Xiaomi Mi3 vs Asus Zenfone 5 – Which Smartphone do you choose?
Xiaomi MI3 vs Asus Zenfone 5.
Xiaomi MI3 vs Asus Zenfone 5.It might seem a bit weird that we are comparing two smartphones that have been launched some time ago. With very impressive Price Levels of Xiaomi Mi3 for RM756 and Asus Zenfone 5 for RM429 for impressive specs, both phones are very Valid and interesting choices at the moment.
A lot of customers might read our Comparison of Xiaomi Mi3 vs Asus Zenfone 5 and think the choice is an Easy One. The Mi3 has clearly a faster processor, more Megapixel in the Camera and a display with higher resolution.
What if you need a expandable memory or Dual Sim Card though? Maybe the customers also like the Intel Atom Processor for Smartphones. That is when the Asus Zenfone becomes very interesting for our customers.
Xiaomi Mi3 vs Asus Zenfone 5 Design
The Asus Zenfone 5 has more of an understated design. The Zenphone 5 body is largely made of plastic. In the front Asus added a metallic strip, less then a cm small. The metal is the same that Asus Laptops uses and gives the Zenfone 5 a bit of style. Overall the Design of the Asus Zenfone is very solid, but certainly not spectacular.
The Xiaomi Mi3 Design is more of an eyecatcher. The Mi3 has a beautiful design. Xiaomi used Magnesium alloy metal for the Mi 3. The Casing reminds the HTC One Series, very well designed. The Mi3 also has well designed feautres like 120 laser cut speaker grills and USB ports that are reinforced by metal.
Asus Zenfone 5 with Metal on Front
Both the Asus Zenfone 5 and Xiaomi Mi3 have a very similiar size and a solid weight of 145 gramm.
Winner: Xiaomi Mi3. Xiaomi put in some extra effort with the Mi3. The Metal used on the Mi3 gives the device a premium feel. The Zenfone 5 has an average design. One small critic point on the Zenfone 5 are the wide bezels, that make the Zenphone a bit to large.
Asus Zenfone 5 vs Xiaomi Mi3 Display
The Asus Zenfone 5 comes with an 5 inch IPS Display with 720p resolution. The In Plan Switching Technology gives the Asus Zenfone 5 Screen very good viewing angles. The Screen has very good Asus quality and offers rich and accurate colors. The Asus Zenfone 5 screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Pixel Density is at 294 ppi.
The Xiaomi Mi3 screen is at 5inch IPS as well. The Mi3’s display has a higher resolution then the Asus Zenfone of 1080p though. As well the Xiaomi Mi3 Display comes at a higher Pixel Density of 441 ppi, which is significant.
Winner: Xiaomi Mi3. As announced before when it comes to Screen and pure Specs the Mi3 can beat the Zenfone 5. But the Zenfone 5 is still in the Race – Lets come to the Hardware!
Xiaomi Mi3 vs Zenfone 5 Specs and Benchmarks.
Like the Xiaomi Mi3 the Asus Zenfone 5 comes with a full 2GB of RAM. It sports an Dual Core 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom Processor. The Big Advantage it has above the Xiaomi Mi3 is that the Zenfone 5 has extendable memory via micro sd. The Basic Version of the Zenfone 5 comes with 16GB of Memory but it can be easily extended with a 64GB Micro Sd Card. Also the Zenfone 5 offers Dual Sim, another advantage on the MI3. The Battery of the Asus Zenfone comes with 2110 mAh.
In Asus Zenfone 5 Benchmarks the phone gain an impressive 21795 p
As Antutu Benchmarks definitely do not say everything about a Phones Feel and Performance everyday we let the Asus Zenfone 5 run Citadel.
We ran Epic Citadel App to test the Asus Zenfone 5 graphic capability. For our test we increased all Settings in Citadel up to Ultra High Quality. The Test results were very impressive. The Asus Zenfone 5 managed to achieve an average 50 Frames per Seconds in our test. Even high end smartphones achieve mostly 35FPS.
This is certainly good news. The main reason for the high quality is that most other high end smartphones have higher screen resolutions then the Asus Zenfone 5 at 720p. Still if you are a Gamer on a budget – you can trust in the Asus Zenfone 5 quality.
