Nvidia Shield Tablet Review – The Ultimate Gaming Experience
Nvidia Shield Tablet Review
Are you a gamer? Do you want to try gaming on different consoles and experience fully the feeling of controlling a whole world in your hands? If you are, then you will want to try this new product of Nvidia – the Nvidia Shield Tablet. Its a very strong alternative to Xiaomi MI Tablet.
Released in July 2014, Nvidia Shield is said to be built for gamers. Indeed, with its strong configuration and the ability to run many large and amazing games without lagging, Nvidia Shield is really a unique device gamers should not pass. Aiming to give users the experience of “exceptional entertainment”, the tablet has much more to offer, be it a gaming device or an Android tablet. Below is a list of features that you might experience when playing on Nvidia Shield Tablet.
Nvidia Shield Tablet- Design
The tablet is a bit heavy, weighing 390g and having the size of 221 x 126 x 9.2mm. It is not really thick, but quite big for a tablet. However, it is still smaller and lighter than an iPad, and users can still pick it up with just one hand. The device is overall black and comes with a tablet cover. The flip cover acts as a kickstand like that of Surface Pro, and allows you to freely change the angle of the tablet for better viewing when you are playing your games.
The tablet has a frame with integrated magnesium thermal shield to keep it from heating up too much, hence the name SHIELD. The edges are slightly curved to make the tablet more appealing. The bezel ring around the screen makes the display seem smaller that it should be. The back cover has a Shield logo and is made of plastic so it is easy to leave fingerprints there. On top of the tablet is a stylus port, and the stylus is a brush style instead of a rounded tip, which makes navigating on the screen easier. Next to the stylus are the power, volume buttons and memory card slot.
Display –Nvidia Shield
Nvidia Shield Tablet has a 8’’ display with the resolution of Full HD 1920 x 1200 p and pixel density of 275 ppi. With these specifications, the screen shows images in real, vibrant color. High contrast, saturation accuracy and brightness are assured on the device.
For your gaming experience, the large screen of 8’’ and IPS panel allows wider viewing angles, which is very convenient for gamers. Multitouch feature allows smoother movement on the screen and more fingers to work on a game. When compared to other tablet devices, Nvidia Shield Tablet is great enough.
Performance – Nvidia Shield
The main point of this article is how Nvidia Shield Tablet works with games. Said to be equipped with the world’s fastest mobile processor that is the NVIDIA® Tegra® K1 192 core Kepler GPU and a 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex A15 CPU with 2GB RAM, the Shield is powerful enough. Games run smooth and fast on the tablets with high frame rate. With the front facing audio speakers, clear sounds are produced, enabling a more enjoyable environment while gaming. Moreover, as an Android tablet, gaming on the device can be considered the best option.
You can enjoy standard Android games, games that are specifically for K1 processor and many more. You can also stream games on your PC onto the Shield for more convenient gaming. Games such as Trine 2 are already installed on the tablets to give you first hand experience before diving deep into the great world of gaming.
Over 200 SHIELD-optimized games are there for you to enjoy. Additionally, since the tablet has a strong configuration, other applications that require large memory and high quality movies can be played without problems. For this gaming tablet, battery capacity is also something one should not pass when you are using the device.
The Shield tablet has a 19.75Wh battery, which enables more than 13 hours for web surfing, 18 hours and more for video playing. When you are gaming at full speed and playing those that are optimized for Tegra K1, the tablet will last around two and a half hours. The endurance is like that of a laptop for gaming. Overall, Nvidia Shield Tablet is certainly one of the best out there.
Camera
For most tablets, camera is just a plus since not many people will shoot photo with such a big device. However, the camera on Nvidia Shield is impressive with its front camera. Both cameras have a resolution of 5MP, using OmniVision’s OVT5963 sensor. 5MP with the aperture of f/2.0 are not a very high combination, so with the rear camera you will not do much except taking some fun photos with auto focus. However, the front camera with the resolution of 5MP and an aperture of f/2.8 is more than enough for self-portrait taking, which is a trend on present devices.
