Meizu Pro 5: Premium 5.5″ FHD phone to launch on September 23
The latest Meizu leak mentioned Meizu MX5 Pro Plus as the upcoming device powered by the strong Exynos 7420 chip (used in the flagship Samsung Galaxy S6) instead of Meizu MX5 Pro. And it seems like the Meizu MX5 Pro Plus launch date is near. However, will it still be called Mezu MX5 Pro? A recent news may help answer this question.
An official invite from Meizu company for a September 23 event in Beijing has been seen lately and it hinted that a flagship device would be unveiled. Nonetheless, actually the invite referred to Meizu GoPro, an action camera, but it does not mean a new Meizu flagship smartphone will not come true.

According to Chinese media, Meizu Pro 5 can be the name for the coming phone, which is also said to be the start of a new Meizu phone lineup. In the future, we may have Meizu Pro 5 Plus, Meizu Pro 6, etc. Though, few Meizu Pro 5 specs are claimed. What we heard is that a Full HD screen of about 5.5 inches will be likely to be included.
Besides, Meizu Pro 5 launch will also happen on September 23, 2015 together with the GoPro camera; Meizu Pro 5 price will be around 3000 Yuan ($470 or RM2,026). With such a price, we guess that other Meizu Pro 5 specs have to be more high-end than Meizu MX5 specs.
Along with this piece of info, a picture of the Meizu Pro 5 package has been leaked, showing a dark black box with the phone name written on the top. It brings us a feeling that the handset should look pretty premium, not as colorful as previous Meizu machines.
Well, Meizu is really making us curious. What can the Meizu Pro 5 be?
Quick comparison: Apple iPhone 6S Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 5
Lately, Apple iPhone 6S Plus has been launched and become a direct rival to Samsung Galaxy Note 5 also released not long ago. They are produced by the giants of the mobile industry, so it is obvious that lots of people will want to see how different they are and which one is better. As a result, we would like to make a quick comparison between these two hot machines: Apple iPhone 6S Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
Before taking a closer look at them, we want to emphasize that Galaxy Note 5 is one of the newest Android smartphones by Samsung. Meanwhile, iPhone 6S Plus is the latest one by Apple, running on iOS and coming with many interesting as well as high-end specs. Then, which one will be able to win your heart? Let’s check out what their differences in terms of specs and design are!
DESIGN
It is said that Samsung has succeeded in making their flagships more fashionable this year. Specifically, we can see that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is really beautiful in its metal and glass dress. As for the Apple iPhone 6S Plus design, it seems very similar to iPhone 6 Plus design but with better material. The phone is made from Series 7000 aluminium, twice as strong as Series 6000 used in the Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
In general, we have a feeling that Note 5 is slimmer than iPhone 6S Plus thanks to its curved panel on the back though it has a bigger screen. Besides, their home buttons, which contain fingerprint sensors, are totally different in shape: round (iPhone 6S Plus) vs oval (Note 5). On the contrary, the phones’ rounded corners and the position of their speakers are alike.
So, in our opinion, they are both pretty in their own way and it has to be you who is the one to decide which phone matches your style 😉 !

