HUAWEI HONOR 7i VS LENOVO ZUK Z1

Firstly, it is about the design. We can see that ZUK (backed by Lenovo) has chosen a safer way to design their ZUK Z1 with a metal frame together with glass material. That is quite a common look we usually spot on some flagship smartphones. Meanwhile, Huawei Honor 7i decided to stand out by getting rid of the the front-facing camera and adding a flipping one, instead. It means that with just one shooter, you can use it to take quality photos or selfies whenever you like.

Moreover, Huawei Honor 7i also sports a fingerprint sensor on one side of the device while that of ZUK Z1 is placed in its home button, which is what we usually see in phones on the market nowadays. ZUK Z1 can totally be proud of its modern USB Type-C port because Honor 7i does not have it. So, chin up ZUK Z1 and congrats Honor 7i on your interesting design!

Next, we’ll come to the specs, comparison. Basing on the following table, you can notice the differences more clearly:

Well, it is not very hard to recognize the differences between Huawei Honor 7i and Lenovo ZUK Z1. If you care about the screen size, definitely ZUK Z1 is a better choice, for it comes with 5.5 inches. Nonetheless, the pixel density of Honor 7i is a bit higher that that of ZUK Z1 despite the same resolution.

About the processor, they both use Qualcomm chips but the models are not the same. ZUK Z1’s is SD805 (2.5GHz) which is faster than Honor 7i’s SD616 (1.5GHz). Though, they all boast 3GB RAM, which is much powerful than other 1GB or 2GB RAM phones.

As for the camera combo, we have to say that the 8MP front-facing snapper on ZUK Z1 is amazing already, even higher than Xiaomi Mi Note Pro or Sony Xperia Z3 Plus. Yet, if compared to Huawei Honor 7i in this case, the new ZUK smartphone has to step back a bit because its rival owns an up to 13MP selfie cam thanks to the flipping trick. As a result, selfie lovers will have to think a lot about choosing one of them.

Finally in this part, we would like to mention the battery capacity. It is obvious that Lenovo ZUK Z1 has better advantage due to its 4,100mAh. This can be the decisive feature that draws lots of buyers’ attention.

So, that’s all about the specs. How about the price?

Specifically, Lenovo ZUK Z1 kind of surprises people with the affordable Lenovo ZUK Z1 price 1,800 Yuan (about RM1,195) while the Huawei Honor 7i price is even lower: 1,599 Yuan (about RM1,062). Therefore, it seems like Huawei Honor 7i is a good option if your budget is just around  RM1,100.

Of course, that’s our opinion. They have their own strengths and weaknesses, so we need to carefully consider our needs and priorities. Hope that you can pick out the best one for you!