Console mode
By switching to console mode you can stream the game onto a HDTV with HDMI support by plugging the device to the TV box. This is convenient for people who want to play on a much larger screen. Your TV will act as the display and you have to use a controller or keyboard and mouse to navigate through games. When connecting to a TV, the app icons and menu are switched to 1080 p display though. Otherwise, you can stream videos to your TV to make it like a home theater.
DirectStylus 2
As mentioned above, the stylus that comes with the Shield is an amazing part. With the brush style, it’s easier to move and slide on the screen than a rounded tip stylus. You do not have to apply much pressure, so your hands will not be tired after using it for a long time. Moreover, the tablet comes with a handwriting recognition keyboard, which enables you to “write” on the screen instead for some fun. There is also an app that allows you to paint on: Nvidia Dabbler. By turning the screen into a simulated canvas, you can use the stylus as if it is a real brush, and start working on your own master piece. Controller Users can attach the Shield with a controller to play as a console.
The game controller does not come with the package, but you can order the Shield Wireless Game Controller to make it a set. Because the tablet and the controller are separated, you will not have to hold much weight in your hands like users have to with the original Shield. Some users will think they do not need a controller, but since the Shield tablet is still a gaming console, controller is an important part. Moreover, the controller has some features which are exclusively made for the tablet. Control mapping features like Game Mapper is installed on the tablet, and you can configure each game and assign buttons for easy access. When you download a game onto your device, it will automatically download the Game Mapper profile; you then can add controller support to your game and start playing to heart’s content.
Nvidia Shield Summary
“If you’re a gamer and you use a tablet, the Nvidia Shield tablet was created specifically for you,” said Jen-Hsun Huang, Nvidia’s CEO. Like he said, the Nvidia Shield tablet is definitely worth it. With this device coming to Malaysia, users will experience a whole new world of gaming on Android tablets.
MIUI V6 Launch – All Details you need to know!
MIUI V6 Launch -All Details
Xiaomi launched their newest and improved version of MIUI ROM! We bring you all the details and facts about MIUI V6 from the launch in Bejing.
If you have been following Xiaomi closely as us, you know that the new MIUI V6 was announced already some time ago together with the Xiaomi Mi4. Finally now Xiaomi moved to a fresh look with MIUI V6 with a brand new design and amazing new features.
MIUI V6 – It’s all about Design
We followed the MIUI V6 launch very closely. Judging the official introduction website and the launch, it seems that the biggest change is really the new MIUI V6 Design. Away from the stuffed look of MIUI V5, to a much fresher MIUI V6.
Moreover users get a new notification system, more cloud service and a faster UI. As far as we can see now, without testing MIUI V6 yet, the new features are:
MIUI V6 Launcher for Desktop
The biggest difference in MIUI V6 that you will spot immediately is the new MIUI Launcher. The MIUI Launcher does not only come with an improved look, Xiaomi also worked on the User Experience and speed. Xiaomi says its now much faster and easier to use.
Notifications on the new MIUI V6
Notifications are much easier to read now in MIUI V6. Incoming calls, messages or Downloads are announced via a larger black notification bar on the top of your screen. The new Notification Bar should improve the user experience and make the use of MIUI V6 much more flexible.
If you are about to take a picture while a call is coming in, then the new notification bar will tell you whole is calling. You can simply decide to first take the picture and then take the call, or depending who is calling not take the call at all.
MIUI V6 does also have a new shortcut to Notifications. With a simpe number on the lock screen you can see how many new messages you have. With a simple press of a button you will be able to read them direcly from the lock screen.
MIUI V6 on your Phone
By now Xiaomi has a large user audience. That means that Xiaomi and their server are able to collect a lot of useful information. If you allow Xiaomi too, some of this information can actually improve your daily life and user experience.
How often do you get calls and simply ignore them because you dont know the number? What if this was a important delivery or your new boss calling, both numbers which Xiaomi might have stored on their servers already. With the new Cloud Features of Xiaomi MIUI V6, you have a chance now of identifying those calls. This works even if you dont have the contact data stored in your account or on your phone.
