The Galaxy S24 Ultra makes a splash with AI at its core, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. This chip unlocks various AI capabilities on the device. First, Live Translate seamlessly integrates into the native phone app, providing real-time voice and text translation. Second, Interpreter is a split-screen app that transcribes live conversations between two people speaking different languages. Meanwhile, Chat Assist, residing within the Samsung Keyboard, facilitates natural conversation translation. These functions support 13 languages at launch.

Additionally, Circle to Search with Google feature enables one-tap screen searches. Android Auto offers message summaries and reply suggestions. Transcript Assist uses AI and Speech-to-Text to transcribe, summarize, and translate recordings. Visually, the Galaxy S24 Ultra resembles the S23 Ultra, but with a significant change: the screen is now completely flat, a welcome change for glass screen protector enthusiasts. Moreover, the frame is now made of a titanium alloy, which is more durable and scratch-resistant without increasing the weight. 

Glass-wise, the S24 Ultra employs a new Gorilla Glass Armor on the front and rear that’s 4x tougher to crack and 75% less reflective. Besides, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra specs boast a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X with a variable refresh rate that goes from 1Hz up to 120Hz. Also, it runs on Android 14 and will get a blockbuster 7 years of software support. Besides, AI is a big part of the Galaxy S24 Ultra camera system. It includes a new 50MP 5x telephoto camera with better image quality compared to the S23 Ultra’s 10x camera. Other camera components remain similar: a 200MP wide-angle, a 12MP ultrawide, a 10MP short telephoto, and a 12MP selfie camera. AI tools like Generative Edit, Instant Slow-mo, and improved Nightography are introduced, along with Super HDR, for better photo and video quality. Regarding battery, the handset has a 5000mAh battery with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. Also, it ships with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB ROM (no card slot).

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra release date and price

The device is going on sale next week, starting from January 25, 2024. Notably, the handset is up for pre-order from today in Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow.
