In addition, it also features QuickCharge 4.0.

GFXBench recently has shown how powerful this new SoC is just with a Full HD offscreen test score. As what we expected, this new chipset surpassed all the other chipsets in the market, include Apple A10 Fusion and Huawei Kirin 960. Once again, this Snapdragon 835 chipset confirms its power on Antutu. A new prototype with SND 835 has just shown up on Antutu with 181434 scores. With this points, this phone defeated iPhone 7 Plus with 172644 scores.

On Antutu, this handset is powered by a 2.2Ghz octa-core SND 835 processor and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. It packs 4GB RAM paired with 64GB of inbuilt storage. For photography, this Snapdragon 835 phone is equipped with a 12MP selfie snapper and a 20MP main camera. Both cameras can record 4K videos. It has a 5.9-inch screen with the resolution of 1440 x 2560 px (Quad HD).

China Consumer Association recently raised a question to Apple again after the report of the 8th exploding iPhone. Apple has not replied but they have launched the “iPhone 6S unexpected shutdown plan”, in which iPhone 6S users will have their iPhone 6S battery replaced for free. However, a new issue comes up. Apple users keep complaining that although Apple promises to replace their battery, a number of Apple’s stores announce that the iPhone 6S battery for replacement is running out of stock.

According to one of Chinese users, she has come to Apple store for a few times but she was unsuccessful to replace her iPhone 6S battery. The main problem is, besides Apple’s official retail stores, Apple authorized service providers can also provide free replacement battery service, but when users get in touch with the service providers, the response is often “out of stock.” In other words, now, both Apple retail stores and authorized service providers have a very limited iPhone 6S battery quantity.

The China Consumers Association has also commented on Apple’s “iPhone 6s accident shutdown plan”. They think that Apple should firstly explain the terms to consumers. Besides, the battery stocking should also be prepared for not only the problematic iPhone but also for the normal consumers demand.

Apple are facing a real problem in Chinese market

For the last iPhone 6 battery issue, Apple explained that the iPhone 6 battery issue is because of manufacturing fault. Shanghai Consumer Council has received 8 complaints about iPhone’s explosion

According to CCTV news reports, a loyal user of Apple, Ms. Chen, bought an Apple 6 Plus phone in March 2015. Then, in August 31, 2016, the phone suddenly exploded. She recalled that when she and her husband were in the car to prepare for travel, this phone was on her legs. The customer said the phone was thumped out of the bang, but fortunately, the phone was kicked out of the car in time, the explosion did not cause harm to people and property.

Coincidentally, Ms. Liu, another Apple customer, who has bought a new Apple iPhone 6 Plus recently. Her iPhone’s explosion occurred in a normal charge. More specifically, Ms Liu claimed that she used the Apple original charger, while normally charged, the phone shell spontaneously cracked and burned. December Antutu list: Mi Note 2 show up

The best performance smartphones for this November are finally unveiled. As usual, Antutu posts on their website the list of the strongest device for each month. We have a chance to look at the November Antutu list. Compared to the list last month, there are a few changes. This is easy to understand because there were many new flagships showed up last year. So, let’s have a look at the list to see what are the differences.

The first two positions remain unchanged. Standing in the first spot is iPhone 7 Plus with A10 Fusion chipset. Right after that is iPhone 7. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th place belong to LeEco Le Pro 3, Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, and Smartisan M1L respectively. As you can see that the first 5 places are exactly the same to the October Antutu list. The rest of list have some changes.

Standing in the 6th spot is Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Right behind this phone is the flagship from Huawei – Mate 9. Mate 9 with Kirin 960 chipset gets the spot in this list. This proved that the new Huawei Soc is as strong as SND 820, even SND 821 chipset. The last 3 positions go to Xiao Mi 5s, OnePlus 3, and Vivo Xplay 5 Elite. For somehow, we didn’t see Xiaomi Mi Mix or Huawei Mate 9 Porsche even though these handsets showed up at the same time with Mi Note 2 and Mate 9. Hopefully, they will appear on the Antutu list December.

