Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition official launch

To recap, Xiaomi launched three flagship phones back in May. There are the original Mi 8, Mi 8 SE and the powerhouse variant with a see-through back called Mi 8 Explorer. While the first two have hit the shelves since early June, the third device is yet to arrive on any market. But it showed up on TENAA listing last week. The teaser image, however, does not come from official Xiaomi social media, casting a shade on its authenticity.

Still, it was always likely that the most capable of its flagships is about to hit the stores shortly. In terms of the storage, the previous Mi 8 Explorer Edition sports massive 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM (no card slot). How about other specs? In details, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition packs a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED with 1080 x 2248 pixels. Underhood, the handset gets power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo.

In addition, Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition camera system equips a dual 12MP (f/1.8) + 12MP (f/2.4) snapper on the back and a single 20MP selfie lens (f/2.0). Moreover, the Xiaomi phone battery carries a non-removable Li-Po 3000mAh capacity with Quick Charge 4.0+ support. Lastly, it features an in-display fingerprint scanner and the Apple iPhone X style Face ID.