By now Xiaomi has already stored more then 60 Million phone numbers of services and business to help users identify who is calling. Were sure they are going to extend this data base even more, and this could be a very useful feature then. Additionally a certain security layer is added, because it stops fraudulent calls more efficiently.
New apps on MIUI V6
Some of the apps on MIUI V5 has been just give a fresh design and more features like the Mail application. There are although completely new apps on the MIUI V6.
The new MIUI LIfe app works with the Users Location. Via the app users can find new intersting places around them. Xiaomi will even include the best deals for food and movie tickets near the location of the user.
With a new Yellow pages app, you can easily get the most important numbers directly from the app.
While these new apps sounds great, right now they are designed only for launch in China. Especially the MIUI Life app will not be customized for Malaysia yet and we have to see when those informations will come for Malaysia. A crowd sourced solution to populate the App with useful information for Malaysia would be great. So lets what Xiaomi Plans there.
MIUI V6 eve more themes
Themes have always been a big part of MIUI OS. If you dont like the new flat look of MIUI V6, you can easily download another theme and customize your experience. In total there are now more then 5000 different themes and looks available for MIUI.
How to download the new MIUI V6
The biggest question now is, how can you download the new MIUI V6 to your xiaomi device. Right now users can not download MIUI V6 just yet. For now Xiaomi has decided to not release MIUI V6 to all users. Instead Xiaomi has 100 beta testers to check the new MIUI Os and help to erase last bugs.
We have checked our Xiaomi devices, and also the new Xiaomi website, but so far there is no official MIUI V6 download offered.
It seems that there are some Leaks out there already though. Just search the Xiaomi Forum and you should be able to find the MIUI V6 Leak.
What do you think of MIUI V6? Do you like the new look and features?

Its the first time that Motorola produces at Nexus Device and we are very excited about those leaked Nexus 6 specs. The Nexus 5 has been an insanely popular smartphone and we hope the new Nexus 6 is going to be as strong as well.
The Nexus 6 will not sport the current Snapdragon 801 with Adreno 330 GPU anymore like Xiaomi Mi4 for example. Instead the new Nexus 6 will come with the impressive Qualcomm Quadcore Snapdragon 805 processor, clocked at 2,65 Ghz and Adreno 420 GPU. ON top of that the Nexus 6 gets 3GB of Ram. Next to the Tegra K1, the Snapdragon 805 will surely be one of the strongest mobile processors on the market.
Nexus 6 Specs
The Nexus 6 comes as well with an impressive 2K 5.2 inch QHD display with a 1,440 x 2,560 resolution. On this 5.2 inch display users will get a pixel density of 564ppi which is unmatched so far by other QHD smartphones like the LG G3.
The new Nexus phone will also have a 13MP rear Camera and 2.1MP Front Camera for Selfies. 4K resolution Videos are also not a problem for the Nexus 6 Camera. While the camera might seem not so impressive compard to other Flagship Phones, we expect usual high picture quality as on the Nexus 5 phone.
And finally the Nexus 6 will feature the new Android L. The new Nexus might be even one of the first smartphones to get Android L, increasing the popularity of the new Nexus phone even more.
Traditionally Nexus Devices are launched in Fall. Lets hope for a Big announcement by Google soon for the next hottest Nexus 6 Device. While the Nexus 5 is definitely very popular, its now hard to compete against Xiaomi Mi4 and upcomimg iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4.

Xiaomi MI4 vs OnePlus One
Xiaomi, the famous Chinese mobile manufacturer, has recently announced the release of their latest flagship product in China: Xiaomi Mi4. The release date of the phone in Malaysia will be in last quarter of 2014. Right now both Phones are already available imported in Malaysia. The OnePlus One sells at RM1069 and the Xiaomi Mi4 from RM1098 Officially both phones come at the same Price though of around 1100RM.