Looking at the spec table, we can notice many differences between Note 5 and iPhone 6S Plus specs. Firstly, it is about the display. Android phones in general have been able to reach super high display resolution. For example, Sony Xperia Z5 Premium sports an up to 4K screen, and 2K (aka Quad HD) ones are kind of very popular now. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is one of them! Besides, it has an S Pen stylus to give people the best experience with the Note.
How about iPhone 6S Plus? Despite being the newest, iPhone 6S Plus is just able to feature Full HD. Is it because Apple thinks that 1080p is enough for a device’s screen smaller than 6 inches? Anyhow, a lot of users admit that 2K is better than the lower for real, which means that Note 5 is somehow the winner at this point! Nonetheless, there is one thing about iPhone 6S Plus that can make you interested in. It is equipped with the new tech 3D Touch, which can detect the pressure applied to the screen to open up new commands.
Secondly, we want to talk about the chip and RAM. In fact, Apple’s chip does not have many cores but its performance is wonderful. And this time, Apple has increased the RAM capacity to 2GB, which will enable the handset to run more smoothly than the previous iPhones. Yet, that is hard to be compared to the powerful Samsung Galaxy Note 5 4GB RAM paired with the octa-core Exynos 740 processor.
CONCLUSION
It is too early to conclude which is the best and most worth owning at the moment when both phones have just hit the market not long ago. We still need time to receive feedback from the real users. If you are using them or about to do it, share with us your feelings and experience 🙂 !
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua: 2GB RAM, 13MP and waterproof for RM 900
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is such a flagship that is loved in so many international markets. The device was introduced earlier in MWC in Barcelona, Spain. After super long wait, finally, Sony Malaysia has launched the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua to our local market.
The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua official price in Malaysia is really attractive for such a popular flagship: Rm 919. Users can now find the device in some Sony stores and hopefully it will hit the shelves of some of our favorite online distributors soon.
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua: good deal for a great price
When we first got to know about the M4 Aqua and all it had to offer, we expected it will be cheaper than the HTC One Mini 2 but more expensive than the popular Huawei Honor 6. Now Sony officially announced the M4 Aqua price in Malaysia, with only RM 919, it turned out to be cheaper than both. The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua even has similar specs to the more expensive Samsung Galaxy A5.
In terms of Sony Xperia M4 Aqua specs, it is pretty powerful. It is backed by a 64 bit, octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB of RAM. As we collected reviews from users around the world who had experienced the handset, Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, unlike the Xperia Z3 and Z4, has not been reported with severe overheating problems. Users say it will become warm/slightly hot sometimes, but if you pour some water on the back, it will become good again. Also, Sony promised to provide solutions soon.
Sony Xperia M4 Aqua: What we love about the babe
Sony featured really nice design for this M4 Aqua also. The smartphone comes with a super slim body that looks elegant and premium in your hands. The most interesting thing about this beast is that it looks like a high-end smartphone and carries a mid-end price tag.
Talking about Sony Xperia M4 Aqua cameras, it is another babe from Sony which has really good sensors that work well even under low light conditions. The only thing to notice is that, similar to other Sony Xperia smartphones, it takes several seconds to start and get focus for the subject. But once you capture, the pictures will always look great whether it is a selfie or a landscape.

HTC AERO: 2K 5.5″, 4GB RAM and DECA-CORE Confirmed!
HTC will have a Launch Event on September to introduce two new HTC phones, including one new Flagship the HTC AERO or HTC One A9. Now we have very promising infos about HTC AERO specs, from a Geekbench Leak.
It looks like the definite highlight of the HTC One A9 is a brand new Deca-Core Helio X20 CPU. In the Geekbench Test the Helio X20 MT679 beats all other chips available at the moment. It scores an impressive 1835 points in single core test, which is nearly as much as the dual core performance of the Nvidia Tegra K1.
Thanks to 10 powerful cores, in the multicore test, the chip beats all other competitors with 5884 points, including Samsung’s flagship Exynos 7420. Overall the MT679 is definitely very powerful with dual A72 cores and octa A53 chips. Moreover the Helio X20 comes with a new T8xx series GPU, which should be way better then the current PowerVR G6200.
HTC AERO SPECS
The HTC AERO will further boast 4GB RAM, and a QHD resolution. We really hope that HTC will improve the HTC One A9 camera, to compete with the new Xperia Z5 and Samsung phones. So far its supposed to come with large aperture f/1,9 and sensor capable of taking pics in RAW format.
With all the recent competition, with the Xperia Z5 series, especially, the HTC Aero better be good. While Sony really shows some innovation with the world’s first 4K display on a smartphone, my personal feeling is that HTC has been missing innovation and paid the price.
Going with Mediatek chips, instead of the Snapdragon 808 is a risky step. Clearly Mediatek chips are improving and are very powerful. The problem though is that many users, especially those that are willing to pay Flagship prices, have an image of Mediatek that is inferior to Samsung’s Exynos and Snapdragon Chips (Admittedly less so after the Snadrapgon Overheat Drama).
HTC ONE A9 Price and Release Date
Anyways lets hope for a great phone with the HTC Aero, or HTC One A9. The HTC Aero Release Date will be 29.9 this month with Deca-Core CPU and 4GB RAM. We really hope for a fair pricing with the Mediatek CPU, but lets wait for further infos.

