XcodeGhost malware doing harm to 77 iOS apps, including WeChat
We don’t hear it that often about Apple involving in apps hacks, malwares or viruses. However, the last weekend has witnessed the worst time of security breach ever in Apple history. What happened to be exact? Some (or many) of Chinese apps on the App Store have been attacked by a dangerous program carrying the code “XcodeGhost” hidden in their software. The malicious software was found first on Baidu, said to be accidentally embedded by Chinese developers for their apps. Unfortunately, “the ghost” made its ways to the App Store and started to attack other fellow apps over there. The XcodeGhost is reported to be doing harm to hundreds of millions of Apple users everywhere.

So what does the code do to your iPhones? Once it reaches your system, the XcodeGhost will collect your information set in the device and automatically send them to the servers. The list of information that it get from iPhone users is as below:
Current time
Current infected app’s name
The app’s bundle identifier
Current device’s name and type
Current system’s language and country
Current device’s UUID (Universally unique identifier)
Network type
Are you wondering why this is so dangerous and what can the code do with those information? Well, to make it as simple as possible: those user information is the key to open any door to your privacy. With those details, the code can totally send out fake alerts and fool users into revealing further personal figures. iPhone users may be tricked to enter their passwords to make changes on app. One of the most obvious damage the XcodeGhost can do is when you are on WeChat, all the information it has access to can easily get swapped around.

However, developers of WeChat have intervened very in time. They already updated the affected version (6.2.5) into the newer one (6.2.6), which is totally safe from affection. We highly recommend that you immediately delete your installed WeChat and download the later version if you haven’t done so yet.
Of course you can research further on other apps to find out whether their developers have done the same solution. Before deleting any app, don’t forget to backup your contact list and important information
Up to now, we have reported 77 apps in total that got caught with the malicious code. Apple immediately removed them all. However, for those you have already installed in your device, you need to manually delete it from your device to be safe from the XcodeGhost.
Here are the current updated list of the 77 affected apps. Most of them are used inside China. But just take a look if you happen to have any of them also:

Meitu V4: selfie beast with 21MP front camera got certified
Yes, you are reading it correctly, and we don’t mistyped the name. It is Mei-tu, another Chinese smartphone producer apart from Meizu. Known as the makers of one of the most popular beauty apps among China, Meitu just introduced a selfie-centric device with an amazing 21MP selfie camera: Meitu V4 smartphone.
While the rest of the technology world is considering a 16MP rear camera is good for a smartphone, and a 21MP rear camera is premium, Meitu feature their upcoming flagship with dual 21MP sensor for the shooters on both sides of the device.
Being a Meitu the sensor will won’t be the only advanced camera feature and we should also expect high end optics plus leading software for adding make-up and softening skin tones.

Knowing the Meitu has experience in producing beauty apps, I bet you can already guess that 21MP resolution is not the only feature this Meitu V4 camera has to offer. We can totally expect the snapper comes with pioneering software that provides cool filters and beautifying skin tones with additional make-up effects and so on. Because those are what selfie lovers will and always get crazy about.
What is the best news? China’s TENAA has just certified the Meitu V4 selfie samrtphone. Being certified by TENAA confirmed the reliability of the smartphone and increase the possibility of it reaching the launch date in the near future. Meitu claimed that they will add in many of their best technology to give users the best selfie experience ever found in other devices: low-light condition support, wide-angles, and the list goes on.
Display-wise, the Meizu V4 screen will be 5-inch with 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution and 441 ppi density. Some other Meitu V4 specs we know for now include: 3GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage (very typical of Chinese-made smartphones). The device is powered by An octa-core 2GHz CPU and runs pre-installed Android 5.1. If nothing changes, the Meitu V4 design will look great too, measuring 8.95 mm thick and weighs a humble 145g with a very unique shape as spotted in the pictures. More excitingly, it seems the the Meitu V4 will support 4G LTE connectivity also.
For now, we don’t know any about the Meitu V4 availability, release date and pricing yet. However, by making it through TENAA, we can look forward to seeing the Meitu V4 selfie beast unveiled soon in the near future. Meitu V4 should be very competitive too in order to attract maximum potential customers as the company could.