Antutu list: SND 821 smartphones dominate

As you can see that SND 821 smartphones dominate the whole list. 6 positions of the list are taken by SND 821 devices. However, none of these SND 821 devices can surpass iPhone 7 and 7 Plus from Apple. These two devices are still the strongest handsets with A10 Fusion chipset. Maybe next year, an SND 835 device can beat this phone to take the throne. So, just stay tuned, we will keep updating.

Recent reports have suggested that patents for the foldable iPhone was filed since 2014. Samsung is the company with a higher privilege to register for such designs.

Design and Features

It is believed that Tim Cook is also interested in such an innovation for the company Apple. The CEO will love to see a foldable iPhone with a flexible OLED screen. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the patent no. 9,504,170 for “flexible display devices”, which details a design for a hinged iPhone that can fold in two when not in use. The device would rely on flexible components such as an OLED display, metal support tools made of a nickel and titanium alloy called nitinol.

Apple also discussed the flexible polymers as a possible alternative to the nitinol design, with some versions of the phone coming with a chassis split into upper and lower sections. These sections will be the place where the phone hardware is attached via a single or multi-shaft hinge mechanism. This will allow the rotation so that the divided parts separately can move relative to one another. There will be a flexible printed circuit boards to allow the phone to be foldable, while the display is overlaid across the two portions of the handset.

Of course, companies quickly file patents in order to protect their designs, and that’s why Apple secured the patent for its foldable iPhone. But a patent doesn’t mean that the product is going to be made and make it to market. As we previously told you, Apple is expected to introduce a new iPhone with an OLED screen in 2017. Instead of being flexible, the display of this next OLED device will be an almost all-screen design.

Strategy Analytics has released a report about the profit of the smartphone market in Q3 2016. According to the report, the total return is $9 billion. To be specific, Apple dominates and accounted for 91% of the profit in the whole industry. Huawei, Vivo and Oppo followed as the next three firms, which earned most money from the market. However, they are all surpassed by Apple with a far distance. Huawei constitued 2.4%, Vivo and Oppo both constitued 2.2%.

The reason Apple could earn such a huge profit is because they maximized their selling prices as well as minimized production cost. They manufactured their smartphones in China, which can help them to save a huge amount of cost. In some recent reports, Apple is reported to make iPhones in the US according to the new elected president’s policy. So, it remained a big question towards the price of a future iPhone. There will soon be an iPhone labelled “made in USA”

According to a local source, the Apple’s main partner- Foxconn is studying the possibility of moving the iPhone assembly line to the US. A local newspaper reported that Apple had allegedly spoken with Foxconn and Pegatron, the two contract manufacturers it uses to build its smartphones and tablets. Foxconn agreed to help Apple figure out the way, while Pegatron declined due to the cost issues.

Besides, another source revealed that Foxconn agreed to comply with Apple’s plans, but they are not really satisfied because of the increase of production cost. However, because Apple is the largest customer, who accounts for 50% of their revenue, so Foxconn is very difficult to refuse.

The main reason behind this relocation is because of the pressure from the new elected president Donald Trump. Mr. Trump once loudly urged US companies to manufacture products at home and threatened to impose higher import goods from China. In an election campaign took place in March, he declared that he would ask Apple to build their iPhones in the US, not in China any more.

The exborbitant iPhones

There are many reasons that make the relocation impossible. The first is the production cost. Building an iPhone in the US will surely double the cost. Moreover, most of Apple’s components are manufactured in Asia, so it will take a lot of time and money to transfer them to USA through Pacific. According to a research firm Markit IHS, Apple must spend $225 for an iPhone 7 with 32 GB of storage. However, non-subsidized price of the iPhone on the market amounted to 649 USD. Apple is facing a problem that many people no longer believe that Apple brings good value for money. 20% of participants in a survey conducted by UBS said that the value Apple iPhone brings does not worth the money that the buyers must spend.
