1. Specs:

Firstly, it is easy to see that Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Xiaomi Mi4i have the same display resolution but different screen size. This can be understood easily since Redmi Note 2 belongs to the Note series of Xiaomi, yet the difference is not very significant. Apart from that, the camera combo and RAM capacity of 2 phones are quite similar.

About processor, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 uses a new 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 octa-core chip while Xiaomi Mi4i houses a Snapdragon 615 one, which usually receives complaints about heating issue. Furthermore, Redmi Note 2 processor runs faster than its competitor, so that at this point, it seems like the Note has more advantages.

As for the storage, both Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Mi4i offer 2 options: 16GB and 32GB. Basically, they do not include a microSD card slot for us to expand the memory. Though, it is said that the Note 2 Chinese version does contain the slot. Anyhow, that’s what happen in China. When going on international markets, Redmi Note 2 and Mi4i are the same in terms of ROM.

Last but not least, the batteries of both machines are different when Redmi Note 2 coming with a 3,060mAh cell and Mi4i with a 3,120mAh one. In case of caring much about the batt capacity, perhaps many buyers will choose Mi4i.

2. Price and Availability

Xiaomi Mi4i was launched before Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. As a result, it is surely available here with Xiaomi Mi4i prices in Malaysia range from RM750 to RM890. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was just introduced this month and it might take some time to hit our market. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 price is only about RM500, which is kind of lower than the Xiaomi Mi4i price in Malaysia.
