This phone maker probably targets the low market segment instead of putting efforts on creating incredible flagships like other manufacturers. Doogee is the first smartphone manufacturer to reveal its plan to launch a new flagship with the Helio X30 processor. It’s been a couple of months since Mediatek announced the Helio X30. But like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, no phone to feature any of these two chipset has actually been available for purchase. Doogee decided to be the first and bragged about their new flagship as “The first worldwide MTK X30 Processor Doogee Smartphone Co-Engineered with MTK”. So, let’s take a closer look and see what this new monster can offer to the Android race.

In terms of Doogee’s new 8GB RAM flagship specs, it will feature a 5.7″ 2K display screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone will come with MTK Helio X30 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM. The company is also going all out with the cameras. The front panel will house 2 x 16MP cameras while the back will have a 21MP snapper. There is also a front-facing fingerprint scanner on the phone. If Doogee can actually deliver a device with such specs and high quality, then they may have a chance of becoming the next Xiaomi.

The flagship will be powered by 4050mAh battery and we expect it will come with fast charging technology. The device will run on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. ZTE just unveiled their new smartphone, the Nubia N1 Lite. The device targets mid-range market and will be available shortly after MWC 2017.

Nubia N1 Lite: A mid-range device from ZTE

Nubia N1 Lite was announced today at MWC 2017. ZTE did not share all the specs with the audience but we manage to get enough information about this device. In terms of Nubia N1 Lite specs, it features a 5.5″ HD IPS LCD display screen, along with a quad-core processor under the hood. The specific details about which processor used is not available. The phone will come with 2GB RAM and 16GB of on-board storage, which can be expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot.

As for ZTE Nubia N1 Lite, the phone is mounted with 8MP camera on the back, while the front camera is 5MP. There is also limited information about the cameras. But we know that the back camera comes with autofocus feature and dual-LED flash, capable of recording 1080p@30fps videos. There’s also a LED flash on the front panel too.

Other features include a non-removable battery of 3000mAh capacity (without fast battery charging technology). The phone has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the rear, and ZTE claims that it can unlock this smartphone in 0.3 seconds. Sadly, it comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow without any plan for future update. Nubia N1 Lite will support 4G and sold in Black color.

Nubia N1 Lite: Price and Availability

The company has confirmed that this is a global launch of the device. According to ZTE, the Nubia N1 Lite will be released at the end of March in the following countries: Czech Republic, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Spain, Thailand and Vietnam. However, there’s a possibility this phone will be available in other countries in Q2 or Q3 this year. That is all the info that ZTE released when it comes to this smartphone, but more should be coming next few weeks. Alcatel brings three new budget devices to MWC this year. So let’s take a look at two of them, the Alcatel A3 and U5 to see what they have to offer.

Alcatel A3 and Alcatel U5: New budget phones

Alcatel introduced three budget devices today, the Alcatel A3, Alcatel U5 and Alcatel A5 LED. Out of the three, Alcatel A5 has the highest specs and slightly higher price too. The other two have lower specs and target entry-level market. So let’s take a closer look at their specs. In terms of Alcatel A3 specs, it features a 5″ HD display screen, a Mediatek MT6737 1.25GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM ad 16GB ROM. The phone is mounted with a 13MP f/2.0 camera on the back with autofocus feature and LED flash, capable of taking 1080p@30fps video. The front camera is 5MP and also comes with LED flash. Alcatel A3 comes with a 2460mAh battery.

The Alcatel U5 is the most affordable smartphone that Alcatel bring to MWC 2017. As for Alcatel U5 specs, it features a 5″ 480 x 854 pixels resolution display screen. The phone is powered by a Mediatek MT6737M 1.1GHz quad-core, along with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. In term of Alcatel U5 cameras, the phone is equipped with a 5MP shooter on the back and a 2MP snapper on the front. Both come with LED flash and can record 720p@30fps videos. Alcatel U5 comes with a 2050mAh battery.

Both phones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and have 4G LTE connection. Both will also available in 2 variants: single SIM and dual SIM. The major difference is that Alcatel A3 has a fingerprint scanner on the rear while the U3 has none.

While Alcatel hasn’t announced the price for these two devices yet, we suspect both will be under $150 ~ RM. 10000. Judging by the specs, these models will likely target emerging markets like South East Asia, India and China.

Samsung has definitely bring a lot of new stuff to the new Galaxy A5. First of all, the display department has been significantly upgraded. The Galaxy A5 2017 sports a 5.2″ AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels (Full HD). It displays colors very well, and there are color customization options (Settings > Display > Screen Mode). Design wise, this one is a real looker: there is a curved glass back, the frame is metal, Alway-on display (beware for battery drain!), and it also has one feature of high-end flagships: waterproof with IP68 certification!

As for performance, this phone is no slouch either. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Exynos 7880 chipset, which is said to be 36% more power efficient over the old one. Combined with 3GB RAM, it is quite powerful for most users. However, putting it beside flagships like the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, iPhone, or Pixel, the difference will show when doing heavy tasks. There is also 32GB of internal storage, and can be expandable by up to 256GB via microSD card.

Other Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 specs are also quite impressive. The phone features 16MP lenses for both the main and selfie camera. Upon usage, it produces great daylight photos, and decent night photos. However, as for video recording, it lacks stabilization and 4K recording, which is a bummer for those looking forward to this feature. The camera app has been revamped, you can quickly access it by double tapping the home button. The app interface is so much cleaner now. Lastly, the phone runs on Android 6 Marshmallow. However, the custom UI Grace from Samsung has tried its best to emulate the new Nougat OS, and it sure looks good.

It’s getting hot! The South Korean electronics giant is going to launch its long awaited super flagship G6 on Sunday and shortly after i will go on sale, exactly on March 10. According to a report, we will be able to pre-order the upcoming LG G6 Phone from 2 to 9 March.

However, anyone who is interested in the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have to wait a little bit longer. The new report also reveals that Samsung would unveil its new high-end device smartphone on March 29 in New York and it will go on sale starting from April 21st. Sadly, there are no announcements about the availability of the preorder. Initially, Samsung wanted to launch its  S8 in its home country a week earlier than the global release date of April 21, but due to logistic problems it’s now decided against that.

Let’s review some specs to know more. LG G6 will come with a 5.7-inch 2K display, a Snapdragon 821 chipset and 6GB of RAM and a powerful battery with a capacity of 3200mAh. This handset will offer 64GB of internal storage which is able expanded via microSD. For photography, it is expected to sport a dual 16MP rear camera along with a 12MP front-facing shooter.
