6. Smartisan T3

This is a Chinese device packing a Snapdragon 820 or 821 chipset, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a 16MP Sony IMX298 rear-facing + 8MP front cam set, Smartisan OS 3.0 probably based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. At the moment, we still do not have a full sheet of Smartisan T3 specs, but it has been reported to debut on October 18, so let’s wait a bit more!

7. UMI Plus Extreme Edition

Not long ago, the company’s Facebook page announced that UMi Plus Extreme is now available in blue and black in addition to its current color options. Spec-wise, it comes with a Helio P20 chip, 6GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a 13MP primary shooter, a big 4,000mAh batt with fast charging tech, and Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. Though, no words have been made for UMI Plus Extreme Edition price. Hopefully it’s gonna cost around $300 or $350.

8. LeEco Le Max 2

Next is another LeEco Le Max 2. It’s not a new handset but you may feel interested when hearing that LeEco Le Max 2 price will be discounted from October 1 to October 6 on LeMall.com. 9. Vernee Apollo 2

Despite being a rookie in the world of smartphones, we think Vernee has somehow been kind of successful in attracting people thanks to introducing some interesting models like Vernee Apollo and Vernee Thor. And according to some recent reports, they are going to announce another phone called Vernee Apollo 2. It maybe will employ a Snapdragon 830 or a Helio X30 chip under the hood to run the entire handset. Additionally, Vernee Apollo 2 specs are also expected to have a QHD display, 6GB of RAM, a huge batt, and a fantastic shooter set.

Finally, it’s OnePlus 3 that we would like to talk about. However, a recent research points out that iPhone 7 Plus uses its second camera lens less often than you think. Let’s find the reasons behind it!

iPhone 7 Plus dual camera – the truth

For those who haven’t known, iPhone 7 Plus comes with two 12MP camera lens on the back. The first lens features a wide-angle, with 28mm in size and f/1.8 aperture. However, as an interesting research from Glenn Fleishman in Macworld, iPhone 7 dual camera uses its second lens (2x optical zoom) less than the first lens (10x digital zoom). That means the second lens with “2x optical zoom capibility” is often in the “rest status”. On the other hand, the first lens with “10x digital zoom” is commonly used in taking photos. One of the reasons comes from the f/1.8 aperture on the first lens.

To be more specific, the f/1.8 aperture on the first lens lets in more light than the f/2.8 aperture on the second lens. That helps the iPhone 7 produce high-quality photos even in low light conditions.  The f/1.8 lens is also assisted by OIS technology, which help avoid blurry photos.

As the result, the iPhone 7 Plus uses its “2x optical zoom lens” less often than the “10x degital lens”. Antutu has just shown the new update of the top phones in terms of performance According to this list, OnePlus 3 is not the King anymore. This position now goes to the latest Apple phone – iPhone 7 Plus.

Antutu list: OnePlus 3 fall behind at 6th place

Each month, there will be an Antutu list for top performance smartphones. The top phones on this list are the devices having the strongest processor based on Antutu benchmark. In September, the smartphone market welcomed many great phones like iPhone 7, Galaxy A8, or Xiaomi Mi 5s. These handsets contributed to change the orders of top Antutu phone chart where OnePlus 3 (with 140,288 points) had held the first place for more than 7 months.

The top place no longer belongs to the latest OnePlus 3 flagship. iPhone 7 Plus has taken this crown with the score of 172,644. Standing right behind 7 Plus is iPhone 7 with 170,124 scores. The first Chinese SND 821 phone – LeEco Pro 3 – gets the third position with 160,856 points. The 4th and 5th place go to Xiaomi Mi 5s and 5s Plus. Don’t be surprised! This is just because the Mi 5s siblings use the under-clocked SND 821 SoC. The ex-King OnePlus 3 falls back to the 6th place.  The other positions are Vivo XPlay 5 Elite (138,706), Note 7 (138,373), Le Max 2 (138,026), and Nubia Z11(127,685).

Top phones on Antutu list: iPhone 7 Plus wins it all

After being surpassed many times by Android phones, Apple phone is finally a King of Antutu. iPhone 7 Plus with A10 chipset and 3GB RAM had defeated many Android flagships with 6GB RAM and SND 821 (Le Pro 3, Mi 5s Plus). It seems that iPhone 7 Plus will hold this throne for a long time. So, congratulations to iPhone 7 Plus, once again, for being the strongest phone on Antutu.

In case you have missed, last week, an iPhone 7 Plus was reported to explode during delivery. While Apple haven’t made any statement about that, two more cases of iPhone explosion have appeared on the internet.

iPhone explosion: iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 7 Plus

The first new case of iPhone explosion is iPhone 6s Plus. This case is reported by Darin Hlavaty – a college student from Burlington County, NJ. According to Darin, his iPhone 6s Plus exploded while he was in the classroom. At first, he and his classmates noticed a weird sound from where Darin was sitting. Then a lot of smoke came out from his back pocket – where he put his iPhone. Long story short, right after that, they all realized it was from his iPhone that was literally on fire. (source)

Fortunately, Darin was able to take the phone out of his back pocket before it created any serious damage. The unlucky student shared that the phone was “super hot” when he was trying to get rid of it. He also added that he had to struggle to kick the phone “because it was on fire”. The only damage to be created by this iPhone explosion is… a hole in his back pocket.

However, that’s not the only case. Lately a photo of an iPhone 7 Plus has been posted to Chinese media, with a cracked case and exposed electronics. It has not been confirmed whether the phone was actually exploded, or there was any other accident. However, judging from the photo above, there must be a really strong internal force that could separate the display from the phone.

iPhone explosion: What is the cause?

Official words about the second case of iPhone explosion are yet to be announced. But in the first case, the iPhone obviously did not explode while it was being charged, or even during excessive use. So we could infer that this is a whole different story from Samsung’s scandal. Both cases have been reported to Apple, but the brand has not made any public statement yet. However, 6ABC has shared that Apple will investigate these cases because “customers’ safety is of the utmost importance.”
