OnePlus One Flash Sale with just RM937

UPDATED NEWS:

Bad news for consumers is that the OnePlus One Flash Sale with just $249 (RM937) has ended. However, good news is that the price cut will be permanent from now on. It means the 16GB Silk White OnePlus One price is at $249 (RM937) and the 64GB sandstone black is at $299 (RM1,125) for good.

To explain this decision, OnePlus comapany says that lower component prices have helped them to cut their product cost permanently, yet we think that it’s also somehow a preparation for the new OnePlus Two to come out this year.

More than that, another good news is the OnePlus‘s offer related to Dropbox starting on Jun 10. You will can buy a combo of OnePlus One 64GB version and one-year Dropbox Pro subscription (coming with 1TB of space) with only $349 (RM1,313). It seems a remarkable discount because the Pro tier normally costs $10 (RM38) a month, which is $120 (RM452) for a year. Unfortunately, the company will just offer that for limited time in the U.S., EU, and Canada.

Blue Charm Note 2 (aka Meizu M2 Note) changes into 4.6” FHD screen, 2GB RAM and MediaTek MT6753?

If you remember, there has been a leak showing a phone that is said to be Blue Charm Note 2 (aka Meizu M2 Note) with gray color and power button placed on one side. But, is it the Meizu M2 Note that the company will bring to consumers this year? Recently, another model for the “Meizu M2 Note” has appeared in the database of GFXBench (a graphics benchmark website) with some differences from what we have heard before.

Update to Official Launch Post 02.06

Meizu M2 Note gray

Meizu M2 Note specs according to GFXBench:

From the data, the handset is equipped with 4.6-inch 1080p display, MediaTek MT6753 octa-core 1.3GHz processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage as the basic Meizu M2 Note specs. As for camera, the front cam is capable of 5 megapixels and the rear is 13 megapixels. Operating system for M2 Note will be Android 5.1 Lollipop. It’s easy to realize that this piece of information is not totally the same as what we recorded for days go. Specifically, Meizu M2 Note was said to boast a 5.5-inch screen and an octa-core MT6752 64-bit chipset. So, somehow 4.6 inches makes the phone’s configuration not very scientific.

1

About MT6753 processor, it is an octa-core SoC using the Cortex-A53 architecture with Mali-T720 GPU providing graphics for gaming and other content. In terms of frequencies, MT6753’s clocking frequencies are from 1.3GHz to 1.5GHz while MT6752’s are from 1.7GHz to 2.0GHz. In general, MT6752 can be a better choice for Blue Charm Note 2 (aka Meizu M2 Note).

2

So, there are a lot of rumors for the Meizu new smartphone. Which ones are correct? 4.6 inches or 5.5 inches? MT6753 or MT6752? Everything including how Meizu M2 Note looks and what its specs are will be clear today!

ZTE Nubia X8 leak: strong 4GB RAM, huge 5,120mAh battery and border-less QHD display

Many flagship smartphones are following the “borderless” trend such as the upcoming Meizu MX5, OPPO R7 Plus, and ZTE Nubia Z9. Recently, a smartphone with almost no bezel has also been spotted on ZTE’s own website. Its full name is ZTE Nubia X8. The handset was then dismissed but kind of too late because it had already been seen by a lot of internet users.

ZTE Nubia X8

ZTE Nubia X8 Specs:

In terms of look, Nubia X8 is super slim with 7.9mm thickness and 201 grams weight, but able to feature pretty good specs. According to the leaked picture, the phone is expected to boast a 5.5” or 6” borderless 2K QHD screen. Besides, Nubia X8 owns 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage (up to 64GB via microSD card). As for operating system, the whole phone will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with 4G LTE and 3G support.

1

One key selling point could go to Nubia X8 battery due to its impressive capacity. To be specific, X8 sports a massive 5,120mAh batt that can keep the phone last for a long period of time. If you are looking for a smartphone having long battery life, you can consider ZTE Nubia X8. As for color options, you can choose between Black and Gold, yet who knows whether ZTE would add more colors for the final version of Nubia X8.

Anyhow, apart from the above information, there’s no word made for the processor which will power the new ZTE product, and no official announcement for ZTE Nubia X8 price and launch date in Malaysia, as well. So, if you like this phone and want to own one, you may have to wait for ZTE to speak their mind. We guess that such good specs like 4GB RAM, massive battery, and elegant design are likely to make ZTE Nubia X8 a strong competitor in the borderless kind devices.

Xiaomi Mi5 2015: Will it sport a fingerprint scanner?

The battle of thousand-ringgit flagship smartphones is fierce already but it seems to be heating up every time there is a leaked news about a new flagship. This time, it is a Xiaomi new product to be equipped with a fingerprint scanner.

