Xiaomi fans in Malaysia rejoice as the Chinese Android maker announce Redmi Note 4 launch date. Not only that, you can also watch the event live right on your mobile or PC.

Redmi Note 4 launch date in Malaysia announced

Finally, after running teasers on their social media accounts for the last couple of days, Xiaomi Malaysia is ready to announce the phone. While it had not been officially stated which model they will be revealing, their latest video teaser ended with the digit “4”, followed by the words, “a new note rises”. This makes us believe that the Redmi Note 4 launch date is finally here. The unveiling will be done on their Facebook page at 12pm, 8th of March, which is noon tomorrow. For the specific model, it’s likely that Malaysia will get the same global version (also known as the Redmi Note 4X) that launched in India earlier this year.

If you haven’t heard about this phone yet, here’s a quick recap. In terms of Xiaomi Redmi note 4 specs, it features a 5.5″ FHD IPS LCD display screen. The phone comes in two variants: one version with 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM, the other model with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. As for Redmi note 4 cameras, the phone is mounted with a 13MP f/2.0 camera on the back with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash, capable of taking 1080p@30fps videos. The front camera is 5MP f/2.0, capable of recording 1080p videos.

The phone is powered by a 4100mAh battery charged by a 5V-2A charger. Sadly there’s no quick charge though. Redmi Note 4 comes with fingerprint scanner mounted on the back. The phone runs on Android 6.0 (may get up update to Nougat later) with MIUI 8.0.

According to The Investor cites industry source, it is said that the pre-orders will open on April 10, only two weeks after the alleged announcement date (March 29) and eleven days before the gossiped release date (April 21). At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 the Chinese company has just introduced how the fingerprint sensor can be accommodated under the screen of a smartphone. Before MWC, Vernee sent out an invitation for everyone to come and see their newest flagship, the Apollo 2. This will be the world’s first smartphone to come with Helio X30 processor. The phone was introduced shortly after MediaTek announced their Helio X30. The SoC is said to have the power matching Qualcomm’s best processors. For example it supports Google Daydream VR, 4K HDR shooting, dual camera setup, MTK VR function and many more advanced features. However, the Apollo 2 at MWC 2017 is still just a prototype due to the delay in production from MediaTek.

As for Vernee Apollo 2 specs, it features a 5.5″ high resolution (likely 2K) display screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM. With such huge RAM, it will compete directly with the Zenfone AR from Asus. As for Vernee Apollo 2 cameras, the phone is mounted with a 16MP camera on the back with Sony IMX298 sensor, capable of recording 4K videos. The front camera is 8MP, capable of taking 1080p videos.

The phone will run on Android 7.1 OS out of the box. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C connector. Vernee Apollo 2 has a decent battery life and comes with quick charge support so you don’t need to worry much about this aspect of the phone.