Huawei develops a stylus-toting Galaxy Note 5 rival: 5GB RAM, 16MP camera, Exynos 7420
Just very recently, Huawei smartphone launched Mate S with multi-functional fingerprint sensor to beat iPhone 6S. Huawei called it “the incredible touch” or “force touch”, which is one of the main selling points of this Huawei Mate S flagship. Beside Huawei, Apple iPhones are known as the only smartphones to feature force touch.
Even though the Huawei Mate S has been long just for a short while, it seems that Huawei doesn’t have the intention to stop pursuing high-end flagship market. The company is even working on a new smartphone project. And we have already spotted some interesting information.
From our sources, Huawei is targeting at making a strong rival directly to Samsung-made Galaxy Note 5, even equipped with the same stylus pen Note 5 is using. From what we heard, it even seems like Huawei is cooperating with Wacom Stylus (producer for Galaxy Note 5’s pen) to order a tailor-made touch pen for their upcoming device.

If our logic goes right, Huawei aims at competing with and surpassing especially Galaxy Note 5 this time. If so, they need to power their new Huawei smartphone with as good or even better specs than Samsung. Moreover, these specs must be in the same category or produced by the same suppliers, to make it easier to compare and the game more intense. This explains that we can totally expect Huawei will give up their signature Kirin 950 processor on this new smartphone and may go with Exynos 7420.

Some outstanding Samsung Galaxy Note 5 specs we can predict to see in this new Huawei smartphone
– 4GB RAM
– Exynos 7420 chip set
– 5.7” with Super AMOLED display
– 16MP rear camear / 5MP front camera
– 3000 mAH (3,000 mAH is not impressive but real life test proved it can last up to 9 hours 11 minutes of performance)
So, if they are ambitious enough and want to win this game, the new Huawei smartphone specs need to come with a very premium combination: 4GB RAM (or 5GB RAM), Exynos 7420 or stronger, 16 – 21MP and over 4000 mAH.

THREE Smartphone Operating Systems trying to replace iOS and Android!
If Apple is able to equip their products with their own OS (which is iOS), most other phones come with Android OS. It is pretty hard to find some OSes like Ubuntu, Firefox OS or Sailfish on the “smartphone map” of the world.
According to IDC statistics, iOS and Android devices are accounting for 96.3% in worldwide smartphone market. iOS gets 14.8% and the left part is for Android (81.5%). Of course there are also other OSes appearing recently like Ubuntu, Jolla Sailfish, Firefox, etc. with a desire to compete with iOS and Android. However, it seems like they cannot do it now and even pretty hard to do so in the future. Anyway, in today post, we would like to introduce briefly about them and perhaps you may find some of them more interesting than iOS and Android.
1. Ubuntu
“Ubuntu is an open source software platform that runs everywhere from the smartphone, the tablet and the PC to the server and the cloud.” Moreover, it has been considered as a good option to replace Windows or Mac OS on PC and laptop. In the recent years, Canonical (company that produces Ubuntu) has been developing it strongly. As a result, it is able to be seen more on tablets and smartphones now.
Ubuntu is known for providing users with “scopes” (aka home screens) containing data on the phone and online data. However, some disadvantages such as limited app source have made Ubunutu not very popular in the mobile industry.
2. Jolla Sailfish
After being sold to Microsoft, Nokia has stopped developing Meego – an OS based on Linux for smartphones. Some staff of Nokia decided to leave and founded a new firm called Jolla, continuing their unfinished job. Therefore, Sailfish was born.
Sailfish 2.0 OS was introduce last July and it is said to be compatible with both smartphones and tablets. The company also claims that Sailfish 2.0 OS will bring great experience since they can use as well as control many apps at the same time by small multitasking screens.
Nonetheless, one thing making Sailfish still quiet is that it does not support Google Play and the users have to install it directly through APK, which is more complicated and time-consuming.
3. Firefox
Firefox is an OS also based on Linux, applying to smartphones, tablets and smartTVs. Being developed by Mozilla – a company famous for Mozilla Firefox browser, it should have become more popular, but the fact is different. Though this OS can be run on any basis and updated right on the machine.
According to many news sources, Mozilla is having a plan of providing Firefox smartphones with affordable prices (under $25) in Asisa and Africa. Hopefully they can achieve the goal.
Well, do you think that they have any chance to replace iOS and Android?
Bluboo Xfire shows what you can do with just RM250!
$60 (RM250) is not a small amount of money but also not a huge one when it comes to buying a new smartphone, right?! However, with just $60 or RM250, you now can purchase an Android smartphone with a pretty good package of specs (compared to its price) for yourself. Then, what is it?
The one we mentioned is Bluboo Xfire, which features a 5-inch IPS LCD screen, a 64-bit 1GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor and a 2,750mAh battery. With that batt capacity, users can easily reach a day of heavy usage or two days with the normal one. That is pretty good for a device priced under RM300. Don’t you think?
Other Bluboo Xfire specs include a dual SIM and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. As for the design, Xfire looks quite cool with its colorful back covers and you have 4 options to choose: black, white, and blue. To be honest, this somehow reminds us of Xiaomi and Meizu handsets.
Besides, the Bluboo Xfire has dual mics built in the machine. One is for improving call quality and the other is for reducing noise, which also makes Bluboo Xfire the first phone in the entry-level range to sport such a great feature.
As for the camera, there is an up to 5 mega-pixel front shooter that is usually seen in many high-end “selfie” smartphones. Bluboo Xfire is promising to satisfy many selfie lovers. Moreover, this phone also allows you to wake the phone screen, play music or start the cam in the way that you like.
All of this can be yours without costing you much money, specifically with just $60 (RM250 as Bluboo Xfire price in Malaysia). Hopefully, it Bluboo Xfire Malaysia will come here soon. For more information about Bluboo Xfire, vist www.bluboo.com.cn or a Bluboo online retailer.
Now, can you tell me your opinions about this guy?