According to some news sources, Xiaomi is preparing a new machine to be powered by MediaTek MT6795 processor. It is also considered as the next high-end flagship device made by Xiaomi. In addition, the info stresses that the new phone will be equipped with fingerprint scanner from FPC (Fingerprint Cards). Huawei Mate 7 and OPPO N3 fingerprint sensors are also from FPC. It is reported that this new guy’s appearance can be in September.

Xiaomi Mi5 2015

How about Xiaomi Mi5 2015?

So, somehow the above info implies that if Xiaomi is thinking about building a fingerprint scanner for its smartphones, and it is likely that Xiaomi Mi5 will include that feature for the release in the late 2015. Besides, some other sources have said that Xiaomi Mi5 can be covered by a metal frame.

To recap, Xiaomi is probably considering making its phone dress a metal cover and sporting fingerprint scanner like other current flagship phones on the market. Will it come true? Let’s wait and see!

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2: Leaked metal frame body!

According to the Xiaomi Roadmap 2015, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is supposed to be released on July 15, 2015, which is one more month to go. However, some leaked photos of Redmi Note 2 appearance have been shown on the internet recently. Looking the pictures, we know that the handset is going to be made of METAL.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Metal Frame (Picture source: Gi2China)

1

Some previous news sources have confirmed that Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 should be a 5.5-inch device with a 1080p display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor. There are built-in 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. Apart from that, a 5MP front camera and a 13MP rear cam will support Redmi Note 2’s ability of taking photos. The whole phone is run by a 3,100mAh battery.

2

However, some other sources said that Xiaomi is also developing a MediaTek MT6795 machine as a part of the Redmi series. This phone will be priced at less than 1499 Yuan (so Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 price in Malaysia can be around RM888).

So, with a metal frame, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is likely to draw a lot of attention from consumers preferring this material. In terms of specs, basically Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will feature Snapdragon 615 or MT6795 (this is still not officially claimed), 2 GB RAM, 16GB ROM, a combo of 13MP back and 5MP front cam, and a 3,100mAh battery. If this is the case, Redmi Note 2 seems to be a redoubtable competitor to its peer, perhaps a Meizu smartphone.

Bluboo X500 Dragon is coming with 5-inch screen, 4GB RAM and Helio X10 chipset!

UPDATED NEWS:

Bluboo X500 Dragon has just revealed its official renders, so good looking and flashy!

render 1

The picture shows a blue device boasting a glass and alloy body. The phone also owns a 2.5D display, along with a physical home button. Perhaps it will include a fingerprint sensor like many other flagship smartphones in China.

2

 3

In the previous leaks, we were informed that Bluboo X500 features 4GB RAM and a Mediatek Helio X10 chipset. Other than that, we hardly knew for more. Now, one more thing about the Dragon we can take into consideration is its 3,050mAh battery, not so large to wow us, but still good, right?!

——————

Bluboo new flagship is going to be Bluboo X500 Dragon. It will be equipped with 5” HD display, Helio X10 chipset and 4GB RAM, a top trend for smartphones this year.

Bluboo X500 Dragon

2015 sees some of Bluboo mid-range devices such as Bluboo C100 (priced at $99 or about RM363 with Android 5.1 Lollipop, LTE, 2GB RAM and HD display) and Bluboo X550 (priced at $149.99 or RM550 with Android 5.1 Lollipop, remarkable 5,300mAh battery and 2GB RAM) enter the market. As for the second half of this year, it seems like Bluboo wants to attack the flagship phone market with their new Bluboo X500 Dragon.

So what does Bluboo X500 Dragon Specs have to make it Bluboo’s top of the range phone?

Firstly, it can be its design. According to the released photo of Bluboo X500, it gives us a general awareness of how X500 looks like and that’s pretty impresive. We think that this handset will be shaped in a real slim body with a physical home button on the front surface.

On the other hand, Bluboo manufacturer also announces that 2 models of Bluboo X500 Dragon will be launched. Both of them will share the same 5” screen and Mediatek Helio X10 processor but different RAMs, one is 3GB and the other is 4GB RAM. Such specs are likely to help X500 become one of the most powerful MeidaTek devices in China.

Well, one new flagship phone from Bluboo is ready to take off. With a gorgeous appearance and strong specs like 4GB RAM and Helio X10 chip and maybe even a remarkably large battery, Bluboo X500 can possibly create a hit sale for the company. Though, apart from the mentioned info, there’s not much to inform you more of other specific Bluboo X500 specs as well as Bluboo X500 price in Malaysia. We’ll keep updating you as soon as possible.

