One Plus One VS Samsung Galaxy S5 in Malaysia
Last week One Plus launched its very first smartphone, One Plus One. The Device sports its very own CyanogenMod 11s and comes with top specifications. One Plus is positioning the One as a Flagship Killers, because of its High End Specifications and unbeatable price. We will compare its specs and features with Samsungs Top Smartphone in the Market, the S5 to see where the One Plus One really stands.

One Plus One Vs Samsung S5
Design
Both devices are made from plastic, but have some points that differentiate them. The One Plus One Smartphone has a very clean and minimalistic design, with almost no decorative features and a smooth plastic rear. The Samsung S5 on the other hand offers more of a premium finish, and a soft touch plastic back with textured design.
Both smartphones give a quality feeling and are well built, despite their manufacturing of plastic. Still both devices will probably have strong competiton against metal built handsets like the HTC ONE or HTC ONE M8 when it comes to the design.
Winner: Same
Display and Screen
Both smartphone come with 1080p displays, but the One Plus One offers a bigger screen with 5.5 inches. The Screen of the Galaxy S5 is “only” 5.1 inches and therefore signifantly smaller.
The Samsung S5 uses its characteristic Super AMOLED Display, which is already used in devices like the Galaxy Note 3. The Pixel Density is at 441ppi and it offers great colors and a beautiful display.
On the other hand the One uses a LTPS (Low Temperature Polysilicone) LCD display. The smartphone also sports TOL, Touch on Lens, that makes the screen more shatterproof by negating the distance between display and the touch sensors.
As mentioned both screens the ONE and the S5 come with the same resolution of 1080p. The One PLus One has a lower pixel density though with 401ppi vs the 441ppi of the S5, because of the wider surface with 5.5 inch. In every day use there will be no significant difference in usage for the normal user.
Winner: This one is a Tie again. Both smartphones have very solid and high quality displays. When it comes to screen in this case it really matters on the personal preference of the user. With 5.5 inch the One Plus One is the same category as the larger Galaxy Note 3 and more a phablet, then a smartphone.
Hardware and Specs
Both smartphones the One Plus One and the S5 come equipped with one of the best processors available for Android at the moment: the quad core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.5 GHZ and Adreno 330 GPU.
One remarkable extra point is that the One Plus One comes with an impressive 3GB of RAM, thats an full extra 1GB of RAM compared to the Galaxy S5 2GB of RAM. Like most of our readers will know, RAM is one of the most deciding factors when it comes to smooth performance and APP execution for Smartphones. Most likely this feature should give the One Plus One some points on all benchmark Scores on the S5.
For Internal Storage the Galaxy S5 comes with 16 GB internal Storage in the Standard Version and via Micro-SD extendable up too 128 GB internal storage. The One Plus One has no option for memory expansion. It is available though with internal storage options as big as 64GB ( also available with 16GB).
The S5 is clearly Samsung Flagship in the moment and offers some high end featurs that you wont find on any other smartphones. One of the most useful is the ultrea power saving mode, which offers huge power saving by utilizing only minimal resources, super important with todays smartphone generation. Also you get a finger print scanner, which is actually usable and a heart rate monitor.
Winner: For us the One Plus One is the Winner in this category. While the S5 can point with Apps and additional features, an extra 1GB of Ram is worth a lot when it comes to performance and usage of the phone.
Camera and Pictures
We heard much of the Samsung S5 Camera, e.g in this ad where Samsung makes fun of Apple for having double the megapixel then Iphones 5s.
The Camera of the Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with 16 MP ISOCELL and offers simply great pictures. Check our article here for some samples of the Samsung S5 Camera. The One Plus One competes with a 13MP Sony Exmor RS Sensor combined with 6 parts lens with f/2,0 aperture and dual LED flash.
With this camera and lenses you can be sure that both will offer fantastic performance and solid pictures. If you like shooting selfies or use Skype a lot you might like the One Plus One more. It is equipped with a 5 Megapixel Front Camera vs the Galaxg S5 2.1 Megapixel Front Cam.
Winner: Tie.
Software
One of the areas where the OnePlus One can really dominate is the software. It comes with CyanogenMod 11S, which is a special release customized to this smartphone. It featues stock Android 4.4 Kitkat, a lot of customization options and other great features like playing FLAC files.
Also the One Plus one has voice command for waking the phone up, launching apps or pre-set gestures.
Samsung S5 is delivered with the characteristic TouchWiz UI, with new features and updates. Youve get new apps like MyMagazine, which is a second screen to aggregate your favorite media.
Winner: OnePlus One. With Cyanogen Mod 11S you have total freedom to customize your OS and the software of the One Plus one. With Samsung Touch WIZ is signifcantly harder to customize the smartphone after your taste.
