Flip phones were very popular in the old days. Now it is just a thing of the past. However, Samsung still continues making this particular type of phone. Not just that, to catch on with the time, Samsung now makes them flip smartphones! The Korean company has two lines of the flip phone, the W, and the G series. The latest of the W series is W2017, which was announced in November last year. For the G series, the most recent one is Samsung G9298, which just has appeared!

In 2014, Samsung released the G9098. Then, in 2015, it introduced the G9198. After a no-show last year, Samsung has decided to make the next clamshell phone, G9298. Recently, the phone just achieved some important certifications from FCC and the WiFi Alliance. Getting certification from those two groups mean that Samsung is gearing this phone towards the release in the US this year. There is also a picture of the phone revealed while being closed, as can be seen below.

A different touch from previous G-series phones is that G9298 is going to have a more rounded design. There is a Snapdragon 821 chipset to power up the phone as well. Also, G9298 is going to support wireless charging, a feature usually found in smartphones. That is a great addition to make the phone more attractive.