Even after the Xiaomi Mi4 launch, the Mi3 Specs are still impressive. The Mi3 sports an Snapdragonn 800 processor at 2.3 Ghz with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It comes in two basic versions with 16GB internal Memory of 64GB. As mentioned above the Xiaomi Mi3 is not extendable via Micro SD and also does not offer Dual Sim.
The XiaomI Mi3 is a Killer in Benchmarks. In our Antutu Benchmarks the XiaomI Mi3 reached an impressive 35675 or even higher at 36092 points. What a Blast!
Winner: Xiaomi Mi3. IF we purely look at the Hardware of the Xiaomi Mi3 vs Asus Zenfone 5 the Xiaomi Phone is the clear winner. Please keep in mind though that the Asus Zenfone 5 comes with Dual Sim and extendable memory card.
XiaomI Mi3 vs Asus Zenfone 5 Camera
The Asus Zenfone 5 has a 8MP Rear Camera. For the Price Tag the Camera Quality is definitely very decent. Asus has also added some very cool features like Depth of Field and Miniature.
While we tested the Zenfone 5 in Camera Auto Mode lighter parts of pics seem a bit overexposed and darker parts a bit underexposed. We were surprised by the great quality of pictures in low light conditions. Overall definitely decent camera quality. The Front Shooter is a 2MP Selfie Cam.
Asus Zenfone 5 Camera Samples
The Xiaomi Mi3 comes with a 13 Megapixel Camera with Dual LED Flash from Philipps. The beautiful 5 piece lens sports an inbuilt infrared filter and f/2.2 aperture with 28mm wide angle.
Like the Asus Zenfone it comes with 2.o Front or Selfie Camera. The Xiaomi Mi3 definitely takes awesome pictures. Have a look for yourself.
Winner: Xiaomi Mi3.
Asus Zenfone 5 vs Xiaomi Mi3 Software
Despite having not much of Smartphone experience Asus did a very good job with the Android Launcher for the Zenphone 5. The Android Launcher is based on Android 4.3, a Kit Kat Update is available though.
The Asus Version looks well designed and increases the Basic Functionality of Android. Very Similar to HTC Sense UI most apps can be accessed without unlocking the screen.
The Xiaomi Mi3 runs on MIUI V5 which is Xiaomi’s custom OS. MIUI V5 has a few design tweaks from Stock Android while staying highly customizable for experienced Android Users. Also Xiaomi just launched MIUI V6 which will be available on Xiaomi Mi3 as well. Overall MIUI is a well balanced OS and recommenable.
Winner: Tie. Both Android Versions are recommendable. None of them have the bloated feeling of Samsungs OS and are very pleasing to the eye. While there are millions of happy MIUI users already, Asus did a great Job with its Android Launcher on the Zenfone 5.
Summary:
Lets make it simple. If your budget is smaller then RM500 go and buy the Asus Zenfone 5. We can recommend the Asus Zenfone 5 without hesitation. Despite having “only” a Dual Core Intel Processor, the Asus Zenfone 5 performed remarkably well in all benchmarks. Especially Gaming Fans will be impressed by the Zenphone 5 performance. On top customers get Dual Sim and Micro Sd extendable up to 64GB. Overall a clear recommendation for under RM500 in Malaysia.
If you can spend RM200 more, please go ahead an buy the MI3. While the MI3 is definitely not flawless, at a price of RM750 it comes very near. The Snapdragon 800 at 2.1 Ghz, 1080p Screen, 2GB and high quality build – a clear recommendation. Combine that with a 13MP Shooter and powerful OS and you have yourself a Flagship Killer.
While both phones are on the market for some time now, we can both recommend the Xiaomi Mi3 and Asus Zenfone 5. Which phone you choose might be overall a budget decision. Especially with the Xiaomi Mi4 around the corner the MI3 might get another Price Cut and will be the Secret Buying Tip in Malaysia.

Xiaomi MI4 Benchmark Killer – Mi4 Vs Honor 6 Vs One Plus One
The New Xiaomi Mi4 is already in competition and a Benchmark War especially with Huawei Honor 6 and OnePlus One. The Real Question is can the Xiaomi Mi4 show in Benchmarks that it will win the war against Huawei Honor 6 and One Plus One? Will the Xiaomi Mi4 be the real Flagship Killer 2014 ?
The new Xiaomi Phone launched just yesterday. It seemed like the whole world watched the Live Event. Already all XiaomI Mi4 specs circulating the whole web. Many of us were impressed with the MI4. There are other Chinese Phones out there who want to win this Smartphone Game Of Thrones. Especially Huawei Honor 6 and OnePlus One are fierce competitors.