Offering a reasonable price in the market, Xiaomi Mi4 can be considered the best smart phone comparing to others of the same range. A lot of improvements have been made comparing to the previous version of Xiaomi Mi series, and in this review we will put Xiaomi Mi4 vs Oneplus One – another relatively known smart phone by a well-known Chinese manufacturer, on a scale to see how the two so-called “flagship killer of 2014” perform.
Xiaomi Mi4 Vs OnePlus One Design
Both phones have impressive, modern and youthful design. As Xiaomi is known as “Chinese Apple”, Mi4 design has a familiar feeling to that of iPhone. Xiaomi Mi4, however, gives off a fresh feeling for Xiaomi users since it has new touches on the phone, especially with the stainless frame instead of plastic ones. This is a big plus since its predecessors somehow look not as elegant with their colorful but not shiny metallic frames.
Xiaomi Mi4 looks like a high end smart phone. The phone has significant craftsmanship which leaves you in awe everytime you look at it. Moreover, the model is available in black and white color with a wide range of back cover options. Oneplus One is amazing with its bezel borders already. The phone is really fashionable with a lot of choices for cover material. You can choose between bamboo, denim style and many more to fit your personal taste and easily make your phone stand out from others.
Oneplus One is 160g in weight and is a little bit heavier than Xiaomi Mi4 (149g) and is a little bigger with the dimensions of 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm, while Xiaomi Mi4 has the size of 139.2 x 68.5 x 8.9 mm. However, with both phones being the same 8.9 mm thick, they all fit easily in users’ hands.
Winner: tie. Both phones have unique design details such as shiny metallic frame and are very light weight. Oneplus One has a bigger screen so it has bigger dimensions, but these are not much of a matter since Xiaomi Mi4 is just a tad smaller.
Display – Xiaomi Mi4 Vs OnePlus One
Both the OnePlus One and the Xiaomi Mi4 come with Full HD Displays with 1080p Resolution. The One Plus One Display is with 5.5 inch significantly larger then the Mi4’s screen of 5.0 inch.
With the display size of 5 inches and pixel density of 441 ppi, Xiaomi Mi4 seems to have better viewing quality. Although the screen is a bit smaller than that of Oneplus One, the higher pixel density shows that Xiaomi has a more accurate display, since the Oneplus One has a 5.5’’ screen but the pixel density is just 401 ppi. With high pixel density the text on each product appears crystal clear, and both of them have IPS panel, multitouch feature and the resolution of Full HD. A lot of enhances are done for more vibrant color display on Xiaomi Mi4. Xiaomi M4 has Corning Gorilla Glass as screen protection, the same as Oneplus One.
Winner: Xiaomi Mi4. Although Oneplus One has a bigger screen resolution, the higher pixel density takes the win for Xiaomi Mi4. Moreover, Xiaomi Mi4 is said to produce impressive graphics and is extremely smooth to operate. Oneplus One, on the other hand, has some minor problems such as yellow screen.
Performance – Xiaomi Mi4 Vs OnePlus One
When it comes to configuration, both phones are equipped with Snapdragon 801 chipset and Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 processor, the latest of the series. 3GB RAM and 16GB (or 32 GB depending on the version) are also similar traits of the two products. Oneplus One and Mi4 can perform excellently at high speed and giving you the most enjoyable experience ever. Running on the system of Android, the interface of MIUI and CyanogenMod 11s gives users a lot of interesting features. There is one SIM slot only on each phone, and the two do not support memory card either. Therefore users have to manage with limited ROM.
In Antutu tests the Xiaomi Mi4 seems to perform better then the OnePlusOne. In all test the Mi4 phone gets higher benchmarks points. In every day usage the differences should not be too signifcant though.
Xiaomi Mi4 vs OnePlus One Antutu
For battery, Oneplus One has a little higher capacity, being 3100mAH while Mi4’s is 3080mAh. Both are non-removable. The two can stand for long hours without consuming much power, and that is great for users who tend to work or play all day with their phones.