So far One Plus has announced the One for 16 countries at an impressive pricing of 290 USD ( around 980RM) and only 349 USD ( 1140 RM) for the 64 GB Version. Thats literally unbeatable.

Microsoft changes Nokia Brand to ‘Microsoft Lumia’
“Despite the fact that Microsoft’s OS powers most Nokia devices, the Nokia brand repertoire was pushing the sales.”
The deal between Nokia and Microsoft has finalized for some time now and Microsoft will take over the rights to all of Nokia Smartphones and Feature Phones, as announced earlier by the two giants. Contrary to what most of us believed, is that apparently Microsoft will not be using the prominent Nokia brand, but will shift the Windows Phone based smartphones to its new brand, “Microsoft Lumia”.
According to news by “Nokiapoweruser”, Microsoft has already informed Nokia and all its suppliers and telling them about new brand strategy with ” Microsoft Lumia”.
“Please note that upon the close of the transaction between Microsoft and Nokia, the name of Nokia Corporation/Nokia will change to Microsoft Lumia. Microsoft Lumia is the legal entity name that should be used for VAT IDs and for the issuance of invoices,” Microsoft noted in the leaked letter.
Now its official, according to this Post on Nokia France Facebook, the followers will be notified an the it will now be called “Microsoft Lumia”. According to the Verge this Rebranding will continue in other countries.
Microsoft has already been working on redirecting some pages from Nokia to Microsoft.com these past days, and Microsoft Lumia was a safe bet for the Rebranding.
The whole thing is a rather bold move by Microsoft. Sure Windows OS is a Microsoft Product, but its definitely Nokia who made sure the Windows operating system can survive against Android and Apple OS with its famous Lumia Smartphone Series.
Through the change of the brand name from Nokia to “Microsoft Lumia”, they will be able to position all phones and the OS under a single brand name.
Especially Nokias Lumia Smartphone and Phablet Series has gained popularity in recent years and helped fighting off the competitors Apple and Samsung with great prices in Malaysia and a lot of Nokia Fans on Facebook. With features like 42MP Cameras Nokia was actually on a good way after dropping Sales worldwide from the former Feature Phone Giant. Apart from buying the brand, Microsoft has also licensed Nokias Apps like Nokia Music and Nokia HERE, but here they will probably need to keep the brand name.
The leaked letter showed also other important points:
“Under the terms of the sale, Microsoft will assume all rights, benefits, and obligations of the Nokia Devices and Services business, including Nokia’s agreements with suppliers, customers and partners which pertain to the Devices and Services business. Therefore, the purpose of this letter is to update you that the current terms and conditions that you have with the Devices and Services business will not change.”
The european smartphone producer, once clearly Number One worldwide, in the pre smartphone area, has agreed no to use the brand for its mobile phones until 2015, after then NOKIA will be allowed to produce phones under its old brand name.
With Nokia branded Smartphones stopping to exist at least for coming years, thats truly marks the end of an era. If we remember back, the Giant From Finland used to be clear Number 1, but they overslept the Smartphone and Tablet Future.
One thing which might promise a brighter future for Nokia is if they finally accept the clear Dominance of Android world wide. The Nokia X was an nice try, but not really impressive. If Nokia can achieve to fully utilize the Power of Android OS and combine with its quality smartphones and features, they can definitely stand a chance – but not until 2016 !
What do you think of the name change to “Microsoft Lumia”?
New LG G3 Specs and Prices in Malaysia
The LG G2 is still one of the hottest smartphone on the Malaysian Market right now for a price of 1370. Thats why a lot of people have been excited what the new Premium LG Phone, the new LG G3 has to offer. According to Digital Trends, they say there will be major changes for LG G3 and its looking very promising. They claim ” from an trusted industry source” and there are even pictures of the new User Interface to support their claims.
These three screenshots are supposedly from the soon launching LG G3 smartphone which apparently should show “show flatter and brighter icons, a revamped weather widget with built-in suggestions, a much cleaner looking notifications screen, and circular icons (a new trend)”.
Comparison between LG G Pro 2 and LG G3 home screen UI.
It seems like also LG is building in a new “Concierge” feature which will work like Google Now for its phone. The Concierge feature will take notes of the things you do to create useful personal suggestions based on the data collected by you. This screenshot shows the recommendation to bring an Umbrella, since its most likely going to rain, and the LG G3 “Concierge” App already collected the fact that the User will go home at this time of the day.

Rumoured Specs of the LG G3

32GB storage (expandable to 64GB via microSD)
13MP rear and 2.1MP front cameras

Up to date the rumours of the LG G3 definitely dont disappoint. It seems like it can follow the success story of the LG G2 and be a worthy rival of Apple Iphone 6 and Samsung S5 in the Premium Segment. The LG G3 release date is probably in June 2014.