The Xiaomi Mi4 is not even launched and already an insight source run all the most important Xiaomi Mi4 Benchmark. Even more impressive the benchmarks compare the Xiaomi MI4 vs One Plus One and Huawei Honor 6.
All of the three phones sell around the same price of 1999 Yuan (1099RM) And honestly each of those three Smartphones could claim the Flagship Killer Title with those Specs and impressive price. There Can be Only One Real Winner in the Benchmark War though!
For the Benchmarks there was a One Plus One Version used with ColorOS instead of Cyanogenmod 11s. This should have little impact on the results though. The Xiaomi Mi4 was obvioulsy a Pre-Release Version. The Huawei Honor 6 is the only smartphone in the test, that does not run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor.
Xiaomi Mi4 Benchmark vs Huawei Honor 6 vs OnePlus One
Lets have a look at those Antutu Benchmarks. For us the first real surprise here is how well Huawei Honor 6 peforms. The Huawei phone with its Huawei Chip simply outperforms the One Plus One with Snapdragon 801 2.5 Ghz. It can even nearly keep up with the Xiaomi Mi4 – Thats a real Shocker.
If we compare the 3D Mark Benchmarks we can see the real hidden power of the Qualcomm Chipset though. The Snapdragon 801 Chipset sports the extreme powerful Adreno 330 GPU on the chipset. The Mali 628 Graphic Processing Unit on the Honor 6 cant match the Adreno 330 on both Xiaomi Mi4 and One Plus One Phones.
The Xiaomi Mi4 Wins the Benchmark War !
The Huawei Honor 6 is a not so distant third place. This is mostly because of its weaker GPU. The One Plus One comes as a solid second place. The Xiaomi Mi4 is the true Killer. It dominates in pure Antutu Score and rocks the 3D Benchmarks also.
You can argue that Benchmarks like Antutu are not everything about a Smartphone. In Real Life the Performance of One Plus One and Xiaomi Mi4 are probably very similiar. Both the Xiaomi phone and the One Plus have Elite Hardware. They are great for both Gamers and every day usage. The Huawei Honor 6 is also high speced and for every day usage and most games you will be happy. Most current Games will probably not pitch the Kirin 920 and Mali 628 Graphic Processing Unit to their upper level.
XIaomi Mi4 wins the Benchmark War. That said whichever Flagship you choose with the Mi4, Honor 6 and One Plus One you have a great choice. Please take caution though that it is very hard to purchase a One PLus One at the moment. You need a Invitation. Also there seem to be some problems with the Yellow Levels on Screen.
What do you think about those benchmarks? Did you expect the Xiaomi Mi4 to win? Are you surprised about the great Huawei Honor 6 Performance? Please let us know in the comments and discuss!
Xiaomi Mi4 Specs Comparison – Xiaomi Mi4 New Flagship Killer?
In China the Xiaomi Mi4 already launched for some time and is very popular and in demand. The new Xiaomi Mi4 sports the latest hardware on the market and that an extremely affordable price. At the moment the Xiaomi Mi4 Import sells for RM1079 in Malaysia.
The Xiaomi Phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5 GHZ. The Snapdragon 801 comes with Adreno 330 GPU and Krait Technology and is the most powerful Processor available at the moment. You Can say the Best of the Best in terms of processor. The Mi4 gets 3GB of Ram and comes with an 16GB or 64GB Variant.
The Display on the device is an gorgeous 5inch Full JDI OGS full lamination screen. Also the MI4 will get an improved Selfie Cam with 8MP and 13MP Rear Camera, both with Sony Sensor. Also the Xiaomi Mi4 will get LTE, an important feature that was missing on the Xiaomi Mi3.
The most interesting question is, how does the Xiaomi MI4 compare to the rest of the Flagships in the market. Especially compared to Oppo Find 7 and One PLus One? One Plus advertised their Flagship, the One Plus One as “Flagship Killer 2014”.
The Mi4 has very similar Specs and a very impressive Price Tag. So who will Kill whom in this “FlagShip Killer Competiton?”
To find out please see here our FLagship 2014 Spec Comparison Sheet.

