Xiaomi Mi 5 review: The camera and the audio
To continue our Xiaomi Mi 5 review yesterday, we will talk about its camera and audio quality. Take a look to see whether this phone is worth your money or not!
Xiaomi Mi 5 review: The camera
Before we go further in this Xiaomi Mi 5 review, let’s be clear that because Xiaomi Mi 5 is not promoted to be a camera phone like many other devices in the market, I do not expect too much from the camera quality of this phone. At the first sight, the 16MP main camera does a good job when there’s enough light. The Exmor-RS CMOS Sensor captures sharp details and vibrant colors (a bit over-saturated but it’s ok).
Another thing I love about this camera is how fast it takes photos. Just by tapping the shutter button, the images are captured immediately. This advantage comes from the phase detection autofocus technology installed inside. However, in HDR mode, it takes one or two seconds for the taken image to be processed before I can shoot another one. Just so you know. In low-light condition, this camera does a fair job. Photos are a bit over-brightened.
Now let’s move on to the 4MP front snapper in this Xiaomi Mi 5 review. With aperture f/2.0 and wide-angle selfie, this camera doesn’t produce bad photos when the lightning condition is good. But in low-light surroundings, just like the 16MP on the back, this camera tends to brighten the photos a little too much. So overall, if you are a common photography lover, this phone is a good choice. Now let’s consider the audio.
Xiaomi Mi 5 review: The audio
Last but not least in this Xiaomi Mi 5 review, let’s talk about the audio. Regarding this trait, this phone does not disappoint. At maximum volume, the sound is loud but at the same time there is no buzzing. I only wish that the speakers were located on the front instead of on the back. In general, Xiaomi Mi 5 is a great handset. Considering its affordable price tag (Xiaomi Mi 5 price is only RM 1500), this phone can compete with many other high-end flagships in the market.
Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime vs Sony Xperia X Performance: 3GB RAM, 4G LTE
Xiaomi against Sony? Interesting! Today let’s compare Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime vs Sony Xperia X Performance – two flagships with 3GB RAM and 4G LTE!
Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime vs Sony Xperia X Performance: 3GB RAM, 13MP camera!
First of all, let’s talk about the performance. As mentioned above, both Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime vs Sony Xperia X Performance house an ample 3GB RAM which runs the system smoothly. They also sport the same chipset: octa-core Snapdragon 820 with two quad-core processors, one clocked at 2.15GHz for heavy tasks and the other clocked at 1.6GHz for simple tasks. The performances of both phones are undoubtedly wonderful!
Now let’s move on to the camera. Between Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime vs Sony Xperia X Performance, the camera of the Sony phone supports higher resolution. To be more specific, Xperia X Performance comes with a 23MP main camera and a 13MP selfie snapper. On the other hand, the Xiaomi phone houses a 16MP main shooter and a 4MP front facing camera. However, it’s ironic that the 23MP camera from Sony fails to record 2k video, while the 16MP one from Xiaomi can.
Let’s move on to other Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime vs Sony Xperia X Performance specs. As for the storage, Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime wins thanks to its 64GB ROM – better than 32GB ROM from X Performance. Regarding the battery, the Xiaomi handset takes the crown again with its 3000mAh battery, while Sony phone lies a 2700mAh cell only. The display of Mi 5 Prime is also better: 5.15-inch full HD, a bit larger than the 5-inch one from the Xperia phone.
Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime vs Sony Xperia X Performance Price comparison
So overall, Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime specs are better than Sony Xperia X Performance specs. With larger screen, bigger battery and more storage, of course, the Xiaomi phone offers better user experience. Now let’s move on to another critical factor: the price. Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime price is around Rm 1700, while Sony Xperia X Performance price comes at USD 3100. So now the result is clear. Xiaomi Mi 5 Prime is the winner of this battle!

LeEco Le Pro 3 Antutu scores: A beast in the making?
Seems like LeEco is planning something big. Recently, a screenshot of a benchmark on Antutu has been leaked, and the device in question from LeEco, presumably LeEco Le Pro 3, has the score higher than OnePlus 3, which tops Antutu chart for the first half of 2016! Let’s see what the company has in store for us with this device!