Blackberry Z10 Review – Best Deal in Malaysia 2014
BlackBerry Z10 Review – Deal of the Year
We honestly think that the Blackberry Z10 is the best deal on the Malaysian Market right now. Not even one year ago the phone was sold at a price of 2188 RM. Now you can buy it at 678 RM, thats a real price drop of over 1500 RM. For an amazing price of 678 RM you still get a Top Notch Smartphone that is now even able to play most if not all Android Apps after the new Software Update. Thats why we wrote a short Review to remind you how awesome the Z10 actually is, it might even be the Best Blackberry phone ever.
The 2013 flagship smartphone runs on the latest BlackBerry 10.2.1 version. One of the greatest advantages is that next to Blackberrys own apps, all Android Apps will run on the Z10. Also you have useful features like Private and Business Mode from Blackberry via multiple profiles.
The Blackberry Z10 is featuring a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon Dual Core Processor with stunning 2GB of RAM for internal memory, same as Iphone 5S or HTC ONE. For internal Storage it is packed with 16GB and is extendable up to 32GB with Micro SD Slot. The Z10 Screen is 4.2-inch Touchscreen with a HD resolution of 1280×768 and a colour density of 356 ppi. With Blackberrys TimeShift Mode you can finally take pictures where everybody is smiling in the picture and it works like a charm.

BlackBerry delivers a quick charger, like a powerbank for on the way, so you are never out of battery again.

The Blackberry will be sold only as long as the stock lasts so you better be fast. Once again this is Black Berry Z10 Hardware that yoy get which means quality. That they are loosing vs Android and Apple doesnt mean they are using low quality hardware – quite the opposite. So be fast and grab one as long as you can for this great price.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Review and Prices in Malaysia
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is here and shows in the first review: A lot of rumors were incorrect. The S4 Evolution has some exciting news, but will still disappoint some users. Please check our newest S5 review here:
Samsung Galaxy S5 in the first review from MWC 2014: “The S4-S5 successor Samsung Galaxy preceded the wildest rumors. There were stories of an extremely high resolution display, a curved display or two technically different S5 variants, some with metal housing. Those who believed these rumors, now probably be a bit disappointed by the S5 featured at the Mobile World Congress Galaxy: None of this is true. If, however, you keep an open mind with the Samsung Galaxy S5, you can look forward to a really strong smartphone.”
Design: New look, Superior quality
Visually, the S5 Galaxy comes in a typical Samsung look. However, the smartphone, as had already been the Galaxy Note 3, now gets a chrome-colored surround, which comes along a bit too baroque . But successful is definitely the visually attractive plastic back. The matte surface carries a golf ball pattern with many small round depressions and feels soft. This then provides for a very secure grip during operation. This also fits the still low weight of 145 grams. The offered colors white, black, blue and bronze should also be available from the start. The processing of the test pattern was already from absolute level series and gave no cause for criticism. In addition, the Galaxy S5 is now certified by the house and IP67 protected against dust and temporary immersion in water. The special micro-USB 3.0 socket on the bottom is protected by a cover against water, the headphone jack on the other hand on top open. This suggests an encapsulated version, in which the liquid can not penetrate into the interior.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Specs and Hardware
The AMOLED display is growing very little from 5 inches so far with the Galaxy S4 to now 5.1 inches. The resolution comes as the current top smartphones standard, with 1080 x 1920 pixels and thus in Full HD, therefore, providing a pixel density of 432 ppi. The already from the Galaxy S4 Adapt display technology, which automatically ensures an optimum experience, comes here in their latest generation. The display of the Galaxy S5 was already top in any case. Subjective and in direct comparison with a Galaxy S4, S5 offers with the display, a larger luminance efficiency. This must be tested in the lab and has yet to confirm.
Due to the slightly larger display, however surprise but the S5 has significantly larger external dimensions compared to its predecessor Galaxy S4. This is particularly striking when one successive compares the two smartphones. And this is surprising because in addition also the battery with 2800 mAh is only slightly more powerful. Speaking of battery: it has a distinctly different form factor than the previous Samsung batteries. There is also a so-called Ultra-Power-Saving Mode, which should provide for very long maturities. How does this works? According to Samsung, among others, the screen display to black and white will be converted. One advantage of OLED displays.
Galaxy S5 Specs: Evolution with high added value
In terms of platform Samsung would probably not lay all the cards on the table, because, with the use of a quad core CPU with 2.5 GHz and 2 GB of memory, there was no further information on this topic. By default, the Galaxy S5 comes back with 16 GB of memory. However, there will be a 32 GB version of the Galaxy S5 and there should also be a MicroSD slot with the top smartphone under its battery cover. The Galaxy S5 masters all current wireless standards and as a special extra-fast ac-Fi with MiMo for an even faster data transfer. In addition, LTE and WiFi can also be used simultaneously for downloads.
