And after a long time, Samsung announced their result. The company has successfully develop the process used to produce the 14nm and 10nm Socs.<\/p>\n<p>So far, Samsung has used the 14LPC technology to produce 14nm processor and 10LPE with 10LLP process to manufacture the 10nm chipset. Recently, Samsung has come up with a new chipset technology for both 14nm and 10nm chipsets. They are\u00a014LPU and 10LPU processes, respectively. The difference between 14LPC and 14LPU technology lies in the ability of performance. In case of 14LPU technology, it\u00a0focuses on\u00a0strengthening the\u00a0performance yet keeping the same power budget. On the other hand, rather than enhance the performance, the 10LPU process emphasizes on reducing the silicon used in the chipset. EUV is extreme ultraviolet lithography which is used to accurately pattern the surface of a chip. However, this technique is very. As a result, Samsung will not mass produce\u00a0chipsets using\u00a0this technique. Rather, Samsung will use\u00a0EUV just in case their customers require so.<\/p>\n<h3>When will these new technology be officially applied?<\/h3>\n<p>According to Samsung, until the second quarter of 21017 that the process design kits for its latest 10 and 14nm technologies will be available. Therefore, it is said that these new chips roll off the production line around the turn of 2018. So, let&#8217;s wait and see how strong these new technologies can do to chipsets.