The Xiaomi Mi4 Specs are remarkably similar to the One Plus One. So purely on terms of specs we cant decide who is the real winner in this comparison. The One PLus One is launched in the market already. The Problem is that it is extremly hard to get your hands on one. The Customer need to get an invitation from One Plus One that is not easy to get. We cant really tell if the One Plus Phone will even launch in Malaysia ever. So the One Plus One Stock is extremely limited for now. Also there seems to be a big problem with yellow levels on the screen of a large number of One Plus Ones, like you can read here.
The Xiaomi Mi4 will definitely launch in more countries. Even with the limited stock on Xiaomi FlashSales, we predict that it will be easier to obtain then the One Plus One right now. We cant tell when the FD-LTE Edition of the MI4 will launch but it should not take to long. The Xiaomi Mi4 is slighly more expensive to the One Plus One, 299USD for the One Plus One versus 322USD for the Xiaomi MI4.
Considering Xiaomi’s impressive Marketing Warfare and this impressive Price Tag, we predict that the XiaomI Mi4 will be the real Flagship Killer 2014. What do you think? Let us know in the Disqus Comment Section.

15:17: We get more impressions and pictures of the Xiaomi MI4. It seems like we really get the “apple feel”. 15:48: Xiaomi Mi4 will launch with Android 4.4 the newest version of Android. That is the first time that a Xiaomi Phone gets the newest Android Version at launch in CHina.

16:12: We have the Pricing for the MI4! The Mi4 will sell as 16GB – RMB1999 (Approx. RM1099) and 64GB – RMB2499 (Approx. RM1299). This is the same price as the MI3 launch, before Xiaomi introduced a price cut later.
16:14: Xiaomi normally does not inflate prices for other countries. So far we dont know when Xiaomi will outroll the MI4 to Malaysia and other countries.
16:15: It seems that at this stage the Xiaomi Mi4 only supports TD-LTE, which is pretty bad news for the other markets. Most of the other countries worldwide use FD-LTE.
16:28: We get more details for the MiBand. The MiBand can unlock your phone, track exercise and sleep levels and has a clever alarm clock. On top of that the MiBand is waterproof and Xiaomi says it has a standby time of 30 days. This might very well be true, since it has no Power Sucking Screen.
16:30: See some Fitness Tracking in action here
16:30: The MiBand will be sold at only RM40. This is tough competiton for Fitbit and other Fitness Trackers like Fitbit who sell often for more then 100 USD per Fitness Band.

New Xiaomi MI4 will get “Apple” iPhone Feel
New Xiaomi Mi4 with “Apple” Feel
Tomorrow is the new Xiaomi MI4 Launch. The Xiaomi Mi4 will replace the Xiaomi Mi3 as new Xiaomi’s Flagship. Xiaomi gave us a new teaser what to expect. We will get the “feel of Apple” with the new Xiaomi Mi4.
The next Xiaomi phone might not get stainless steel body, but for sure we can expect a Elite Premium Feel to it. Xiaomi launched a new teaser, shortly for the Big Launch of the next Xiaomi phone tomorrow.
Read our Xiaomi Redmi Note vs Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Review
The First Point of the Teaser Image might be the most interesting. It says the new Xiaomi Phone will have the feel of “Apple”. As we all know Apple is unbeaten in Design so far, and definitely feels the most premium of all brands.
What does that mean for the new Xiaomi MI4? This could mean that the new Xiaomi will get the design and premium built of Apple iPhones. It could as well mean, that the new Xiaomi smartphone will get an Apple Skin Finish, same as the One Plus One Baby Skin. Either way, we are very excited by the news that it will have the “Feel of Apple.
Literally the new Xiaomi Teaser says:
- 1. workmanship of apple
- 2. handfeel of milktea
- 3. performance of xiaomi.
The second point on the teaser image, it says the next Xiaomi phone will have the Characteristics of MilkTea. For Chinese this could mean smooth and elegant look.
The Final point says, “Performance of a Xiaomi.” This can be translated as highest specs on a smartphone for cheap price for the new xiaomi.
What does this mean for the new Xiaomi Mi4? In the best case we get an Premium Apple Design and built. The phone will be extremely refined and the Xiaomi Mi4 will sport the last specs and newest hardware at cheapest price.
We are definitely in for this new Xiaomi Phone! Very excited to see the launch on 22 July tomorrow!
Breaking: LTE Xiaomi Redmi and Redmi NOTE phones leaked!