Winner: Tie. Both are great products for their performance, and there are only slight differences between their configurations.
Xiaomi Mi4 Vs OnePlus One – Camera
Both models have a 13MP main camera with a lot of similar photo taking features such as auto focus. Dual Led flash is equipped on both phones, and both of them produce good quality photos. Xiaomi has equipped Mi4 with Sony IMX214 13.0MP camera with an aperture of f/1.8. When you do a quick snap of things, High Dynamic Flash and Refocus together with AF Object Tracking modes of the camera will help produce photos with clear details and high contrast.
Xiaomi Mi4 Camera Samples
Oneplus One has a slightly better Sony IMX214 13.0MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and 6 physical lenses. These make photos taken on Oneplus One being high quality and less noise, and vibrant in colors. The front camera of Xiaomi Mi4 is a 8MP one and is super amazing with video calling and selfie taking. The front camera on Oneplus One, however, has a smaller resolution of 5MP. Both support video recording of HD resolution.
One Plus One Camera Samples
Winner: Xiaomi Mi4. Although Oneplus One has better aperture, Xiaomi Mi4 has better front camera. Since self-portrait taking is a trend nowadays, users may want to get phones with more high quality front camera for themselves.
Software – Xiaomi Mi4 Vs OnePlus One
With the interface of MIUI V6 – a customized version of Android, Mi4 users are offered a wide range of useful and interesting features. Moreover, a lot of privacy protection such as Kingsoft and Wall-E are already installed for the security of your data. Unique themes and locks creens are provided, which takes users’ experience with a smart phone to a higher level.
Flat Look MIUI V6 Screenshots

Oneplus One’s interface is CyanogenMod 11 which allows users to customize their own theme. CyanogenMod receives a lot of love in their updates. Additionally, the transition effects when sliding between screens can be changed which is extremely amazing and cool.Apps icons are also easy to sort. You can also customize which apps access what kind of data for your privacy protection. Screencast allows you to record what happens on the screen, and that is a very interesting feature. Both phones support NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi Direct, LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot. Oneplus One has Bluetooth v4.1 connectivity while Xiaomi Mi4 has the earlier 4.0 version.
Winner: Tie. Both phones have interesting and useful, easy-to-manage features on the customized interface of Android. Depending on the style, users can choose to go with either MIUI or CyanogenMod since they are all user-friendly.
Xiaomi Mi4 Advantages
In Comparison with the OnePlus One the Xiaomi MI4 misses NFC. The Mi4 makes up for that with IR Blaster, with which you can use the Xiaomi Phone as a universal remote. The smaller 5.0 inch display makes it easier to handle and to pocket. As mentioned above the same resolution, means that is has a higher pixel density then the OnePlus One.
The Mi4 has also a smaller battery with 3080mAH. With the smaller display that still means though that the battery life should be significantly longer then on the OPO. Also the Xiaomi Mi4 sports an 8MP Front Camera and F1.8 aperture, so it should be better in low light photography.
OnePlus One Advantages
The One PLus One comes with a larger display of 5.5 inch then the Xiaomi Mi4. This might be an advantage to some users. Users are allowed to root the device and still keep the warranty by OnePlus. In comparison with the Mi4 the OPO also has NFC. In our tests the NFC was of limited use since its only working with certain systems.
Some Users might feel that Cyanogenmod OS is an advantage above MIUI. This is really up to personal preference though.
While the OPO is a fantastic phone, users should keep in mind also how hard it is to get one at the moment.
Xiaomi Mi4 Vs OnePlus One Winner Xiaomi Mi4.
Although the phone is not yet to be released in Malaysia, the good improvements and popularity of the Mi series ensure that Mi4 will be a wonderful phone. Moreover, with upgraded camera and high end configuration, Xiaomi Mi4 offers users a model that combines power with endurance. Xiaomi Mi4 is also waterproof, which is a feature Oneplus One does not have. Oneplus One, while having a lot of similar features, how hard it is to get and still has some minor details such as lower quality for front camera and display that make it not as significant as Mi4.