Features: Fingerprint and heart rate sensor on board
The real highlights, however, the user will find elsewhere. So there is below the camera a sensor that measures the heart rate at a finger-touch and displays on the newly designed and equipped with additional functions Fitness Tracker Health S 3.0. Another highlight is the fingerprint sensor in the home button. This feature knows the smartphone fan already from Apple’s iPhone 5s.
The Samsung engineers are particularly proud of the camera. The clippers dissolves in Wide mode with 16 megapixels and 4:3 format with 12 megapixels. As a real treat the camera of the Galaxy S5 dominates the recording HDR images and videos real-time. That means the user sees before the capture on the display how the high contrast image will look like. The autofocus is extremely fast with response time of 0.3 seconds, and the selective focus creates intentional blurring in the foreground or background. In terms of video, the Samsung dominates even the inclusion in Ultra HD with 3840 x 2160 pixels. In addition, there are also new presets to explore.
Operations: Samsung users will have to get used too it
The Samsung’s proprietary user interface of the Android 4.4.2-model shines in a new look. So there is to discover redesigned icons and new designed information and status display. Also to the setup menu, Samsung has applied changes. However, the changed appearance and the sheer number of menu items not just provide better clarity, the user even get to choose of three different display options.
Samsung users need to also get used to other things, because with the Galaxy S5, the left sensor button no longer serves as learned over the years, for selection of options, but now calls the display for the used apps and programs. Otherwise, the Galaxy S5 in terms of handling is free from criticism. The operating speed is great and the user can easily zap through the many features, that it is a pure joy. Unnecessary waiting times? Forget it! The home screen has also received an additional level with My Magazine. Here, the user can retrieve various information.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Summary
Despite some criticisms in this Review, Samsung and smartphone fans can look forward to an exciting top smartphone with the Galaxy S5. However, the competition of smartphones heating up. Which chipset ultimately the Samsung Galaxy S5 will support, and when and at what price the smartphone will hit the Malaysian market, is likely to show in the coming weeks. On 11 April is the Galaxy S5 comes on the market. We will stay on the ball!
Nike Fuelband in Malaysia Review + Features
There are many wristband fitness trackers on the market in Malaysia and more versions launching so that it is sometimes hard to keep track. Nike with its Fuelband Series has been the leader so far in this segment. Against Competitors like Fitbit Nike has been looking for ways to stand out and gets its users moving and nails exactly that with its newest version of the NIKE FUELBAND in Malaysia.
The New Nike+ Fuelband which has a price of 765 RM is definitely Nike’s smartest tracker up to date. The competitor Fitbit might have beautiful OLED Display, but if you are really looking to stay active and get in form the features of the NIKE help like no other competitor. You can select between heavy workouts and casual strolls and it even alarms you if you have been sitting for too long.
Nike+ Fuelband Smart Tracker
In the spirit of Smart Watches its easier then ever to view the time with the Fuelband : You just need to doubleclick on the Wristband button and it displays the time on the screen. Its a very helpful addition and highlights how Nike has been rethinking and redesigning its already successful Fuelband Series.
Design
There are a lot of unattractive and chunky wristband trackers and smartwatches but the Nike Fuelband is easyily one of the most stylish in Malaysia. One of the cool things is that it comes in all colours you can wish for and Nike really didnt hold back. You have options as crimson (red), volt(yellow), pink foil ertc and the new colours really give new personality to the product. Rest assured the all black option is still available too.
The overall design of the band was well received with previous models — attracting positive customer feedback and some awards — but Nike made a few improvements with the SE, mainly with ramping up what’s under the hood and increasing battery power. But the design updates are noticeable right away (see picture below).
The band still has the single-button design with LED display. It feels light on the wrist, and the smallest size fits mine perfectly without feeling too snug. It comes with filler pieces, too, so you can add and remove to tailor the fit to your size, whether it’s tiny or large. I’ve been wearing the SE on my left hand to avoid discomfort at the computer mouse.
The overall design got numerous awards and a lot of positive customer feedback, with the new Fuelband the design updates are noticeable though right away ( see the picture). The Band has still the single button design with LED Display and it feels very light on the wrist. As well it comes with filler pieces so you can tailor it to the size of your wrist. I personally like to wear it on the left wrist because I mainly work on the laptop and can avoid any discomfort.
For the first time now The Fuelband comes with Bluetooth Smart Technology, which makes the setup process much easier. Now there is really no syncining or long and complicated process necessary. Really the most complicated now was to remember the NIKE Password.