4G LTE for Xiaomi Redmi Note and Redmi
Xiaomi’s Launch Event on might be more then just the Xiaomi MI4 Launch. THe Xiaomi Redmi and Xiaomi Redmi NOTE phones will both get 4G LTE.
The governmental TENAA homepage officially certified new Xiaomi Redmi smartphones. There is no change in design from the original Xiaomi Redmi Series. BUT the Xiaomi Redmi smartphones will sport 4G LTE.
We are not sure yet what processor the new Xiaomi Redmi LTE. So far we only know that the Xiaomi Redmi LTE will sport an quadcore 1.3GHZ processor. That means it could be the Snapdragon 400 or Mediatek MT6582. The official Specs of the Xiaomi REDMI LTE state: 1GB of Ram. Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat, 8MP Camera and 4GLTE support.
From the leaked information we can see that the Xiaomi Redmi Note will also get 4G LTE. So far we dont know yet if hte Xiaomi Redmi Note will get other hardware and spec changes.
We expect the Xiaomi Redmi LTE phones to launch on 22.July together with the Xiaomi MI4. The big question is if XIaomi will launch the Xiaomi Redmi NOTE LTE version in Malaysia on 22 June as well.
In the worst case Xiaomi will launch the non Xiaomi Note LTE version in Malaysia and Xiaomi China will launch the Xiaomi Redmi Note LTE version in China on the same day…Lets hope the Xiaomi Redmi Note LTE version comes to Malaysia on 22 June.
Latest Updates: Malaysian Airlines Flight Plane Crash: MH17 Shot down over Ukraine!
Malaysian Airlines Flight shot down over Ukraine
UPDATE: 4:36pm, 18 July] The Black Box has been found. More Details as soon as we have them here.
[UPDATE: 2:00pm, 18 July] Malaysia Airlines displayed another Press Release. Showing that the Boeing for MH17 was in very good health
The Malaysian Airline Flight MH17 was shot down over the Ukraine, yesterday. All 295 people onboard died in the crash. The Malaysian Airlines flight was on way back to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam.
Malaysian Airlines confirmed the tragic incident on their website:
Media Statement 2 : MH17 Incident
“With immediate effect, all European flights operated by Malaysia Airlines will be taking alternative routes avoiding the usual route.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which was on a scheduled flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur went down in eastern Ukraine. Malaysia Airlines confirms that the aircraft did not make a distress call.
The usual flight route was earlier declared safe by the International Civil Aviation Organisation. International Air Transportation Association has stated that the airspace the aircraft was traversing was not subject to restrictions.
As opposed to the earlier statement, the flight was carrying a total number of 298 people – comprising 283 passengers including three infants of various nationalities and 15 crew of Malaysian nationality. Some of the nationalities of the passengers are yet to be determined.” Read the whole statement here
According to Anton Gerashenko, a consultant of Ukraine’s Interior Minister, the Flight MH17 was shot down by a missile fired of a Buk Launcher while over the countries east. Meanwhile US Government Officials confirmed that the aircraft was hit by surface-to-air missiles. At the moment experts worldwide are trying to determin which side launched the missile.
Prime Minister Najib Razak has in a Press Conference at 4.00am officially confirmed that it was the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 that crashed down in the Ukraine. Other facts that he shared were:
- The Flight Route was declared safe by IATA before the flight
- There was no distress call by the flight MH17
- While Ukranian Government believes that the flight was shot down, Malaysian Authorities can not confirm the facts at the moment. If the plane has been shot down, Malaysia insists that the responsible Parties must be brought to justice
- Malaysia will send a special disaster rescue and medical team to the Ukraine.
This RT Video shows quite clear what is happening:
At this point its unclear who is responsible for this tragedy. The leader of the Pro Russian Separatist denied the accusations. “We don’t have weapons that can take down a plane from that altitude,” Tsarev declared. According to other reports the separatists do have those weapons indeed and have taken down multiple Ukrainian military aircrafts. It seems like “An hour before #MH17 went down, separatists were bragging about downing a Ukrainian military plane.”
According to Russian Radio News, the black box has been brought back to Moscow “for investigation,” we read in the Daily Beast. That means unfortunately we might have to wait some longer to get the truth. These last days there have been very heavy fights between Ukranians Military and the Separatists. On thursday the Ukranian Goverment declared that russians had shot down a Ukranian Warplane on late wednesday.
