Xiaomi’s iPad Mini Competition, the Xiaomi MiPad comes to Malaysia!

After introducing its Redmi Note 4G into the Malaysian market, Xiaomi could be bringing its affordable Mi Pad locally very soon. The 7.9″ Android tablet was spotted in our local Malaysian SIRIM database with the model number A0101.

After Xiaomi recently introduced their Xiaomi Redmi 4G to the Malaysian Market we could very soon see the official Launch of the Xiaomi Mi Pad in Malaysia. The Xiaomi Mi Pad was just approved on Malaysia’s SIRIM Database, the equivalent to China’s TENAA.

Design wise the Xiaomi Mi Pad is very similiar to Apple’s Ipad Mini. You get a 7.9 inch display with a “Retina Solution” of 2048×1536, same as Apple’s iPad. One of the most interesting points about the Xiaomi MI Pad is the CPU, the Nvidia Tegra K1, clocked at 2.2Ghz. The Nvidia Tegra K1 is one of the most powerful Chips on the market at the moment and comes with 192 Cores Kepler GPU combined with 2GB RAM.

The Main Camera on the Xiaomi MiPad is a 8MP Sony Camera, combined with a 5MP Selfie Cam. With a huge 6700mAh battery, you get up more then enough power to enjoy Multimedia or Videos with your MiPad. The MiPad supports MicroSD, has only WiFi with 802.11ac connection though, no Cellular available.

Conclusion: It looks like the Xiaomi Mi Pad will launch in Malaysia very soon. After approval in SiRIM for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Xiaomi launched the phone exactly one month later. In China the Xiaomi Mi Pad 16GB is selling for 1299 Yuan, so we can expect a MiPad Price of 748RM here in Malaysia. We think the MiPad is an interesting choice, especially with the Strong CPU and Retina Solution display.
