Today, we will look at two affordable devices produced by Xiaomi. One is Xiaomi Mi4c, just launched this month, September, 2015, and the other is its sibling, Xiaomi Mi4i, launched in April, 2015. Now, let’s see how they are different from each other!

First, one of the most outstanding differences between these guys is the presence of the USB Type-C port. Moreover, Mi4c is the very first Xiaomi’s product to sport this feature. Besides, it comes with an IR Blaster (infrared blaster, known as a “a device that emulates an infrared remote control to autonomously control a device that is normally controlled only by remote control key presses”) compatible with more than 2,000 home appliances. Good job, Xiaomi Mi4c!

For other specs, we can easily notice by looking at the spec table. There are some significant differences such as the RAM capacity, operating system and processor. In general, Xiaomi Mi4c seems stronger than Mi4i when boasting up to 3GB RAM, powerful SD808 and the newest Xiaomi MIUI 7 OS. Nonetheless, one obvious thing that can make Xiaomi Mi4c less attractive than Mi4i is its battery (3,080mAh vs 3,120mAh).

As for the ability of taking pictures, both the Mi4c and Mi4i are equipped with 13MP rear shooter with a dual LED (true-tone) flash and 5MP front one. However, this time Xiaomi proudly claims that Mi4c comes with a super-fast auto-focus feature allowing it to focus on objects in less than 0.1 second, and it secondary cam supports wide-angle selfies. That appears to be totally better than Mi4i!

Last but not least, we want to mention that Xiaomi has applied an excellent feature called Edge Tap to Mi4c. It means that taps on the side of the handset can work as shortcuts. For example, if you want to go back, you can double tap on one side and a single tap to take a photo in Camera. Sounds great!

#2: Xiaomi Mi4c vs Xiaomi Mi4i: Price and availability Comparison

Xiaomi Mi4c prices for its 2 variants are $204 (about RM896) for the 16GB ROM plus 2GB RAM ver and $235 (about RM1,032) for the 32GB ROM plus 3GB RAM. Yet, you may have to wait quite long for Xiaomi Malaysia to bring it here. Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi4i can be found in Malaysia now with prices ranging from RM749 to RM1,388 HERE for both storage variants.

In conclusion, both Xiaomi Mi4c and Xiaomi Mi4i are pretty good phones for prices like theirs. Since Mi4c is the latest one, we cannot deny that it has more advantages than the other friend.
