1. Intelligent scan

On Samsung Galaxy S8, there are 3 different forms of security including a fingerprint sensor, Iris Scanner, and Face Unlock. However, both Iris Scanner and Face Unlock only work well in some conditions. In details, Iris Scanner does not work when you are outdoors and the sun is behind you since the sunlight might interfere with the IR.

On the other hand, the Face Unlock works great outdoor in good light conditions. On the Samsung Galaxy S9, Samsung has again combined these features with some improvements. For daily unlock, the smartphone uses the Face Unlock features to unlock quickly. Meanwhile, for a higher level of security such as Banking apps or Samsung Pay, the smartphone uses Iris Scanning.

2. AR Emoji

AR Emoji is the new feature of Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. This AR feature is inspired by the Animoji feature on the Apple iPhone X. The AR Emoji allows users to create a 3D Scan of their faces by the front-facing camera. Samsung offers a wide variety of cartoon characters to choose from or scans your face and creates a cartoon character of you (similar to Nintendo Mii). Then you can record this as an animated gif and share it quickly with your friends.

The S9 Plus comes with dual cameras with a new dual aperture which works like human eye to adjust to the dark and bright lighting. Furthermore, the aperture can switch between f/2.4 and f/1.5 to let in more or less light. Moreover, the slow-motion tool enables users to capture videos with 32 times slower than traditional video. After recording the super slow-motion video, the smartphone automatically saves it in your camera roll and GIFs. Furthermore, the video also adds background music to make it more lively.
