Thus, this might be the main reason why HMD Global has no plans to launch Nokia 7 in the Indian market. On the other hand, Nokia 8, Nokia’s latest flagship phone, didn’t make it to the US and China regions. On the contrary, India was one of the first international markets to behold the launch of Nokia 8.

Previously, Global HMD has launched the Nokia 2 for India. This handset is its first attempt to introduce a low-end Android smartphone to the mass market audience. Additionally, India has recently beaten the US to become the second-largest smartphone market after China, according to market research firm Canalys. For the record, HMD Global has launched four smartphones (Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8) in India this 2017. Moreover, Rantala says the response has been phenomenal: “We have gotten a great response to the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, and Nokia 8 in India.