Redmi Note 2 and Xperia Z5 Ultra: first 30 smartphones to update Snapdragon 820
Leaksfly, very famous account on Weibo.com – a popular Chinese forum just leaked a piece of news about Qualcomm’s newest chipset Snapdragon 820. In this leaks, he mentioned the first devices that will feature the chipset. Among those, we can see Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi Note 2 as the recently launched devices.
“Qualcomm S820 starting lineup – (foreign) 1: LG G5 2: Sony Z5 Ultra (domestic) 1: Xiaomi Mi Note 2 2: 2 Pro music as super phone and music as super phone 2 Max expect that you compare a cell phone.”
2015 has been tough on Qualcomm, when their Snapdragon 810 and 615 continuously got many negative feed backs about heating problems. The competition has been harder for them also with the rise of Helio X10 chip set and Exynos 7420.
However, the promising upcoming chip with the name Snapdragon 820 can really be the hero and save the day. According to a Chinese report, the future looks much brighter for Qualcomm with this Snapdragon 820. Up to now, September 2015, there are already more than 30 smartphones lined up to get updates. The number alone proved that the chip set is well developed enough to gain the trust from those smartphone companies not only in China but around the world.
Gizmochina several days earlier also published an article claiming that Xiaomi is working to be the first Chinese smartphone to use Snapdragon 820. As there will be a lot of smartphones (more than 30 of nothing changes) that go with this latest chip set, being the first one to feature, even in China only, can be a very huge advantage for Xiaomi in terms of sales.
On international market, together with the release of the Xperia Z5 series, Sony hinted another device named Xperia Z5 Ultra that will come with Snapdragon 820 SoC. So it is very much likely that beside Xiaomi, Sony are competing to be the first outside China to feature the new SoC on their smartphone.

If the Snapdragon 820 turns out as good as they say for now (check here for full details), then we will be happily waiting for 2016 to come and test the new SoC.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Compact will not Launch
We have bad news for all Sony Xperia Z5 Fans, that were waiting for a Premium Compact Version with 4GB RAM. The news of the a Sony Xperia Z5 Premium was fake.
A few days ago, based on a single source chinese Blog, there has been the news that Sony is planning a Xperia Z5 Compact Version. The Compact Version was supposed to be a Premium Compact “Miku Edition”. Since then Sony fans have been wildly discussing the potential 4GB RAM Compact Premium Version. Understandably a cheaper Premium Version with more RAM, then all current Sony Z5 versions sounds amazing, doesnt it ?
Hatsune Miku is a virtual Singer, who is extremely popular in Japan, even more so then real stars in other countries. The alleged poster showed the Xperia Z5 Compact with 4GB RAM, 2900 mah and FULL HD display, instead of 4K resolution of the bigger brother.
At this point some of you might have been skeptical already. 4GB RAM would mean that the Z5 Premium Compact is the only Z5 Phone, launched this year, with more RAM. The date of 3.10 should create Hope for a very soon Launch Date of the Z5 Premium Compact in Japan. So far we dont have a certain Launch Date for the other Z5 Flagships. Most likely October or November 2015.
The main reason why the news was so believable, is that Sony already followed this “Japan Exclusive” strategy before. The Xperia Z4 and Z4 tablet are only available in Japan. Also the fake Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Compact, looks very much alike to a real cooperation between Sony and Docomo for a Miku Phone. In 2013 Sony and Docomo, launched a Sony Xperia A Miku Edition. The edition was limited to 39k phones and was an exclusive to Japan.
Very likely we can say now that the good news of Xperia Z5 Premium Compact will stay a rumor
- 1. Crypton Future Media, who own the rights to Hatsune Mika, demented the news on a Miku-Fanblog on a recent event of the star.
- 2. As well Sony International told us that all Sony phones for this year, have been introduced on the IFA 2015.
- 3. If this is not enough proof for you, there is no news or information about this phone on the DoCoMo Shop website in Japan. This is quite unusual since DoCoMo was supposed to be Exclusive Distribution partner for the Z5 Premium Compact.
There still might be good news for Sony fans ahead though. There is more and more information for a Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra Version that is supposed to launch in Q1/2015. The Xperia Z5 Ultra, is supposed to come with 6.4″ 4K Screen, Snapdragon 820 and 4GB RAM. If the Xperia Z5 Ultra launches, most likely would be the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
And if we can make a wish, Sony please use Samsung’s newest memory chips and give 6GB RAM to the Ultra. That would make me pretty happy.
iPhone 6s Plus now official with powerful A9 chip & 12MP camera
Apple has just announced their new products: iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The former comes with a 4.7” screen, while the latter comes with a huge 5.5” one. However, apart from display size, iPhone 6s Plus camera is another feature we want to talk more on. And guess what? It really comes with a 12MP sensor like earlier news and leaks have indicated!

iPhone 6s Plus display is a 5.5” screen with Full HD resolution and a 3D Touch technology, which means you can open apps and stuffs by pressing on the screen. It calculates how much pressure you put on it, then open the apps assigned to the level of the pressure.
Moreover, iPhone 6s Plus design sport a A7000 aluminium frame around the body. The device gets Rose Gold for its color option also.

For hardware, iPhone 6s Plus specs underwent a major change as well. For example, an A9 chip, which is a new one, powers up the phone. Apple states that the new A9 chip will give the device more processing and performance power. Let us see how the iPhone 6s Plus fare among other flagships when we get our hands on one.