The Charging is still very easy. Same as with the previous versions of the Band Nike keeps it simple and you can just plug it in the USB Port of your Computer to charge it. By popping the small botton near the Nike Logo the USB connector appears and you can charge it.
Software
The SE still focuses on Fuel points, which is the main metric used throughout the band. Nike is trying to create Fuel points with a scientific algorithm behind it, bumping it up from 50 data points to 250 in its latest device. One of the biggest difficulties from previous models — or in other wristband trackers in general — is it doesn’t give you specialized credit for the type of movement you do. Now, Nike will award more Fuel points for a bike ride than, say, clapping your hands.
The Fuelband is still focused on Sesssion points. With an scientific algorithm you can get up to 250 Fuelpoins, increasing it from 50 in the older models. In other Wristbands and with older version you dont get specialized credit for different activities, with the Fuelband you get more point for playing basketball, then making a coffee, finally.
And yes you get credit for walking around in the house but the band weights the data on low and high intensity activities. As well you can label certain periods, as playing tennis or going outside to better keep track of calories burned and activiy. The Fuelband shows you when you are most active in the day, for example may your evening be the least active or for me the most active since I mostly go to the gym in the evening.
The best new feature to the Fuelband SE is the Nike+ Sessions, which allows you to differentiate for times when you are working out or are at the gym. You just hit a button and it counts to 3 and it kicks of a session that tracks how ever long you choose. Afterwards you get a snapshot of the fuel you earned during that workout.
Another Cool Upgrade is that the watch will remind you to get up and move every hour. If you want to keep healthy, you are supposed to get up at least for every 5 minutes in an hour and move around. Nike Fuelband will remind you and help with that
Like before you can team up with other Fuelband Users or create groups with your friends and coworkers etc. Then you are able to track your progress and you can earn trophies and achievements along the way to keep motivated.
Summary:
The Competitors can definitely learn from Nikes Fuelband from the alarm to get up, to the super sleek design and the calling out of working out sessions. It might be a bit more expensive then the FITBIT but anyone who is already part of Nikes network will get out a lot of the newest additon to the Nike Fuelband Series.
PLUS :
Simple Setup
Very strong new features
Intuitive operation
Sleek Design
Minus
No sleep tracking
No OLED Display
Bottom Line
The Nike+ Fuelband in Malaysia its a bit more expensive then other trackers but its worth its quality and will help you stay fit and more active throughout the day.
Here a video of the Fuelband plus:
LG G2 Prices In Malaysia – Review – Better Smartphone then Samsung’s Galaxy S4?
The LG G2 Malaysia does one thing pretty much different then all other Smartphones. In a attempt to differentiate themselves from the other Smartphone manufactures and especially its Arch-Rival Samsung, LG placed nearly all buttons on the rear end of the G2. This is a very bold move in an age where most of the contemporary Android Smartphones look mostly like clones of each other. The oddest thing about that strategic decision from LG is: It doesn’t really need to differentiate itself from Samsung – The LG G2 can beat the Samsung S4 in nearly all aspects.
Back Vs Side Buttons
Lg says that the main reason to move the On/Off button to the back of the G2 is that it gets easier to manipulate the volume of the conversation while holding the phone to your ear. And they are right – it gets a bit easier to turn down or up the volume, so you can adjust the sound to your surroundings.
While this is a pro, it doesn’t outweigh the deficiencies that come with the new arrangement of the buttons. It gets more difficult to wake up or put the G2 to sleep. Because it doesn’t have a physical home button and the on/off key is between the up/down toggle its not easy to get the G2 just by feel.
Also while you watching a video or just laying the G2 on the back you risk putting the phone to sleep.
To put the G2 to sleep or wake it up, you have to tap it twice on the screen. While this double tapping works just fine most of the time, sometimes it does not and you have to fiddle with the keys on the backside, which is unnecessary work.
It comes with a slightly bigger screen then Samsungs S4 ( 5.2 vs 5 inches) and a better battery (3000 mAh vs 2600 mAh). Despite these advantages it is barely larger ( G2: 5.45 x 2.79 x 0.35 inches, GS4: 5.38 x 2.75 x 0.31 inches) or heavier then its biggest competitor.
Like all 5 inch plus phones the G2 is hard to manipulate with just one hand, e.g the dial pad option is one the upper left part of the screen making it nearly impossible to control it with just one hand.
Performance Comparison
The G2 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor with 2.26GHz, which is superior to the Samsungs S4 Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 with 1.9 GHz. In benchmarks and side by side test for every day usage, like web surfing, checking mails, using apps or downloading videos, the G2 performs those tasks more efficient and better then the S4, if only slighter.
Both devices come with 2GB of RAM. LG delivers the G2 with 32GB of Storage versus the 16GB of the S4, but the G2 comes with out the MicroSD card expandability.