Based on this test we would be taking the Xiaomi Mi4 over the OnePLus One. We find the stainless steel of the Xiaomi Mi4 and smaller screen preferable to the plastic and bigger OnePlus One. The F1.8 Aperture promises better Low Light Photography and while the NFC one the OPO was working limited the Xiaomi MI4 as universal remote is a nice gadget for everyday.
Another factor might be costs. Already now OPO accessoires like the Bamboo Cover sell for USD 49. Xiaomi’s back covers will surely sell cheaper and look very good as well.
We have a Sample of the Xiaomi Mi4 coming to us. So stay tuned for the direct comparison of them in realtime here on the Blog.

Meizu MX4 LTE targeting Xiaomi Mi4 with 320USD price
Meizu MX4 LTE targeting Xiaomi Mi4 with 320USD price
Xiaomi is not the only Chinese brand with affordable FlagShip killer Smartphones. Meizu is about to launch the Meizu MX4 in the beginning of September at the same price as Xiaomi Mi4. The Meizu MX4 will be priced at 1999 Yuan thats ca RM1040. The Xiaomi Mi4 is still only available via Import here in Malaysia.
The Meizu MX4 is directly competing with Xiaomi’s Flagship Mi4 in specs, hardware and pricing. The MX4 will come with a 5.5 inch display with a 2K 2560 x 1536 resolution. With this impressive resolution the Meizu MX4 display is even slightly better then the LG G3 display at 2560 x 1440. Also with 543 ppi they have a higher pixel density then the LG G3 at 435ppi. This is definitely an impressive 2K 5.5 inch display on the Meizu MX4!
Newest Rumors about the Meizu Mx4 even suggest that the device will come with an Sony 20.7 mega-pixel Rear Camera. The current Meizu MX3 comes with an 8MP Sony Rear Camera. This would definitely be a very impressive update.
For the Rest of the MX4 Flagship Specs we hear 3GB of RAM, Samsung Exynos Procssor, 8MP Front Camera, Fingerprint Scanner and Meizu newest OS Flyme 4.0.
Earlier this year Meizu also announced that they will launch the Meizu MX4 in two variants. One would be the Flagship Killer described above and the other one would probably come with 5inch 1080p display, instead of 2K resolution. This One might be even cheaper. In any case the MX4 will be roughly the same pricing as Xiaomi Mi4 and One PLus One.
Same as the Mi4 the Meizu MX4 will come with LTE Connectivity. Probably in the first launch version only for chinese LTE Bands. Meizu already announced though that they want to launch the MX4 phone and other meizu phones in USA this year.
Since Malaysia is a very attractive market we might see the Meizu MX4 launch officially here also. In any Case it will be available through importers here very fast.
The Meizu MX4 is definitely directly targeted at the Xiaomi MI4 and One Plus One. And Meizu might just succeded with that strategy. While Meizu is not very famous yet in Malaysia the Meizu MX3 is a very good smartphone that does not need to hide.
We believe more choice and more competition is always good for the customers in the end.
What do you think can the Meizu MX4 beat the Xiaomi Mi4? Would you buy one at same pricing here in Malaysia? What do you think about the increasing competiton of Chinese Smartphone Makers?
Xiaomi Mi3 16GB for RM734
Update: Deal Ended 09.08
Xiaomi Mi 3 Deal – Limited time offer Cheaper then on Xiaomi
Most of us should know about the Xiaomi Mi3 by now. Even with the Xiaomi Mi4 launched the Xiaomi MI3 is definitely a very hot smartphone in Malaysia.
- Xiaomi Mi3 16GB for RM734 with Lazada Voucher “ShopLazada”
For under RM800 the XiaomI Mi3 is definitely very interesting. Even on the official Xiaomi Website the Price is at RM769 and only Preorder. On other sites like Satugadget or DirectD Importers the Price is at RM759. So RM734 is defitinitely the cheapest available in Malaysia right now for the Xiaomi Mi3.
