Vernee is still a young company and hasn’t made a name for themselves on the global market yet. This year, the company show up at MWC with two new battery beast, showing their experience in hardware manufacturing. These two beasts are Vernee Thor E and Thor Plus. Both phones have good quality-built, are budget-friendly and battery-centric. So, let’s take a look at the specs and see if these two devices can help Vernee enter the global market.

First, we’ll take a look at Vernee Thor E specs. The phone comes with a 5″ HD display, a MediaTek MT6737, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. It also packs an 8MP camera on the back. Quite the phone is not the best performer, it makes up with a huge battery of 5020mAh capacity. Other plus sides include Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and a thickness of 8.2mm. Consider the big battery, it’s quite surprising to see such a small device.

The second device from Vernee is the Thor Plus. This phone has better specs than the Thor E, but still not enough to consider it a flagship. Vernee Thor Plus specs boast a 5.5″ HD display, powered by a Mediatek MT6753, 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM. On the back is a 13Mp rear camera. Under the hood, you can find a massive 6050mAh battery. The most astonishing achievement is that it the phone’s only 7.9mm thick.

Thor E and Thor Plus: Conclusion and Release date

Overall, both phones really shine when it comes to battery, but falls short in other aspect. According to Vernee, both the Thor E and Thor Plus will be priced very agrressively. The company expect both to be available in the next two months.

The C series from Samsung was quite successful in China, so the company decided to release a Pro version of the line-up. Now, a black colored model of the Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro has even been spotted at Samsung Forum 2017 in China.

As mentioned above, the C series was very popular in China. Especially the Galaxy C5 – a midrange phone with great specs. It sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display. Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Octa-core processor. The phone runs Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) out of the box. In terms of memory and storage, the handset provides 4GB RAM paired with 32/64GB of internal storage that has microSD card for expanding up to 256GB. In addition, 16MP primary camera and an 8MP secondary shooter. Moreover, it is fueled by a 2600mAh battery.

Now, the Samsung family is growing: The Galaxy C5 Pro has been spotted in China at the Samsung Forum 2017! This upcoming device just got Wifi certification, appeared in benchmark listing and even on TENAA, the Chinese telecommunications regulatory authority. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy C5, the phone comes with a full-metal unibody design which looks very similar to the iPhone’s design.

In terms of specs, what we know so far, the new Samsung Galaxy C5 Pro comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with the resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels on the front. Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB. As for photography, the South Korean company added a 16Mp camera on the rear as well as on the front.

The phone is unusually long because of the fisheye lenses on top. It’s coated in pure gold and has four diamonds below the front fisheye camera.

The phone uses a 5.5″ FHD resolution display, a Helio X20 2.5GHz deca-core processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. In term of Protruly Darling cameras, it has four in total, which means two on each side.Beside the dual 13MP fisheye lenses on the back and front, there are also a 13MP main shooter and an 8MP front snapper. The 360-degree fisheye cameras are the most bizarre things on this phone. Just toggle the VR camera mode within the default camera app to take pictures or videos. The results look comparable to what you’d get from a budget 360-camera.

The phone runs on a customized version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It also has a headphone jack, USB-C port and fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button. However, there’s another model without gold/diamond jewels and has a fingerprint sensor on the back instead.

Protruly Darling: price and verdict

The Protruly Darling is indeed a strange phone. It’s like a Frankenstein device that no major smartphone maker like Apple or Samsung would ever try making. Despite all of that, we have to give credit to Shenzhen Darling Intelligence Technology, Co., LTD for trying. If you want to own this monster, prepare to pay $800 ~ RM. 3560 for the one with jewels or $500 ~ RM. 2225 for the other version.