Screen Comparison
To compare the S4 and the G2 based on their screens, depends on how much video the user likes to watch.
Both Screens come with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The G2 has an IPS LCD display with 423 ppi vs 441 pixel per inch on the S4 Super AMOLED. The G2’s screen is slightly bigger, but it has the Home Back and Menu controls on screen.
One Issue with the S4 that was remarked in a lot of tests and benchmarks is that is has gray tint that affects nearly every screen, but especially those with a white background. Because of that the GS2 colors are better and contrast brighter for nearly all activities on the Smartphone.
One big exception is watching Videos. When watching Videos the advantages of the AMOLED come to play. It has a much wider viewing angles and also for videos colors are superior to the experience on the G2 IPS (in-plane switching) screen.
Camera Comparison
When it comes to the comparison of the 13 MP Camera in both phones we have a clear winner – The G2 has the better camera.
Especially indoors without Flash and with optical image stabilization, the G2 focuses much better, brings pictures with more color and more detail and less blurry shots. With the GS4 it takes often some time to get a crisp shot, while the G2 usually gets a clean shot at first time.
Outdoors and with sun is easy for both, although the G2 images have better colors and slightly more details.
Like the iPhone, the G2 also includes the Camera button on lock screen, so just slide up the screen and you are ready to go.
If you have to turn on the flash for pictures, the G2 doesn’t bleach the pictures as much as the GS4 and the flash is more evenly distributed on the pictures. Still both pictures take to long too take a picture with flash – up to 5 seconds.
LG G2s Picture is left on the pic, S4 right.
Battery Comparison
One of the most important factors these days in Smartphones is the battery life time. Due to the better battery with 3000mAh vs 2600mAH the GS2 comes with a longer battery life. When watching videos the G2 ran for 4.3 hours vs 3.75 hours on the GS4. With normal usage the G2 lasts longer into the days with a one time charge then the S4. Check out my article on Power Banks to charge your Smartphone too.
G2 TOPS and FLOPS
TOP
- Brilliant HD 5.2-inch screen
- Very Good 13MP camera
- Superior Batter Life
FLOP
- Missing microSD card slot
- Average Video viewing
- Weird to navigate one-handed
Summary
The LG G2 price in Malaysia is 1663 RM at the moment. For that it offers more storage, a better screen and superior performance, as well as better pictures and navigation compared to the S4. As well as in nearly all aspects of every usage, battery life, navigation and usage of Camera the LG outperforms Samsungs Galaxy S4.

Power Banks (External Battery) Review for Malaysia
Today lets look at power banks (external batteries) a more and more famous accessory these days for the iPhone 5s and 5. While you can use power banks with almost every modern smartphone we reviewed Power banks for Apples iPhone 5.
Even the newest generation of smartphones or tablets has one limitation – the battery life. Even more so with the bigger displays, fast processor and running multiple apps at the same time. What to do if your phone does not offer an exchangeable battery like the Apple products and no charger anywhere near? One options is to easily extend the lifespan of your favorite device with a portable power bank.
A power bank is essentially a external portable battery in closed case. This power bank comes with a USB cable, so to charge it you just connect it to your laptop or computer. After charging you just bring the small device with you in your backpack or bag and can use it to easily charge your smartphone full again and end all frustration with short battery life times.
Powerbanks are rated in mAH, the same like the battery in your smartphone or Tablet. They are about 70-80 % efficient, which means that only 80% of the battery energy goes into your smartphone, the rest is lost to heat. That means with a 3600 mAH power bank you wouldn’t be able to fully charge your S4 once. Even with a 4000 mAH this would be a bit short, but no worries will be talking about power banks with more mAh later.
Powerbanks, simply called External batteries by some companies, since there is no standard name yet, have become pretty popular, so especially the truly large or small ones are interesting here for us. One of the smallest available is the Macsonic Power Bank, a 2200 mAh baby built from sleek aluminum. It will give your your iPhone 5 more then one full charge. I weights only 100 grams and is about the height and width of a debit card, so you can easily bring it everywhere you go. It is available in a lot of
Another very small device is the Power-Pond Smile 3000mAh Blue that comes in 3 fresh colors, blue, yellow and black and even has an integrated laser pointer and torch light. With the Pond Smile Power Bank you can fully charge your iPhone 5 two times.
Both of these external batteries are extremely affordable and weight only 100 gramm – which means they are light enough to carry in a pocket even when playing ball or running.
Do you want too see more power banks to load your favorite Apple Gadget? There are a lot of options in the midrange but one of my favorites is the Macsonic MPBA06, a 6000 mAh unit that comes with Dual USB ports and various adapter heads so you can charge all of your favorite devices. A LED light indicates about how much the battery is charged already and it automatically stops charging as soon as your device is fully loaded. This one I am carrying with me on long days, It can charge my iPhone 5 nearly four times fully. A great device.
