Sony Xperia Z6 family: upcoming flagships with Snapdragon 820

Earlier rumors have been suggesting that, as Xperia Z5 family is performing great this year, Sony is already planning the next generation to be presented soon: the Sony Xperia Z6 series. The source entailed that 4 variants will be: an Xperia Z6, Xperia Z6 Compact, Xperia Z6 Plus and Xperia Z6 Ultra. Despite previous lists revealing about an alleged version of Xperia Z6 Mini with 4-inch display, later updates already refused its possibility.

Although it is still early for Sony to unveil any further about their upcoming smartphones: the Xperia Z6 family specs, we have spotted some interesting pieces of new. According to that, 2 out of the 4 models mentioned above will be targeted in the higher end category and powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC. This latest chip set by Qualcomm is one of the most awaited and expected to become hot trend in the smartphone industry next year, together with Samsung’s Exynos 8890 and Huawei’s Kirin 950 SoCs.

Sony Xperia Z6 releases are said to happen in June and October 2016. Talking about Xperia Z6 design, seems like all four of them will have a lot of metal and glass on their body, to bring a fresh look and a sense of premium on your hand. Moreover, together with the high-end chip set, we expect other Xperia Z6 specs to be the best of their kind to. With Xperia Z5 camera already feature 23MP, should we expect a 27MP or even bigger of the new beast?

Sony Xperia Z6: making their way through 2016

Though not finalized by Sony yet, this piece of rumor coincides with a recent T-Mobile release roadmap, making it reliable enough for us to start expecting. Hopefully we will know more about the Xperia Z6 family, especially their 2 Snapdragon 820 flagship soon at Sony’s CES press conference, set to be held on January 5th.

Recently, a Chinese Weibo user has posted some leaked screenshots from a Lenovo group meeting online. The special thing is that there was a screenshot showing a list of Lenovo devices to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS update and it immediately attracted a lot of people, especially those who are using a Lenovo handset. So, check it out now to see what the devices are and perhaps your machine is one of them!

Looking at the picture, we notice that the earliest phones to run on Android 6.0 OS are Lenovo K3 Note (which is one of the most popular items of the company), Lenovo Vibe X3 and Lenovo Vibe P1 (which are two of the latest ones). In addition, we are informed that they will be updated in March, 2016. Then, in April, 2016, we will have different variants of the Lenovo K3 Note and the international version of Lenovo A7000.

After that, in May, 2016, the international versions of Lenovo Vibe X3 and Vibe P1 will be the next members. In June, we have the international Lenovo Vibe S1 to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, followed by the international Lenovo Vibe X3 as well as Lenovo A7000 Plus in the next month.

Anyhow, please keep in mind that the leak was found on a Weibo post without any official confirmation from Lenovo. As a result, we’d better take the list with a pinch of salt and hope the manufacturer will announce the most correct list with even more smartphones in the near future. Let’s wait and see!

According to fonearena.com, Huawei held an event on December 12, 2015 and introduced an upgraded version of Huawei Honor 7. Specifically, the Honor 7 Enhanced Edition is equipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, Huawei EMUI 4.0 skin on top, more internal storage (32GB instead of 16GB on the original Honor 7), a smart key as a shortcut to various functions, and a voice-activated virtual assistant produced by Baidu and Huawei.

Wow, those are fantastic features for a smartphone. Apart from them, other Huawei Honor 7 Enhanced Edition specs are remained such as a 5.2-inch Full HD screen, a Kirin 935 octa-core 2.2GHz chipset paired with Mali-T628 GPU, 3GB of RAM, a fingerprint scanner, a microSD card slot to expand the ROM up to 128GB, and a 3,100mAh battery to power the whole machine.

As for the camera, the main one is capable of 20 megapixels with Sony IMX230 sensor, f/2.0 and a dual LED flash. In addition, the front-facing shooter comes with 8 megapixels plus f/2.0, BSI sensor and LED flash to assist you in taking beautiful selfies.

It goes on sale with a gold color option and a price tag of $309 in China now. In our opinion, this is a reasonable price for what the new Honor 7 can offer us. Besides, the original Huawei Honor 7 price has been reduced by $31 to cost just $278. Well, what do you think?

Microsoft can save their sale by releasing Lumia 850 as it is so beautiful, even more than the flagship duo Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950XL announced in October, 2015. 

Lumia 850 – Slimmer and prettier than the flagship Lumia 950

If we compare the designs of Lumia 850 and Lumia 950, we have to say that the younger brother is prettier. Thanks to a gold metal frame (aka MOZO) and a slim body, the Lumia 850 looks absolutely premium and impressive. Lately, many pictures of this phone have been spread on the internet, which helps strengthen our claim a lot. As you can see, there are 2 basic color options Black and White, but they can attract viewers at very first sight.

From the beginning, it was the Twitter account @evleaks that revealed some leaked pics of Lumia 850 and then more of them came from the site Windows Phone. However, it is until now that things get much clearer about the Lumia 850 design through the photos posted on nokiapoweruser.com. Unfortunately, some people have assumed that it is Lumia 750XL with a big 5.7-inch screen. So, maybe we have to wait for Microsoft to confirm everything.

In terms of Lumia 850 specs, Lumia 850 coded as Honjo will probably pack a 5.7-inch Full HD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, which makes it as HTC One A9. Apart from them, there has been no word made for other specifications. We will update in the next posts.
