The super popular Virtual Keyboard App Swiftkey is now for free.Effective right now, you can download Swiftkey free on the Google Play Store. All customers that downloaded SwiftKey already need to update the App because Swiftkey has a very big new feature in its newest version.

The Companys strategy switches apparently from paid to fremium application. According to Swiftkey their prediction engine is not affected by the changes. They company just reacted to wishes by a lot of their customers: keyboard themes. Now users can dramatically customize the look of their keyboards with multiple colors and design changes. Swiftkey hopes that the main revenue going forward will be the sales of those customized keyboard themes.

Right now after free download in the google play store, Swiftkey users can already pick between more than fifty different keyboard themes. They are downloadable via the Swiftkey apps theme store. One single theme costs RM 3.99 and packs of five are priced at 9.99 RM, all available inside the App.

 

So what will happen to the users that downloade Swiftkey for RM 13 before, just to download the now free app. Swiftkey will compensate those users with a “Premium Pack” with 10 Premium Themes. These Themes would normally be priced at RM14.99 for new users.