At 6000 mAh a great unit is the i-Glitters Handycolor Twin USB Powerbank, that is very fashionable and comes in four fresh colors. The unit comes with 2 USB Inputs and even a mini USB input so you can charge multiple devices at the same time, also this power bank will save your device from overcharging and short circuits. I comes also with two USB Cables, and 5 external connectors so you can charge all of your favorite devices.
Now lets move up to some units that will satisfy the power junkies under you ;). Please bear in mind that the more mAh the power banks have the heavier they normally are. If you own a tablet additionally to your iPhone or smartphone you will need the extra juice. One of the greatest devices from the heavier chargers is the MY Power Bank LED Powerbank which comes with 12000 mAh. The unit has a very classy design and comes with two different power outputs, so you can charge 2 devices at the same time, it works with most of devices and protects your favorite smartphone from overcharging too. To get back to your iPhone 5, that means that you can fully charge your iPhone 5 six to seven times while traveling just with the power of this external battery, or you just decide to charge your iPhone and iPad at the same time.
Another one of my favorite units in the same weight class is the Macsonic Portable Battery Bank, with 12000 mAh, which is available in White and Grey and a lot more colors. If you want to do a simple calculation, this beauty power bank will be able to use your IPhone 5 up to 5-6 times fully, that means never worry about not having enough battery power anymore. It comes with two USB ports, so you can charge two devices like smartphone and your digital camera at the same time. On top of that the package includes 8 adaptor heads so you’ll be able to charge a multitude of devices with this power bank. It works with nearly all big brands like Apple, HTC, Samsung etc and can even load your digital gaming devices like PSP.
Do you need even more power? Lets look at the all time favorite the Universal Dual Port Powerbank, with full load of 20000 mAH, available in black and white. The 20000 mAH means you can charge a device like the iPhone 5 with a 1440 mAH battery 8-9 x times fully before you need to charge the Power Bank again. It comes with two USB Ports for loading simultaneously, has 8 connectors and is compatible with iPad, iPhone, Samsung, Nokia, HTC, digital cameras and much more devices. It has a blue LED indicator and prevents from overcharging. At the current price this is really clever investment in your digital future when using your favorite smartphones and tablets.
An alternative with the heavy hitters under the power banks is the i-Glitters Icon Twin USB Powerbank with 20000 mAh.The power bank has a nice and decent design and weights only 300 gramm. Like the other heavier units it comes with dual USB port for changing two devices simultaneously, protects you from overcharging your smartphone and offers a universal cable and ports to charge all of your favorite devices.
Thats it for external batteries and chargers, stay tuned for our next in depth review here from Oizoioi Malaysia.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Review – The World Best Android Smartphone gets better
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in hand
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Deep Review – The World Best Android Smartphone gets better
Summary: The highest specs on an Android Smartphone, improved Samsung Software and one of the largest Displays with S Pen Support – Samsung achieves to to take great device and produce an even greater device while the size is staying the same.
With the Galaxy Note series Samsung achieved to create a whole new section of Smartphones. And while you can argue if you need a device that big the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is undisputed one of the best Android Smartphones available right now. It seems that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is even better with improved S Pen functionality, a minimal larger display, improved hardware and Android 4.3. Samsung improved the Design elegantly so you can bring it finally into work and meetings.
Hardware
Samsung achieved to give the Note 3 a larger display with 5.7 inch while at the same time deducting the width by 1.3 mm. The removable back has no a leather feel to it, it feels nice and sticky in the hand and helps with the grip. To give it an even more classy look there are fake stitches around the edges. The Phone itself is available in black and white and while its still made from rather thin plastic – the design improvements help for sure.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is available in a 32GB and a 64 Gb Version and both versions come with a Micro SD slot so you can update your memory even more if you want too. With the fallen prices of SD Cards, I love this feature especially about Smartphones. As well the 3200 mAH Battery is exchangeable so you can safely travel and bring a second battery with you. Even on days where I had heavy use of the Note 3 – four hours of screen time , phone calls, half an hour of video streaming, some hours of web browsing – The Note 3 had consistently more then 30% of battery left at night. The Note 3 should easily last you for some years.
With 386 pixel per inch the 1080p Super AMOLED Display of the Note 3 looks simply fantastic. Details are shown razor sharp while colors nearly popping off the screen, most of Smartphone users will find the Screen a treat for the eyes. While AMOLED tend to suffer more in Sunlight then their LCD counterparts, the Note 3’s display remains perfectly viewable even in outside direct sunlight here in SEA. The center physical button is still below the display with two backlit capacitive areas on either side of the button.
