Labelled “safe” Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is reported to explode again
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 considered as safe mode has been reported to explode recently for the second time. So, where did this explosion happen?
Samsung Galaxy Note 7: the next victim
Samsung has been involved many scandals and come in for a lot of criticism which relate to Note 7 explosions. In case you don’t know, Hui Renjie, a user from China – where Note7 is labelled “safe”, has just reported that his Note7 has exploded while in use, burning two of his fingers and damaging his Macbook nearby. That incident was really a shock and collapsed the customers’ trust towards Samsung.
This time, the explosion happened when passengers were boarding a flight Southwest Flight 994 to Baltimore. Brian Green is the unlucky owner of this exploded Note 7. According to the report, the smartphone was put in his pocket, and its battery level was at 80%, which means the phone was in normal condition. Suddenly, it overheated and began to emit smoke. Brian hurriedly throw it to the carpet. Luckily, there was just a little damage to the carpet, and no injuries were reported.
When the smartphone emitted smoke, it was not on charge. Green also said that since he bought that Note 7 he just used wireless charging feature. Until now, the reason that caused the device explosion is under investigation. The Verge also said that the smartphone is being kept by the Louisville Fire Department.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7: when explosion scandals end

Google Pixel: 5 features we wish it would have
Google Pixel is the latest flagship of Google. This phone is one of the best devices in the market. Google Pixel specs are really great like SND 821, 4GB RAM, 12MP… However, this handset still doesn’t have some features which would make itself much more awesome. Let’s have a look!
1. Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)
Google Pixel has just been launched recently. Immediately, this phone becomes one of the best camera phones in the market. It even surpasses iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 to become the phone having the highest DxOMark score ever – 89. iPhone 7 has the score of 86 while S7 has 88 DxOMark scores. If you don’t know, DxOMark is a reliable industry benchmark to measure and rate camera quality.
This new Google phone sports a 12MP main camera on the back with f/2.0, autofocus, and dual LED flash. This camera even has a big 1/2.3″ sensor size and 1.55 μm pixels. These features will give you the great and beautiful photos. However, there is no optical image stabilization feature on this camera. Without this feature, the photos may not be as sharp as the ones from camera phones with OIS.
2. Wireless charging
The second feature which is missed on Pixel is wireless charging. The Google handset is backed up with a 2770mAh battery. This capacity is supported with fast charging. Although supported by quick battery charging, Pixel is not equipped with wireless charging. This is kinda weird because Google Nexus 4 has it. Maybe the US giant doesn’t want their battery phone to get damage in the long-term.
3. Better Water resistance
Water resistance is one of the most wanted smartphone features recently. That’s why many brands have added this feature to their products. Sony is the first company to start this trend with many waterproof phones. Samsung, after that, also brought waterproof features to their Galaxy lineup. Apple even follows the trend with the first waterproof iPhone 7. To be fair, Google has also equipped Pixel with certification IP53. However, this level is quite underwhelming for a high-end device like Pixel, compared to other competitors.
4. Stereo speakers
Like its siblings – Nexus 6 and 6P, Pixel was also built by HTC. Speaking about this Taiwanese company, we will remember the flagship HTC 10. This is the first phone of the brand to have stereo speakers. With the two previous Google handsets last year, HTC equipped them with this kind of speakers. However, this 2016 Google phone lacks this feature. It is a huge missed opportunity.
5. Slimmer bezels
This new Google phone is considered like an Android iPhone. It is designed by Google and runs on an OS which is created by Google. Even the look of the phone is quite similar to the first generations of iPhone. The bezels of the phone are kinda thick. If only these bezels were slimmer, Pixel would have the best of both worlds: beautiful design and strong specs.
Google Pixel: 5 features we wish it would have
Those are the 5 things we wish Google Pixel could have. The latest flagship of Google is already a strong device. However, it could be more powerful and appealing than that with those features above. Are you satisfied with what Google Pixel offers?

Google event: All things you should know
Those are five impressive products unveiled in Google event. It seems that Google official takes part in smartphone battle with its Pixel smartphones. Let’s see if Google can compete with other big smartphone brands like Apple, Samsung!