The most significant change on this iPhone is its camera. iPhone 6s Plus camera is a huge 12MP, like we previously said. Moreover, it also has optical image optimization to enhance your photo shooting experience. Shooting in low-light environment produces high quality photos as well.
iPhone 6s plus release date and pricing details
According to the photo above, iPhone 6s Plus costs $299 for the 16GB version. This equals to iPhone 6s Plus price in Malaysia as RM 1,300 or slightly higher after VAT and tax. The phone will go on sale on September 25, so it will probably reach the Malaysia around October or November.

6GB RAM smartphones coming thanks to Samsung
We have very good news for all fans of High RAM Powered Phones. Samsung started mass production of their new LPDDR4 DRAM, allowing for next Generation of Smartphones to have 6GB RAM.
Samsung essentially produced the industry’s first 12Gigabit LPDDR4 RAM with Samsung’s 20nm manufacturing process. The real advantage of those chips is that they have a 50% higher density PCB layout with increased capacity as well as reduced power usage. Both of these are very important factors in small devices like a phone/tablet where every mm2 and mW matters.
Pleae note that this is Gigabits, not Gigabytes. 12 Gigabits is around 1.5GB of RAM. Most high end smartphones have four memory dies, that means 1.5GB x 4 = 6GB RAM phones for us.
While some of you might say, what should we do with 6GB RAM, please think about this:
- 1) As we have newer ultra-high resolution, like Sony Xperia Z5 Premium with 4K Screen, way more RAM needs to be used by the GPU. 6GB RAM is not that unreasonable when a 4K screen has to support 8MP. Compare this to 1MP of most cheaper laptops today.
- 2) The best part of these new 12Gb LPDDR4 Samsung chips is increased speed. The new chips are 30% faster, which means more bandwith for detailed graphics and general performance.
When will we get the first 6GB RAM phones in Malaysia?
Now most of you will likely ask, when do i get to buy the first Smartphone with 6GB RAM? The last time Samsung started mass producing new memory chips, it took about 6 month to be used in a new finished product for retail. This would make the Samsung Galaxy S7, a very likely candidate to be the first 6GB RAM phone. Since this would be in March 2016, it could of course also be that Asus pulls the next stunt, and will give 6GB RAM to their Asus Zenfone 3 smartphone for 2016. What do you think which smartphone will be first to get 6GB RAM?
Meizu’s next flagship will sport 4GB RAM & Samsung’s Exynos 7420 chipset?
According to Meizu’s CEO, Meizu’s next flagship will have a display resolution of 1080p Full HD. This goes against the current trend of equipping 2k or 4k screen on a flagship device. However, as Meizu CEO explains that user experience should be viewed as a whole, we get it that Meizu’s next phone will be a balance between power and performance. Meizu Niux may be the name of the new device.
Meizu Niux specs on Antutu benchmark
According to the Antutu benchmark photo above and some news, Meizu Niux display is a 5.5” screen, with the resolution of 1920 x 1080. Moreover, it may sport Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. Android Lollipop will be the operating system.
Meizu Niux specs also consist of 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, which means the phone will be as powerful as Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Additionally, it also sports Exynos 7420 as its processor, bringing it to the level of Samsung’s flagships.

Meizu Niux camera is also something great to look at. The specs showed that a 21MP camera sensor will be there. Meizu Niux will also sport a 5Mp front snapper. Not much if you are a selfie lover, but enough to capture one or two in a while.
There is no information on Meizu Niux battery, but we hope it will around aroung 4000mAh to 5000mAh.

Of course, there is no exact word on Meizu Niux release date or pricing info yet. However, considering how Meizu devices cost, we guess Meizu Niux price in Malaysia will be around RM 1500. Let us hope that this device will look stunning, and appealing with great power!
In the mean time, you can check out other previous information about Meizu Niux here, or take a look at Meizu M2 Note, a favorite from the same company.

However, some news circulating online have suggested that Sony will out another variant based on Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, called Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium. The name suggest it is a compact version of Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. Moreover, guess what? It comes with a huge 4GB RAM.

Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium boasts a huge 4GB RAM, much like its Z5 Premium brother. However, Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium battery is only 2900mAh. Still, it is 200mAh larger than that of Z5 Compact.
Sony Xperia Z5 family will likely have more members
Hopefully, Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium camera will be a 23MP sensor. This is almost the most notable feature on Sony Xperia Z5 variants. Moreover, its hybrid autofocus with the incredible speed of 0.03 seconds will totally win any camera battle.
We do not know Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium release date and pricing yet. However, by looking at how much the original Z5 costs, we guess Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium price in Malaysia will be around RM 2700. Not cheap, but relatively reasonable for a Sony flagship. Moreover, let us hope that the phone will not be an exclusive in Japan.