LeEco Le Pro 3 specs: 8GB RAM?
As we just mentioned, the score this new device got from Antutu is 163,546, even higher than the top scorer of the chart for first half of the year, OnePlus 3 (140,288). This means that the coming device is going to be a beast in terms of performance. This new device from LeEco is suggested to be the LeEco Le Pro 3. However, there are also reports of another Le Pro 2S coming soon from LeEco. Both seem to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, so either both of them are the same device, or there will be slight variations coming from LeEco. Let’s just call it the Le Pro 3 for now.
The rumored about RAM is also inconsistent. According to the source that leaked this Antutu score, the device (LeEco Le Pro 3) is going to pack 6GB of RAM. Other reports previously suggested that LeEco could even go for 8GB. Many of us would consider that overkill for a smartphone. Either way, with RAM like that, this new LeEco device will definitely be one smartphone to look for!
Also according to rumors, other LeEco Le Pro 3 specs include 64GB of onboard storage, the main camera of 16MP and a selfie shooter of 8MP. Of course, all of us should just take this information with a grain of salt, because there is no way to verify the source. The mentioned Antutu test score screenshot was put on Chinese microblogging site Weibo. We need LeEco’s official statements about this device.
LeEco Le Pro 3 price and launch date speculation
LeEco Le Pro 3 launch date is expected to be sometime in the coming month. LeEco Le Pro 3 price is also unknown, but we can expect it will be a little higher than Le 2 Pro ($249.99, ~RM1,017) if the upgrades are true. We expect it to cost about $300 (~RM1,221), which is still reasonable for such a strong smartphone. For now, let’s just wait for LeEco’s official words. Stay tuned with us for more updates!

While Galaxy A7 also features 3GB RAM, it is powered by a 1.6Ghz octa-core Exynos 7580 processor. Xiaomi Mi 5 review: Great specs and premium appearance
Xiaomi Mi 5 is not a new phone from Xiaomi, but comparing to the latest phones from this brand, Mi 5 is still a beast! Let’s take a quick look at this Xiaomi Mi 5 review!
Xiaomi Mi 5 review: The hardware
First of all in this Xiaomi Mi 5 review, let’s consider the CPU and the ROM. This phone scores 102491 points in Antutu benchmark, which is quite an impressive number! That result comes from the powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset. There are three memory variants of this phone: 128GB ROM/4GB RAM, 64GB ROM/3GB RAM and 32GB ROM/3GB RAM. Unfortunately, only the basic variant is delivered to Malaysian market. 32GB ROM can be quite a disappointment for users with high storage demand.
The second thing to mention in this Xiaomi Mi 4 review is the display. This phone houses a 5.15 full HD screen covered by Gorilla Glass 4.0. The details displayed on this screen are very sharp; the colors are vibrant and the color temperature is balanced. Another highlight of this display is its ability to view in intense sunlight. This power is thanks to 16 LEDs around the screen and the Sunlight Display technology of Xiaomi.
Next in this Xiaomi Mi 5 review is the battery. The 3000mAh battery of this phone doesn’t seem impressive in the beginning but real-life test has proved that this capacity does better than expectation. To be more specific, users are offered with five hours and 30 minutes of on-screen mode. However, the quick-charging feature of this phone is not really “quick”. Within 30 minutes, the battery is only 35% charged.
Xiaomi Mi 5: The design
Last but not least in this Xiaomi Mi 5 review is the design. What many people fall in love about this phone at first sight is its “polished” appearance. The phone looks very high-end and so far this is people’s favorite phone design! Another highlight of Xiaomi Mi 5 design is the dual curved back which makes the phone more comfortable to hold in hands. However, there is one drawback. It’s not that comfortable to hold anymore while you’re lying on your back, especially with one hand. Now many of you may wonder why I didn’t mention the camera and the audio in this review. It’s because there’s another part of coming soon! Make sure to follow our posts!