Wireless Charging: definition and potential
Recently, the word “wireless charging” is getting more prevalent. So what is it, and what are its applications? Let’s read on and find out with us!
Wireless charging: what is it?
In simple terms for smartphone users, that means you can charge your phone without having to plug a cable to your phone. Typically in a wireless charging process, there are a device (to charge, i.e your phone), a charger (usually in the form of a pad), and two coils, one in the device and the other in the charger. When two coils are near enough, they will react with the electromagnetic field, which creates a transformer (which acts like the wire in traditional charging), and the wireless charging process starts.
We may question that is it really wireless yet. The answer is yes, to some extent. It’s true that we can’t see any wire between the electric device and a charger. However, there are wires connecting the charger to a energy source. As a result, it’s not a true wireless charging yet!
Along side with some advantages, wireless charging also has flaw. Firstly, it is safer than traditional charging as the internal coils are not exposed to wet environment. Therefore, the likelihood of electric shock can be lower. Besides, it’s also easy to use. However, because of less heat loss, the output of heat is higher than traditional charging. Thus, if you use a wireless charging pad, you should place it on a heat resistant surface. In addition, wireless chargers are more expensive than the traditional.
A promising future!
In US, Starbucks has equipped wireless charging in many stores as well as some McDonald’s restaurants in UK. Today, some smartphone makers integrate wireless charging function in some of their new products. But the potential of this kind of charging is really promising. There are some companies that are conducting experiments on true wireless charging. So, the birth of true wireless charging is now only a matter of time!
6 tests are measured by AnTuTu benchmark on Android devices
AnTuTu is considered as one of the most popular tools commonly used to benchmark Android devices. Many parts of your devices will be tested by AnTuTu benchmark and the results will be given. But, what does AnTuTu benchmark measure on your smartphones, let’s take a look below.
AnTuTu benchmark test UX
UX is the acronym for user experience. UX score is the number you can look at to partly guess how your devices will perform. Therefore, it is the first score in the benchmark to identify end user experience. UX is divided into Multitask and Runtime. The Multitask test shows the ability of multitasking for a phone with multi-core CPU. Runtime test, on the other hand, illustrates how the apps are run on Android’s Dalvik runtime.
AnTuTu benchmark test RAM
RAM can be understood as random access memory. It is working continuously on your devices no matter what you are doing. RAM score given by AnTuTu can be used to assess the performance of your smartphones. It is devided into RAM operation and RAM speed. However, there is no clear distinction between those two devisions. Therefore, the total score for both of them is given to evaluate how well your smartphones work.
AnTuTu benchmark test CPU
CPU understood as central processing unit is evaluated to see whether your devices have the capability of running high-end apps or games. It is categorized into CPU integer and CPU float-point. Like RAM, to understand a comprehensive differences between two types is quite complex. That’s the reason AnTuTu give us the final score to help us decide our smartphones’ ability.
AnTuTu benchmark test GPU
The Graphic Processing Unit is known under the word GPU. GPU doesn’t really demonstrate its functionality until it comes to playing games on your devices. GPU performs all the 3D graphics, and speeds up 2D graphics. The score is again devided into 2D graphics and 3D graphics. Of course, AnTuTu will score the two devisions seperately, but we just only need to notice the final result. If you love playing smartphone games, bear GPU score in mind.
AnTuTu benchmark test IO
Input/Output represents the speed of the internal flash storage of your devices. The higher the score I/O gets, the better performance of data transference or apps switch. The I/O score has two parts: Storage I/O and Database I/O. Storage I/O tests assess the speed of reading and writing from inbuilt storage. Database I/O is about the reading from and writing to a database. Similarly to others scores, users just need to know the total score to evaluate your Android devices.
AnTuTu benchmark: a helpful reference
If you are getting lost in a vast choice of Android devices, those AnTuTu scores can be a reliable source to take a look. Comparisons among those criteria would definitely help you to choose the best Android device.
