Quad-core Processor: Things you need to know about
Today, we are bombarded with tons of different smartphones in the market. Also, different tech jargons have become more widespread. One such term is “quad-core processor”. So what is a quad-core processor? How does it work? Let’s find out today!
Quad-core processor in layman’s terms
By definition, a quad-core processor is a chip, with four independent units called “cores”. Its purpose is to read and execute central processing unit’s (CPU’s) instructions. These instructions include adding, moving data, and branching. So, to put it simply, it allows your phones to run apps smoothly. We can see that the processor is an extremely important part of the phone already.
As we said before, a quad-core processor has four independent units called “cores”. Each core will operate in conjunction with other circuits such as cache, memory management, and input/output (I/O) ports. Each individual core can run multiple instructions at the same time. Thus, they increase the overall speed of programs compatible with parallel processing. These cores are usually integrated onto a single semiconductor wafer or onto multiple semiconductor wafers within a single IC (integrated circuit) package.
How can quad-core processor help?
So, it’s quite clear that, the more cores a chip has, the more processing power there is. Quad-core can run better than dual-core and single-core, and will lose out to hexa-core and octa-core, for example. However, one common misconception is that, a quad-core processor will run exactly two times faster than a dual-core processor, and four times faster than a single-core processor. It is definitely better and faster, but not by that exact margin. There are some factors affecting this: the habit of users, the nature of the programs, and the compatibility of the processor with other hardware in the system.
Quad-core and higher multi-core processors have become common in computing for both PC, smartphones and tablets. Quad-core processor has become the bare minimum of smartphones and tablets from the mid-range up. Now that you know what a quad-core processor is, you will have one less thing to worry about when buying technology devices.
Huawei P9 problems and how to solve them!
Nothing is flawless right? Huawei P9 – the latest flagship from Huawei, still has some problems just like many other smartphones! Today we’ll show you the most common Huawei P9 problems and how to solve them!
1. Problem No.1: Phone doesn’t update properly
The first one on this list of Huawei P9 problems is: phone doesn’t update properly. In this case, there are any solutions. In the beginning, make sure you haven’t tapped the Pause button accidentally. If it still doesn’t work, it could be that your smartphone’s battery is not more than 20%. Because the updating process consumes a lot of battery life.
Another thing that might lead to the updating error is that you phone has been rooted before! If you have tried the solutions above but it still doesn’t work, the error could be the consequence of rooting your device. In that case, you can conduct the update by using HiSuite in the appstore. In addition, you can use Recovery Mode to bring your phone back to its original. Then you can start updating your phone normally.
2. Problem No.2: Phone doesn’t charge normally
Bad charging is one of the common Huawei P9 problems. Either the phone doesn’t charge or it doesn’t charge in a normal way. In this case, here are the solutions: First, restart your phone and charge it again. Then, if it remains troublesome, take a look at the charger and the cable to see if there is any damage, any obstacle in the charging port or does the small tab insides the port doesn’t stay at the right the right place. Another way is try replacing the current charger with another charger. If it works, then you have to buy a new charger. If it still doesn’t, try wiping the cache partition in the phone’s setting. If it STILL doesn’t work, I’m afraid you have to have your phone inspected by Huawei’s customer service.
3. Problem No.3: Unable to view files or photos when connected to PC
This is another common issue among Huawei P9 problems. But in fact, this issue is very easy to solve! First up, remember to unlock your phone whenever you connect it to your computer. Only when you unlock your phone are you allowed to view the files on your laptop. There are cases when you need to use the photos mode in order to view them.
4. Problem No.4: Apps close automatically when phone is locked
This is Huawei’s effort to help users save the phone battery. But in fact, it’s annoying sometimes when you leave your phone for a while then turn back finding your current task automatically closed. But it’s easy to solve this problem. Go to Phone Manager > xx% remaining > Protected apps. In this section, you can choose which apps you wanna save when you lock your phone. But you can choose only 5 apps maximum.
5. Problem No.5: Camera doesn’t open or freezes while in use
This is one of the most annoying Huawei P9 problems. In this case, try closing the camera apps then open it again. A more successful way is to clear the cache of your phone’s camera by going to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage. If the same problem still happens, restart your phone or try factory reset: Advanced settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.

What is RETINA DISPLAY in Apple devices?
Many of you could have heard about Retina display. It is commonly featured in Apple devices. However, do you know what it is? Take a look at this article for better understanding.
What is Retina display?
Actually, different from quad-HD display or ultra-HD display, Retina display is a market term, not a technical term. However, there’s still a way to define it! Retina display is a display on a computing device whose pixel density is high enough so that the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels. Another way to describe retina display is that the image on that display has no differences from the image in the real world, or at least there are some differences that the human eye cannot recognize!
Technically speaking, scientists has proven that people with over 20-20 vision are able to recognize the pixelation effect. But in fact, there has not been any record of such cases. Currently in the smartphone industry, Retina display is a trademarked term of Apple. So if other smartphone companies want to feature such display technology in their products, they have to ask Apple for permission.
So how many pixels does a Retina display have?
The resolution of Retina display depends on the screen size. Normally, the resolution in smartphone display are shown in the format of [number of pixels]x [number of pixels]. But with Retina display, the resolution is expressed in the form of pixel density. This makes sense actually, because an 8-inch full HD screen is more poor-looking than a 5.5-inch full HD screen. If you smartphone has a large screen but low pixel density, the display is still disappointing!
Even when we define Retina display by mentioning the pixel density, there are still many ways to classify this technology. It also depends on the distance between the display and our eyes! Normally, the pixel density are 326ppi (pixel per inch) for smartphones, as we tend to hold our phones the closest to our eyes. For tablets, it’s 264ppi and for laptops, it’s 220ppi.

The next spots belong to ZUK Z2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 5. The best-selling smartphone of the world – S7 Edge- is just in the 7th place with 134599 scores. The remaining slots go to iPhone 6S, ZTE Axone 7, and iPhone SE respectively.

These devices are harshly competing with each other. The scores of them are very close. They’re between 131000 and 141000. Once again, congratulations to OnePlus 3. However, this phone couldn’t probably hold its positions in the next Antutu list. Because there are many powerful handsets which are gonna released soon. Window smartphone could run Cyanogen OS in the future. Thanks to this OS, Microsoft intends to take back its market share from Google. Now, let’s see how can Cyanogen OS complete with Android?
Cyanogen OS: the “rebirthed version” of Android
What is Cyanogen OS? In a simple way, it is another variant of Android. At present. there is about 50 billion people use this OS. As you know, there are some versions of Android like Touch Wiz on Samsung Galaxy or Oxygen OS on OnePlus 3. They are good all. But Cyanogen OS is reported to be the best Android version. It is even better than the basic Android OS!
First, Cyanogen OS gets a higher customization than Android. There are a lot of detailed customization from “Theme Engine”-a special mode on Cyanogen OS. You will have many free themes which are easy to change. Secondly, Cyanogen OS is more secure than Android. With this new OS, you define what a new app can and cannot do on your phone. That is very importance to keep your device safe. The next feature makes this OS more secure than Android OS is PIN Scramble. Cyanogen will arrange the number in “unlock screen”. That prevents “bad guys” to guess your password.
Thirdly, Cyanogen Os last your phone life…with a special way. Android smartphones are updated in two years, but the smartphone with Cyanogen receive the updated version in …forever.
Cyanogen OS could be the big rival of Android
