Counterpoint Research has once announced that Samsung was leader all over the world in terms of both mobile phones and smartphone shipments in the Q2 of 2015. Specifically, the company was able to get 21% of units shipped in the period of time from April to June while Apple was the runner-up when accounting for 14%. Huawei was placed third with 9%, and then Xiaomi with 5% and ZTE with 5% were able to complete the top five.

In case of including feature phones, Samsung was ranked first with 19% when it came to global mobile phone shipments in the quarter 2. Next places belonged to Apple with 10%, Huawei with 7%, Nokia with 6% and ZTE, Xiaomi, TCL (Alcatel) and LG with the same 4%.

Even though Samsung could be the smartphone leader in most continents of the world, North America still saw Apple as its leader due to its 31% share. Meanwhile, Samsung had to take the second position with 24% and LG third with 15% of the North American market.

Now, if we do not care about the brands, we can see that smartphones themselves have accounted for 75% of mobile phone shipments globally in Q2. And 50% of them were shipped with 4G LTE support. The United States and China were able to make up 67% of the market for phones equipped with LTE in Q2, 2015.

Those are some outstanding numbers recorded in the Q2 report. How about Q3?

There has been no official report for this period of time, but Samsung’s profit in the Q3 of 2015 is predicted to be about 4.5 billion dollars, which is less than the Q2 and less than what this giant expects. Though, Samsung is said to still be able to receive 42.04 billion dollars in the third quarter of the year. Not a bad number at all!

However, can it help Samsung maintain their position in the Q2? Or will Apple with iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus launch reverse the situation? Let’s wait and see!

According to recent news, Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will bee launched on October 15, 2015.

If you remember, Motorola introduced 3 products a few weeks ago. They are Moto X Style, Moto X Play and Moto G 2015, belonging to mid-range and high-end series and receiving a lot of support from consumers.

Though, despite the debut of Moto X and Moto G happening not long ago, it seems like the company still wants to continue making people surprised by a new handset. Some reliable sources have recently revealed some pictures and specs of the upcoming Motorola smartphone. And it is known as Motorola DROID Turbo 2.

In terms of design, DROID Turbo 2 looks similar to it predecessor. However, the back surface will be covered by metal material. Meanwhile, the rear camera will also be protected by alloy like the camera of Moto X and Moto G.

As for the Motorola DROID Turbo 2 specs, it has a 5.4-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip, 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of ROM. Besides, there are a 21 mega-pixel main snapper and a 3,760mAh battery to be on-board. Specially, buyers can order and choose between wooden, leather, plastic, etc. back cover via the Moto Maker system of Motorola. So, with such features, DROID Turbo 2 can become the Motorola flagship this year as well as the strongest device in the Motorola house.

About the DROID Turbo 2 availability, it is said that the phone will only be sold exclusively by Verizon in the United States. Meanwhile, Motorola will release an international version of DROID Turbo 2 with another name known as Moto X Force. Many people assume that the company wants to make Moto X a premium smartphone brand on the market.

If you like this guy, you will have to wait a bit more since the first Motorola DROID Turbo 2 units is going to debut on October 15, 2015, the same launch date of DROID Turbo last year. In addition, Motorola DROID Turbo 2 price will be around $400 (RM1,757). To be honest, that’s quite a hefty price!

The upcoming phablet Nexus 6P has been leaked with many details and pictures. You may doubt but this time, everything seems to be correct since the information was shown in captured photos  from a presentation’s slides of Nexus 6P.

Looking at the pics, we easily notice that Nexus 6P will sport a metal cover with Gorilla Glass 4 for protection and big speakers on the front surface of the phone.

As for the Nexus 6P specs, there are a 5.7-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560) screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (V2.1) chip paired with Adreno 430 and a 3,450mAh battery built in the handset. Due to being the newest product of Google, Nexus 6P will definitely run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, which also means that the “Google Now on Tap” function will be on-board as well. It can let you know info of the movie you are watching. For example, if you are watching “Gone with the wind” at the moment by your Nexus 6P, you can tap, hold and wait a few seconds for Google Now to provide you with the movie’s details.

The slides also hint that Nexus 6P has new features enabling the phone’s camera to work better in the dark and focus faster. At last, it is coming with 4 options over the color. They are white, black, gold, and aluminum (or silver). Besides, you can choose between 32, 64 and 128GB of internal storage. 

Unfortunately, we received nothing related to Nexus 6P price and availability. Yet, you will not have to wait long as the Nexus 6P launch is very close now. It is announced to happen on September 29, 2015 along with Nexus 5X and Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS at an event held by Google. Just one more day to go 😀 !

It seems like most smartphones produced this year have focused much on battery life since it is also what a lot of people nowadays care about. And of course, Doogee company cannot ignore the trend, which has led to the birth of Doogee T6.

Looking at the Doogee T6 design, what are your opinions? Is it pretty enough to make you proud of it?

Before Doogee T6, there have been some other handsets equipped with big batteries such as Doogee Homtom HT6 (sporting a 6,250mAh batt) and Doogee S6000 (having a 6,000mAh one). So, this time, we are not very surprised when aware that the Doogee T6 specs include a 6,000mAh battery supporting Pump Express quick-charging technology. Though, the speed of charging has not been unveiled yet. Anyhow, with such huge capacity, you can use the phone for a couple of days. Besides, the device features 2GB of RAM, a MediaTek MT6735 chipset, and a combo of  a 2 mega-pixel selfie and a 8 mega-pixel camera.

