According to rumors, Xiaomi wants to bring the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 to the market this year. Coming with a large curved AMOLED display and an innovative fingerprint sensor, this phone is going to make a big hit in the market. 

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2: Specs and Features

The Mi Mix was one of the first smartphones to come on the market with a new screen design: a much larger display with extremely small edges. Almost the entire front was reserved for the display. Now, Xiaomi rivals are following this growing trend, as well. For example LG has used this new design on its LG G6. Also other competitors like Samsung and Apple are going to come up with bezel-less mobile phones, if the rumors are true.

Apparently, the French designer Philippe Starck is responsible for the look of the Mi Mix 2. The phone is said to come with a elegant ceramic body and  higher screen-to-body-ratio than its predecessor Mi Mix which has already a high ratio of 91.3 percent. The successor is going to feature incredible 93 percent! Moreover, Mi Mix 2 will sport an AMOLED display with curved edges on the side.

Contrary to expectations, the fingerprint sensor is not going to be installed on the rear. Instead, Xiaomi it will be placed under the screen! Thanks to  Goodix’ Invisible Fingerprint Sensor (IFS™) this is possible now. At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 the Chinese company has just introduced how the fingerprint sensor can be accommodated under the screen of a smartphone. According to Insider, the Mi Mix 2 is going to benefit from this innovation.