Furthermore, this Chinese manufacturer is applying a promotion. The first 100 of the pre-ordering will be able to receive up to RM600 (equivalent to $140) of freebies. On the other hand, you can pre-order Lenovo Phab Plus by depositing RM100 ($23) with the firm.
In general, we can see that when creating the Lenovo Phab Plus, the company seemed to focus much on the display, so that the phone is able to sport a generous 6.8-inch IPS Full HD screen. That is likely to be a good choice for users who want to comfortably watch movies, view photos, take notes, etc. on their own phone. However, we also notice that with such a big size, using it cannot be very comfortable, even including putting it in our side pocket. Do you agree?

LG Class leak: 5″ screen and Snapdragon 615 to launch on Sep 21
LG Class is an upcoming product by LG company. That is quite a new name for an LG handset, and perhaps will even open a new series in the future. Check out what it has to amaze us!
Some live photos of this handset have been spread on the internet, giving us some hints as well as general ideas of how LG Class looks like. Specifically, it is made with metal material which brings premium feeling. According to some sources of news, the phone will be officially introduced in an even happening on 21 September, 2015 of LG.
LG Class leak: 5-inch screen instead of 5.7-inch one
Apart from the alloy cover, LG Class still seems to keep the typical design of LG. Physical buttons are placed on the back along with camera, creating a convex area. Moreover, the leaked images and the teaser LG released not long ago are alike.
In terms of LG Class specs, we anticipate that the screen size measures 5 inches, not 5.7 inches as listed on GFXBench before. In addition, the benchmark database also informs of some features of LG Class such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.5GHz chip, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage and a combo of 12 mega-pixel rear camera and 5 mega-pixel front one. Yet, we are afraid that there can be some changes when the phone come out since we see that the screen size is different already.
Besides that LG Class, it is likely that LG is preparing a launch for a new high-end smartphone. It will sport most LG G4 specs plus a small screen on the upper part of the phone. There has been no word made for its function, but we hope that the coming LG device will be able to surprise and satisfy consumers in general and LG fans in particular.
Let’s wait and see! How much do you think LG Class price in Malaysia will be?

Lenovo Lemon X to mark the cooperation of Lenovo and Motorola
In a recent report, it is said that Lenovo and Motorola is going to release a new smartphone after quite a long time of cooperation. Though Lenovo has bought the Motorola, they actually work on their own. As a result, many people feel excited over the phone this time. Check out what it is and if it has whatever it takes to become a strong competitor on the market!
As we know, Motorola takes care of their own smartphone business and Lenovo manufacturer does, too. Nonetheless, a new Lenovo phone called Lenovo Lemon X designed by Motorola company, has been leaked on the internet.
From what we observe, the machine has rounded corners and the rear camera is placed in a way that reminds us of Motorola’s style. Yet, there is still something different. Even though the handset is said to represent both companies, only Lenovo logo instead of Motorola is put on the back cover.
In addition, we see the logo of Dolby sound technology on the rear. This tech is usually used in cinemas to get everyone “audio that flows above and around you.” It is like you are having a small theater in your hand to watch and listen to everything with high quality anywhere and any time. So, we are quite sure that Lemon X will have such an excellent feature, which reminds us of Lenovo A7000 launched in March, 2015.
Apart from the above information, we have no idea about the Lenovo Lemon X launch date as well as its price and availability.
Lenovo A7000 is well-known for being equipped with the Dolby Atmos tech.
Well, we know not much about this new comer to decide whether it is strong in terms of specs and worth considering. Hopefully, more details of Lenovo Lemon X specs will be unveiled in the next weeks. So, stay tuned 🙂 ! And we will update Lenovo Lemon X price in Malaysia as soon as possible.