Though, in terms of price, there still has been no words on Huawei P8 price in Malaysia. OPPO Find 9: Dual Camera, Snapdragon 810 and 4GB RAM

Not long ago, we got a video showing some initial images of alleged OPPO R7. The phone seems to be the first ‘bezel-less’ smartphone in the world. OPPO never stops thinking of new things, and to continue the huge success of OPPO Find 7, OPPO will probably introduce the new OPPO Find 9 soon. Let’s have a look at photos leaking the OPPO Find 7 unique appearance.

OPPO Find 9:

OPPO Find 9

From the picture, we can find dual camera setup at the back and easily to be the highlight of the device. But this is not the first time we see a dual camera device thanks to the HTC One M8 and also Huawei Honor 6 Plus. So, it’s not surprising to see such a dual camera unit at the back of OPPO Find 9 too.

1

From the front surface of the phone, we can see a clean appearance; however, the bezel panel looks extremely thin. Therefore, the display will seemingly cover the remaining side of the device. Besides, we can see top and bottom bezels pretty thick. This handset, except for some outstanding aforementioned specs, seems to be a continuation of OPPO Find 7.

OPPO Find 7
OPPO Find 7

At the back, there is a big round button that makes we think that it’s a power button just like the LG G3. Nonetheless, given its rather large size, we feel that there could be a fingerprint sensor too.

In the end, no official words including an official OPPO Find 9 launch date and price have been made. We just learn that Find 9 possibly will be powered by the powerful Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM as some remarkable phones on the market such as ASUS ZenFone 2 and Xiaomi Note Pro, and equipped with a 5.5-inch 2K display, another trend for smartphones this year.

OPPO

So, if OPPO brings their new product to Malaysia, what OPPO Find 9 Price in Malaysia do you think it will cost?

Elephone P8000: 5.5” FHD, 4,200mAh battery and Worldmode LTE support

While Elephone P7000 has been going up to pre-order currently, the manufacturer sets another plan for Elephone P8000 to join the mobile world in the second half of the year. It will retain most of what makes P7000 attractive (briefly P7000 has a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek 6752 processor, expandable memory, fingerprint scanner, and Android Lollipop 5.0.

1

In terms of Elephone P8000 specs, it’s going to keep the fingerprint sensor on the phone’s rear. Besides, it boasts a 5.5-inch 1080p display and 3GB RAM. While MediaTek 6752 is also a very capable chipset for a smartphone, it does not support international LTE, which seems to be a drawback for devices owning this processor. It looks like Elephone has found out a better choice for their next phone when building the newer MediaTek MT6753 catering “Worldmode LTE” in P8000. As a result, Elephone P8000 will be able to support all 4G networks all over the world.

2

To help you get a general view of Elephone P8000 Specs, here are the key features:

  • Display: 5.5-inch 1080p
  • Processor: Mediatek MT6753 SoC
  • Operating system: Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • RAM: 3GB
  • Storage: 16GB (expandable)
  • Rear fingerprint scanner
  • Battery: 4,200mAh
  • Rear camera: 13MP
  • Front camera: 5MP
  • Connectivity: Worldmode LTE support

Different from the 3,450mAh battery of Elephone P7000, P8000 will have more advantages when owning a 4,200mAh batt. This is going to be a worth-considering option for those who want their phone to last more than 24 hours. On the other hand, price is also a point that can make Elephone P8000 a good choice. According to some reliable sources, this new handset will come with a price tag of about $209.99 (which means Elephone P8000 price in Malaysia can be RM770). It is obviously cheaper than its elder brother.

Elephone P8000

To conclude, we would be glad if Elephone P8000 with 5.5” FHD, 3GB RAM, 4,200mAh battery, 13MP cam, Worldmode LTE support and price of RM770 does come true in the next months. However, there are no details on Elephoneo P8000 launch date in Malaysia as well as Elephone P8000 price in Malaysia. We’ll update with more specific information about this new Elephone member as soon as possible.

Huawei Mate 7: 6” FHD, 4,100mAh battery and updated fingerprint scanner

When Huawei chose to equip Huawei Mate 7 with fingerprint scanner for the first time, it turned out to be an unprecedented success. Huawei Mate 7 price in the initial was even over 5000 Yuan (RM2,950), almost equal to an iPhone, yet looking at it high-end design and specs, we can understand why it has such a price.

fingerprint scanner

Fingerprint scanners appear to be a new trend for smartphones these days, but most of them often do not work properly. In case of Huawei Ascend Mate 7, its scanner is considered as one of the best so far; it’s fast in helping unlock the handset and reacting virtually without delay either with a dry or moist finger. Besides, it can read fingerprints in any direction and authorize PayPal transactions.