As for the Doogee T6 price and availability, no words have been made officially. However, we guess that it will be an affordable one, based on its package of specs (except for the batt, other Doogee T6 specs are not very special) and recent Doogee smartphones. Yet, what do you think about Doogee T6 price in Malaysia?

In conclusion, we are glad to see Doogee T6 to be listed on upcoming Doogee phone list this year. According to some news source, T6 will be launched in November, 2015 and expected to go on sale in the next weeks. It surely will satisfy those who like their phones to last more than just 24 hours.

Well, Doogee is developing day by day, trying to release more products meeting the consumers’ needs, especially in terms of long battery life. Hopefully, Doogee T6 will bring the firm more success at the end of this year!

Next month, on October 6, 2015, Microsoft will officially launch their new devices, including 3 Windows 10 smartphones, a band and a tablet!

Though the event has not happened yet, some information about the phones leaked from an internal presentation is being spread all over the internet. Specifically, the smartphones mentioned in the leak are Microsoft Lumia 950, Lumia 950XL and Lumia 550.

As for the Lumia 950XL specs, there will be an up to 5.7-inch Quad HD (aka 2K) screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC processor, and 32GB of expandable storage. Moreover, it sports an Iris scanner, a USB Type-C port and 3,300mAh battery equipped with Qualcomm QuickCharge support and Qi wireless charging. Besides, a 20 mega-pixe PureView camera with triple-LED flash and a 5 mega-pixel front-facing shooter will be on-board as well. And of course, the handset will run on Windows 10 Continuum. Additionally, phone users can connect 950XL to a full-size monitor through a dedicated dock. That sounds great!

In terms of Microsoft Lumia 950 specs, it is smaller with a 5.2-inch screen but still beautiful with Quad HD resolution. The machine is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset and 3,000mAh battery, less than its sibling Lumia 950XL. Apart from those differences, other Lumia 950 specs match Lumia 950XL ones.

Finally, it is Microsoft Lumia 550 which will come as an affordable Windows 10 phone. Lumia 550 specs include a 5-inch HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz quad-core chip (still unknown), 1GB RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage. On the other hand, there are a 5MP main cam with LED flash and 2MP secondary snapper, and 1,905mAh battery.

Well, they all seem great in terms of both specs and design. Nevertheless, we notice that the phablet Lumia 950XL may cause some worries since it is run by Snapdragon 810 chip, which is quite “famous” for heating issues. Anyhow, we think Microsoft has been aware of that and found a good way to deal with it.

We know that Samsung has a sub-brand called Samsung Galaxy A whose machines are equipped with metal cover. It also has marked the age of Samsung phone design. Currently, we have Samsung Galaxy A8 as the latest device of this series, and it is said that A8 will have a totally brand new sibling known as Samsung Galaxy O5, the first member of the series Galaxy O as well.

According to many news sources, Galaxy O5 and Galaxy O7 are going to be the first products of the new Galaxy O series announced by Samsung. They are mid-range phones and will mainly aim at those who want affordable handsets. Though Samsung Galaxy O5 and Galaxy O7 designs have not been officially confirmed, they are claimed to look like a Samsung Galaxy A smartphone. If so, do you think that they can draw much attention from the consumers?

In addition, some Samsung Galaxy O5 specs have been leaked, including a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280) display, an Exynos 3475 quad-core 1.3GHz chip, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. We should wait more and hopefully, Samsung company will release more details of those two new members in the near future.

To recap, we think that Samsung is planning to approach more people in general by creating a new mid-range phone series. Nonetheless, we wonder if the phone price tag is really going to be friendly-budget, and even if it is so, will the cost be worth the specs?

We have heard about Xiaomi Mi4c for a while and now, you do not have to wait any longer since the Xiaomi Mi4c launch happened, introducing a smartphone with powerful specs and a cool price for consumers. Check it out!

Some people think that releasing Xiaomi Mi4c at this point in time is not really a wise choice of the company because it will have to compete with other premium flagships from big brands. Earlier rumors have suggested that, Xiaomi is trying to expand their product lines, planning their first laptop in 2016. Recently, Inventec, a Taiwanese manufacturing company has unveiled that they have started working on the Xiaomi Laptop.

Richard Lee, present CEO of Inventec, had an interview with the press and stated that his company is developing the first ever Xiaomi-made laptop, which is expected to be launched during the very first quarter of 2016. As a business partner, Lee shared that this movement is a very wise one, since Xiaomi is already growing strong in the smartphone industry with over 200 million users in and outside of China.

All we know before about the Mi Laptop is just a leaked picture of a laptop device having the “Xiaomi” name on its screen. All we know up to now is still the same (:D) plus the confirmation from Inventec CEO.

Much supportive as Lee to the launching of this Xiaomi Laptop, he revealed that he is a bit concerned about the business strategy Xiaomi is planning this time. Usually, in order to be more competitive and attractive to users, Xiaomi will set a very affordable price and low revenue. Their target is to sell as many units as possible and gain more profits from selling accessories. Whether this would work with Xiaomi Laptop is still a question.

Xiaomi laptop will, of course, run on Microsoft Windows as its default OS. However, Xiaomi may even launch the device with its own Linux-based OS. Like Android, Linux is much more easier to customized.

However, we already made our guessing about the upcoming device. We suppose Xiaomi laptop display will be a 15” screen at least. Xiaomi laptop may sport 500GB SSD internal storage. However, it would be nice if Xiaomi makes it for 1TB option. The device should have at least an Intel Core i5 as its processor. The last information we had included also 16GB RAM, but lets see on that part.
