Why should Google buy HTC?

Let’s get this straight, HTC smartphones are no longer best sellers in the market. Their prime time was long ago and now, they are trying in vain to regain that position. Meanwhile, Google is still a newbie in smartphone manufacturing, compared to big brands like Apple, Samsung, etc. Being the creator of the most popular smartphone OS – Android, doesn’t seem to fulfill their needs. The debut of Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL is a living evidence that Google wants to achieve more than that: being an independent phone manufacturer.

However, there is one thing Google doesn’t have yet: smartphone manufacturing infrastructure of its own. And that’s something HTC has already established for a long time. So the situation here is that, HTC is an independent phone manufacturer but desperately needs more capital; meanwhile, Google wants to be an independent phone manufacturer and obviously has A LOT money. As a result, if Google buy HTC, both of them will benefit.

Then why HTC but not any other manufacturers? HTC is one of the few brands that have cooperated with Google before, so they have experience in working together. While Huawei – a previous Google’s cooperator – is currently very successful in the market, HTC is struggling. As a result, buying HTC will cost much less money than buying Huawei or other brands. Moreover, though being not successful in today’s market, HTC is still a respected name and its fan base is still big.

So overall, if Google buy HTC, the cooperation will benefit both of them. Google will officially enter the world of smartphone manufacturers while HTC will have more chances and money to regain its spotlight in the market. What do you think about this cooperation?

Additionally, Galaxy S7 sports a 3000 mAH battery, which is 230 mAH bigger than Google Pixel’s battery (2770 mAH).

As for the internal assets, both phones come with the same amount of RAM: 4GB. However, Google Pixel seems to be stronger than it rival. Under the hood, it is powered by the newest processor from Qualcomm – SnapDargon 821. On the other hand, Galaxy S7 is working on Exynos 8890/SnapDragon 820 processor. The Google phone also offers a bigger ROM option of 128GB, compared to 64GB ROM on Galaxy S7.

The prices of two smartphones are quite similar. Google Pixel price starts at $649 ( for 32GB ROM version) and $749 (128GB version). Meanwhile, Galaxy S7 price is about $648 for 32GB ROM and $750 for 128GB version. As you can see, Google Pixel comes to this battle with a stronger processor and a likely better camera. While Oppo F1s is currently very successful in the market, there have been multiple leaks and reports about another phone from Oppo, also with the “S” in its name: Oppo R9S. Let’s take a look at this Oppo R9’s brother!

Oppo R9S: 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM

Actually, this is not the first time Oppo R9S is leaked on the internet. In August, this phone received TENAA certification and last week, the phone was certified by 3C – The Compulsory Certification of China. However, not until the third leak are we able to see what the phone offers in details. According to the photos alleged to be the promotional posters of this phone, there is something about Oppo R9S specs that we cannot ignore.

First of all, this phone is reported to run Snapdragon 625 chipset at its heart. The photos also show that there will be a 4GB RAM available inside to assist the CPU. In terms of storage, this phone will possibly arrive with 64GB of internal memory and will not support microSD card.