“Today, regardless of nationalities, we are all united in grief,” – PM Najib Razak.
Our wishes and prayers go out to all the Victims familys and loved ones.

Xiaomi MI4 Antutu Score of Awesome 43,149 Points?
Xiaomi MI4 Antutu Score of 43149 Points?
We just got in Screenshots from a Mystery Phone that runs Antutu Score of an amazing 43,149 points. The BiG Surprise is that this Killer Score is boosted by a Octa Core Mediatek MT6595 and not Snapdragon 801 CPU.
Sure Antutu Scores and Benchmarks in general dont say everything about a Smartphone. Overall from our experience the better the Antutu Score – the higher the performance of a smartphone.
Only some smartphones so far have been reaching Antutu Scores near 40000 Points. The Samsung Galaxy S5 and One Plus One reach scores from 37000-38000 Points. The very famous Xiaomi Mi3 Scores around 35000-36000. These smartphones have in common though that they are all sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800-801 Processors.
What is really KILLER though that we see the first time a Mediatek phone with a Antutu score above 40000 points. That means Snapdragon could some real competiton from Mediatek and the new Xiaomi MI4 could boost up competiton even more in Malaysia!
There is no official confirmation from Antutu yet which phone it is. We know that this Kung Fu Killer Device sports an Octa Core Mediatek MT6595 at 1.7 Ghz with 3GB of RAM and Android Kit Kat 4.4. Also the Mystery Device gets LTE and Dual Sim Support. If its the Xiaomi Mi4 we could get some beautiful design on top with metal casing like HTC One.
If you have all been following our news so far you know very well what this could mean. Could these be the first real Benchmarks of the Xiaomi Mi4?
It has all the Specs a lot of customers were wishing for. It has LTE and Dual SIM and above all 3GB of RAM. Also the implementation of a Mediatek CPU will significantly lower production cost, making the Xiaomi Mi4 even more affordable then the Xiaomi Mi3. At this stage it might be another new Chinese Competitor though.
What we can be sure of is that this Kung Fu Killer Device easily beats all the current competition by far with a score of 43,149 points. If this is the Xiaomi MI4 the score dominates Samsung S5, HTC ONE M8, ONE PLUS ONE and Huawei Ascend P7.
What do you think which phone could it be? If its really the new Xiaomi MI4 we will latest see on its launch on 22. July.
Xiaomi MI4 with Stunning Design, Camera and Stock Availablilty
On July 22 the new Xiaomi MI4 Flagship launches. New Rumours warn, that we might have to expect less from the specs and more in details on the latest Xiaomi Phone.
So far Xiaomi has been introducing a new Flagship Smartphone every year. All of these like the Xiaomi MI3 have the latest specs and are prices around 1999 Yuan ($320). This Business Model, combined with an excellent Social Media and PR Strategy has responsible for Xiaomi’s success. For the new Xiaomi Mi4 phone this strategy might change.
Xiaomi has always been offering the latest hardware at lowest possible prices. Their Strategy is actually very similiar to Amazon, not necessarily Apple. They sell their Mi Phones at production cost or even below. The Problem is that many smartphone companies, especially Chinese, are copying this exact model. If you have a look at Huawei Malaysia for example, you can see that they even trying to copy the exact Flash Sale Model, that makes Xiaomi so susccessful.
A lot of users indicate that some latest technologies like 2K on the LG G3 and latest Lenovo phone displays on a smartphone might not be worth the money.
The Latest rumour from the Xiaomi camp are that for the Xiaomi Mi4 there might be an increased focus on Design and Details of the Flagship. These leakeded benchmarks and screenshots suggest, that the XIaomi Mi4 will still have very impressive hardware. It seems like XIaomi tries to differentiate themselves with the new Xiaomi Mi4 instead of being only a cost leader.
Benchmarks like above show that the new Xiaomi Mi4 or Xiaomi MI3s will sport a Snapdragon 801 like Samsung S5 and HTC ONE M8, with Adreno 330GPU and 3GB of RAM. As well the Mi4 will sport a 5inch FUll HD Display with 1080p, 16MP Rear Camera and 8MP Front Camera ad 16 GB internal memory. Quite possibly also LTE. If you compare the MI4 to the MI3 that means that there is only more RAM, new OS and an improved camera.