The Xiaomi Mi3 comes with a Snapdragon 800 at 2.3 Ghz and Adreno 330 GPU built on Krait Technology. On top of that you get 2GB of RAM, 5inch Full HD Display and 13MP Camera.
Even in Comparison with other Flagship Smartphones like the S5 it can definitely compete with 50% cheaper.
In general Xiaomi has gotten a lot of praise for the Xiaomi Mi3. You can check Reviews here and here.
The only critic points might be that the internal memory is non extendable and you have to cope with 16GB. Also the new successor the Xiaomi Mi4 has launched in China already. My opinion is though that the Xiaomi Mi3 at 50% cheaper then MI3 and OnePlusOne is still a very good deal.

Update Malaysia 18.10: A check of our local Database Sirim Shows, that a new XIaomi phone with 4G LTE and 802.11ac WiFi has been already verified for Malaysia. The device carries the number 2014715 and we are not 100% sure if its the Xiaomi MI4 or Redmi Note 4G
We checked on the TEENA Database in China, and it shows that the MI4 models have the 201421X model number, while the Redmi Note models come with 201402X model numbers. Xiaomi’s MI4 Flagship and the Redmi 1S 4G sport only TDD-LTE that is mainly used in China and India. That been said, it its very likely that the Xiaomi Redmi Note will launch soon in Malaysia.
Originally the device launched in China on August 12th the LTE Xiaomi Redmi Note with TD-LTE. Two weeks later Xiaomi launched the new Xiaomi Note with FD-LTE on August 26th. On the FD-LTE version of the Note users will also get WCDMA 3G support, because its designed to be used on China Unicom. Now it is confirmed that the Xiaomi Redmi Note LTE will work on Malaysian LTE.

Xiaomi also modified the Xiaomi Redmi Note LTE version compared to the 3G version. The biggest change on the new Xiaomi Redmi Note comes with a Snapdragon 400 at 1.6 Ghz instead of the Octa Core MTK Processor. Also the case is slightly lighter 10 gramm and only single SIm Card. The Rest of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G stays the same with 13 Megapixel Camera, 2GB Ram and impressive battery life of 3200 mAH. That is necessary because of the Big Screen of 5.5 inch.
Xiaomi will keep the pricelevel the same for new Xiaomi Redmi Note LTE at 999 Yuan in China. It will sell at 229SGD in Singapore, that will translate a price of RM598 in Malaysia. According to Customer Service of Xiaomi the Redmi Note 4G will launch in Middle of November in Malaysia. And it was confirmed on Xiaomi Malaysia Facebook Fanpage that they will launch a new device on 17.11.
How will you decide? Do you rather keep Octa Core MTK Processor and Dual Sim and 3G? Or would you switch to Snapdragon 400, Single Sim and get 4G LTE?

Xiaomi MI Router Unboxing
Xiaomi MI Router – Excellent WIFI Signal
We installed the Xiaomi Router in our office. And we tested the signal really from everywhere. No matter how many walls in between we still had a ver good WIfi Signal. So far so good. But a lot of other cheaper routers have good signal also.
So we took this Test a bit further. We could even leave our office, went down the stairs and sit on the corner coffee. And you know what? We were using our own Oizoioi Office WIFI. Even opposite the street at the bus stop the WIFI was still working with the Xiaomi Router.
And the Signal was not only strong, but the Xiaomi Router provides also speed and stable signal. Especially in Office Environment that is very important to never loose the WIFI in important calls with clients etc. But with this price you can use the Router easily at home and have stable signal.
Xiaomi Router – Convenient Router app
To setup your MI Router you need to go to the MiWifi.com homepage and download the Router App. The Download is mostly in Chinese, but even our non Chinese intern could easily install the router app without problems. The Xiaomi Router App is available for Mac, Androud and Windows and other operating systems also.
With your Xiaomi Router app, you can check see your files, check your storage and see who is connected to your WIFI. Also there are a ton of useful features and plugins available that help you downloading videos for example.
