Huawei Mate 9 has been officially released at a spectacular event held in Munich, Germany. This model had been leaked countless times before anything is officially announced. However, there are still some surprises in this big screen phablet from Huawei. Mate 9 owns a metal shell covering 5.9 inch IPS Full HD screen. Spec-wise, Huawei Mate 9 runs on Kirin 960 8-core chipset with 4 GB RAM and expendable 64GB ROM. The highlight of this phone comes to its cameras made by Leica. So how special are these cameras?

What is being mentioned here is the dual cameras on the backside of the device. This is the second phone from Huawei that has dual rear cameras while the first one was Huawei P9. The Huawei Mate 9 is equipped a 20MP Blach and White sensor and a 12MP color sensor. Nevertheless, you can still take 20MP color pictures. The secret behind this technology is explained by Leica. Each photo is the combination of many photos taken at the same time by both cameras. By doing so, the cameras will produce “super resolution” 40MP photo, then it will be downsize to a 20MP image. That’s the reason why Huawei Mate 9 camera can bring detailed and high solution photos.

Leica stated that whenever we have the bokeh effects. it would be the combination of both cameras. More interestingly, users can choose the photo focus point after the photo is taken, and they can also change the aperture down to f/0.95 as well. These dual cameras are supported by optical anti-shake system, focus technology including a laser 4, AF phase, depth and contrast. It also uses two-tone flash.