Should these rumours be true, Xiaomi will really focus more on design with the new Xiaomi Phone. Rumors suggest that the Xiaomi Mi4 is the best looking Xiaomi phone so far. Also it should get a complete Metal Body, similar to the HTC ONE phones and a sleek and slender look.
We believe that new MI4 Camera will also be updated. We probably will see an aperture of F/1.8. Via a wider aperture like f/1,8 a lot of light is reaching the sensor. This will allow for extremely fast shutter speed. That means you will be much more likely to capture your favorite moments with the Xiaomi Mi4 in time. Xiaomi will probably also update the camera applications.
Xiaomi is also rumoured to launch a new version of their OS MIUI. While the current phones like the Redmi Note and MI3 still feature MIUI V5, the Mi4 will get MIUI V6. MIUI V6 is baded on Android KitKat 4.4.2 and will probably get a flat design and support for Gesture support etc. In general MIUI V5 is an excellent OS. Its kept very simple and still has a lot of customization options.
What we all hope for the Xiaomi MI4 is a change in Stock Levels. While Flash Sales are surely a effective Marketing Strategy there are also a lot of angry customers after every sales. We cant help but wonder if these Sales Methods are sustainable. Xiaomi is not an Startup anymore. They Recently launched their Sales Numbers. With those Sales numbers they definitely have purchasing Power with hardware suppliers.
This could mean two things for the new Xiaomi Mi4. The new Xiaomi Phone might
1) The new Xiaomi Phone might sell even cheaper then the MI3.
2) We will finally have enough stock for the MI4. No more Sold out in 1 Minutes for Xiaomi Phones, and stock for everybody.
More stock would be a major advantage for all Xiaomi Fans worldwide. They could also gain an major edge on the chinese competiton. Both Oppo, One Plus and Huawei are notorious for their Stock and Availability problems outside of China.
After all the screenshot and benchmarks might just show us the Xiaomi MI3s and not yet the Xiaomi MI4. We definitely are very excited for the launch event on 22July. After all Xiaomi could easily pull of an MI4 with specs like this:
What do you think for the Xiaomi Mi4? Will Xiaomi surprise us all?
Why Mediatek’s latest MT6795 processor could beat the Snapdragon 810
Details of the latest Mediatek MT6795 Flagship processor leaked. These show hardware that means that the Mediatek MT6795 could bust the latest Snapdragon 810 processor.
There have been a lot of discussions about Mediatek’s 64Bit processors. These 64 bit procesors actually have enough power to beat SoC Processors (System On a Chip) like Snapdragon 801. This would be big news, since most of the Elite Flagship Smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S5 or HTC ONE M8 actually use the Snapdragon 801.
Now there are leaks that show features of the new Mediatek MT6795 processor. These specs show that even the NEW Snapdragon 810 processor could be under outperformed.
New Mediatek MT6795 vs Snapdragon 810
The MT6795 appeared the first time last week in a product roadmap from Mediatek. Today we have better information on the latest MT6795 specs and what to expect from the new Mediatek Flagship CPU.
Mediatek uses the same 28nm manufacturing processor for the new MT6795. The MT6795 though, will be made of a 64 bit octacore processor, containing Cortex A53 cores and A57 cores. So far the leaked specs show the MT6795 clocked at 2.2 Ghz. More likely at launch we will see a 2.5 Ghz version or even more.
The PowerV G6200 which is also used in iPhone 5s will be used for the GPU. That means that the MT6795 will have high quality GPU for sure. So far it is hard to say if the PowerV G6200 can outperform the Adreno 430 GPU on the Snapdragon 810 by Qualcomm.
For RAM the Mediatek MT6795 will support Dual channel LPDDR3 933Mhz while the Snapdragon 810 will support 64bit LPDD4F 1600mhz. The octa core processor will also support 2560 x 1600 resolution display, LTE, Glonass and 20 Megapixel Cameras. The huge advantage is that the new Mediatek octa core processor pin is compatible with MT6592. That means most smartphone upgrades will be fast.
According to Mediatek the MT6795 will be launched end of 2014. That means Q1 2015 we will already see even cheaper smartphones with powerful specs.
The real Question here is really price vs performance! If we get an equally powerful performance for everyday Android Users who will switch? How many people can keep affording expensive Snapdragon phones? If we can get an affordable high spec Mediatek MT6795, should Qualcomm start to worry?
In the end more competition is better for consumers in any case!