With one of the best plugins, if you use a Mac and Xiaomi Router you can connect the Mac Time Machine and Router and scheduled backups are directly saved to the 1TB of internal memory on the MI Router. This is possible with really every external memory solution. The ease of setup with the Xiaomi MI router and 1TB storage make this a very feasible option for all Mac Xiaomi Users.
Xiaomi Router – Global Connection
We installed the Xiaomi Router App on our smartphones, Macbook Air and even tablet. Then connected the Router to our Mi Account. That means customers can easily login to their router from everywhere, even if not connected to their own WIFI.
It does not matter where you are on, via 3G or any other WIFI and your Xiaomi details you have access to your Files, check details and make backups. Even while you are travelling and you make often backups this is easily possible with the Xiaomi Router and APP.

Xiaomi Router NFC
Yes the Xiaomi Mi Router comes also with NFC ( Near Field Communication. This is quite an interesting decision by XIaomi, since they decided not to include NFC on their new Xiaomi Mi4.
NFC, is a short range wireless link which uses very little power. It evolved from Radioe Frequency Identification (RFID). Small amounts of data can be easily transferred from two devices close to each other, without draining the battery. Unlike with Bluetooth the devices are not synced and no battery is charged.
The Xiaomi MI Router has NFC, that means you connect to your WIFI just by tapping it with your NFC smartphone. That is a very useful feature on a router, so you dont have to give your WIFI password to all your friends and guests.
Xiaomi Router Comparison with other Routers
Xiaomi Router Price – Impressive
The Xiaomi Router Specs and the hardware you get is alone well worth the price of RM320. Combined with the Router App the Xiaomi Router is really a Killer Deal and well worth to equip your office.
You can access all your 1TB of files easily from where ever you are and make backups any time. This combined with incredibly strong WIFI signal makes the purchase very worth to buy.
Xiaomi Router Summary
Overall we really like our Xiaomi Router. The Design is awesome especially compared to average other routers on the market. The Price is very attractive at RM320.
Our WIFI Signal was strong and stable. Probably you need some network/router experience to install it, but even our intern was able to do it. The Xiaomi Router App for global connectivity to your files and Backups is a great feature of the Xiaomi Router. Xiaomi should really work on translating the Menus to English though for better user experience.
Overall we are very happy with our Xiaomi Mi Router !
Xiaomi Mi4 NFC Missing – Because only 1% Use it! Do you agree?
Xiaomi Mi4 NFC Missing – Because only 1% Use it! Do you agree?
The New Xiaomi MI4 lacks NFC. In a recent interview Xiaomi Lei Jun explained this surprising decision. He said the new Xiaomi Mi4 Phone does not have NFC – Because people simply dont use NFC at all.
When the XIaomI Mi4 launched two weeks ago most of us were stunned. Xiaomi improved the design, specs and even incorporated higher quality materials. With Snapdragon 801 at 2.5GHZ, 3GB of RAM and a Price Level of RM1099 the Xiaomi Mi4 is a true Flagship Killer. The only real competiton at this Price Level might be the One Plus One Smartphone.
Those of us with a eye for detail though were surprised that the new Xiaomi Phone is completely lacking NFC.
NFC, Near Field Communication, is a very short range and little power wireless link with which small amounts of data can be transferred between two devices close to each other. Its evolved from Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Unlike with bluetooth the devices dont need to be synced, and because its very low power it does not drain the battery at all. Especially for doing payments conveniently or sharing data it is a fantastic technology.
That being said, NFC is an fantastic technology that most of us hardly ever use. NFC could be used for a lot of daily task and make them easier but to be honest I cant remember when I used it the last time on my current phone.
According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun only 1% of Xiaomi Mi3 and MI2A customers actually use NFC feature. Thats why the Xiaomi Mi4 does not get NFC.
What is your opinion? Do you agree that most people dont use NFC? Do you use it? Does it prevent you from buyig the new Xiaomi Mi4 or do you not really care?
