These companies have always been competing over their products every time new products release.

iPhone 6S

In general, different products and line-ups have their strong features as well as sore spots, as in the case with the Apple iPhone 6S battery life, but what are your opinions? Which phone would you prefer using? The ones with cooler features that might require more charges or the ones with less features but might last you an entire day or two? Which would be beneficial for you as a user?

Waterproof Sony smartphones have to stay away from water?

Sony has posted an announcement related to Sony Xperia Z5 as well as other waterproof Sony smartphones on their official product page: “You should not put the device completely underwater or expose it to seawater, salt water, chlorinated water or liquids such as drinks. Abuse and improper use of device will invalidate warranty.” Sony, what does it mean?

This seems like Sony is not confident of their high-end waterproof smartphones though they feature IP68-certified resistance against water and dust. The company even refuses to fix broken Sony devices under warranty. Honestly, it kind of disappoints those who believe that they can comfortably use Sony waterproof phones underwater.

Explaining for this situation, Sony says that the IP ratings of these smartphones show that the phones are able to work after they are submerged under the water in some strictly controlled experiments. Moreover, they are carefully put in a tank and taken out after a certain period of time (said to be 30 min.).

However, such conditions cannot always happen in real life. For example, if you use a Sony waterproof smartphone in a swimming pool, it has to deal with some harmful chemicals. In addition, swimming and using phones at the same time can make the machine suffer from different water pressure levels, which is not what Sony can guarantee.

The new policy is applied to the latest products of Sony such as Sony Xperia Z3 Plus, Z4, Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium. You should bear in mind that those guys will be okay with raindrops, spilled drinks, or being used with wet fingers but not underwater.

Well, in conclusion, Sony has just claimed that people should not use waterproof phones underwater. Then, we guess that Sony also should change their ads for those handsets. How about you? What do you think about the news?
