Huawei P10 is the next device to be launched, that’s no secret. The P10 will have specs of a 5.5 inch, a 4GB RAM and will be the next big thing to succeed the P9 which was launched six months ago.

Design and Features of the Huawei P10

The Prototype of the Huawei P10 was leaked last week, and it really looks like the Meizu MX6 with rounded edges. Today we will show you some leaks, its front panel up close and it shed some light on another interesting thing. And judging by this new picture, there won’t be any specific details yet. But we can assure you that the panel is a seamless glass, including the key holder, this means that the key holder will be a capacitive feature with an advanced fingerprint scanner beneath.

The Huawei P10 gonna come with a fingerprint scanner below the screen, which is different with the P9 that had its own on the back. According to GSMArena, The Huawei P10 will come in 2 beautiful models. The first one gonna be like a kind of device with a flat front glass, and the second one will have a curved display similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.

Note that the design is different from the photos above, but the pictured unit maybe a prototype in a design placeholder to shield the actual design from leaking. The Huawei P10 is rumored to come with specs of a 5.5″ Quad HD screen and the latest Kirin 960 SoC with 4GB of RAM. There is no official information whether it will come with a feature like the second generation Leica camera we saw on the Mate 9, or a new third generation Leica built up.

However, the Huawei P10 is expected to be official in April 2017, so nothing is pretty sure about the rumored information, and  anything can change anytime until then.

Recent reports have suggested that patents for the foldable iPhone was filed since 2014. Samsung is the company with a higher privilege to register for such designs.

Design and Features

It is believed that Tim Cook is also interested in such an innovation for the company Apple. The CEO will love to see a foldable iPhone with a flexible OLED screen. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the patent no. 9,504,170 for “flexible display devices”, which details a design for a hinged iPhone that can fold in two when not in use. The device would rely on flexible components such as an OLED display, metal support tools made of a nickel and titanium alloy called nitinol.

Apple also discussed the flexible polymers as a possible alternative to the nitinol design, with some versions of the phone coming with a chassis split into upper and lower sections. These sections will be the place where the phone hardware is attached via a single or multi-shaft hinge mechanism. This will allow the rotation so that the divided parts separately can move relative to one another. There will be a flexible printed circuit boards to allow the phone to be foldable, while the display is overlaid across the two portions of the handset.

Of course, companies quickly file patents in order to protect their designs, and that’s why Apple secured the patent for its foldable iPhone. But a patent doesn’t mean that the product is going to be made and make it to market. As we previously told you, Apple is expected to introduce a new iPhone with an OLED screen in 2017. Instead of being flexible, the display of this next OLED device will be an almost all-screen design.

Huawei Kirin 970 chips: support Cat.12 global LTE

It cannot deny that along with smartphone manufacturing, smartphone chip making is also a fast-growing and promising section for many companies. Nowadays, chipsets coming with small size, energy efficiency and good performance are most requiring factors in producing them. As we have mentioned in earlier post, Qualcomm and Samsung are cooperating in making new chips Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. It seems that Huawei has entered the competition with Qualcomm. Recently, Huawei has released Kirin 960 chip. Interestingly, Huawei Kirin 970, possibly the next generation chip of Huawei is said to be on the way of designing and making.

While Snapdragon 835 is the first chip to be manufactured using 10nm technology of Qualcomm, Kirin 970 will be the first generation to be produced applying TSMC 10nm process. This 10nm process will increase the energy efficiency as well as good performance of GPU over the TSMC 16nm technology. In addition, Huawei Kirin 970 is also reported to support Cat.12 global LTE by integrating a baseband into octa-core architecture. The Kirin 960 is built on the 16nm process. There are a quad-core Cortex-A73 chip, other quad-core Cortex-A53 chip and an octa-core Mali-G71 GPU that constitute the Kirin 960. Although the CPU performance is good, the GPU performance cannot be fully extracted.

It seems that producing chipsets built on the 10nm technology is getting more application. Not only Qualcomm and Huawei, but also MediaTek uses TSMC 10nm process to produce Helio X30 chips. Snapdragon 835 will be included in Samsung Galaxy S8. It is said that the Galaxy S8 will be released in the 1st quarter of next year. Likewise Snapdragon 835, Helio X30 chips will be released in the 1st quarter of 2017.

Strategy Analytics has released a report about the profit of the smartphone market in Q3 2016. According to the report, the total return is $9 billion. To be specific, Apple dominates and accounted for 91% of the profit in the whole industry. Huawei, Vivo and Oppo followed as the next three firms, which earned most money from the market. Yesterday, Meizu has suddenly sent the invitation as you can see above to the launch of new products by the end of this month. But the information on the device is kept private and we only know that it will use MediaTek Helio SoC processors. Now a few more leaked images of the device have been unveiled, which provides a plenty of interesting information. This seems to be an event co-organized by MeidiaTek and Meizu to announce a new handset possessing super expensive configuration.

Some previous leaked information spotted that it would be the Meizu M5 Note – a mid-range phone equipped with Helio P10 processor, 3GB of RAM. However, the speculation has been denied because the picture shown below tells us that the new device will be called Meizu X, it is absolutely not have any official information ever. But according to a reliable source from the manufacturer, it will be a real blockbuster of Meizu. The Helio X30 processors is believed to be unveiled at the same time.

Accordingly, this smartphone will be called Meizu X, a strangely named products the company has ever introduced. The source also added that the facilities located in high-end product line with more powerful configuration than the smartphone Meizu recently launched, the Meizu MX6. Will the flagship Meizu X use MediaTek Helio X30 processors? It seems to be not and it is also likely to come with Helio X20 or X25 chipset.
