Caterpillar S60 – World’s first smartphone with thermal camera built right in the machine

Caterpillar’s new rugged S60 smartphone has been announced, drawing much people’s attention because there are thermal imaging sensors built right in the machine, not just an accessory. Yes, it is the first device in the world to do that. Speaking more specifically, CAT S60’s thermal cam is developed by FLIR and with the help of Lepton sensor, FLIR shooter can see in total darkness along with a standard 13 MP rear snapper.

In addition, it sports “a strengthened die cast steel frame inside, and is designed to exceed the military’s 810G drop test specifications”. In other words, CAT S60’s 4.7-inch HD display can survive a drop onto hard concrete from about 1.7 meters. And furthermore, the CAT S60 is waterproof and able to work underwater for about an hour at a depth of about 5 meters. So, no need to worry about it during rainy days, right?!

Other Caterpillar S60 specs include 32 GB of internal storage, 3 GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chip, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, a 5 MP selfie camera, plus a big 3,800 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy S7 vs LG G5: Exynos 8890 vs Snapdragon 820 on benchmark

Well, no doubt both phones look breathtakingly beautiful, so they are all true beauties in our hearts. As a result, we would like focus more on their strengths inside, coming from hardware, to pick out the champion here. First of all, we want to talk about Samsung Galaxy S7 that is powered by the new Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 (4 x 2.3GHz + 4 x 1.6GHz) chipset. However, Galaxy S7 has a larger batt compared to the G5’s 2,800mAh cell and more advanced tech IP68 rating to be dust and water resistant. At this point, maybe you will think Samsung Galaxy S7 is the winner. Nonetheless, there is still one thing left we have not mentioned yet: the processor.

Lately, both Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon chip have been brought into a few benchmark tests to measure their capabilities. And the result showed that LG G5 with SD820 is more powerful than Samsung Galaxy S7 with Exynos 8890. Nevertheless, in general, they are much more excellent than other chips so far. About ASUS ZenFone 3 specs, the handset is said to come with 2 variants coded as Z012D and Z010DD. The first one is will have a pretty common 5.5-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 650 chipset, a 13MP rear camera, 3GB of RAM paired with 32GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the other model, Z010DD, will pack a bigger 5.9-inch HD screen, a Snapdragon 615 chip, 3GB of RAM and the same 32GB ROM. So, to make the comparison more specific and clearer, we would like to only take Z012D into consideration because it boasts the same size as Lenovo Vibe X3 display, which also measures 5.5 inches with Full HD resolution.

Apart from the similar screens, other Lenovo Vibe X3 specs are much different. Specifically, it uses a Snapdragon 808 processor, 32/64GB ROM (expandable up to 128GB), and 3GB RAM to be basic. They are just a bit stronger than the Zen 3. Yet, if it comes to camera comparison, the Lenovo product is surely the champion here thanks to its 21MP main shooter working with an 8MP selfie one.

ASUS ZenFone 3 VS Lenovo Vibe X3: Price and availability

No doubt both phones are very good machines that can do any task you want. In case of focusing more on photography, the Lenovo product will be an ideal choice. First, let’s take a look at the Galaxy S7. We have to say it did not let us down. Although the design is said to be borrowed much from it predecessor Galaxy S6, S7 still has some awesome improvements such as a “flatter fingerprint scanner and less pronounced camera hump” making it even more premium and beautiful. In terms of Samsung Galaxy S7 specs, there are a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED 2K screen (577 ppi) protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, a 3,000mAh battery, TouchWiz UI based on Android 6.0, a Snapdragon 820/Exynos 8890 chip, 32/64GB ROM (+200GB), and 4GB RAM. G5 is considered as a great first mainstream modular handset built with a “fluid metal” body and “beveled glass” on the front surface. Reports from Pocketnow have suggested that, Asus will be choosing Computex 2016 (starting from March 31 in Taipei) to release their newest Zenfone generation. Asus Zenfone 3 is very likely to come with at least 2 variants, with the code names Z012D and Z010DD, both with decent specs and very affordable price tags.

Talking about Asus Zenfone 3 specs, please keep in mind that the information we know for now can always be changed at last minute until their official release.