The Volume Button is on the upper left side, embedded in plastic grooved metal frame of the Note 3. The microphone,a 3.5mm audio jack and IR port are found on the top while the right side has the traditional Samsung power button and a microphone opening.
On the bottom of the you get a USB 3.0 port that also works as an HDMI out with the use of an MHL adapter. The inclusion of USB 3.0 is very nice, since it makes the phone charge lightening fast when you use the included USB 3.0 cable and the port provides you very fast data transfers with your Computer or Laptop. And don’t worry you can still connect your existing micro USB to the right side the new port ,although you won’t get the TOP Speed of the USB 3.0. The mono speaker is as well found on the bottom of the Note 3.
At the right bottom edge is the opening for the S Pen. The S Pen is a bit longer then one found in the Note 2 and has been designed to fit in both ways. The feel of the S Pen is good, although It could be improved with more metal in the body.
The 13 Mp Megapixel Camera is found near the top of the back with a LED Flash below it and able to take great pictures. The 2 Megapixel Front Camera is at the top right corner. As well the Note 3 have some new features from Samsung like a new mode called Surround Shot, which is Samsung’s version of Google’s 360-degree Photo Sphere feature.
The biggest improvements of the Galaxy Note 3 are found inside with the hardware of the phone. It comes equipped with a very fast 2.3 GHZ Snapdragon 800 Quad Core Processor, full 3GB of RAM ( AWESOME ), higher resolution camera, exchangeable 3.200 mAH battery and more. That kind of horsepower makes the phone plenty fast – All your app loading and multitasking are fine and the Web Browsing is satisfying smooth and swift.
Software
On top of the improved hardware functions Samsung also made the usage of the S Pen better and easier. While many users didn’t find the S Pen essential on the Note 2, Samsung ‘ s new Air Command Controller appears automatically when you slide the S Pen out and helps you use the pen more daily.
With Air Command you can choose to launch, Scrapbooker, Screen Write, Action Memo or Pen Window with a Single click of the S Pen.
Action Memo lets you use handwritten text on the display that can be used to start actions on the Note 3. You can make a call, open a contact, send a email or text message, open the web browser or GMaps or create your to do list. This feature is very useful and can will probably be adapted by a lot of users.
The Scrapbooker can capture content from different locations in your device ( browser, images youtubed videos and more) and organize it in different collections. You can easily give tags and titles to these collections to better organize them for the future.
After choosing Screen Write from Air Command, you’ll take a screen shot from the display. Youlll get a number of tools to edit the screenshot on the Note 3. These include the type of pens, pen color, an eraser or cropping tool and you can easily share it after editing.
With the S Finder you can easily filter your search results and find hand written notes as well as text based data. Your data is easily filtered by date and type of data.
LG has a function similar to Pen Windows where you can open up and use small utilities over the top of primary apps. As you can see in my screenshots, Pen Window utilities appear in the same size box after you draw a small square and select a tool. Available tools include calculator, clock, YouTube, phone dialer, contacts, Hangouts, and web browser. The app selection is limited, but you may find one or two useful.
There are other S Pen functions on top of those. You can use the pen to draw around areas on your display and capture the parts with a click of the pen for future use, use the pen for navigation, and using the S Pen with the improved S Note application that can sync with Evernote etc, and a smooth Easy Chart Function to show visuals in a field.
In addition to the S Pen improvements you’ll find Android 4.3. Since the Note 3 has the TouchWiz UI installed, there are not so many differences in the overall experience and User Interface of the new Android.
There are also quite a lot of Samsung Apps pre installed. While I find many of them useful, I would love to be able to remove them more easily whenever I want too. So far I haven’t found much support for this on Android. For business users there are Knox, S Translator, VPN Client and more.
The Note 3 is at the moment the only device that works with Galaxy Gear – and we really enjoyed the Gear experience.
Experience and Usage
I was already a fan of the Note 2 and like the Note 3 even more. I do appreciate the S Pen improvements, since I didn’t use the S Pen much on the Note 2. I think with the improvements specially with Air Command and S Note ill be using the Pen more and will try to replace more of my notebooks that I always carry with me. Especially in connection with my Evernote I’m excited to test it on a daily basis.
The Note 3 has a gorgeous large scree fast USB 3.0 and strong Quad Core Processor. The Size of the Screen is plus for me and not a con. I personally feel it gives me a good experience for my productivity and browsing needs. As well I’m build quite tall, so its not a big problem for me.
Even with heavy usage every day the 3.200 mAH battery makes the Note 3 hold the whole day – which I find very comfortable. Finally a smartphone where I don’t have to bring my cable with me everyday. it would be perfect if Samsung could also include Qi wireless charging and hope that Samsung will launch it soon.