1

Moving forward, in order to improve the fingerprint scanner, Huawei is going to apply a new thing: micro-channel fingerprint. Users just simply need to upgrade their phones to Android 6.2 to use this feature.

Huawei Mate 7

Hopefully with this new improvement, Huawei Mate 7 Malaysia users will also have better experience with this beautiful and capable smartphone. To remind you a bit about Huawei Mate 7 in Malaysia, let’s take a quick look at its specs:

Xiaomi Mi4 Price: It gets a price cut of nearly RM180!

Latest news announces that Xiaomi Mi4 has shipped more than a million models to consumers and they may set a higher target number in the near future. It seems like reducing prices of some former models can help achieve the company’s goal. As you remember, from April 8 onwards, Xiaomi Mi4 price has been set at 1,799 Yuan (RM1,060) after a price reduction from 1,999 Yuan (RM1,175). And today, Xiaomi Mi4 2GB version continues to cut down nearly RM180 to let buyers purchase a Mi4 with a cheaper price of 1,499 Yuan (RM882). Considering its new price tag and Xiaomi Mi4 specs of Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 5-inch 1080p screen, 13MP main and 8MP front camera, it is surely worth considering though there are many flagship smartphones on the market nowadays.

Xiaomi Mi4 Price

In March, 2015, at a conference, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, confirmed that their goal for Xiaomi phone shipments in 2015 is from 80 million to 100 million units. Moreover, according to the previous release of Xiaomi road map, Xiaomi Mi4S will also be launched this June. So, we guess that besides making Mi4 more affordable, Xiaomi also wants to prepare for the appearance of Mi4S by cutting down Mi4 price.

That’s what’s going to happen in China, how about Xiaomi Mi4 Malaysia? If the manufacturer also applies this news to Malaysia, it is likely that we just need to pay around RM900 as Xiaomi Mi4 price in Malaysia for such a pretty phone with good specs.

Gionee M5: 5.5” HD AMOLED display, 64-bit porocessor, and HUGE 6,000mAh battery

UPDATED NEWS:

Latest news reveals that Gionee M5 is likely to be powered by a super huge 6,020mAh battery, which can allow M5 to last up to four days with just a single charge. However, the company hasn’t mentioned anything like a dual battery for M5 as we heard before.

(Pic source: GSMArena)

So, whether they are hiding something to surprise us, or it’s really not gonna happen? Let’s wait until June 10, 2015 when Gionee M5 together with Gionee Elife E8 are launched in Beijing, China. Just a few days to go!

———————

If you are looking for a smartphone whose battery can last longer than just a day, you may find Gionee M5 interesting. A 3,000mAh battery seems to be acceptable, but what if a phone has TWO 3,000mAh batteries? It’s more than just acceptable; it’s remarkable! And sounds like Gionee is going to do that with their new handset.

Gionee M5

Recently, the new Gionee M5 smartphone has been spotted passing through TENAA (a telecommunications equipment certification center in China), featuring TWO 3,000mAh batteries at the same time. It shows that Gionee has decided to take a slightly different way to optimize the phone’s battery life while most other manufacturers are trying to make just one big batt for their phone.

1

Gionee M5 Specs:

According to the information on TENAA listing, M5 will boast a 1.3Ghz Quad-Core processor, perhaps a 64-bit MediaTek chipset, 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. As for the camera, it gets an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP front one. Despite including 2 batteries, it does not mean Gionee M5 will increase its thickness. Interestingly, the device is able to keep itself thin at 8.6mm with a 5.5-inch HD screen, using an AMOLED panel to help the display quality still be very good. The whole phone will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop as standard. Anyhow, there is one thing that could be a minus for M5. It weighs 213 grams, which is obviously heavier than many other 5.5-inch smartphones on the market.

Gionee M5 render
Gionee M5 render

As what we mentioned above, Gionee M5’s dual battery reaching the capacity of 6,000mAh is going to be its key selling point. With such feature, Gionee M5 can last for a full 4-day use with one single charge. Some sources even claim that you can swap the batteries. For example, you can take a spare batt with you to replace one of the phone’s batteries without shutting down the device.

Gionee Elife E8
Gionee Elife E8

To recap, people expect that being a mid-range smartphone, Gionee M5 with the huge 6,000mAh capacity of battery can become strongly competitive with other flagships. So far there has not been any words on official Gionee M5 price but the Gionee M5 launch date is set. It is coming together with the flagship Gionee Elife E8 in the coming weeks. Should it comes to Malaysia with a reasonable Gionee M5 price in Malaysia, will you consider it as a good choice?
